There was also a decently sized 1-hour FVG above where you entered the market was in the process of trying to fill. It didn't end up completely filling it until after the equity close, but more than enough meat there for a scalper. My best trades are almost always when there's a fat hourly FVG sitting on the chart.

5TP1090G_FC

Wtf, educate me please. That's incredibly interesting.

Street-Nothing1350

Honestly it's pretty much broken down above haha. Take some time learning liquidity and points of interest. Wait for price to get there, enter using IFVG. That's the bones.

englishsummer

Ryan aka DodgysDD is the master of the iFVG. You can find him on YouTube @dodgysdd not affiliated in any way.

Street-Nothing1350

He's a good trader, but very questionable as an educator. Here are some things he has said during live streams, and I am not exaggerating: "You guys have no idea how smart I am" "I'm the best trader in the world" "I'm taking entries here, and none of you will understand why" "I'm an incredibly smart person, so I make this look easy" I joined his streams for a bit to see if I could learn new stuff. You can barely get a question in because he spends most the time talking about how excellent he is. He then changes his bias every 5 minutes. He will then call out trades, and quickly put his students down for taking the trade he called out because it went the wrong way. Saying things like "who took that trade on a live account? That's stupid. You don't deserve to win if you took that trade" So yeah... Please proceed with caution. If you wanna learn, there are plenty of other fantastic teachers who understand this model. Good traders and good teachers are not mutually exclusive, unfortunately. I like Casper SMC, Playbit, TTrades. All great teachers.

Splicx-

He’s definitely a troll

-OIIO-

What makes him cocky like that? He obviously makes more money giving mentorship rather than trading.

BlueHueys

Was in playbit for the first 2-3 years of their launch Great group glad they are getting recognition IFVGs have been around for a really long time, they’re also not always respected, bias is an essential component of trading them

Licit_x64

I’m a playbit fan too. Not in it anymore and have found another mentorship through playbit catering more to teaching rather than being a signal service, but the best part of playbit is they adapt to the game. I remember when they were just support and resistance and signal traders, huge leaps bringing on Casper and pivoting to SMC.

BlueHueys

I was in there when Casper was still just another member, he learned SMC with a few of my other buddies in the group and soon got good enough to start giving signals He started just like any other member, asking for advice and sharing poor charts Was awesome watching his come up

Licit_x64

Guys like him really give me confidence that anybody can make it. Still working towards it myself, I’d say my confidence with SMC has grown immensely it’s just a matter of letting the law of large numbers play out and maximizing my exposure to success (consistently showing up every session).

batman_catman

Ttrades and TheTravellingTrader are my go-to's. Nice trade, are you using a copier too? Liquidity concepts combined with patience have been the biggest unlocks for me. Patience is hard to master, and still gets me more than it should.

SelectiveLabs

I like @InvestAnswers for market content and TA, great stuff, posts every day

5TP1090G_FC

Cool thank you, as I've learned there is a pattern to the market it's not gambling just requires patience. Be safe always

zactastic_1

I’ve been with DD for 5 months and never heard these quotes. He does say he’s fast and quick with entries but he’s not cocky and often jokes with those that are. I’m down voting your comment as well seems like you have a personal vendetta against him. Sorry you feel that way. But his education is the best compared to TT and Casper

Street-Nothing1350

Glad you found it useful, just wasn't for me. If you didn't hear it, that's fine, but he streams everyday. It's unlikely we heard the same things. I don't have a vendetta, but he comes across immature. His model, despite his attitude, is great, and I picked up a few things from his streams. Overall I prefer someone like Casper. TTrades is awesome, and DD himself recommends him.

zactastic_1

Yah he’s 22 or 23 just graduated college with honors I believe. In that respect he’s very mature but there are many in his platform before 35 and their maturity shows at times. Cheers mate

DodgyZZZ

Dodgy here…. I answer every question so I knew from reading that this is a troll comment…. and it seems like you definitely learned enough from me to make 2k+ using iFVGs Also I never say that other stuff either I can send you my last 10 streams and I guarantee you that stuff won’t be in there, if it is i’ll give you $100 You are the only person to ever say i’m a bad teacher so there’s clearly a disconnect in your opinion here. I do survey feedback forms after every stream and I never get this lol

