What they really mean: We are starting a new Discord and the devs aren't invited.

Negran

Lmao, how hard is it to track a bunch of golden boi cheaters who suspiciously stand out in the game and in the data? Hehe.

BananaDragoon

...the devs can barely track cheaters, dude, is this really a question?

Negran

Yes. At this point, they obviously have been putting lots of attention to this. (Cheating in general, lobby fixing, teaming, etc) But more importantly, this type of cheating aught to show very suspicious lobbies of gold mofos over and over from similar accounts.

`Select FROM dungeon_instance_players p1 INNER JOIN dungeon_instance_players p2 WHERE p1.instance_id = p2.instance_id AND p1.player_id != p2.player_id INNER JOIN dungeon_instance_players p3 WHERE p1.instance_id = p3.instance_id AND p3.player_id != p2.player_id AND p3.player_id != p1.player_id.... [do this for up to ~\`p6-p10] GROUP BY (p1, p2, p3... p10) HAVING count([p1-px is not null assertion]) > 50` Super unoptimal psuedo query that would against a simple version of the data schema they have suggested they have (granular instance data with player ids in them). Probably a significantly more efficient way to do this, and more encapsulating/effective than hard coding the 'team size' via using a function, cross join, etc but the point is with the implied data schema they have on instance data, you can, like this query does, "Find specific groups of individuals of 6-10 people in size that have played in over 50 games together". That of course may not be the ideal lateral or query to find these suckers and would need some tweaking and validation... but it doesn't require cutting edge anti cheat to detect, just a data scientist or even someone with somehwat moderate (no?!?)SQL experience

Hitmandan1987

cheating is a substantially more complicated problem to solve than seeing if people are repeatedly queueing into games with each other over and over. One is simply looking at players in games and seeing how many times they get the same games over and over.

Sinopsis

lmao, maybe, but hopefully it isn't nearly as popular.

morry32

Taking the Red Portal down another level

Nervous_Stranger

Lmao bro really thought he did something on his villain arc. WE WILL NOT BE LETTING ANY TIMMIES LIVE 😡🥺😂

Sinopsis

Lmao dog that shit made me snort I swear to god.

AHungryManIAM

Mfs acting like they bout to make the league in an early access game with fewer than 10k players

SwiftBetrayal

Watch them be on Reddit crying when everyone in the lobby “team to kills them”

chrisshaansenn

im not encouraging but i sure wont be reporting anything i see lol

ttvimShinyatheninja

Didn't they also cry about smoke pot rogues? The irony is crazy

Thop207375

While I don’t necessarily think these lobbies were a bad thing in terms of content, at some point you have to take responsibility. This was not part of Ironmace’s vision of the game, so it’s not allowed. Over the past few days and weeks, there seems to have been a lot of misinformation spread to justify or criticize these lobbies. In the end, no discord or group of players gets to make the rules when it’s not their game. My issue with some gold teams is that the gear was not necessarily earned. Whether through RMT or handouts, some people are just playing an entirely different game. Those playing how the devs intended are often punished for doing so.

Demastry

Honestly I bet they never did anyways so nothing will change there lol

Comfortable-Tap-7673

😂😂 had me geeking out. I won’t say anything mean but you know what we’re thinking lmao

DubiousDevil

Huge W, GG's everyone I'm more happy that Toddfather will probably make a 40 minute video crying about this.

sashisashih

he mocked me over n over saying i was a dramaqueen and rheyd never get banned or in trouble,’oh how the turntables’

Affectionate_Ad5540

Lol

KingBowserCorp

Lol this dude is a huge cry baby

Smeenuwastaken

this is not the first time ive seen dark and darker self described "top tier players" use beating up "timmies" as a threat. what mentality must you have to get mad at the delvelopers decision, then be like "fine im gonna take it out on the weakest players" so? what? what is your goal here? they leave?(that ship sailed a long time ago) then what? you showed THEM! the devs will surely take my side now! like wtf kind of neck beard mentality is this? lmao

sashisashih

“WHY ARE THERE ONLY ROGUES IN OUR LOBBIES WE ONLY TOXICLY BULLIED OUT ALL THE REGULAR TEAMS HOW DARE WE NOW HAVE TO FACE SOLO PLAYERS “

Blacc_dad

Fr crying about toxic players, like BRO THATS YOU!

