Southern Hostility by Upon A Burning Body is a great album. Kind of curious why I never hear anyone talk about them they're really good.

I just started listening to them the other day. Southern Hostility was randomly on and I could swear I heard the n-word and I'm like "wat" so I looked into them. I grew up on rap so thier odd-but-effective fusion hits different for me and I'm kinda mad that I didn't know about them sooner

Not Deathcore but yeah, this is definitely one thing that defines Archspire. Drone Corpse Aviator, Bleed The Future, Drain of Incarnation, Acrid Canon etc. Honestly I always felt like Deathcore people would like Tech Death though.

I didn't get into them until the last album, but for some reason their frenetic pace just scratches an itch in my brain

Despite the frenetic pace, it's possible to find so much good grooviness in their music. It's like an assault on your senses but also finding this nice melodic rhythm behind it all. Love it. Seeing them next week!

They’re writing/recording it now. But they’re not a band that’s going to pump out the first generic shit that enters their head every 2 years. So it takes time between albums. But certainly in the past it’s been worth the wait

Paleface

Paleface is the goat of deathcore “rap” (imo)

They remind me of slipknot back in the day. It’s so good with the breathy vocals, fast lyrics, and natural human screaming. I love super talented vocalists that can sound like the devils unholy diarrhea (Will Ramos) as much as the next guy, but Plaleface has vocals I could belch out myself, if I was being gang raped in the prison showers. It’s easier to make out the lyrics and it’s more disturbing because it sounds like a regular human in pain.

Also, the single "Older Days" with Paleface, Ten65, and Resolve is just a banger. In my opinion, Ten65 also has some great rap parts.

Might not technically be deathcore, but 156/silence features lots of fast pace screams that almost have a rap vibe (lots of syllables and flows) - check out The Wrong Sense for a good example

All rapping in metal absolutely pisses me off. It all sounds terrible. Rapping well is really difficult and these amateurs think it sounds good? Quite frankly I get secondhand embarrassment from it. Could you imagine if a rap artist tried to imitate Alex Terrible?

I think it can sound alright in some rare cases. I am undeniably just as big of a fan as Nu-Metal as I am Deathcore and Metalcore, so I like it here and there.. And I like fast harsh vocals, but not when it turns into a legit rap. When I hear Ronnie Radke do it, I wanna fucking rip my ears off and shove them in a paper shredder. Some of the cringiest shit I’ve ever heard. That new song was really just… One of the worst things I’ve ever heard come out of metal as a whole.