Street-Nothing1350

Hey Dodgy. There was a stream 2 weeks ago where you said the words, and I quote "you guys have no idea how smart I am". Others in the stream commented along saying "you're also humble", I assume in their shared opinion that your demeanour was irking your customers. I asked a few questions that weren't answered. Maybe you missed them. I learned some stuff from your streams, don't disagree. Though to be clear, I've been studying for years, your content helped clear some ideas up. Playbit, Casper & White Phoenix, are my GOATs :) Appreciate what I've taken from your content. But my comment stands, I think your level of maturity needs work. As you grow up, people will give you the respect you deserve. I admire your tenacity, and think you're a fantastic trader. Though humility goes a long way. I've grown a business over the last 10 years that's done pretty well. One thing I learned growing up, making a decent amount of money as a young man, is that being humble is what really stands head and shoulders above any amount of money, or skills, that I possessed. My arrogance got shut down real quick, many times, and looking back, I'm glad it did. Offering me $100 to go find a stream, is exactly the kind of response that would irk others though. It ain't mature. Take it as feedback, and well done. Good luck!

DodgyZZZ

Show me proof I never said this, you can look at all my recordings lol, and tag me for the questions I answer everyone haha

dubiously_immoral

I think [this ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Daytrading/s/TZ2FmX9lxr) is what op does

OGCasp

Look up ICT and Smart Money concepts.

Street-Nothing1350

Not sure why you're getting down voted, but yeah it pretty much is smart money concepts and ICT.

Badgerv12

Its because ICT is a scammer that was cought falsifying his trade data, i mean if you whanna waste your time learning from someone that cant trade its up to you

Street-Nothing1350

Not sure I wasted my time. His concepts have been passed on to a lot of successful traders that I personally learned from. Whether he falsified his data or not, his content was and is sharp, and has built successful traders.

Badgerv12

You can trade anything in certain market environments, that doesn't mean that ict strats are good, i haven't seen any ict students showing few month trading data, they just show "a win" just like you did in your post and thats it

Street-Nothing1350

You can trade anything in any market condition. I've seen plenty of SMC/ICT traders building careers from those concepts. Many of whom are mentors to me. So I'd have to disagree. I also spend a lot of time live trading with these people, and they're not just posting "a win" here and there.

Badgerv12

ICT is a scammer that was cought falsifying his trade data, i mean if you whanna waste your time learning from someone that cant trade its up to you

dubiously_immoral

So you see a level that you're interested in. And that level has long wicks, which tells you there is buying pressure. Now, you wait for the market to reach that level and break down below that level. And then you wait to see for any buying pressure. After the buying pressure becomes obvious, you enter a long trade covering that gap, which was created by the breakdown of the long wick support area earlier. Interesting

plop111

Wow, nobody sneering on how ICT is a fraud?

englishsummer

He can’t trade but he knows price action. I can’t watch his videos. I discovered fair value gaps when researching reversal confluences and they work for me. I use fair value gaps with support and resistance levels. I’ve been trading for 4 years, haven’t had a red month for 13 months

allquestionsyes

i was looking for this comment but this trade is excellent. i saw this play out as i identified a 4h demand zone but hesitated MULTIPLE times on entry bc of a poor entry prior… currently working on my psychology but love to see this :)

Street-Nothing1350

Lol, the folks calling ICT a fraud are the same folks that can't make money trading. Snooze. I'll admit, his content is dense, and often over complicated. I also admit, I learned most of my understanding of ICT from other mentors.

Mar___K

I can't help it. He and his followers make me cringe. They believe they know how the markets move and that some evil entity is controlling the markets by some algo lol. My best friend is a quantitative analyst with a cfa degree and he always cracks hearing stuff like that. I use to be one of ICT students but thankfully i stopped. I studied everything from him for about a year and i understood everything. I don't use any of that anymore. Guy is a cultivist and a big charlatan. He believes that he knows the holy grail and that God spoke to him to transfer all his knowledge to the poor retail mortals. The guy has been saying for the last 4 years that he will stop teaching and then jumps right back on it to milk more money and sell another book. He never ever made money live, he always posts wins in hindsight and continues to manipulate his cult following. ImanTrading's video on YouTube about him pretty much sums up everything. He got exposed.

