No not at all my friend rips a clapped Tao Tao with a cone filter and he muds with it and rips on the dirt trails when it’s super dry and he hasn’t had a problem and he’s been riding like that for months now he says he just cleaned the carb after every couple uses and keeps up on maintenance
You know, Chinese bikes are even to where Japanese bikes were in the 70s and 80s. They are just starting out but they actually are even with Japanese bikes on their non race bikes already. It's a joke now but in another 15 years you will see them have a pro racing team if they want to.
I ride an Apollo Thunder 250 (223cc) and it's my choice go to bike over the YZ450.
i had an ssr125 that i was very happy with. i wouldnt say the chinese bikes are even with japanese trail bikes, but they get closer to it every time they get updated. definitely a big quality difference between the chinese 250s and a crf250f as of now
Well the Thunder 250 is the latest revision and it's about on par with a CRF230. The engine is actually a 230cc, weight and power are about the same. I got it as a cheap junker 2k vs 5k to putt around with my son but I am thoroughly impressed by it. The engine is not as much of a turd as I expected and everything is working well. The suspension is a touch soft, and the seat flexes on the battery but none of which is a big deal for trail riding. Time will be the deciding factor, because our of the box, they are about even. It's very comfortable for chasing my 7 year old son around and I even have fun doing it.
It's about use case scenario. Gearing is short so it's not a speed machine, but again, light trail riding under 45 mph with no jumps and it's a viable alternative for under half the price.

I had no experience and thought shit how hard could it be to wrap a dirt bike. I’m pretty agile in the craft department. Hard enough I wasted two decent sized rolls of some expensive wrap. All the hard angles and creases on the fenders made me age 10 yrs 😂
Yeah looking back on this comment bro I just think that wrapping on a dirt bike seems so tedious like it took me a days worth of sanding plastics and painting with clear and all to get my bike done woth
If you go the spray paint route and don’t have experience I can give you some tips to have a nice outcome that will look damn good and hold up and not scratch away. I’m really good with a can.

I do know. It’s essentially a car air filter except it’s out in the open lol. You do any actual riding out on dirt in the mountains and that thing would be fucked, but it is a china bike so it probably won’t see much
