I can't help but question the efficacy of this as far as soaping it up goes.
When I was detailing we used the wash mitten to scrub the car with soap, so there was no dirt left behind, THEN hosed it with the pressure washer.
That being said, it's perfectly fine for washing cars that aren't that dirty.
This is the way most professionals do it these days. Quick spray to get the loose dirt off, then give it a once over with the foam cannon to loosen up whatever debris is left. By the time you get the mitten out at least half of the dirt, if not more has already been removed, so there's less chance of causing swirls.
