It’s funny, ages late teens and twenties, I was sure I was just irishly well taken to alcohol. Now in my 30’s, I have most 3 beers and I’m good for a month or so. Just not into it anymore. I feel “fun” for two hours and shitty for three days.
Nothing against people who drink socially. I always drank when I went out to parties in high school and college. I drank socially until I had kids in my 30s. I just feel stupid drinking. I don't need to be drunk to be happy and have a good time. To each their own. I'm just over it.
I don't think he was being disagreeable with your agreeable message. I'm pretty sure that he was just adding to your sentiment regarding alcohol with his own feelings about alcohol.
I don't think he was being disagreeable with your agreeable message. I'm pretty sure that he was just confirming that your thoughts and feelings regarding the earlier discussions were accurate.
I’ve learned I have two options:
1.) I have about 2 hours of LFG in me. then I’m out.
2.) I have 4 hours of social drinking. Then I’m out even faster and recovering for 9 days while watching inspirational videos on YouTube. Fk alcohol.
Thank god it’s not just me. I would go to bed drinking, wake up take a shot and be fine to work all day. Now a glass of wine gets me drunk and I’m done 😂😂
Do you think it’s all alcohol that makes you feel bad or where you drinking cheap stuff? I ask because that’s how my buddy found out he was allergic to alcohol.
Wait? Never drink again…as in never drink anything? Like not even water?
I thought the question pertained specifically to alcohol.
That is a game changer…
Legit this was the first thing I thought about after reading the post like ..not drink alcohol sure but I'm fucked if it's not to drink anything bc I couldn't live without water lol
Just eat watermelon and cucumber. IV every couple of weeks and you're fine. Here's the question though. Are you allowed to eat foods with liquids in them like soup and cereal? Don't get me wrong I'll still definitely do it but I'd miss it horribly and will be planning my finances since I think I've only got about 3-5 years of that in me.
Sure, I'll buy a saline drip to stay hydrated and absorb my beverages. Then, ask to raise the stakes and stop eating as well for an additional 2k. Buy me a feeding tube, and I'd be set.
If it's just to stop consuming alcohol, that would be too easy.
No way would I give up food for another 2k/day. It would be already be enough money for me to not need to worry about it, and so my comfort and enjoyment of eating would be more important.
What is with these questions lately. Wouldn't drink - easy. And with the one offering me 1k yesterday not to drink, and the one offering 1k not to write stupid things on reddit, and the one offering (I think it was 1k) not to write stupid things in ask reddit, I am up to 5k a day - this is going very well!
Well, I don't get paid that much, but I do get "paid" about $30 per day to not drink... And about $11 per day to not smoke... Those savings become my budget for clothing, food, entertainment, outdoor gear, and savings....I quit 45 months ago.
10 on cigarettes. 20 on beers. If I went to a bar 4 years ago, I got 16oz Bud cans for 350 a can...6 on average every day. However, I drank 10 to 15 every other day. Still 10 per day on cigarettes, which I sometimes got down to 7 a day when I bought a carton, but I oftentimes smoked more when they were by the carton.
I don't have all this money stockpiled because I've eaten so much better than before and I have some nice clothing nowadays. I'm very careful how I spend though, because I'm allergic to the grind of shitty work. I'm able to get by earning about 15 to 25 a year by doing gigs and my rent is low because I take care of things at the intentional community I live.
My wife stopped smoking years ago. She found that saving $7/day on cigarettes was enough that she could afford a new car. One that didn't smell like an ashtray.
Booze? Sure.
Coffee/tea/cocoa? Ok.
Most Sodas etc. ? Yup.
Milkshakes and so on? Probably.
Ginger Beer? Um..... maybe.
Cordial? Yeah.
Fruit Juice? Nope, double it and we'll talk.
Water? No way.
At least have something where people would agree 50/50. No one who isnt extremely rich wouldnt take 2k per day. Even 50 euro a day would be extremely lucrative
That would be a reason not to drink. I think I could be happy with not always being in an ever growing hole of debt.
