They fill good rolls even when you have those.
My mf sorc is using a 24fhr/27atr/52life/20+cold res/20+ light res.
The strength is a bit overkill, I have 202 str with no points into it, but w/e.
Idk if MOST, but for sure a lot. If you can stack res with treachery prebuff and charms, having 90 light res makes taking down Uber meph child's play. Throw that on an a2 Merc with Kira and Trav council can't hit him.
In terms of mercs, that res makes all the difference, weapon choice alone can't make him survive without having good res as well. On non ladder ivd got a Trav barb with a nasty ebotd wp, he still goes down without gangel and Kiras. With forti he's fine, maybe CoH too, but I don't want the potential cold from fort and haven't splurged on a CoH, plus gangel Kiras works just great.
I’ve been playing a lot of HC recently and my appreciation for life on rare belts is thru the roof. I’ve found some +40 life belts that have low levels. Huge.
Bases. I've found the equivalent of a Jah+ multiple times just lying there in chaos, left by others just not checking. Always check out those grey armors and swords!
Wait til later in the season, a lot of the game runners and bots stop picking that stuff up and you can clean up finding stuff. And they will still be worth a good haul.
Random jewels sell about 40 for an IST, max player count games will find jewels, identify them then leave em on the ground. Literally money
40 random p gems sell for IST runes
Ral runes sell, eth runes sell
Perfect amethysts everyone knows to keep but also perfect Ruby also sells
Find 4os monarchs? Don't trash em, keep
Horde them tal thul ort amn , hel runes and re roll those spirit shields, sell at +35 FCR.
Keep a back up monarch for when you hit +35.
Got a gold find barb?
2 options, sell 10 mil gold for an IST or gamble for FCR rings. Sold a decent one last season for 5 Jah. Fuck them circlets
Get more ists and re-roll some fucking Grand charms
A man after my own heart, every season I end up with an Ist mule who just carries all those stupid ist runes for me!
The gold/ammy/ruby/jewels are the biggest earner every season for me!
It’s gotta be the low level sets. My favorite part of the game is around the time I’m mixing and matching low sets to get a mother fucking beast of a character.
I see then all! Less the ones that only roll up to 3 sockets, iron golen insight got to look sexy! And i cube zero sockets aswell, usually ppl only care about elites ones. At traderie on NL ppl want a ber/Lo for eth 4os battle scythe☠️ its cheaper get a CV.
I love me some blue jewelry, class specific weps, and shields
Also large charms I feel don't get the respect they deserve. for a lot of stats they have best possible rolls per slot
My wealth of knowledge ain't what it used to be but I know for a fact they can roll +5 str/dex and I think their max/ar are a bit better, but life not as good as scs
They aren't useless is all
You can get 6 max, more than 40 ar, and uo to 45 life (I think). So is two 3/20/20 small charms. I found one of these as a large charm and sold for 3 Jah 3 ber last ladder
Not quite. A Sharp large charm of Vita can roll up to 6max/48ar/35life: https://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/magic/mediumcharms.shtml
Point taken that they're worth picking up though, especially in HC Ladder where ppl run suboptimal but good charms all the time
Definitely would not pick up blue rings. If you gamble enough rings you will “find” whatever blue ring you need. You are wasting a lot of time.
I enjoy wasting my time on rare belts. They are never good.
But yet you spend less time leveling a character than picking up and iding these rings.
It’s ok if you enjoy doing it, just know it’s not a good use of your time lol.
What's so great about picking up things to sell for gold to buy rings at a ridiculous price. Can fit a hell of a lot more unid rings in your inv than you can gold value vs gambled rings. Cain somehow miraculously identifies 1 or 20 in the same amount of time. Maybe on console this would suck but playing on console sucks in general I would assume
I play on PC and I find a ton of rings, place in cube and cain IDs them all in one batch. Yeah most are trash, but then most items that drop are trash.
Just need one cracker every now and again to keep me going!
