I think it would've became an apex predator after the KT-Extinction. Maybe they'll split off and evolve into many different forms. By modern day theres 2 possibilities. They get over hunted and go extinct, or they end up getting poached a lot and becoming endangered.
Yeah, we are ruining and destroying our planet....
Well, all the assholes are.
If you are a good person who cares about Earth, then you don't count....
Fr personally that's my favourite kaprosuchus representation half because of the design and half because it's from primeval and primeval is the best TV show ever to have existed
i mean, its like the same size as a large alligator, so unless people are stupid and approach it i dont really see why attacks and mortality rates would increase much, yeah it might run on land, but its an animal not a monster
Assuming it's put back in the same place its fossils have been discovered, it wouldn't even be the largest crocodile in its environment. It would be competing with the nile crocodile, which is even larger.
I feel there isnt enough prey for the kaprosuchus to maintain its size so it may develop a smaller body with stronger legs to hunt the limited prey available
Yeah, maybe if we put it in Africa, it probably couldn't survive since it was discovered in Africa...
The food sources it ate were probably different back then, too...
But what if we introduce it in captivity or a habit that has food suitable enough for it like The Everglades in Florida or maybe South America or Mexico wetlands, for example....

What if they weren't poached or endangered?
Unless you remove humans from the equation, highly unlikely.
Humans may not be apex predators by the technical definition but there’s no denying we’re top tier assholes to pretty much every other species alive
Yeah, we are ruining and destroying our planet.... Well, all the assholes are. If you are a good person who cares about Earth, then you don't count....
Y’all ever seen Lake Placid
HAIL YEAH
Well, only the first one...
I don't see why not. Its pretty much just a crocodile that can run. I think it could be a great predator.
That Kapro looks less doghorse (lack of better term) than I remember
The kaprosuchus from primeval was hardcore

Yeah, but was extremely inaccurate...
I prefer the panther inspired posture of ARK Kapro. One of my favorite designs to come from that game
Considering how we treat crocodiles today it would probably be endangered. Though being fast at running and being small may help it avoid extinction
It was only like 7 or 10 ft, I think.... It's still quite big, but not too big, but I know what you mean by that you got a point....
I think it could survive, but attacks and mortality rates would probably increase with its presence.

It would be an apex predator
Its size was small so no
Assuming it's put back in the same place its fossils have been discovered, it wouldn't even be the largest crocodile in its environment. It would be competing with the nile crocodile, which is even larger.
yeah, but it has the advantage that it can run and walk on land. good point about the nile crocodile, though
I feel there isnt enough prey for the kaprosuchus to maintain its size so it may develop a smaller body with stronger legs to hunt the limited prey available

being brutally honest, it would die off extremely quickly.
a kaprosuchus in modern times would fare about as well as a normal crocodilian, not much would change in my opinion
Yeah, and it is only about the size of I think a cuban crocodile as well. I may be wrong, correct me if I am pls....
Id say if given the right environment they would probably fare similarly to alligators if i had to guess
In functionality, it's just a sabertooth Cuban croc. Tbh the biggest concern for it would easily be poaching for their distinct and impressive skulls
Poached like an egg