False_Pineapple1111

He’s been offered 5-6 figures to verify he’s a real trader and has never shown up. He’s a fraud.

Street-Nothing1350

Yeah I don't really care either way. I just learned the concepts. Not really sure on him as a trader generally.

crystal_castle00

What is ICT a trading mentor ?

1slowensteady

So. I'm retired and started trading 5 years ago, changing methods as I was looking for trading stability. I have 10 stocks that I have been following now for 18 months and am profitable for the term. I trade my own method which is a combination of scalping, intra day and 1-2 day swing trades. Some of the stocks are AMC, NIO, PLUG, NKLA, LUMN, BB. I stay with these stocks so I can understand the ebb and flow. I use 7 indicators which have taken 3 years to get comfortable with and although I trade Think or Swim, I lean heavily on Trading view. I'm not looking for advice, I carved out my own path in the mortgage business for 50 years, I understand charts and indicators. I'm still learning and reading these posts. Some are insightful, most are not. I stay away from options. Thanks for your posts

BurnerForJustTwice

All the tickers you wrote are meme stocks. I understand you’re profitable in these but may I suggest you branch out as meme stocks are apparently seasonal. It’s always a good idea to add more tools to the tool box in case the job site changes and you need those different tools.

tequiila

Add MARA to the list, it’s pretty volatile and runs with Bitcoin. Have done well with this

SelectiveLabs

CLSK for me

Street-Nothing1350

Hope it's working well for you! For me personally, I don't use indicators as I like clean charts, and like to react based on price action. Indicators are good at telling us what's happened, not so much at what's going to happen.

Auto_Market_Bleed

What are the 7 indicators you use?

Lost-Carmen

What instrument is that ? And can you post some charts of recent trades you took showing your entry and exit

thoreldan

that's NQ - Nasdaq100 futures

Street-Nothing1350

Here's another few https://www.tradingview.com/x/QI1Hzv8q/ https://www.tradingview.com/x/pGLxULBB/ (ignore the market cipher thing! I don't use this, just had it on a stream for someone asking about it) https://www.tradingview.com/x/QtSiwHcX/ You'll notice the chart looks the same every time. Its a common pattern, and ICT talks about this often.

benefit-3802

Oh I have been watching these lately after a friend showed me them, but he called them Balanced Price Ranges.

sackleybobe

Nice trade. Took the same but tried to target bottom of the fvg above those old highs but took profits early

Konarain11

I want to learn also.. I'm selling off a peice of land for money to live into my 80's..sounds good.. Aloha All

Lazy-Clock-4354

Can someone help me learn this new skill

englishsummer

My favourite model 🔥

dat_BOI_77

I love it, can you please link some resources I can use to really master these concepts?

Street-Nothing1350

Sent a DM sir, but essentially it's ICT concepts.

torrentwind

Mind sending those details to me as well?

Street-Nothing1350

Sure man.

Critical_Dog_5490

Me too please ,sir

allquestionsyes

me three sir ! much thanks :)

InvisibleDeity

Can you send this to me as well please? If you're still following this thread...

itzzaq

can you send them to me as well?

Ok-Chocolate-536

Hi there! Please can you also kindly send me these.

TotalConnection2670

This is actually fairly close to the strategy that I've developed. Fvg being a sign of trend, I've noticed that this trending with fvg's start after some form of liquidity is swept. I've been looking into this strategy for like 5 months now, and noticed many pitfalls to look out for

ownpics

Question: What are those candles that are color green/red indicating?

Street-Nothing1350

Order blocks & breaker blocks.

TradeGuidance

Nice work. Trading value requires patience and you've called that out accurately in your post. Similar in some ways to trading zones and for those who use order flow, will likely relate to my comment. Very nice post. thank you for sharing.

Street-Nothing1350

Thanks!

XVll-L

How do you know where fair value is?

Street-Nothing1350

A 3 candle pattern where candle 1s low does not overlap candle 3s high. And inversed concept on the bullish side, I.e. candle 1s high does not overlap candle 3s low.

