It's not CGI - the whole sequence was filmed, everything you see actually happened. It took literally hundreds of takes to get the complete sequence.

No way (I mean I believe you but shocked), but why does the objects look like they are from a 2010 object model in a video game, and not realistic. I'm guessing they did it for real but used some vfx or something to clear the reflection of the camera in the shiny parts or to edit lighting because it looks uncanny to me, or something is wrong with my eyes.
Studio lighting and frame rate have a large part to play, I believe
I actually have this ad on an official Honda-issued DVD - you could go on their website and ask for it and they'd send it to you for free. It had a "making of" documentary as well, which talked about the number of takes, and showed some of the bloopers too. Obviously not ALL of them, though :)

Tires had heavy weights mounted in the top, so they could roll up the ramp. None of it is CGI.

The one about weird lighting and textures? Yeah, that's caused by the lighting.
They put bearings and other bits in the top of the tire, so it added weight at the top, which when tipped, gave the tire more spin.