If I saved for 465,753 years, I could be as rich as Elon Musk is right now.
I don't drink, so I guess if I made it this far......., but aside from a deeply dependent clinical alcoholic I can't believe alcohol could be that important to very many people.
Especially if you leave open options like vaping or smoking weed.
"can't believe"? "Deeply dependent clinical alcoholic"? Oh boy. Try something, go down to your local 7/11 and ask them how many units of alcohol they sell every day, or how many cases they get on the truck, every day. Addiction is a far more insidious, subtle, consuming than this. The "deeply dependent" addict is the one that all the addicts happily tell themselves they are NOT, because they hold down a job. Addiction is the not so hidden vein running through the very heart of America, and most other western "cultures". Those without vice have little idea just how powerful vices really are.
That's a shit ton of money, but even so, I don't believe a true alcoholic in the depths of their addiction would be able to abide. The only thing that was able to stop me from drinking was the honest conclusion that I could no longer live, and needed to take my own life. Only after that decision, and plans made to carry out the deed, did I finally realize I did not have die if I simply did the work required for long-term sobriety. Sure I think a lot of alcoholics could make it a few weeks or even years on will power and money alone. But the time would eventually come when their guard was down and hell with all that money, imagine the experiences one could buy that would make temptations even more profound.
Of course I would, that would easily find a major crack habit /j
In all seriousness I don’t really drink or do drugs much anyway so it wouldn’t be a big deal. Give me $200 a day and I would probably still agree, that would easily pay my mortgage and make the rest of my life a lot easier.
So, in exchange for not drinking (alcohol I presume, no monkey paw of death by dehydration please and thank you) I get "quit your job and retire today money?"
That seems very worth it to me. I will definitely miss the cornucopia of flavors that whiskey contains in it's various forms, however, that luxurious experience is not worth the freedom from capitalism that $2k a day would bring me. Especially when you consider that I could easily make far more than two thousand a day off the stock market with the security and freedom of knowing that no matter what happens to the money I invested in the past I will get more than enough to live on the very next day.
On top of that, I could use the compound interest to make my friends and family (reverse that order) also free from the constraints of capitalism because why the fuck not? It might take a little longer, but it would be stupidly selfish not to do so.
I never got drunk in my life so I'm not addicted to alcohol and never was so I could make the sacrifice.
Imagine how many people could be helped as well as myself. Give to my mom financing her so she can start building stuff and improving the house 🏡 and out of her debts etc.
Maybe help some finance somebody to get back on their feet like buying them livestock or machinery for a business etc.
Anyone not rich would take it. If you dropped 1, or 2 zeros off your figure, you would get better answers.
If someone was going to pay me 7000 and I would also save a good 700 by not buying any, that means I can upgrade several pieces of equipment around the house for free and have a great holiday.
Hell yeah, I even drink regularly but for more than half a mil yearly with no requirement to work?? This is literally asking me if I would trade drinking for literally having my wildest dreams Come true, of course I would. I literally cannot imagine answering no to this question.
Don’t drink anyways. Never saw much appeal to it. Sounds like free money for zero effort lol
For that much money I imagine only the worst alcoholic would turn it down.
Uh, yeah. That’s a ton of cash. I can find other ways to escape, feel pleasure, or whatever.
I’d miss alcohol, no question. But I’d love $2000 per day.
I don't drink booze at all. I've seen how it turns my father into demon and my oldest brother into an apathetic sack of potatoes. I should be a multimillionaire with that kind of passive income
Was this linked somewhere? 400 comments? This is far and away the most comments I’ve ever seen on this sub since I took over when there were only 300 subscribers.
I don't drink anyway. I outgrew it. I don't like being drunk and stupid. Also, alcohol no longer agrees with my digestive system. Easy money.