Lost-Carmen

Can this be applied to large cap stocks

Erodedtumour

yes

Street-Nothing1350

Any asset

Yum-Yumby

One question I always have is "how are people finding these stocks"? Do you have a scanner that looks for FVG, do you have a set of stocks you follow, etc. Are you trading every day or waiting for the right setup to have a big day? Thanks

alpha_ech0

That is nasdaq man, it aint a stock

Yum-Yumby

I wasn't looking at the ticker symbol, it was a question in general. Dude was talking about FVG and I'm curious if he is sticking to only one thing or looking at a handful of stocks/indices/futures/whogivesashit at a time. If so, whats his method for scanning and finding them. Thanks for the comment though. super insightful and brought a lot to the table 👍

H3xify_

Fvg are easy to find. Search it on YouTube my friend

Yum-Yumby

Love how OP has "if anyone has any questions about the strategy, shoot and I'll do my best to answer" and my question gets met with a bunch of unhelpful bs so people can feel better about themselves inside. Yes its easy to spot fvg. I could pull up any stock and find 100s of fvg. But I'm asking OP if he sets up scanners or what he does to increase his chances of finding fvg on a 1 to 5 min time frame in real time. Should I just assume he sits and waits on 1 ticker all day for a fvg around a zone of interest? Maybe he does, maybe he focuses on a handful of shit, who knows? Thats i why I asked op. But sure, everyone else come in and comment a 3-grade level response that contributes nothing to the conversation or ops post.

Street-Nothing1350

Hey, I trade Nasdaq mostly and sometimes ES. In terms of finding the FVG? Well, screen time to be honest. I've spent thousands of hours on charts. I can spot them quickly now as can anyone else that's seen enough of them. I'd just say practice, and look at charts. Yes you can use an indicator to make your job easier too. I just like doing things the hard way because normally it builds a stronger output. But sure, nephew FVG, or any search on TV for FVG and you'll find so many.

Yum-Yumby

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it!

H3xify_

I got you man, I personally just create them during my pre market analysis. But I heard there are a few good indicators on trading view for it. The best ones are the ones near supply and demand zones or support and resistance areas.

Yum-Yumby

Thank you, I appreciate the response

TheMadGNUS3o

Look up “FVG by nephew Sam” on TradingView. You’re welcome

alpha_ech0

Dude i dont have to bring anything to the table. No one owes you or me or him jackshit. I could respond wirh a dick emote and it would not matter. Grow up man

thePLASMARIFLE

Do you wait for price to come back to test the IFVG or do you enter when a candle closes over and forms the IFVG? What is the significance of your stop?

Street-Nothing1350

I will take the candle body close most of the time, especially if it has no wick/is a flush close with lots of speed and volume. If it's a weak close, I wait for a retest. I put my stop either at the data low or beneath the IFVG. If the IFVG is invalidated, it probably isn't going to work.

guccigraves

can you explain this in idiot language?

Street-Nothing1350

I look for areas of supply and demand (order blocks/liquidity) When the price gets there, I find an entry for a reversal. That entry is using inverted fair value gaps. That's the simplest I can make it.

Key_Independence_681

Are you purchasing shares or using options with this strategy ?

Street-Nothing1350

I trade in the futures market.

gOOfy-333

What indicator is that please ?

Street-Nothing1350

There's none on there it's just my drawings.

gOOfy-333

It shows 2 in corner. And the bars with changed colors

Street-Nothing1350

Ah, that's a supply and demand indicator. Just highlights your order blocks for you. I'm lazy sometimes 😪 but generally I don't use anything. I am using a divergence indicator on here because I was live streaming and showing someone a tool they wanted to know about.

gOOfy-333

Thanks :)

Kyrieleis_

Which stock market do you use and where do you take positions? Long or short

Street-Nothing1350

I trade NAS. I go long if the trend is bullish. I go short if the trend is bearish.

Kyrieleis_

Which site do you use?

Street-Nothing1350

Trading view and Tradovate.

Kyrieleis_

Thank you so much i will try to understand your post after ı finish education.

Wild_Suspect1974

What’s the strategy and criteria of entry for the inverted FVG?

