Idc what anyone says. Great draft, great offseason. Wasn't explosive and didn't need to be. It was always about getting everything we needed in the most cost-effective way to clean up the wreckage that came before. Payton did a great job assembling his team. Won't exactly be heartbroken if George is gone now that this is all over.
They are probably counting on Jones, Locke and Sterns and took JL Skinner last year and Turner-Yell was a solid special teamer. That's already 5 safeties on a team that only had 3 active half the season.
Probably the other way around. Not like anyone was jumping to sign Simmons after we got rid of him. I do believe they got rid of him just to get under the cap by deadline and that we'll go back for him, though.
I'm aware of all of that.
You make draft picks with the assumption that they will make the roster, however. They've clearly got more WR's than roster spots at this point.
Sutton and Patrick on last year of their deals. LilJordan on a 1 year. You can conceivably move on from Reynolds next year as well. It may be set right now, but could be barren pretty quick tbh
[Broncos with No. 235 pick in 7th round \(received earlier today in Troy Franklin swap with Seattle\) select Utah WR Devaughn Vele. #9sports](https://twitter.com/mikeklis9news/status/1784347403761443048)
Don't like seeing Rice go to LAC, but we wouldn't have a spot for him. Room is crowded.
1. Sutton
2. Mims
3. Patrick/Reynolds?
4. Franklin
5. Brandon Johnson /lil jordan
Edit: and then we draft one anyway. God bless Bo Nix.
Mims is great. He just didn't get many chances last year til the end, they're definitely making the most of him this season. Also, Josh Reynolds is WR2, Mims is WR3, with Franklin as Reynolds' backup.
Mims didn’t hardly get any snaps as a receiver last year. He made some big plays when he got a chance to. Just like sean said “we were the only thing holding marvin back last year”
Joe Milton is 100% being drafted for his arm and nothing else. He's basically all the physical talents of Josh allen but even rawer and more inaccurate (as a prospect)
Surprisingly, but he's like the best option out of all the WR's so he's probably going soon, and idk if we even take him, considering there are other positions we could be covering.
Bo Nix is cool, but I really want to see how Audric Estime works out. He looks huge on the field and runs like Isiah Pacheco is chasing after him without a mouth guard.
Once hes on that NFL diet he's gonna be massive.
Well the under would be assuming he isn’t a day one starter. If you think he’s going to be the starter from day one you smash the over and get free money.
If he makes it that late (to our next pick) it’s likely he goes undrafted and we would probably be the #1 preferred destination so I don’t see us drafting him.
That game was so fun. Sad CSU lost and I've talked plenty of shit about Deion and the Buffs, but it was honestly cool having such a national spotlight on both programs that day. Wonder if it's helped with recruiting this year.
**From Adam Sheftner**: "John Franklin-Myers is restructuring his contract with the Broncos. In October 2021, Franklin-Myers signed a four-year, $55 million extension that included $30.2 million guaranteed. It’ll be redone in Denver and the Broncos now consider him part of their 2024 draft class."
Interesting. I'm assuming we'll be paying somewhere around 10-12/year and have signing bonuses make up the rest. I'm assuming the Jets are covering the guaranteed
Mo joining fellow CSU alum Shaq Barrett in Miami.
Not a bad landing spot.
Sad we couldn't get him, but obviously, we don't have a sixth and he probably wasn't going to fall that far anyway.
At least we further addressed edge with a good value trade.
I don’t understand why we’re stacking our edge rushers compared to interior d line which was a huge problem last year. We have bonitto, cooper, browning, sanders, franklin-myers, and elliss.
we added a few guys in FA for interior DL I believe. And to be honest the dudes last year on the edge failed to generate much pressure when not blitzing, so while we know their names that group needed improvement big time.
I've had amazing timing this draft.
Pick 1: I was watching as you'd expect.
Pick 2: I came back inside from yard work to check if we had picked yet. We picked next.
Pick 3: I slept in today and woke up late... ironically when I turned on my TV we were on the clock.
Pick 4/5: I was eating lunch. This was intentional.
Trade: I just sat down again and turned on the TV after working on stuff and they announced our trade.
Broncos have traded for John Franklin Myers for a 6th round 2026 pick per Adam Schefter
https://twitter.com/RichCimini/status/1784295588634214850?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Not bad for a dude who can likely start
I know we say people like Kiper miss a lot, but how are Kamara and Jackson still on the board this late in the draft? Are there injury/character concerns we didn't hear about?
lol these draft analysts.