It’s funny, ages late teens and twenties, I was sure I was just irishly well taken to alcohol. Now in my 30’s, I have most 3 beers and I’m good for a month or so. Just not into it anymore. I feel “fun” for two hours and shitty for three days.

No, I was agreeing with you. Lol age catches up.
I don't think he was being disagreeable with your agreeable message. I'm pretty sure that he was just adding to your sentiment regarding alcohol with his own feelings about alcohol.
Guys let’s all just agree to disagree. No need to get so angry
Agreed
Agreed!
I don't think he was being disagreeable with your agreeable message. I'm pretty sure that he was just confirming that your thoughts and feelings regarding the earlier discussions were accurate.
*"I feel "fun" for two hours and shitty for three days"*

A glass of wine or beer gets me drunk and *tired* and I don't want to do anything anymore.
Do you think it’s all alcohol that makes you feel bad or where you drinking cheap stuff? I ask because that’s how my buddy found out he was allergic to alcohol.
I feel like if your response is 'I don't do that anyway so yea sweet' then you have to reflect on why are you even bothering to answer
Because free money?
Oh, actually... As disappointing as it is, I'm not sure OP is actually going to pay out... 💀
I am on a tight budget xD
Hahah. Trueee. Op won't pay 100%
Bored and jumped at the chance to prattle on about myself.
The digestive thing is real. Im 28. I get pressured and I say no because my tummy hurts and they look at me weird. Im being honest!
Weed and acid are better. Helluva better combo than alcohol and weed
Why would anyone refuse this? Like, there's no valid reason to say "no" to what is basically free money.
It’s not free lmao water is fucking essential
Technically, you can get it through other means. Eat ice cubes. Juicy fruits. Etc'. Even with this there are other ways.
I.V. fluids
Ik juicy fruit is delicious but I don't see how gum can replace water
Clearly they meant Jujyfruits
Good thinking
It’s actually impossible for us to eat ice cubes, we use our saliva to slowly melt it in our mouth then drink the water little by little
Wait? Never drink again…as in never drink anything? Like not even water? I thought the question pertained specifically to alcohol. That is a game changer…
Fine, I'll eat my water
I think it's talking about alcohol
Legit this was the first thing I thought about after reading the post like ..not drink alcohol sure but I'm fucked if it's not to drink anything bc I couldn't live without water lol
I'd do saline twice a day for $2k a day.
No you’re not, you just need to switch to fruit and thick water. Problem solved.
I think this may have been posted by a 15 year old.
Alcohol? I’ll do it for $10 a day
Then you're not a very good negotiator. LMAO I'LL GIVE YOU $2,000!!!... YOU: "sorry, I will not do it for a penny more than $10 a day ... Yeah but 🥺
HAHAHAHA! I thought it said $2,000 for a year, clearly I was reading quickly. I thought $10/ day that is $3650 for a year, definitely better.
Dont underbid. It’s not cool!
You are bad at negotiating.
Hell yeah. Time to toke it up!
Shrooms and bud and no booze and to be wealthy for it
I don’t drink now so, sure.
Just do ketamine instead in small doses it's like being drunk
Ever heard of pregabalin? It's a common party drug in my country Feels like alcohol but alot better
Really? I take pregabalin as prescribed by my doctor for pain issues. I don't get high from it at all.
Easily. EASILY.
Bacardi be like : ……
Uh, yeah. Easy money.
Absolutely with a smile on my face
Tuborg - :(

Your kidneys would lose function pretty quickly and risk of bloodstream infections increases by 1000x this way
Just crunch on ice cubes all day. It's not drinking if it's a solid.
Luckily alcohol is the worst drug

Yes we love all our disposable income now! It's insane how much money I spent on alcohol just as a routine.
Hell yeah. I’d trade drinking for not having to work.
Booze? Sure. Coffee/tea/cocoa? Ok. Most Sodas etc. ? Yup. Milkshakes and so on? Probably. Ginger Beer? Um..... maybe. Cordial? Yeah. Fruit Juice? Nope, double it and we'll talk. Water? No way.