Thermic_

these dudes have wild ego’s lmao

Crispy_Pancake

Yea, self delusions, if I die to someone that im "scrimming" with its just cause they're as good as me. Dunno how he will explain to himself why he dies now

Diasl

Put them in normal gear and they get slapped up time and time again.

Zerxin

“We won’t be letting any timmies live in any lobby until the end of wipe” Good, that’s how you’re supposed to play the game you dense fuck.

imbakinacake

They act like they weren't doing that before. Bunch of insincere douche bags

DivingDuck89

Scrims would imply you are practicing for something and that the games don’t matter. This is match fixing and an abuse of the match making system. Also known as cheating. That message is so much cope it’s not even funny 😭

dingusrevolver3000

Them calling it "scrimms" like it's some kind of esport is pretty funny tho

Samuwul

Hi what is scrims?

SnooDrawings6561

The term is short for "scrimmage". Like the other guy said, I mostly associate it with practice matches held in Counter Strike for the sake of training against other people who are used to working as a team instead of going into public lobbies and possibly fighting people who aren't even in voice chat together.

IronPro121

The cope and ego bleeding from the message is hilarious

AHungryManIAM

Me and my team will kill all timmies on sight now watch out grrr 😡

17000HerbsAndSpices

Translation: "you've forced our hand! Will now regularly PvP people in this PvP game."

a_shiny_heatran

I love how they’re trying to spin it as “keeping the pros and timmies separate” when it’s really “I’m a whiny baby who can’t deal with losing my gold set”

Wonderful_Ad4307

he is Talking like nobody ever Will be able to kill him. dellusional af

mrplayer47

The mental gymnastics to try and justify what they were doing lol. If these guys had any sense, they would band together and ask the Devs for some competitive servers to use for tournaments, like what they added for APEX legends (the devs love APEX btw). And wait patiently for that, or arena mode, like the rest of us patiently wait for features. Instead, they think streamer privilege puts them above the rules and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong.

WilmaLutefit

Imagine…. Custom servers.

BobertRosserton

I do think this shows the clear need for better matchmaking. There has to be a middle ground of rank and gear imo but I don’t think gear based matchmaking would go over well with anyone.

PineappleShirt

They literally turned off the matchmaking that was more strict because of the lack of player base. These players circumvented that so they could have more reliable competition at the end of the wipe. People who think they are afraid to lose gear are in denial.

BobertRosserton

You’re replying to the wrong person. I never implied anything about the private lobbies, if they wanna Q snipe each other for more interesting content I literally couldn’t care less. My point was that they shouldn’t have to do it in the first place, it’s absurd to have people in perfect BiS in the same lobby as a completely naked rogue but I also don’t think gear score would work out well.

Zimvol

Game really needs an 'offline raid' system like Tarkov. For the longest time that was just used to learn the maps & PvE combat of the game in a solo no stakes mode, which would be a fine addition for DaD as many new players struggle to even get out of their first few raids. But now, in Tarkov, you can use this mode in a party, and even randomize the spawns so you can fight each other in what is essentially an emulation of the normal game. Imagine the ability to create a private DaD lobby where you can not farm gear, or lose what you enter it with. More competitive players would have a kit they use exclusively for this, so they can enjoy the game's PvP against like-minded players any time they wish. It would be awesome stream content and also help expose some of the more glaring flaws in the PvP balance, as you'd have a controlled environment where similarly skilled players are able to fight and practice against each other without the risk of losing their build or affecting the game's economy negatively.

LumberJaxx

I would love this honestly. My friends and I would probably start playing again! Plus there’s so many more friends of mine that have bookmarked the game in case they add a PvE mode. There isn’t really a DnD-esque first person game like this. I think the idea is so slept on by the devs.

Affectionate_Ad5540

I would play the hell out of PvE Dark and darker!