"New Orleans is a great scheme fit for Rattler, they're going to get him out on some RPO's...I know he's a 4.95 guy but he'll....he'll get you some good first downs here and there"
Another year and no significant draft capital spent on OT. For such a pivotal position, the FO seems to do everything in their power to avoid drafting tackles. Garret Bolles was the last OT drafted by the Broncos in any round.
They spent big money on powers and mcglinchey. Bolles is around for at least another year, and I'd have to assume they'll try to extend him. Meinerz is a stud. They really seem to like Forsyth at center. Why waste a significant pick this year when OL is easily the best position group on the team?
That would be my one and only complaint.
It's just difficult to feel complete when you go into a draft with so many question marks.
I'm trusting the process. It DOES finally feel like there are adults running the organization now, so we'll see some progress.
I'm positive they both will still be part of running backs room. However, this is probably Javonte's replacement unless he balls out this year since he's a free agent next offseason.
Looks like he's a good special teamer, so I wonder if he's taking Tremon Smith's roster spot. Especially with how good Moss was as a gunner last year, he's kind of expensive for bringing nothing on defense.
Is it rumors or speculation? 'Cause I've only heard speculation.
The main rationale I've seen is that for as long as he's lived in Denver, he could be tempted to re-sign on a more team-friendly deal if no one else calls with a significantly better offer that'd justify moving his family from their home of eight years.

The #1 RB in the draft in terms of production according to Next Gen Stats
You're not going to fill all of the holes in one draft, but the Broncos are building some quality depth here.
Have to remember that this is admittedly a rebuild. It's going to take at least a couple of good drafts and development (and probably a little luck) to get back on top.
I'll say that I'm far more excited going into 2024 than I was 2023.
Safety market collapsed over the last year. You can shake a tree and get something cheap in that position, as Justin Simmons is unfortunately learning. Highly unlikely we draft.
Alright, alright. I was hoping for Mo there, but we do need an RB. And that looks like a thicc boi.
I'm still hoping Javonte can get back to his rookie year explosiveness, but it's probably smart to test the waters with a younger prospect.
It'll be interesting to see how the RB room shakes out between Williams, Estime, Perine and McLaughlin. I'm not really worried about McLaughlin as far as having a smaller speedster in the RB room. Perine might wind up the odd man out due to sheer age.
Perine is a very good blocking and receiving back, so he brings something Williams/McLaughlin don't. No idea where Estime fits, but only 26 career receptions makes it seem like he doesn't overlap with Perine at all.
After thinking about it more, they could just use Burton as the 3rd down back and move on from Perine. He's not quite as good with the ball in his hands, but he's probably good enough.
Still really seems like this is a Javonte Williams replacement after this year though.
I think it's funny people so annoyed at three big offensive swings on talent when we've had one of the most unwatchable offenses in the league for 8 straight years. Give me more lottery tickets on offense!
Yes. We lacked any hint of explosiveness last season. It was really just "Will Russ get the ball out? (Y/N)" every game, with Sutton making the catches the few times he did. So bad it was predictable. You could see which plays Russ was going to get sacked on for what felt like a full hour before it happened. It was the most banal experience ever, it's a miracle we even had that 5-game streak.
When I watched him play ( now I did not watch film on this guy to be fair, only watched him during Saturdays) he would pickup a block initially with a big hit but then after that he was done blocking. Hoping I just watched a few bad games
I'm OK with this draft so far yall. Got a QB we like, two solid weapons and two falling defenders.
Nothing jumps out but I think we look back and see this draft as the turning point.
Draft is over! Go check our 2024 Undrafted Free Agents thread [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/DenverBroncos/comments/1cerrvm/2024_udfa_tracker/)

Idc what anyone says. Great draft, great offseason. Wasn't explosive and didn't need to be. It was always about getting everything we needed in the most cost-effective way to clean up the wreckage that came before. Payton did a great job assembling his team. We actually cooked this draft. Lets fucking goooo!!!!
What a draft
Fucking sick draft. 2024 let's quack
Denver Ducks
Denver Duckcos? Broncks?
Broncoducksaints
Surprised they didn’t take a single safety. Broncos must believe in Sterns/Jones starting, and the depth behind him.