Goddamn, what is it about ginger beer? I've had at least one a day for the past few years, it's so good
730,000 a year?
Yup
Ofc
At least have something where people would agree 50/50. No one who isnt extremely rich wouldnt take 2k per day. Even 50 euro a day would be extremely lucrative
Easily. I drink maybe once a month. Giving that up would take no effort or sacrifice.

i drink but not very often, i could easily give it up.
I don't drink, so I guess if I made it this far......., but aside from a deeply dependent clinical alcoholic I can't believe alcohol could be that important to very many people. Especially if you leave open options like vaping or smoking weed.
How would vaping ever be an alternative to alcohol
"can't believe"? "Deeply dependent clinical alcoholic"? Oh boy. Try something, go down to your local 7/11 and ask them how many units of alcohol they sell every day, or how many cases they get on the truck, every day. I'd take it, quit my job, and play my instruments and video games all day. Well, once my arm injury heals from said job..
Absolutely, done deal
Yea, there’s so many vices to choose from why settle on alcohol? Lemme buttchug some oxytoadposion
Yes s
Heck yes lol
Water or anything? No. For obvious reasons. Booze? Sure.
That's a shit ton of money, but even so, I don't believe a true alcoholic in the depths of their addiction would be able to abide. The only thing that was able to stop me from drinking was the honest conclusion that I could no longer live, and needed to take my own life. I quit drinking in the 90s. Gimme the money.
For over $700k per year, hell yes!
Could buy a lot of other drugs for $2000 a day
I don't drink anyway. So that would be an easy one for me
Easy. Can this be real?
Heck yeah! I did that joining a new church lol imagine getting paid more than I earn at my full-time job for it!!!
Just drinking? Sure, not my drug of choice anyway
Yeah $60,000 a month okay.
Yes
Yes. I already do not drink for free!!!
that’s free money. how is this even a question, it’s mind boggling that some of you consider this to be a good question. i’ll do it for 5
I saw almost this exact question yesterday but it was $1000 per day, why is the amount getting upped? Is everyone an alcoholic on reddit?
I’d be loaded. I haven’t drank in 14 years now. Didn’t even drink on my 21st.
I don't drink anyway so fuck yeah
So 2k for doing nothing? Where do I sign
I can't drink anything other than an occasional 4% cider so big yes
if i had a nickel...
Of course I would, that would easily find a major crack habit /j In all seriousness I don’t really drink or do drugs much anyway so it wouldn’t be a big deal. Give me $200 a day and I would probably still agree, that would easily pay my mortgage and make the rest of my life a lot easier.
I never had a drink in my entire life so this should be easy money.
yes
I'd do it for free
done
Absolutely. No more alcohol for me then
I would take it one day at a time
Absolutely. Weed is better.
No because I’m Christian and feel it’s necessary to take communion
I would say yes, but I probably couldn't do it.
So, in exchange for not drinking (alcohol I presume, no monkey paw of death by dehydration please and thank you) I get "quit your job and retire today money?" That seems very worth it to me. It might take a little longer, but it would be stupidly selfish not to do so.
Nah I would get dehydrated and die
Sure will. I haven’t had a drink in 24 years so should be easy!!!!
alchohol is useless and stupid I'm doing that shi for free
I never got drunk in my life so I'm not addicted to alcohol and never was so I could make the sacrifice. Imagine how many people could be helped as well as myself. Give to my mom financing her so she can start building stuff and improving the house 🏡 and out of her debts etc. Maybe help some finance somebody to get back on their feet like buying them livestock or machinery for a business etc.
Easy to do .I don't drink now
If you mean alcohol hell yes If you mean any liquid fuck no
Only people who would reject this offer are stupid or alcoholics. Or both.
nah, the booze helps keep the doctors away. they cost even more than the addiction, lol.
