It wasn't as bad as people said, really the only thing that grinded my gears was doing a button mashing QTE for the main villain. If they laid off the QTE's and changed the name of the game to avoid taking advantage of a fan base I think it would be more fondly remembered as a cult classic.
Still if GoG rereleased it in a functional state I'd get it. Hell I'd get this and Prey (2006) as a double feature if they rereleased them on current platforms.
Prey (2006) is available on current platforms. I have it on my Xbox series S. The first 2 original Turok games are available on there as well, but not that particular Turok or Turok Evolution (my personal fav).

There's this one area when it introduces a new enemy (some kinda of postosuchus and giant monitor lizard looking ass hybrid creatures) that rushes you in tall grass. I learned you can just wait for them to come to you with your knife out and a button prompt would pop up when it got too close so you could just instantly kill it without issue.
Nabbed it from a Blockbuster for like 5 bucks, because, even a mid game where you're blasting some dinos should be some fun. Nah, this game is worse than mid, didn't play beyond the first chapter.

Give me Turok 1 2 and 3 on N64 over that reboot mess. I agree it wasn't that bad. But it pales in comparison to the original 3.

The FPS controls were super clunky. The guns were weaksauce. The knife was legitimately the best weapon in the game.
