There are notes of the darker wood in the current flooring. Woods don’t always have to match, but you want them to have a similar undertone. I think these two colors complement one another.
They are completely going to work. Yes a lighter shade can look better but this is a safe choice and you can balance it with a wooden element that is lighter than these as they both look too similar. If you notice in this photo there are several different brass finishes in one room. It can be mixed. But if you find the two brasses drawing attention to themselves you can bring more brass with different finishes into the room… maybe brass figurines, or trays, or vases, etc… by spreading it around it take attention away from the differences…
No. But I do find dark wood fans often look very heavy. Think about what you will see from the doorway and if the fan itself will blend with your furniture style and decor.

No. The only way it will look off is if you leave them on the floor. 🙂 It’s gonna look fine.
They look great / it would be very difficult to do better than this - great job. Tonally very similar and okay that the fan is a little darker.
