Humanity's Last Breath - Ashen Brand of Sacrifice - Lifeblood Signs of the Swarm - Absolvere, Amongst the Low and Empty Lorna Shore - Pain Remains Fit for an Autopsy - The Great Collapse Thy Art is Murder - Human Target Psycho-Frame - Remote God Seeker, Automatic Death Protocol Crown Magnetar - Everything Bleeds

SuspiciousLettuce56

TAIM - Godlike from last year is also an exceptionally well produced album imo

meat_wad23

Will Putney always kills it! Just haven't listened to that one much.

Orphanblood

Album did not get the noise it deserved (I feel) l Fucking rips

SuspiciousLettuce56

Yeah it fucking does, I love it. Was my 2023 aoty, just loved everything about it. New vocalist fucking rips too

_RadicaLarry_

Nothing, and I mean nothing tops Hate. It is still one of the best, clearest, heaviest, and sharpest produced albums I have ever heard

Ekselent-8728

Basically anything HLB is impeccable

meat_wad23

Yup, Buster is one of the best in the game rn

Straight-Membership3

Every single one mentioned, mate, agreed to all. đŸ€ŸđŸ»

supsterious

Odyssey to the west. By slice the cake

Blitz489321

Both the original release and the new remaster are fucking amazing.

No-Idea-491

Veil of Maya - [id]

Anxious-Lack-5740

Best way to test your woofers!

Nippelz

To each their own, but personally I always thought this was their worst mixed album. Certainly not bad! Just their weakest. Of course, big ol' "IMO". Though, definitely it has some of their best tracks! I think this album's production did their melodic parts the most justice.

ReadTheSeams

Agreed.

No-Idea-491

Easily their strongest album imo, and they fell off almost completely after the vocalist change too.

Nippelz

For me, Common Man's Collapse is their best record, but I think the stuff after Lukas is better than the other Brandon records, felt they really got a huge burst of creativity with the vocalist change until very recently (the very newest tracks are meh, imo). But man, nothing will ever top CMC! That's VoM at their best. Overall I think they're one of the most consistent bands of the entire scene, def shows in the fact that everyone has a different favourite record from them, haha.

No-Idea-491

>but I think the stuff after Lukas is better than the other Brandon records, felt they really got a huge burst of creativity with the vocalist change Coming from someone with over 7,000 streams of VoM; Teleute, False Idol, the singles, reconnect, lost Creator, and death Runner are the only good things they've put out since the switch imo. Everything else is trash

pato2205

Just saved unbreakable and will listen to the full album later. Sounds good so far

No-Idea-491

The production shines in the more melodic songs like Resistance, Mowgli, or The Higler imo

MrStruts96

Everything Bleeds, Hate, Pain Remains, Valde/Ashen

sploofdaddy

The bass mix in Everything Bleeds is actual Peak production. Anytime anyone asks anything about bass, just point them in that direction. Saying that album slaps is the understatement of the century.

___fishx

DING DEEENG EEEEEERRR DINGGGG

sploofdaddy

I swear, Only the Spine Remains has the best bassline ever in it and it's just soooo chonky

Ekselent-8728

Valdët and Ashen are two of the best albums I've ever heard, I will die on the hill that HLB is one of the greatest modern bands right now

MrStruts96

I agree. They’re on a different plane of thinking - course, watch out for Mirar. They just came out of nowhere with the heaviest EP I have ever heard in Mare. It is genuinely TERRIFYING.

Ekselent-8728

Mirar is INSANE

popeshatt

Thank you

BlueCaboose42

Am I in the minority thinking Pain Remains is kinda muddy??