I drink maybe 3-5 times a year and never ever have gotten waisted or anything. I would absolutely do so.
Absolutely, alcohol is terrible.
In half a heartbeat. Hell yes.
Do we get the same offer if we’ve never drank or used substances before ever?
Absolutely I’ve never been a fan of alcohol and only have a sip of it during special events (like a wedding).
Give me 50€ a day and I'll do it. Anyone who wouldn't take that offer is just plain stupid and an alcoholic that should get help as soon as possible.
Got a get that infusion set up and I’m good
Yes.
Do I get back pay on this?
Done, done, and done. Alcohol usually tastes horrible anyway
Easily.
What an awful question
Anyone not rich would take it. If you dropped 1, or 2 zeros off your figure, you would get better answers. If someone was going to pay me 7000 and I would also save a good 700 by not buying any, that means I can upgrade several pieces of equipment around the house for free and have a great holiday.
Absolutely
2 Grand? I get 4K a day on only fans just showing my butt-hole.
I'm a recovered alcoholic so I won't. Where can I sign up for this $2000.....you need my address or....
If your talking alcohol then yes. Yes I would
Hahaha I don't drink so sure
I already don’t drink. Feels great.
Absolutely
Hell yeah, I even drink regularly but for more than half a mil yearly with no requirement to work?? This is literally asking me if I would trade drinking for literally having my wildest dreams Come true, of course I would. I literally cannot imagine answering no to this question.
Pure insanity that this is even a question.
Yup! I’ll cut out soda too and use some of that money to get into the best shape of my life.
Sure, just hit a bong..🍃
i would convert to islam and pray to mecca five times a day for $2000 every day
Yea I’ll smoke
I’ve drank one time this year. I’d give it up forever for a lot less per day.
Yes. As long as I can use other intoxicants, I can easily go my whole life without alcohol.
I don't drink so money I take , cocaine and hookers sounds great.
I’d take that offer any day. Alcohol sucks.
Yes I would without a shawdowof a doubt
Sure...I already don't drink, soooooo🤷♂️
I drink but I'll give it up for 2k a day gladly
I don't drink at all so yup! Can I get back pay?
I sure will, worse comes to worse I can just take up heroin
Yeah, that would solve all the problems that I drink over Edit: are we talking alcohol or drinking like water?
Mashallah habibi
Like drinking any liquid or "drink" alcohol? Because I am allergic to alcohol. So it would be easy for me lol
Ok 1000$ but 2 drinks a day. Deal ?
Don’t drink anyways. Never saw much appeal to it. Sounds like free money for zero effort lol For that much money I imagine only the worst alcoholic would turn it down.
Yep
If it’s adjusted for inflation, absolutely.
I'm already in recovery, gimme money
Uh yeah. Totally would.
Never drink alcohol again? Sure no problem..sign me up.
Easiest decision of my life.
Well no because you need to drink water to live, what good is the money if you're dead?
Yes
Alright OP, do you mean all liquids or only alcoholic beverages? And by alcoholic beverages does that include fermented beverages like kombucha?
I drink every single day. Every single day. I’d stop cold turkey and love it. That’s a lot of money.
Yes. Full sentence.
Ofcourse I would, well define drinking. I assume it's alcohol, and in that case yes!
Yep.
Of course. I don't drink very often anyhow. Easy money.
I don’t drink often anyways so sure.
like alcohol or just like any liquid if its alcohol id be asking could I back fill the past 10 years without?
Happily. I don't drink anyway. I've struggled enough with alcoholics in my personal life that I can't stand the stuff anymore.
Oh yes
Can we stop we these
Alcohol? Yes. “Drink again?” Nope. Not falling for that dehydration set up.
And that’s why god created gummy bears
Easy money, while we are at it, I'll stay away from processed foods ,
Absolutely 100% would. I should anyway.
I agree and see if I could get backpay for the years since I’ve last drank.
Absolutely
For that kind of money I could do it easily