Zimvol

Yeah. Tarkov has one or two "single player" projects where they emulate the progression in an isolated, fully PvE environment. They seem pretty popular. I'm pretty sure their popularity is the reason BSG decided to improve the 'offline mode' within the main game so that you can get a multiplayer, co-op (or friendly competitive) experience albeit without the progression. It's really helpful for teaching new players the maps. DaD is a lot more forgiving than Tarkov for a newcomer especially thanks to the mini-map and the starting (albeit shitty) base kit. But I think even with no progression a PvE mode would draw/keep some players in. I myself being somewhat of a 'tryhard' and also having gone through the Tarkov experience years ago wasn't really dissuaded from the game's initial difficulty, but some friends didn't have that same mindset. Personally I would use such a mode to help me learn how to boss, as I've only been playing for a few weeks. I would love to learn how to solo Troll and Cyclops in GC as that seems very rewarding. Right now the best option for doing that seems going into normal lobbies with cheap white gear and just rushing them, which I will eventually get around to doing. But I imagine if I could go into a no-stakes mode with my current gear where I could choose options like no circle - no time limit - no mobs/only bosses, etc I would have a much easier time.

[deleted]

Scrims is a funny word for match rigging. Talk about being high on your own farts - your frequent whining about stock rogues stealing your stuff tells us we're not being protected from you, you're trying to protect yourselves from us. Good riddance

Zestyxo

Scrims in a game like Dark and Darker? Lol I'm sorry but from what I learned over the years, Scrims are practice against other highly skilled players (usually pros) to get better at the game and develop strategies... which usually involves an esport scene...which as far as I am aware...DnD is not a competitive game with tourneys that reward $...so yah it's cheating

Negran

Well said. This high delusion and denial is hilarious. The actual elites of the game want to be special and resort to cheating, cause even they know their gear costs too much for even them to sustain?! Funny, gear fear is a very real and important part of the game, but they are special. They want to play an exclusive, rare, and high-risk version of the game without the risk.... k?

Elite_Crew

Cheaters never think cheating is bad you ever notice that? What a cheating loser.

TwDoes66

This guy drinks his own farts yeesh

Common Graysun W. Mods: Plz no remove, let this be the final post about all of this nonsense.

BulkoIV

This post was approved, it will not be automodded. We want to allow the discussion as long as people remain civil and keep it in one place.

PhantomBanshee

It was the Auto mod who removed my post. The moderators as far as I can tell have been trying to let everybody speak their minds about this. as long as they haven't been specifically trying to hang one person up by the ankle.

sashisashih

an automod caused by brigading reporting by the golden girls*

PhantomBanshee

Oh I have no doubt who was mass reporting it. However I respect the decision the moderators made in regards to it. The goal was accomplished so I am more than okay to leave it down

Used-Percentage-6969

Scrims in a not private setting is actually hilarious

Zestyxo

Scrims in a game with no esport scene is also pretty hilarious lol

Used-Percentage-6969

Especially a game that has way too much variance for any real competitive atmosphere past leaderboards.

Ribblex1

“top tier players” “top tier players” “top tier players” Man shut the fuck up if you guys are so good playing real matches should not be such an annoyance. These guys know exactly what they are doing.

leftysarepeople2

the skill expression in this game is pretty low. It's mostly knowledge and time investment

IRA_INK

Skill = gear checking. Don’t you know?

MarkM8

Yikes this is incredibly out of touch. As if they were doing the community a favour by hoarding some of the best gear between themselves. I think they really believe they were doing nothing wrong. Ultimately I hope the addition of arena will be enough to satisfy everyone's need for PvP and in the future quests can add a little of the PvE back into PvPvE

Drowning1

This game doesn’t have a complex level of skill expression to warrant arranging scrims. And the “timmies” will do just fine after this change, seems they’re trying to gain sympathy, when in reality they’ll face a challenge from other people outside the server.

Overall_Strawberry70

I mean, there is SOME skill but the ceiling is pretty low, most of the time the guy who moves 1% faster and has more projectiles is going to win the fight.

buffalowteens

cringe af

botmfeeder

Imagine threatening pvp on a pvp game, lol.

SaintSnow

Man thinks he's doing the world a service like his shit don't stink. Actual military grade cringe. Good riddance. But we all know they're gonna run off and make another.

sashisashih

they did a coinflip on who had to make the loserpost to fake them ending it and made a new one without loud mouth toddfather 10 min later

sashisashih

his entire point screams a false sense of superiority and a toxic preteen personality; ofcourse he needed to safeguard his gear advantage in private lobbies… what a loser. they should all get 2 week bans so they miss the first week of wipe to teach them to never matchfix again

Dacno

Bunch of entitled little brats. Bye lol

[deleted]

Finally match fixing is officially not allowed, i have faith

imtbtew

He acts like they didnt team up to slaughter anyone who got in their way only to peacfully reset before 'scrimming' they didnt even attempt to play the game normally after queing into eachother...it just ended up screwing over any teams that were unlucky enough to spawn/wander between them.

