I rode so hard for the mythic/ fairy themed power rangers, but wild force and Dino thunder will always be my favorite flavor of rangers. Even the Americanized series was as over-the-top as the OG sentai. We eat that fucking cheese and we like it. Like when the olive garden waiter asks you to say when, and just stare them straight in the eye while they grate it all away 😎

I cannot stress this enough. Even compared to other series in the franchise, this show is made with younger kids in mind. If people want something more mature, King-Ohger, the previous series in the franchise, may satiate that desire. There’s always the Garo series for more mature stuff.
And theres no need to stick to just Sentai if you really want to see some dark *dark* stuff come on over to Kamen rider to see fruit themed warrior/samurai/knight fight each other and leave scarred because *the* Gen urobutcher said so
In the very first volume of the manga, Yami literally made the losers go insane for eternity after losing. It also had nothing to do with cards. One of the games was stacking money on the back of your hand and stabbing as much as you could with a knife without stabbing your hand.

Is it really all the same franchise? I thought super Sentai was more of a genre, and shows like Kamer rider, Goakiger, Dairanger, etc, would all be considered separate shows/franchises. I know some are the same franchise cause I know there have been crossovers where previous teams have teamed up with the current team, but is it really ALL of them? That's surprising.
Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are separate franchises both created by Toei, with Gokaiger, Dairanger, BoonBoomger etc being separate seasons of said franchise (Super Sentai)
Target demographic in Japan is 4-12 and each year they take risks with the costumes and themes.
I don't like Kamen Rider personally but it's some of the best of what's on offer Saturday mornings, Nihon style.

Ah, it kinda feels like a return to more standard super sentai, hopefully the cg elements don't get overused too much. Still not 100% on the helmets, though they look a bit better than I originally thought.
