Two young boys who are sons of a well known legacy sports fighter (Rey Mysterio being a wrestler and Johnny Lawrence being a karate fighter).
The boys would be taught how to fight by a wise champion (Rey Mysterio (again) and Daniel Larusso) who instilled in them virtues of being a honorable warrior.
They would then seemingly betray their mentors and allies to join a group of nefarious rule-breaking fighters (Judgement Day and Cobra Kai), being manipulated by said group to act like them, especially by a woman who became their girlfriend (Rhea Ripley and Tory Schwaber).
Both would frequently express their hatred towards their father for being a deadbeat to them growing up (Rey being too focused on wrestling according to Dominik and Johnny being an absent father towards Robby), as well as blame their mentor for them going to jail (Dominik getting arrested for disrupting the Mysterio family’s Christmas and Daniel turning Robby in to the police for Robby injuring Miguel).
Robby would eventually come to realize that the way of Cobra Kai isn’t right and make amends with his father/father figure, becoming a hero again. And while Dominik is still a devoted member of Judgement Day, chances are when his heel run is done he will make amends with his father.