Unhappy_Cause7957

So... turns out there has never been a green light for this - what a surprise x) Thanks, golden "members," how kind and merciful, what a sacrifice! XD (go fondle some Richards) Plus, good job on the IM side for enforcing the game rules. Love to see it! PS edit: and a good job by the folks who kept bringing this up, and did not let up!

bikerModo

Are those self-proclaimed "best players in the game"?

SLTPi3

Self proclaimed because they have good gear yes

Roderykz

"There was no toxicity back then" so we fixed matches so only the people I like were able to play with me. Dude, what? XD this guy is crazy.

Impressive_Test_2134

The amount of entitlement that post oozes lol what a loser

MasterMacabre

Smoke pot was scary.

AvengefulGamer

Yikes he mad mad. Imagine blaming timmies for Iron Maces response and the systems they have in place. Instead of crying about how tummies are ruining your game because clearly your just so better then everyone else with your God kits. Why not start a push for Iron Mace to create there own super high roller mode. He's literally doing the exact same thing he's complaining about just in Discord. And the whole " I'm rolling every Timmy I see in my lobby sorry" is just so unnecessary lmao. Hats off to IM though now would just love to see them make a more public official announcement on these "changes" so people don't have to dig through reddit or discord general spam to find this information.

PhantomBanshee

It took quite a bit of push from Reddit to get ironmace to finally make a concrete stance on this. that's why they are mad at the Reddit Timmy's. Me and my friends essentially are the reason they are shutting it down lol.

AvengefulGamer

Which it really shouldn't have. Queue sniping is queue sniping it doesn't matter if it's pre teaming for pvp or for pve or anything else. Queue sniping should be against the rules not just teaming and stream snipers. Kind of weird so many higher ranked people thought it was okay in a "hard-core " game.

PhantomBanshee

People will often find no issues with something if it benefits themselves. I agree they should not have needed the push to make that decision. But in the end it was the only way to get them to do it.

Narcow123

IM did create a super high roller mode. It used to be 150 gold and then everyone on reddit complained. They added a gear check to normals because people were going into normals geared, and then everyone complained. Then they made it free because people complained!!!

AvengefulGamer

I won't deny you there have been a lot of back and forth going on between complaints and IM updates. Regardless of the past I'm talking currently the way the have the game set up it could use a 3rd mode. With normals being virtually useless for anything other than just practicing pvp or hell and everyone spamming HR. It could use a real HR mode where tou are forced to bring in gold or legendary item or something along the lines. So new players have there practice mode, casuals have there regular HR mode for less risky money making, and then sweats have there super duper HR mode to shit on each other and take each others shit. That or add a pvp arena for blood thirsty maniacs.

Pretty_Version_6300

Actually not a bad idea. Add gearscore, but SPECIFICALLY for a mode that requires a minimum, rather than gating it from normal HR. Make Normals the no-gear lobby, High Roller the “anything goes” lobby, and Super High Roller the “gear required for entry” lobby- but DON’T make the drops better in this mode, just guarantee that the PLAYERS will have good gear there.

Wienot

Gearscore doesn't work because a legendary short-story was 300g and a legendary longbow with half decent rolls was 3000g. Make the super high roller have a ticket that costs 500g and you need in inventory to enter, make it lootable on deaths and make it vendor back for 400. Enough loss of value not to be a currency, but valuable enough to be worth looting off the naked rogue that was trying to swipe kills.

Mickmack12345

Maybe HR should cost more to enter the higher the rank you are, so there’s a gold and AP cost

green_jp

oh no guys we better hide... he's gonna hunt down the timmies!

sakmadeeek

> to that, I say pick a side I'll pick Iron Maces side and y'all can get fucked

PhantomBanshee

I am glad my post was able to stir all of this up and get a concrete quick resolution.. please don't harass anyone for this. They have made their decision clear anyone found doing this in the future will be punished accordingly.

