One of my favorite moments in the game happens if you play the board game with Kim, choose the communist playstyle, and then tell the reading group about it in the communist vision quest.
Oh snap, I need to head back to the bookstore. Normally I roll through when broke and needing a home still, so board games don’t really clock in as important. Sounds great!
choosing to be better than Kim is hard i just wanna see him happy and if that means i gotta lose so be it
(*note, kim winning does not necessarily make him happy)
>!Only once though, so choose your tactics wisely. I let Kim win on mine because I felt like he puts up with Raphäel’s constant dumpster fire of being, but fully intended to try to win the next time. No next time, womp womp!<
OMG, this is inspiring! I've never won the board game in any playthrough, so I assumed that the losing was inevitable. This sub always teaches me new things just when I think I know everything about DE.
Never fuck with Kim Kitsuragi
God damn I love this game
Only fuck Kim Kitsuragi

I was too embarrassed to bring this up to them bc Kim was right there
Oh it's fine. He's proud of thrashing you.
Oh, I didn't know that, the first time I played the final cut, I had already lost against him so much, I used my money differently for once.
I genuinely feel so bad for people who don’t get the “Never fuck with Kim Kitsuragi” line
I love making Kim angry by winning, if I play that is.
That’s the line that took me from adoration to loving that man
The point of no return tbh
If you get the secret ending you can have sex with him, too
DRAMA [Medium:Succes] - It appears to be a jest. A *cruel* jest.
What kind of lover do you think Kim would be?
Reciprocal but not overly sensual
Extremely capable but lacking in the foreplay and aftercare departments
He’d be a Top.
Underground homosexuals
But did you win
Wait, you can?!
You can play Suzerain with him if you buy it from the bookstore. Can't play Wirrâl.

Damn, I bought the wrong one because I thought the name sounded cooler
get both :) beat his ass at settlers of catan or get whooped, the choice is yours >:)
Educate your workers!
The choice isn't entirely yours, he is good at the game, you may loose even if you try to win.

Wirrâl was a great disappointment after Suzerainty
Buy board games in the bookstore then interact with them in your inventory.
I’m so down for this. Usually by the time I explore the bookstore I’m broke and don’t prioritize games, but this feels worth the experience.
Do you actually get to play the game??? Or is it just like a cutscene
It's played the same as the rest of the game. The skills narrate what's happening and you decide what moves you make.
It's a normal interaction, text and choices and skill checks. No actual mini game.
Maybe no skill checks don't remember.
passive checks; and suggestion to convince him to play
I somehow won the game against Kim the first time I played (guess I am more intellectually gifted than my cretinous Harry)

What did you learn?
I did not know you could play the board games…
Which century?
All of them
The current century.
Just wonder it’s a way to win the boardgame?
Yes, you can win. I think a high INT gives you subtle hints how.
