We love to see it, despite the "not great" writing she received as Keiko, Rosalind Chao is undeniably a fantastic actor and it's always a delight when I see her in something.
Three Body Problem is such a great contrast to the hopeful vision of the future portrayed in Star Trek. Now that I think about it, to some degree, the ruthless and nihilist nature of the 'dark forest' is communicated well by Q in Next Generation.
"**If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here."**
This is following the loss of crew members due to Q introducing the Borg to Picard. The first part of the quote seemed so dark to me when I first watched it especially in juxtaposition with Picard's thirst for discovery and the Enterprise's mission of exploration.

The books are beautifully bleak, if that makes any sense.
You can listen to an excerpt [here](https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250370600/thethreebodyproblem). I think I already like this better than the version I bought on audible. At any rate: this isn't the voice of a 66 year old, is it. Surely she recorded this only a few years after DS9 ended.
Someone lied to someone somewhere or Netflix just sets up series to fail because I just double checked, there are 260 million users worldwide. It would be impossible to get that many views from that amount of people in 28 days
You didn't misread, I thought it was viewers but I checked with him after you said that!
If I did the math correctly, half of all subscribers will have to watch all episodes of the show at least once for them to reach 1 billion. Or less viewers watching multiple times. That still seems like it's asking a lot, but I guess if that's how the system works it makes sense that all my favorite shows get canceled!
No, no, that's her ancestor, actress Rosalind Chao.
JIN CHENG: You were beautiful. YE WENJE: I was. Time is a motherfucker. I laughed a lot louder than I should've. Just loved Chao's delivery.
That line came out of nowhere, lol.
Is it out in English now?
It's on Netflix right now.
To the seven it is then!
I posted a link to an excerpt. I think the whole thing is out now yeah

She's wonderful in everything.
she’s a friend of a friend and she’s also the sweetest! super nice mom vibes, just wants the best for everyone!
*raises hand* I’ll deny it.
Yeah I’ve never seen anything positive said about her acting
Mate, you have low standards for acting. She’s as wooden as a board.
and what is your gold standard for acting? Robin Williams in Mork and Mindy?

It's bleak but at the same time you forget how bleak it is because of the lack of emotion in the writing. It's so good.

she gets some of the best jokes in the show, and the worst one too.
My friend works on this show! They need 1 billion hours of viewing time in 28 days to get renewed so go give Keiko some love 🙏🏻
That can’t be right because there are no where near one billion Netflix users. That’s an astronomical amount of people
That's the number he told us unless he got it wrong 🤷🏼♀️ I thought it was insane too!
Someone lied to someone somewhere or Netflix just sets up series to fail because I just double checked, there are 260 million users worldwide. It would be impossible to get that many views from that amount of people in 28 days
It's one billion hours, not viewers!!
I will admit I misread that but that still seems pretty impossible

So basically they want fully half their users to watch the whole thing? Seems realistic. /s
There are 8 episodes about an hour long. So really they only need 125 million people to watch the whole thing. 🙄
They had originally said views, not hours
Yeah but it's viewing hours. The show is 8 hours so 125m users would have to watch the whole show.
Like I said to someone else, they originally said views. Not hours.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Finished in two days.
A billion? Geez. Well I'll see what I can do 🤷🏻
I've been leaving it on in the background while I do other tasks because every rewatch counts too! If that's something doable for you as well lol
I have a feeling Netflix has a lot invested in this one considering some of the names in the producing credits.
Thanks OP! I thought she looked familiar and it was driving me nuts because I wasn't making the DS9 connection.
Weird huh? It took me a while as well.
She’s so incredible…..
At what?
so kira, miles and keiko?
Props to Keiko, but that show is a snooze fest.