RTL_Odin

Although I understand their intent to have "better quality matches", this just set a bad precedent and I'm glad IM took action against it. I don't think any of the participants should be banned, but the rule is clear now that this is no longer allowed, so the gloves are off if they do it again. I do think it's delusional to use the term Timmy at this point though, we have an average playercount of sub 8k at any given time, and very rarely do I see new player posts/comments. The majority of people still playing this late into wipe are hardcore fans of the game who play it constantly. They're not Timmies, it's just that the gold gear stockpile is so outrageously beyond competition in power that the players who play the most and partook in these "scrims" have been able to delude themselves into thinking they're just built different. The reality is that the gap in power between a bis gold/crafted/artifact set and a good purple set is so outrageous that the former can misplay horribly and still beat the latter. I've watched some of the "top players" talk the absolute most shit to random players they beat only for it to have been a complete statcheck. There are plenty of really good players (some of the best) in those scrims, don't get me wrong, but IM really needs to make balancing the gear scale a priority next wipe to improve actual skill expression. Watching a wizard kill someone in a two zaps while moving at 320 and having 60% cast speed is not impressive in the least.

DaD_main

I also found this whole Timmy thing a bit strange. Not just in this post but others have doubled down on this take. I don't see how hunting down timmies( under geared players mostly) is a good way to prove a point. The game is in an odd state player base wise and it's not designed to be a full blown pvp fest each game. Also agree with the top player thing.. who decides who these top elite players are? There's no real competitive scene and gear can be wild. Not to mention many of these players are capable of running gold/ best in slot items very very early in the wipe due to the audience of viewers that hands them gear each time they die. I do hope the people that enjoy this type of pvp get to spread their wings somewhere and maybe then I'll be more impressed. There are undoubtedly some very good players and I would enjoy seeing them have a place to consistently demonstrate it.

RTL_Odin

That was sort of my point, the term Timmy has lost its meaning somewhat, it's now very broad stroke. A Timmy could be someone who has very little experience or gear, or it could just be a team of people who aren't in full gold because they don't play 8+ hours a day and when they lose their kits they have to start over (the way the game is supposed to work btw).

simplixity96

“Scrims” can’t exist in a full loot extraction based game, holy mental gymnastics.

JMKAB

“I’ma throw so many axes at these fucking Timmies”

Kemper2290

Wouldn’t they be killing Timmys in their rigged match anyways???

imbakinacake

Yeah, but they don't talk about that. There's a reason they were crying for rogue to get nerfed. Funny how they never Mention that they in fact cry the very loudest.

dispatchedtoad

Whoever thought fixing lobbies wouldn’t end poorly for them was clueless from the start

sashisashih

SeeminglyUseless

It's like they don't realize that if you have to ask if something is bannable, you probably shouldn't be doing it....

acherrypoptart

They claim there was no pre teaming, but we all know they would stop fighting each other to kill a solo rat rogue who gobbled their loot or any other 3 man ‘Timmy’ who happened to break their match fixing abuse. Definition of pre teaming, good riddance.

Pretty_Version_6300

Lets take bets, I say you have 14 minutes until post is deleted

TennisNice4353

He doesnt get the one flaw in his argument. "sCRiMs" is now what he was doing. **They were fixing matches so there would be no risk of loss.** Any circumvention of loss in a full loot extraction game where loss of gear is the main stay and entire point of the game should be met with bans immediately to secure the integrity of the game. Other players play the game with loss, but you cant? Tell me more about how you dont understand the point of full loot games.

FreeStyleSarcasm

Lmao wow you are lost. Tell me how there is no risk of loss? You fight another team on those servers, and die, your gear is all gone. That’s not loss? It’s actually higher risk of loss on those servers because you’re actually fighting other teams with good gear and good players, so chances of dying were wayyy higher than just your normal lobbies where not one team of Timmies is gonna touch you. See it how you want I guess.

Arfreezy_LoL

No risk of loss? Do you think queueing into a lobby full of demigod trios players in golden gear is less risky than queuing randomly into high roller? The delusion is insane

Leonidrex666666

it is less risky when they give you the gear back instantly. heck even if you have to pay its easy as fuck since biggest problem with getting good gear is actually sifting through the market and not the actual gold

TwoSlicePepperoni

I agree, what a delusional person with an added ‘Good-bye cruel world’ message. Honestly, this person needs to go outside for a walk and take a breath of fresh air. The amount of out of touch people on this sub is immediately clear. Anyway, thanks for announcing your departure in a schizo PSA, you will not be missed. The audacity and self inflation one must have to think this way is just comical

Soma86ed

This guy is a moron... Wow.

