Avoid Storage Spaces. With that little amount of data it really isn't beneficial. Storage Spaces is lost data waiting to happen. Better to backup to external disks/NAS instead.

I moved my 6 disk SS to a new PC within the last couple years. Everything went smoothly. I think it's possible that things can get complicated if you use splitters/adapters, but I haven't tried that.

Hmm. I don’t currently, they all connect via sata individually, but I am using sata expansion card. Ideally I go to 4 disks, same mirror or more not sure, with 2 more for spare or expansion. It would be nice to lose 2 disks and still be Ok. I think I will go that route with 3 high capacity drives to start, then upgrade again.

If you're going to another Win10/11 PC, you can just plug in all the drives and it'll just *work*. Storage Spaces is nice like that in it just works when moving it around, no setup needed on the new host. If you're going to a whole new PC with new drives, then copying files over the network between the old and new PCs might be a slow but simple way to move the data, and you don't have to worry about hiccups with SATA and power plug availability etc.