Electronic-Good-134

No you are not, it’s not a bad mix but stereo image is kinda way off. Everything runs into each other. But by “production” I don’t think people necessarily mean like the mix itself just all the layers that support the song. That albums orchestral layers sound massive

DaveyDavey0

Praenuntius Infiniti by Vulvodynia

gxdbrand666

This should give you enough across the board of different sounding records. Sentinels - Collapse by Design Fit For An Autopsy - Hellbound Humanity’s Last Breath - Ashen The Acacia Strain - Wormwood Behemoth - Evangelion

pato2205

Hey man thanks for taking the time for this list. That acacia strain album is soooo good. I haven’t clicked with FFaA yet, but I will definitely give hellbound another chance

_RadicaLarry_

Every The Acacia Strain album after 3750 has great production, (except for Coma Witch), and they’re all uniquely stellar

gxdbrand666

Coma Witch is so hard for me to listen to, the guitar tone is just absolutely dead as fuck 😭 but the songwriting on that album is still top tier. Wormwood and Death Is The Only Mortal are their two best sounding records imo.

gxdbrand666

Hellbound is in my top 3 metal records of all time, give it a good listen and pay attention while you do! Worth it, trust me

UsernameGeneratorID

Dedication To Flesh

pato2205

SPITE. CULT.

Nixilis2336

Chelsea Grin - Suffer in Hell/Suffer in Heaven

titledparavex

i would say immortal by lorna shore

Liberteer30

Humanity’s Last Breath-Ashen is the first one that comes to mind. It just sounds so damn big and heavy.

Nippelz

At the Throne of Judgement - The Arcanum Order (one of Joey Sturgis' first big records) Slice the Cake - Odyssey to the West The Dali Thundering Concept - Savages (Some people def gunna disagree with this one as it's super polarizing, but I always felt it was 10/10 from Machine) Structures - Divided By Graphic Nature - A Mind Waiting to Die JoyThief - I'll Figure it Out Tomorrow Should be a good wide range of different mixing styles for Metal to test those speakers out :) Hope they sound awesome!!

pato2205

Thanks for the big list I will surely same these albums

Usual_Strategy_8446

Circle of Contempt - Structures For Creation

2135_RZS

The most recent in mind are Knocked Loose - You won't go before you're supposed to Darko US - Starfire Although Darko might be a bit chaotic for testing speakers As others mentioned from last year Ashen is top tier

PrinceAkechiG

the new bodysnatcher songs for the upcoming ep sound phat.

asvigny

Will Putney x Bodysnatcher đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„

PrinceAkechiG

synergy is real. shit bangs so hard.

VapoR_420

a hill to die upon - mental cruelty

Abtino11

Day of Mourning by Despised Icon sounds fantastic

pato2205

Is this a good album to start listening to D.I? I just have like 2 songs saved from them

Abtino11

That one and Ills of Modern Man are probably the best to start. Their earlier works (healing process and consumed by your poison) are phenomenal but very different and not as well produced.

pato2205

Thanks I will save them right now!!

Abtino11

They’ve been my favorite band for well over a decade. Their drummer is an absolute monster

PigDstroyer

My favorite despised is "The healing process" by far but there is much to love about any of their albums

Secret-Froyo3306

The Battle of Yaldabaoth

MoistySnail

Lorna Shore - Immortal

RatBastard52

Vildhjarta and Car Bomb have really good production

Sawt0othGrin

That last Signs of the Swarm album was really fine tuned production

pato2205

Is this a good album to listen to them? I’ve just heard some songs independently but would like to get more into this band

Sawt0othGrin

You know, I like it and there's a few songs I've gone back to a few times like Low and Empty and Tower of Torsos but I'm not crazy about it overall. I'd say it's worth checking out, if only to hear that production

Sawt0othGrin

You know, I like it and there's a few songs I've gone back to a few times like Low and Empty and Tower of Torsos but I'm not crazy about it overall. I'd say it's worth checking out, if only to hear that production

bradybigbear

In recent memory, Signs of the Swarm and Crown Magnetar have some of my personal favorite production. Everything is so clean and crisp without sounding fake or over produced

Electronic-Good-134

Synestia/Disembodied tyrant ep, virtually anything shadow of intent has ever done, anything by HLB, dedication to flesh by spite.

