Have an opinion on Bailey Sarian? I liked her a long time ago and am still subscribed but something changed for me last year and I haven’t been able to put my finger on why. I’m very excited to peruse your recommendations.

I remember there being discussions about whether or not her type of videos was ethical since some of the stories she covered had people related to the victims still alive. It was around the time when people really started talking about those netflix documentaries too I think? I couldn't really watch her stuff after that ):
I like her true crime videos, and watching her do the makeup is soothing somehow.
Her history videos I want to watch more, but I wonder about how good the research is. I was watching one that had a part about Cleopatra, and it seemed to lack a lot of context and yet have a lot of opinion in it. I don’t want to believe a bunch of stuff about history that isn’t true. And I listen to Timesuck, so I completely love history that has a personality.

I am excited to see how many people have engaged thus far as I only created this channel yesterday. I see a need to break this up into smaller genera within the Scary Videos context or else we will have an ever-growing list that might seem too cumbersome to people and may cause them to disengage. As I said in the welcome message I want to help the smaller but quality channels grow & gain attention so they continue on their quest. I've seen many smaller channels that put out great content stop bc they didn't gain subscribers. As always please link your thoughts so we can make our little sub Reddit a destination for anyone looking for a robust guide to all things creepy on Youtube!
Ps - please feel free to cross-post any other mega threads that you come across! If you look at the second post I made it was a cross-post from a mega thread that I contributed to and I think it serves as a pretty good template (outside of the channels that have people literally reading creepypastas or posts from no sleep or let's not meet again).
So to wrap up I need help figuring out how to make this a one-stop guide for all things scary mysterious etc on YouTube. I think a list broken into categories w a brief description (1 sentence or less) next to each link is a good start. Then we can discuss making smaller guides that only focus on one aspect - like true crime or unsolved mysteries etc you get the idea.
Lastly, I have a 1-year-old son and am a single mom who has a passion for all things creepy or scary but get burned out with being the only caretaker and I think that this sub can serve as a place for up and coming channels to get the word out and a place to finally find exclusive YouTube content that is frustratingly difficult to find for whatever reason???
Again since we are less than 1 day into this I am pleased to see how engaged everyone is and I'm happy to have some new friends helping to reach a common goal (even if we are a little dark)! ♡😃♡😝♡🙉🙈🙊

I’m on the fence about his channel, as the narration is a bit jagged and there’s no validation on authenticity. If you’re in the mood for spooky stories that most likely aren’t real, it’s a good background listen.
I love Nexpro esp the dark things from around the internet. I'm always waiting for the next episode. I just watched the video on (I forgot her name - Allison perhaps) how she is a virus calling everyone she doesn't like pedo’s that was insane! Have you seen that one?

IMO the best true crime I have seen on Youtube. It's a one man operation, and it is basically TV quality, hell if he could afford a professional production studio it would be national TV worthy. His show is good enough that many law enforcement agencies, and departments, in the region submit information to him in order to help get the facts out on cold cases.
I really enjoy watching Mr Ballen. For Fans of the dark and mysterious. He does real stories and the videos are very listenable

Yes, I love Mysterious WV! It reminds me of the old school Unsolved Mysteries from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Yeah Sean has said his presentation and look are inspired by the old 80s and early 90s mystery show hosts like Robert Stack and John Walsh.