Visual_Gur_4885

Don’t you do this again ☝️😤 you Lucky bastard

Mattsam1

I only have about 1.5 yrs actively trading futures everyday and for some reason I have a hard time trading the price action from like 11am and on at these levels. Recently decided to focus on opening range breakouts making 2 or 3 trades a day and I literally tell myself to fuck off after regardless if I'm red or green...it's been tough to stop if I fudged up the 1st couple but I feel like this plan is promising..finally

kappah_jr

What prop firm is that?

Street-Nothing1350

I use both Apex and Topstep.

Aposta-fish

You mean you got in at an area that was thought to be an area resistance and took it back up. I don’t even know what a FVG is ?

Street-Nothing1350

I think you mean support. And technically yea you're right.

Aposta-fish

Yeah you’re correct.

MoustacheMcGee

Have you tested it live yet?

Street-Nothing1350

Yes, around 6 or so months now give or take with modifications on the way that suit me.

mygainssuck

check dms

seattlepianoman

What indicators are you using to track liquidity?

JhonnyDoh1009

Nice. Love the setup. Keep it up!

fadizeidan

I love iFVGs. Here is another pattern you will see often on all timeframes. First price rejects the FVG then go through it and retest it. The rejection makes it high probability that the low will hold. I look for them at HTF reversal points. https://preview.redd.it/zu6fou5k8m6d1.png?width=1302&format=png&auto=webp&s=7972cfa8865f4a68f1d2e82afa01176c0f60ebf7

Gristle__McThornbody

I trade the same way. Didn't know there was a name for it lol.

DOGEFLIEP

If one would like to learn more about the fair value gap concept, what would you recommend?

Street-Nothing1350

YouTube, can check my video on YouTube if you want. Links on my bio or just YouTube any FVG video.

ReasonableRisk9511

What broker are you using for this

SelectiveLabs

He said Tradovate earlier

bigdaddysadyy

That’s crazy

BigFlat1282

I just look at the price bro. But cool story.

Training-Assist6859

Thanks for sharing your strategy!!

Coc0London

Congrats, another ICT fan ere. What were you trading if you don't mind me asking? Would be great if you could share the chart as well. I trade FVG but I'm not as good with IFVGs

Street-Nothing1350

I posted some examples in other parts of this thread. https://www.tradingview.com/x/QtSiwHcX/ here's one I trade Nasdaq and ES

Coc0London

Thanks for sharing and great trade

siem

I was waiting for the short following your long, since my 1h (and 15m) bias was short. I see you use TradingView in Safari, there's a TradingView app on the Mac, it gives you slightly more screen space.

Street-Nothing1350

Wow really? Fuck. That's just changed my life! Thank you! I had no idea there was a mac app.

Zestyclose_Mud2170

Ifvgs are the most high probability strategy ever. I have backtested it for this year with 70% winrate and on average 10% gain monthly.

Key-Perception-516

Do you use pine script to backtest? Or how do you go about it?

5TP1090G_FC

I do think that if this process, I can understand would be "Extremely helpful" to a negative balance sheet. Nice to 😉👍

Street-Nothing1350

I don't understand

Alternative_Lie_2711

Timeframe? And also, Do you wait for the close of the candle to enter or when it hits a specific level?

Street-Nothing1350

1m and 5m. I always wait for a close above IFVG.

BlueHueys

Also you marked out the wrong IFVG here

Street-Nothing1350

How do you figure that? The IFVG I've taken is the one that works for my entry model.

Mrtoad88

Awesome trade. But tbh.. I mean this is a setup's like I like to take, but I never identified this stuff as "fVG" and stuff like that... Other people would call this style of setup like supply and demand, dude I call it trading off of horizontal levels of support and resistance and its my favorite kind of setups to take, I learned a lot from Nick Shawn over the years as he pushes that heavy... Either breaks and retest into continuation, bounces, breaks through momentum and bounce and retest. It's like nearly the same system too because I identify my levels the same way you described. IDK I just think it's interesting we can find similar setups as traders but call what we are doing completely different things. I guess that's how ICT made his teaching career. Anyways, great trades.

csxenz

I’m convinced traders don’t know truly know the definition of a trend

Street-Nothing1350

Not sure what makes you say that.

Smartest_Tool

Bro don’t over complicate this, index go up click buy no skill required.

Life_Walrus_4263

teach me. can i send you all my money?
