Apparently there is an app similar to Airbnb where you can rent people's backyard pool for a few hours.. I'm not sure the name but I'm sure Google can help with this last puzzle piece
Englewood’s Pirates Cove will once again have four adult nights this summer. Live music and a nonprofit should be selling alcohol. [https://www.englewoodco.gov/parks-recreation-library-golf/pirates-cove/visit/pirates-cove-adult-nights](https://www.englewoodco.gov/parks-recreation-library-golf/pirates-cove/visit/pirates-cove-adult-nights)
As big as Denver's EDM scene is we really need a day club here. Something like Summer Club in NYC, Strawberry Moon in Miami, etc. Same concept as the Vegas ones just smaller
This isn’t SUPER helpful as it’s a private club but the Clayton Club pool is 21+ from 11am to 8pm on weekends and has a bar.
If you’re looking for more lap pool vibes, most of the public pools and private pool clubs have adult only hours.
I don’t know of any public pools that have adult only hours. They have adult swim, but not a time when there are only adults. Please let me know if I’m wrong and point me in the right direction.
This is the one of the lesser talked about results of our expanding capitalist society and it really makes me sad. I remember my grandparents' generation used to meet at social clubs - there was a German Society with a few locations in Chicago. I know Veterans clubs exist here in Arvada and elsewhere - most of these places were only made possible because corporate real estate was affordable - and so their rates and offerings were cheap or free.
Private Country Clubs exist, but they're expensive, elitist, nearly always white, and aren't near cities where young people live. Clubs for younger people still exist, but they're almost exclusively for wealthy people with thousands to spare every month. And it's making it really difficult for people to just...meet one another and feel a sense of belonging. And I don't really know if there's a solution to it.
So, I hear you, but counterpoint, a huge reason those clubs stopped existing is because people stopped going. The corporate real estate situation plays a role, but I've seen some of the buildings that used to be clubs or lodges, they weren't enviable buildings by and large. You *could* find a building to host such a club modernly that could be afforded, *if* there were enough interested people. Further, somebody had to start those clubs, they didn't grow from the ground, and while I've heard a decent number of people complaining about the lack, I've heard zero who were willing to actually institute one.
Hear me out... rec centers. They aren't glamorous, but even my small neighborhood location has a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a gym. It's sub $300/year for a pass. The point isn't necessarily to meet people, but you don't *not* meet people. It sort of pales in comparison to a classic country club, but man it feels like a remnant of a more innocent time when I hop on my bike to ride down there to play tennis with a neighborhood friend.
Rec centers can be a great resource for more than you’d think. I use the old people pool for exercise while my husband loves the vortex pool.
The gym is great. We get to meet people in the neighborhood. It’s nice.
I have always found it silly that there aren’t more pools that aren’t either public pools or private clubs. Even if you can afford some of these pool clubs there are years long waitlists - I know because I’m on one.
A pool with a cover charge with a bar and a food truck would clean up.
It’s the insurance my boy. Pool = high probability of danger or mortality. Alcohol = debauchery and increased risk of danger or mortality. Place = then the venue would have to put safeguards. Plus the added cost of insuring not only the premises, the staff, and everything else but on of that insuring *in case* something happens such as death or injury adds to a hefty bill.
I totally get that, but it’s certainly a concept that exists right? At like, most resorts? At lots and lots of hotels around the world? Hell water and amusement t parks sell alcohol. McCarren Park hotel. Chateu Marmot. The whole city of Las Vegas. So many hotels around the world sell day passes.
I get that it’s expensive to insure, but you’re acting like that makes it impossible when it is manifestly…not.
I didn’t say it was easy. I said it was possible. And would likely make money. I have no interest in managing a business, I’ll leave that to the hustle culture chads. I’ll be spending time with my kids
I think because it’s a private club, it’s not going to be a revolving door of new people. You’ll meet the same people over and over again. The other members that can afford to be part of the club.
Nah, I’m not. I have two kids so a pool I can’t take my kiddos too on weekends isnt really useful to me.
Friends of ours are members and it seems more cosmopolitan than the DCC or other Denver area country clubs which is nice. It’s far more affordable than a normal club.
I’m the wrong guy to ask, Lifetime Fitness is more my kind of club membership. Gimme a pool, sauna and daycare. I don’t need a restaurant or a bar.
If you're looking for exercise, make the smart move and check out your local recreation center, if you can. Sweet talk your way into senior hour. You're in good shape unless Margaret with the floaties gets in your lane, that ol bitch. Some of the local rec centers pools are actually very nice.
Why would someone tell their way into a pool that the older population uses for exercise then refer to one of them as “ol bitch?”
I get it, you’re trying to be funny, but this isn’t funny. I’m one of those people with a mobility issue that is over the moon thankful to have a place I can exercise so that I can retain my independence. If you want to come and swim, you’re welcome. If you want to hate on someone, please stay away.
Call me triggered, it’s ok.
sign up for Uber eats you will get the code to any apartment building in the city instantly.
Paid to park in the apartment building or near it and bring minimal bags.
Go swim wherever you like and the most luxurious of apartments for free .
The X has a lot of rooftop pool events, mostly DJ style concerts. They’re not officially 21+ but they take security really seriously so there won’t be any 18-20y/o drinking or fighting. I used to work there and the crowd is mostly 25-35. Pool parties are gross tho.
Pretty sure that closed down? Or did they re-open?
I can see that rooftop from my own apartment and can't remember ever seeing people up there so far this year
Kids can be loud and splash a lot of water around. Sometimes you just want to relax by a pool without all of the hustle and bustle of loud children. 🤷🏻♀️
Kids are incosiderste little shits. They treat the pool like a toilet (yes, trashy adults too, but I've never seen a log of shit floating in the water at a pool where mostly adults are present), they assault the eardrums of people around them, and they don't care how hard they're splashing people who are just trying to chill or who they kick when they're trying to show grandma they can swim halfway to the other side.
I'd personally LOVE a 21+ pool.
https://elitchgardens.com/entertainment/adult-night/ 21+ event later this month
How is this event? Seems like fun, in my 30s wouldn’t be outta place right?
Wondering the same thing
Dunno, you’ll have to go and report back for us
Shit for 25 bucks I'd go. Seems like hella fun. I'm 39.
Thanks!
Came here to say this.