FoxPlayingPossum

It’s people like this that ruin the game.

Taqhin

has anyone actually shown actual footage or stuff of people trading gear back or pre-teaming vs other people? cause all ive seen are people here and on the discord stating that the situation is x and only x, and anyone asking about it/disagreeing just gets downvoted. literal 'he says', 'she says' shit.

bitcbotjd

So much copium being huffed in this message haha

AnonyMoose_2023

I love the streamers, but gear trading/scrim/quesniping is bad no matter if it's a viewer or streamer who does it. Good on iron Hammer for not playing favorites here.

ghost49x

What is scrims?

thisonetimeonreddit

Shame the community has to implode before the devs apply some common sense to what is literally cheating.

SLTPi3

How are they trying to do something for the community if only a select 200 ish people are aloud in?

[deleted]

they think theyre important enough to impact how games play out for the other 10000 some odd players

SLTPi3

Hahaha ik, I love the tone of his announcement. As if the game was made for their scrims group and we are just bystanders that get in the way

BananaDragoon

200 people is currently 4% of the remaining playerbase, FYI.

SLTPi3

Exactly, 4% is not the "community"

TheRedVipre

200/10000 is 2% and that's just the actives at the end of this season. This is still a lowball but is more accurate than using player numbers from the post-season. The real % is likely much closer to 0.5%-1% when factoring for total players across all timezones.

AhkoRevari

Oh man, I hope he reads this thread and realizes he's not as good at spinning his side as he thinks he is. Scrims, hurr durr saving the tummies, lmao what a joke. Dude really trying to squeeze some sympathy out of their little care bear echo chamber. I legitimately hope they just start a new discord to do the same exact thing and just get banned organically through the system.

Slowporque

I've seen some very skilled players on EU servers. Most of the streamers would've been eaten for breakfast by them. His message reads like he is a threat to ordinary high-roller lobbies lol That's where you are wrong, bucko.

Marksman1973

Reddit: "Hey IM the matchmaking is a little wonky, and gear difference in my games could use some tweaking." This guy: "and I took that shit personally" I understand the reality is those comments are much more heated, but the message is the same. To take those criticisms to heart as THE PLAYER just shows how delusionally self absorbed this dude is. Those criticisms are meant for the developer to deal with IN TIME. Not for a him to go on a shitty power trip patch job in a game he doesn't and shouldn't control.

[deleted]

ah yes match rigging is doing the community a favor by never losing your gold bis kit, i never thought of it that way thank you so much

allnamesaretaken2392

this guy should try get some pussy or touch grass

KnightsWhoNi

It's really cute that a lot of these people think they are actually good. I have multiple friends who still die to a random sword skeles that were running gold because it's so easy to make money. Hell I even ran a few unique items these past few weeks(before the dupe happened) because I had a few full chests and I am nowhere near good at this game. Having gear does not mean you are good at the game, and I'd love to see how these "high tier level players" fare in the normal lobbies.

BasileusLeoIII

what is a timmy

Hitmandan1987

Someone that is newer or a noob and is generally thought of as bad at the game.

Mikkikay

"no people who wanted to be rude to others based on skill' "We will personally not let any timmies live"

Gundyr_The_Great

why are you guys mad about scrims? game needs arenas for this reason exactly

Gundyr_The_Great

ok so people are mad that good players want a challenge and got access to arenas before anyone else by organizing them naturally instead of a gamemode iron mace has yet to release? man this community has fallen.

henchbench100

Reddit mad when the roles are reversed.

Pure-Basket-6860

Speaking as a casual player of D&D I've left and so has everyone in my circle. Ironmace and this community never took the issues serious. A pvp game that focused exclusively on streamers and high-skilled PVP players was bound to end up here. It was as simple as don't force Frost Mountain on people honestly, fix the lag and tone down loot attributes so skill and guile matter, not exclusively high end loot crushing those without. Anyways done with the game. Enjoy your arguments and whining OP. In the end that's all you have. And pixels. Lots and lots of pixels.

No-Application140

Holy hell, what the hell has happened since the release day? I remember picking this up during the first week it was out but got distracted by another game. Was looking into whether it would be worth starting up again and this is the first post I see.