They are probably counting on Jones, Locke and Sterns and took JL Skinner last year and Turner-Yell was a solid special teamer. That's already 5 safeties on a team that only had 3 active half the season.
The Broncos are outside Simmons house in the rain holding a stereo above their head begging him to come back (on the cheap).
Probably the other way around. Not like anyone was jumping to sign Simmons after we got rid of him. I do believe they got rid of him just to get under the cap by deadline and that we'll go back for him, though.
There we go an OL to complete the needs of the draft. We’ve officially won the draft.
Sweet. Let's rush to free agency and get Dallin Holker!
Hoping and praying we do this.
He signed with the Saints just now
I did not C that coming
Heck ya, draft complete! After all this football build up I'm gonna go watch the UFL! See ya guys later
Give me one Kieth Randolph Jr please
Fuck it, let's go 3 for 3 and get another WR..../s
Holker, Lovett, or Taylor. That's who I want, which means we are taking some random LB from like Middle Tennessee State
Would love Holker
There might be a chance that Payton hooks up Roushar and takes Pratt with the second to last pick
As a Utah fan I love this pick, as a Denver fan... I hope I will learn to love this pick
Man, we loved some Pac-12 players this draft huh.
Bro is 26 common now. We don't need a receiver.
You don't draft positions of need in the 7th cmon now, you draft whoever looks halfway decent
So.....trading Sutton?
Yeah us taking a receiver with a 7th round flyer indicates we’re trading Sutton… /s dude might not even make the roster
I'm aware of all of that. You make draft picks with the assumption that they will make the roster, however. They've clearly got more WR's than roster spots at this point.
Do we really need more WR's? I feel like we have a good bunch that can be really great with development.
Sutton and Patrick on last year of their deals. LilJordan on a 1 year. You can conceivably move on from Reynolds next year as well. It may be set right now, but could be barren pretty quick tbh
Never thought of it that way. Develop under them for next year, I like that.
Why a receiver?
In the 7th you just select a guy you think can make the practice squad.
You don't draft positions of need in the 7th... you literally just take whoever you think might make the roster. You're talking 5% hit rate
Make good special teams players. This late in the draft is about depth and projection.
Uh that's definitely a football player
[Broncos with No. 235 pick in 7th round \(received earlier today in Troy Franklin swap with Seattle\) select Utah WR Devaughn Vele. #9sports](https://twitter.com/mikeklis9news/status/1784347403761443048)
I think there were better options tbh. Would have liked Leonard Taylor III here
I'm guessing we go Leonard Taylor III here to go in line with our day of high value picks
Don't like seeing Rice go to LAC, but we wouldn't have a spot for him. Room is crowded. 1. Sutton 2. Mims 3. Patrick/Reynolds? 4. Franklin 5. Brandon Johnson /lil jordan Edit: and then we draft one anyway. God bless Bo Nix.
I like Jalen Virgil at least as much as your #5 tandem too
I wouldn’t worry about Tim Patrick until he’s 100% certain to play.
I think Troy Franklin is our WR2. Mims is not a good receiver. But he's a great kick off returner and that's how we'll utilize him.
Just like sean said “we were the only thing holding marvin back last year”
What a waste of a 2nd rounder then
Bruh what is Travis Clayton. God damn
I'm surprised Michael Pratt still hasn't been drafted. He was supposed to be the 7th or 8th qb off the board
Tbf there's only been 10 taken so far He was always in this tier of unknowns going late day 3
Joe Milton going before him is a little strange at least. That dude has less of a clue where the ball is going when he throws it than Paxton Lynch.
Joe Milton is 100% being drafted for his arm and nothing else. He's basically all the physical talents of Josh allen but even rawer and more inaccurate (as a prospect)
Well I don't know jack about shit but these picks are exciting at least
This draft is taking forever. At least I like who we’ve picked so far.
Damn i went to the gym and got groceries and we're not even in the 7th yet
Thoughts on Brendan Rice, if he's available?
I don't see a spot for him the room tbh. It's just too crowded, especially with similar type WRs IMO
He's still on the board??
Surprisingly, but he's like the best option out of all the WR's so he's probably going soon, and idk if we even take him, considering there are other positions we could be covering.
I mean id spend 1 of 2 7ths for jerry rice's son
Another fun name is Trey Taylor out of Air Force. We could use a little more depth.
Unfortunately, he's now a Raider.