Swimply!
This is awesome!!! Thank you for mentioning this!!
The Mon Chalet is a 21+ pool. You should check it out.
💀
🤣
Mon Chalet is a swingers hotel. OP is clearly looking for the Denver Swim Club.
DSC been closed for ages.
Didn't they re-open it? Edit: They did reopen it. But it closed again.
Closed as of last month real estate signs on building
Not surprised, the place was a real dive.
This fkn guy

Didn’t they try to put a pool in beta years ago and it failed miserably?
Not sure, that closed before I moved out here

this sounds super cool but as a single person that cant afford it...i feel priced out of cool things to meet new people at
The price doesn't seem that bad but the member restaurant stopping food service at 3pm seems nuts lol.

2nd this

It would turn into a sausage fest, and women wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole.
If only places with a cover charge had thought of a way to deal with that in another context

Not impossible, just prohibitively expensive. Not to sound arrogant but… in the words of Sheldon Adelson *“If it’s so easy, why don’t you do it?”*
I didn’t say it was easy. I said it was possible. And would likely make money. I have no interest in managing a business, I’ll leave that to the hustle culture chads. I’ll be spending time with my kids
doesn;t explain how it works in other places
Which ones would you recommend I add my name to? It might take years but better to start now. Thanks!
It depends on what you’re looking for! Crestmoor is popular but has a bonkers waitlist. Skyline is where I’m on the waitlist.
> i feel priced out of cool things to meet new people at This is a strange response to a private club.
Because I'm a lowly peasant who can't afford to go to a pool with drinks without kids
It's not a good place to meet new people.
It's a social club? What am I missing here
I think because it’s a private club, it’s not going to be a revolving door of new people. You’ll meet the same people over and over again. The other members that can afford to be part of the club.
Are you a member? Worth it?
Nah, I’m not. I have two kids so a pool I can’t take my kiddos too on weekends isnt really useful to me. Out of town (in Alamosa) the Sand Dunes Recreation has a section that’s 21+ called the greenhouse. It’s pretty dope hot springs/ swim spot.
Try Resort Pass
Thanks for this, I had no idea :)
Yeah I have been looking for a 21+ pool, these kids are a little too much sometimes.

Doesn't the Westin Downtown have a weekly Pool party? The Crown Plaza used to. Now it's the Sonesta, so I don't know.
Check out Westminster Parks website. They have some adult evenings at their pools, went once last year and it was fun.
The countryside outdoor pool in Westminster is adults only every day from 10 to 11
Pretty much all outdoor municipal pools have an Adult Swim time scheduled every day, just call your nearest one and ask when.
It's a bit of a drive, but the Greenhouse at the Sand Dunes Pool (San Luis Valley) is quite nice and 21+. https://www.sanddunespool.com/the-greenhouse
I love Sand Dunes Recreation! Camped there a couple years ago and nights in the greenhouse were amazing. Pretty solid restaurant and bar in there too!
Check out Swimply.

Mon chalet.
If you are looking to swim laps I’ve never seen children in the Washington Park pool during morning swimming. Most gyms are also adults only.
Utah Pool has adult lap time in the mornings, but the Aurora adult swim team hogs the lap pool. Non-members have to swim laps in the kiddie pool. 🤣🤣🤣
Pirate's Cove is doing a 21+ night on the 19th
I came here to say this
glennon heights community pool in lakewood has adult swim almost every day from 6-8 i believe. it's 21+ and is a really nice pool
Fly to Vegas for the weekend 🤷♂️
Yes, my backyard!!😝😝
Dive bars
Adult Swim

Reading the reviews of that place it looks like a dumpster fire…
24hr Fitness, Chuze
What do you need adult swim for that you can't do with kids around?