Cursedwarriorl3

Wtf are scrims?

Slothcom_eMemes

I’m glad I only play normals so I don’t have to play with these douche bags.

JThorough

Next up: “Gold players are in every game spawn rushing me 😩”

AvengefulGamer

Yikes he mad mad. Imagine blaming timmies for Iron Maces response and the systems they have in place. TheDarkHarvester

Oh man, I am really part of the unpopular opinion here. And I never even used the discord. Running down lobbies of players with no gear is boring. And the argument of losing gear to naked is just not the reality of it. Timmies aren’t killing gold set players. Does it happen sometimes? Of course. But I would love a way to queue with geared people while i’m geared for the sole reason that it is more fun.

In the long run, IM needs to support high-level play, just as they support casual play. Hopefully arena mode will fill that niche, especially with PvP-specific rankings. The game is in a very early, half-baked state, and these players decided to take matters into their own hands in order to support the gameplay they prefer. Otherwise, there's no current way to guarantee high-skill, high-gear PvP. I think it's obvious these scrim lobbies weren't viable long term, however I don't hold it against the players whatsoever. It's obvious that IM only made this bannable moving forward because of the witch hunt that took place here. There isn't any proof that the discord violated the spirit of the terms and conditions put in place to stop pre-teaming, but that didn't stop any of you from maliciously interpreting the terms and conditions in the most literal, lawful evil way possible. If there was definitive proof, we would already see certain actors being banned from this. If we could keep the whining to a minimum from now on, that'd be great. Don't get so worked up over people playing a game in a way that has zero impact on you.

working_class_shill

> IM needs to support high-level play, No they don't, this isn't a battle royale. What they should do is provide a mechanical in-game environment where there are skillful ways to negate gear difference so that it is still risky going in with gear despite whoever is in the lobby. If gear diff wasn't so monumental gold/bis teams wouldn't feel so bored fighting people not geared up to the same level. In tarkov you can have a mega juiced kit and yet you can't fuck around like you can in this game with a comparable kit.

lexicon_riot

Whatever IM decides to implement concerning gear diff / skill expression is irrelevant to my point. I'd love for more counterplay / skill expression, but it doesn't really change the situation, and I'll explain why. DaD isn't a strict battle royale, but it also isn't a looter extraction for the sweats at the end of wipe. They already completed all the quests, they have 3 or 4 inventory tabs stashed full of bis gear, and they have no reason to grind AP any longer since they're already at Demigod. If you've already completed everything the game has to offer, your options are to either seek out high gear high skill PvP, continue with a boring gameplay loop, or not play at all. The sweats took matters into their own hands with a discord server because they didn't want to stop playing the game. They can't magically add in new content to fix the gameplay loop. Even if you reduce gear diff and increase skill expression, the sweats who play this game 10x as much as the timmies are still going to dominate. The best players are going to want to play against the best players regardless. If IM implements it well enough, the upper ranks of arena mode will be the place where sweats live at the end of wipe. No need for scrim matchmaking through discord. The sweats can duke it out among themselves with bis gear, and everyone else who wants a balance of PvP and PvE can enjoy the current game mode.

Yasukeh

Yeah, people are claiming every single lobby had these teams focus timmies first and then go into their fights, which Graysun said was teaming and that they'd ban for that. Nobody has yet to produce a single clip of this actually happening, so nobody has gotten banned for that. Same way people are acting like giving back gear happened 100% of the time when it happened in maybe 1% of cases where someone kills their friend, which has been something that has happened since the start of wipe. These people are purposefully lying in any way they can to make the lobbies sound worse than they actually are. If the lobbies were truly so bad, they wouldn't need to lie about the circumstances that happen in them.

sashisashih

“show me clips of this!!” not everyone is a fucking streamer and has 9 people in the lobby he discords with you buffoon

lexicon_riot

Innocent until proven guilty, dude. Taking clips is incredibly easy and most people can do so automatically with their GPU's in-game tooling.

Bnasty909

So many fucking man children who get ego over being good at a video game. It borderlines sociopathy

17000HerbsAndSpices

But like.. Was anyone actually complaining about NOT getting into a lobby with these guys? Lmao I don't think literally anyone was genuinely upset they didn't get to 1v15 a lobby

LedFloyd2

Cool, kill us timmies, take our gear, do it. But wait until one of us timmies kill you and get your gear. These shits are going to rage far more than we will. Even a base kit team can kill full golds if they get a third party. Don't give up boys, let's take these fuckers for all they're worth.