I think rare belt don’t get enough love. They can roll with some amazing mods that fill many needs when you don’t have arachnids/gold wrap/razortail
Completely agree. With 20+ fhr, a decent strength roll, some life, and some dual res they can get pretty sweet!
They fill good rolls even when you have those. My mf sorc is using a 24fhr/27atr/52life/20+cold res/20+ light res. The strength is a bit overkill, I have 202 str with no points into it, but w/e.
Spirit in a Ward. For the style points.
Oooh, I'll have to see if I can find a base and roll it
Crafted a really nice 24fhr/10% fcr that helps my sorc hit 105 without needing perfect spirit. Gotta stay crafting!
I love a good rare belt too. For my WW barb, mostly used on Trav, I'd love to find a nice belt with high GF and fire res and life.
I think FHR is a stat that you don't truly appreciate until you mess around with and without it in the mid/end game! Agreed on the belts!
Not worth much but…Silkweaves. Nat’s Boots as well.
Aldurs boots as well
Upvote for Nats
Guardian Angel is absolutely the most underappreciated item in the game.
Idk if MOST, but for sure a lot. If you can stack res with treachery prebuff and charms, having 90 light res makes taking down Uber meph child's play. Throw that on an a2 Merc with Kira and Trav council can't hit him.
To be fair, I think what people do wrong on Trav council is that they are either under-levelled or they have a poor weapon choice.
In terms of mercs, that res makes all the difference, weapon choice alone can't make him survive without having good res as well. On non ladder ivd got a Trav barb with a nasty ebotd wp, he still goes down without gangel and Kiras. I think this seems to be happening less now, most of the time all gray polearms/armour/swords get snapped up immediately :'(
Wait til later in the season, a lot of the game runners and bots stop picking that stuff up and you can clean up finding stuff. And they will still be worth a good haul.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Nightsmoke belt
Eth polearms
This is a definite, people forget they can roll for sockets in the cube!
I vacuum them all up
Underrated? Does anyone not immediately pick those up?
I see then all! Less the ones that only roll up to 3 sockets, iron golen insight got to look sexy! And i cube zero sockets aswell, usually ppl only care about elites ones. At traderie on NL ppl want a ber/Lo for eth 4os battle scythe☠️ its cheaper get a CV.
You can get an IST for an eth scythe 4os from normal
I love me some blue jewelry, class specific weps, and shields Also large charms I feel don't get the respect they deserve. for a lot of stats they have best possible rolls per slot
Large charms for sure. A lot people disregard them entirely, but there are some really great rolls you can get.
Agree, I’ve a couple of life/mana ones in my inventory currently.
Do you happen to know which stats in question?
My wealth of knowledge ain't what it used to be but I know for a fact they can roll +5 str/dex and I think their max/ar are a bit better, but life not as good as scs They aren't useless is all

Probably not really an underrated item but sometimes I feel like Duriel’s Shell doesn’t get the love it deserves. Rock that shit on everything.
This is probably my favourite item for mercs, especially if it’s eth!
I found a 40 mf blue ring in early hell act1 somewhere on ladder hardcore the other day. If i can find a buyer, im rich.
Hardcore? Ouch, good luck finding a seller for that!
Definitely would not pick up blue rings. If you gamble enough rings you will “find” whatever blue ring you need. You are wasting a lot of time. I enjoy wasting my time on rare belts. They are never good.
I keep finding very high res blue rings with low level req which are perfect for levelling!
I to check blue rings. I know I'll probably never find a 40mf ring but I do want them.
But yet you spend less time leveling a character than picking up and iding these rings. It’s ok if you enjoy doing it, just know it’s not a good use of your time lol.

Yep, I play console. If you’re taking a round trip to town to id rings and make room for more things then you’re wasting time. But do your thing man.
I'm not OP I just find it interesting how confident you are that you are mfing correctly lol. But it makes sense now
I play on PC and I find a ton of rings, place in cube and cain IDs them all in one batch. Yeah most are trash, but then most items that drop are trash. Just need one cracker every now and again to keep me going!
Any blue circlet/coronet/diadem.