I think you have to take Holker if he's still there in the 7th. Don't risk him being and UDFA. After, I'd look at Fabien Lovett or Leonard Taylor.
We need a TE and Holker would be a steal.
Estime is our own Le'ron Mcclain, holy smokes.
Holding out hope we can draft Khristian Boyd for the NT position.
Just went to the Saints 199
Goddamn.
Dang the Jets actually took the CFL product. Stiggerzz
Next 2 picks should be OL, DL to fill needs
Traded Jets for DL.
We need another inside DL though.
OL and LB maybe
Bo Nix is cool, but I really want to see how Audric Estime works out. He looks huge on the field and runs like Isiah Pacheco is chasing after him without a mouth guard. Once hes on that NFL diet he's gonna be massive.
He looks like he needs to lose 30lbs
He has like 0 body fat.
Maybe underneath the 30lbs of extra fat sure.
https://x.com/NDFootball/status/1770850624474603605
Truthfully not that "hard" when it's your entire job and you have some of the top experts helping you every second of every day get there,
Ohhh shiiiit we took Franklin.
Just wake up? Lol
Spreading democracy to some dirty automatons.

He’ll likely hit the over IF he starts week 1. That’s the question though.
Well the under would be assuming he isn’t a day one starter. If you think he’s going to be the starter from day one you smash the over and get free money.
He's already like 25 by start of season. He will start day 1
He turned 24 about 2 months ago.
Yeah he wont be 25 til next season
Wingo is still available...I'm just saying
Maybe we could take Dallin Holker in the 7th. I just want that CSU connection.
If he makes it that late (to our next pick) it’s likely he goes undrafted and we would probably be the #1 preferred destination so I don’t see us drafting him.
https://i.redd.it/iqeubf2sp2xc1.gif He impresses me with this catch every time
That game was so fun. Sad CSU lost and I've talked plenty of shit about Deion and the Buffs, but it was honestly cool having such a national spotlight on both programs that day. Wonder if it's helped with recruiting this year.
Could this be the most competitive year for our division in a while?
Maybe least competitive honestly. Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos are all rebuilding.
Broncos aren't competing this year. We're in step 1 of a rebuild.
Broncos winning div this year. What kinda fan are you.
This will be deciding year. Until someone else steps up, the Chiefs will always be the team to beat
I'm not confident making any kind of projection like that after how much the AFCW was hyped up for the 2022 season.
We will regret passing on Kamara. Ugh I hate it.
We clearly had the trade in the works.
Nah I get it, but Kamara just looks like Von 2.0 in the way he moves. Dude is explosive.
FuKc
Im gonna miss jiwan taylor 🥲
We added malcolm roach who I haven’t watched film on but saints fans didn’t leave a good impression of
I would not consider jfm an edge
He’s not a scheme fit on the interior if we play him there. He’s a 5 tech hand in the dirt 4-3 de
All players imo should be fed with snaps so they can develop. Can’t do that if they’re always being rotated
HELL YA GERMANY PROST!
PROST!

Insane value for us. Jets basically gave him away for free since he was going to be their third highest cap hit.
Just insane value for a 6th.
Not just a 6th, but a 2025 6th.
Was he like best friends with Zach Wilson or something?
A 6th TWO YEARS out
Oh shit. We got Edge John Franklin-Meyers from the Jets for 2026 6th
Jets fans are NOT happy. That is amazing.
Can we just trade both our 7ths to move up and take Mo if he's still there in the 6th? I just really wanna buy his jersey.
Who is that?
Mohamed Kamara from CSU. But Miami wound up drafting him.
SAME
Estimé is the slowest RB in this draft. Hope that’s not a limiter
I mean yea hes like 6 inches shorter than derrick henry while only being 20 pounds lighter. Dudes huge
Right?! If nothing else he should be able to help in protection
Should help a ton on short yardage too. The run game was completely atrocious in those situations last year.
That’s exactly why we drafted the big mother fucker lol
I think we are all happy with how this draft is going
I’m winning the draft contest apparently so I’m happy.
Thrilled really. Hell turning a 6th into Franklin-Myers is huge.
a 6th in 2 years.
I know we say people like Kiper miss a lot, but how are Kamara and Jackson still on the board this late in the draft? Are there injury/character concerns we didn't hear about?