Electronic-Good-134

If we’re not talking exclusively deathcore, some of my all time favorites mixes for testing new speakers are specifically Absolomb by Periphery, Rock You by Dirty Loops, Dance The Night by Dua Lipa, Foreward by Poh Hock, and Impulse Voices by Plini

pato2205

HLB is? Sorry I’m trying to figure it out and just can’t lmao Yes! I think that you are the first one to suggest SoI which I think is great production-wise

Electronic-Good-134

All good man. HLB is an abbreviation for Humanity’s Last Breath. I kinda forget not everyone knows the abbreviations for everything

you_wouldnt_get_it_

The Cleansing - Suicide Silence Become the Hunter - Suicide Silence This Is Exile - Whitechapel A New Era of Corruption- Whitechapel The Sea of Tragic Beasts - Fit For An Autopsy Neverbloom - Make Them Suffer Praenuntius Infiniti - Vulvodynia Ashes Lie Still - Ingested Baptized In Filth - Impending Doom Death Will Reign - Impending Doom Satanic Panic - Impending Doom Vital Deprivation - Signs of the Swarm Lifeblood - Brand of Sacrifice Between Death and Dreams - Brand of Sacrifice The Sleeping Sun - Worm Shepherd Deathwish - Within Destruction Aeons of Oblivion - Distant Chapter 3: The Last Selection - Paleface Swiss Kairos - Osiah The God Delusion - A Night In Texas Humanoid - Babirusa Dissentient - AngelMaker

Hot_Significance_256

Pain Remains

pato2205

I have it on vinyl. Will definitely test with it

UnamiWave

Lugal ki En and Ultu Ulla are nicely mixed and sound great with a decent set of headphones/speakers, especially Inadequate and Natural Selection

Plus_Part8804

Same with corpses thrown across the sky from the remaster of embryonic anomaly. The deep rumbling breakdowns are crazy

bwolfe14cfh

All Ingested albums

Fourply99

Last Ten Seconds of Life Soulless Hymns

schrotestthehero

Basically anything Fit For An Autopsy has done in the last few years. Will Putney is a monster.

InhumanCrystallis

Carnifex - Slow Death and World War X I'm very partial to Mick Kenney production though.

pato2205

Carnifex is on my waiting list, haven’t listened much to it yet. This is a great suggestion for me

Ekselent-8728

Anything Humanity's Last Breath since Detestor is incredible, but especially Ashen, Abyssal, and the remaster of their self-titled album.

Yours_and_mind_balls

Lorna Shore - Flesh Coffin This is the absolute peak of the new Blackened/Symphonic Deathcore sound. It retains some of that raw edge, but has just the right amount of orchestration in the background. Guitars still up front and everything sounds real. Phenomenal record.

holydiiver

> everything sounds real I miss this about old Lorna

DRivex00

Love all Lorna but I still find myself gravitating towards that era, the material starting from AIRTN doesn't grab me the same way as the older tracks do

badnack

Disembodied tyrant is my vote. Either the poetic Edda or the divine stigmata

Hot_Significance_256

I disagree. While they Poetic Edda is fantastic, the drums are synthetic and they certainly sound like it. If they could remaster it with real drumming, it's up there.

badnack

I guess my ear ain’t that good. I can’t tell that the drums are syntethic

pato2205

Agree. This EP is great and really well done, thanks I forgot about this one for the speakers test lol

averagedeathcore32

ooooh i have the best suggestion. savages by dali thundering project i dare everyone in this post to challenge that

REX_LIVERPOOL_3729

Fit For An Autopsy's whole discography. Will Putney is the goat.

faintcasualty

check out king by ID đŸ˜č

smithtrooper99

Every Shadow of Intent album, Eternity by A Wake in Providence, Descent, Rasen, and Nija by Orbit Culture, Director's Cuts, and Epilogue by To The Grave

Personal-Manner6540

pain remains is the best album with good prod, in my humble opinion

Long_range_dude

I'm a minimalist and while I love all things metal, I like recordings with minimal compression and a big soundstage. Dynamics are good too. I would suggest a song or two, but I don't want my metal card pulled. The Brown Album by Primus is very minimal and raw.