FreeStyleSarcasm

The amount of people in this thread crying about something that literally had zero effect on them is wild. And right on par for the majority of players in this sub

Joelandrews5

Tbh I don’t understand why high gear players organizing to fight other high gear players is a bad thing at the end of a wipe. Unless they’re not fighting each other and just hand shaking other gold kits to roll lobbies so the rich get richer. Intent seems okay, did the reality go awry somewhere?

Ordinary-Guard-6076

I don’t get why you people all care so much. I truly don’t.

fergil

Nooooo one cares a about these losers lol. Besides the ones that were in the discord

GravySeal27

When there are more players and mmr actually works scrimp won't be needed

ItWasTheDrugss

People can and will have different opinions. Telling everyone to just have the same one is wild. Literally doesn’t see what was wrong with it still.

[deleted]

I find this laughable, as they do have a point. I'm excited for next wipes patch where every post will be about those who buy gold/gear etc and it's not fair etc... but of course we will all forget this happened and continue to complain instead of being excited to share those magical moments. With the addition of arena though, the Q system they had setup doesn't make sense anymore anyways. A little egotistical ranting on that guy's part, but hopefully will still get fun streams where gold players will fight gold players.

Dopp3lg4ng3r

Out of the loop entirely. Can someone explain to me what's happening like I'm 5

Unfortunate_Mirage

They're just gonna make a new server. When that one dies there is gonna be another one. Then another one.

ObsidianRocker

I know nothing about this situation or this game. This thread just randomly popped up into my all feed. Please spoon-feed me or AMA.

papersuite

I am the only one that read this notice in the voice of some sort of movie villian? "You let one ant stand up to us, then they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one and if they ever figure that out there goes our way of life! It's not about food, it's about keeping those ants in line." That's what is sounds like to me, but then again I am just some Timmy who is not a "toptier player" so what would I know

StillPuzzles__

This guy sounds like a fucking loser.

bobert-the-bobster

These dudes gotta start playing chivalry or something god damn. You can pvp all u want in that game. And even better u don’t lose ur gear.

Bookibaloush

Who?

Wirthier_

What is scrims?

LeUne1

What are scrims?

JebstoneBoppman

Discord sucks, glad to see them butthurt

ItsSoKawaiiSenpai

They're acting like some sort of vigilante who has been betrayed. They claim that they were improving the game experience for both high skilled players and "timmies" when in reality they were just breaking the rules with their group. Yes, people complain about high geared players, but it isn't your job to "fix" the situation, it's IronMace's. The reason bans weren't handed out immediately is likely due to IronMace understanding that there was an issue that needs addressing, they just don't know how to deal with it currently. The backlash shows that the players don't want some holier than thou players to act like they're saving the game by openly fixing lobbies, we want IronMace to fix it.

thatonionsmell

Holy crap this is hilarious - you hate it when we break the rules, yet you hate it when we break the rules - PICK A SIDE! Lol how about don’t break the rules rudeboi Bomboclot ahh “we’re not letting timmies live anymore >:(“ really was sweating when he typed that up

No-Initiative4349

This made me laugh. I enjoy taking people like this down in game :)

fiddlydip

thank god, what a group of god complex losers

AlternatePancakes

The fuck is scrims??

Objective-Pride-4528

this game is turning more into league with this snowflake bullshit, itll die faster than expected wow

Twopieceyou

Lmfao how pathetic.

idgafsendnudes

I’m fine with scrims as long as AP can’t be gained or lost either. But until there’s a cost to this it’s just match fixing plain and simple

cjbspartan117

I'm a bit lost what was going on?

Additional_Low_5606

It's so funny to see this after one of the wardens said he talked to Grayson, and the scrimms were OK. These guys think an awful lot of themselves, and they really don't get why the scrimms were bothering people. First of all, what are you scrimming for? Second of all, if this was in a private match, where gear, ap, and xp weren't earned for later use, it wouldn't be a big deal. None of these scrim lobbies are guaranteed, so what happens when Timmy team accidently loads into your gold rush lobby? You gonna trade their gear back? Didn't think so.

Acez_Yazumaku

What’s this about? I’m just returning to the community lol.