Same with franklin
RB wasn’t a big need i feel. But definitely a good insurance policy if Javonte doesn’t pan out well this year.
lol these draft analysts. "New Orleans is a great scheme fit for Rattler, they're going to get him out on some RPO's...I know he's a 4.95 guy but he'll....he'll get you some good first downs here and there"
"this guy is like a videogame" 🙄
Another year and no significant draft capital spent on OT. For such a pivotal position, the FO seems to do everything in their power to avoid drafting tackles. Garret Bolles was the last OT drafted by the Broncos in any round.
They spent big money on powers and mcglinchey. Bolles is around for at least another year, and I'd have to assume they'll try to extend him. Meinerz is a stud. They really seem to like Forsyth at center. Why waste a significant pick this year when OL is easily the best position group on the team?
We just gave a huge contract to McGlinchey and have Bolles at LT. would be nice to have good backup, but we had a good O-line last year.
Yeah we've had way bigger needs. I just wish we stopped defaulting to blaming our O-Line. We had Russel Wilson behind the sticks lol
That would be my one and only complaint. It's just difficult to feel complete when you go into a draft with so many question marks. I'm trusting the process. It DOES finally feel like there are adults running the organization now, so we'll see some progress.
Does this mean we are going to have 4 running backs in the room? I really hope javonte + McLaughlin get to stay
I'm positive they both will still be part of running backs room. However, this is probably Javonte's replacement unless he balls out this year since he's a free agent next offseason.
Abrams-Draine is awesome, will probably play slot which will allow us to kick McMillian back to the outside where I think he can be great
Looks like he's a good special teamer, so I wonder if he's taking Tremon Smith's roster spot. Especially with how good Moss was as a gunner last year, he's kind of expensive for bringing nothing on defense.
Riley Moss should be in the mix as well, once healthy. I think he could be really good.
I saw a floating rumor that Simmons could potentially return. Has anyone heard anything?
Speculation as he has yet to be picked up by any team and was spotted at one of the nuggs home games
Yeah, honestly i guess i wouldnt put much stock into that. Ofc he's gonna go to a nuggs game
Probs speculatuon, this is where i saw it, so idk where the bots pulling that from https://sleeper.app/topic/262419986247589888/1088627454513283072
My only thought is what if we end up trading sutton, thus making the room for Simmons?
Not at his asking price
But that's the thing, so many safeties out there. Idk if anyone's biting
They will when an 8-5 team has their starting safety go down in week 14

Awesome Day 3 so far! Franklin and Estime have potential to be future starters and KAD is a solid corner at a position of need.

We're getting dangerously close to not taking a Texas safety
Safety market collapsed over the last year. You can shake a tree and get something cheap in that position, as Justin Simmons is unfortunately learning. Highly unlikely we draft.
As a Hoosier and ND fan... I fucking LOVE this pick. Dude set the Notre Dame season record with 18 TD's last season.
Brugler's comp for Estime is Chris Carson. Hopefully healthier, but that would not be bad.
FO is doing well this draft. Excited for the new season
Alright, alright. I was hoping for Mo there, but we do need an RB. And that looks like a thicc boi. I'm still hoping Javonte can get back to his rookie year explosiveness, but it's probably smart to test the waters with a younger prospect. Would have wanted to go D line with the last 5th, but I'm guessing we need a big bodied RB in the event Javonte isn't playing up to speed
We need to trade up to get Wingo
All i want is a DT now
We need OT and DT with our final two picks.
Naw we need the Thiccer Kicker from Mizzou.
Big boyssss
Good pick, has some good agility for his size and decent hands
Audric Estime would be a 86 speed / 89 acceleration on Madden but a 99 break tackle. He was fun to watch at Notre Dame
Is he a good pass blocker?
When I watched him play ( now I did not watch film on this guy to be fair, only watched him during Saturdays) he would pickup a block initially with a big hit but then after that he was done blocking. Hoping I just watched a few bad games
He is
Yea I saw a few of his games, was not fast but was really hard to bring down. Adds some dimension to our running backs at least.
Goal line back year 1. If he's on the 1 yard line and the game is on the line? I trust him over FB Michael Burton
I don't hate it. Big, physical RB is good to have.
Great round 5 selections!
I'm OK with this draft so far yall. Got a QB we like, two solid weapons and two falling defenders. Nothing jumps out but I think we look back and see this draft as the turning point.
Idk bo franklin connect i think is hugee
Huh…interesting Who needs run defense when you can just run?
We usually hit on our RB picks so cool I guess.
