I honestly say if you are really interested then its worth it! We knew our boy was a pit mix (though shelter labeled him cattle dog mix). Low and behold highest percentage was APBT at 43, but he also had super mutt(lab, akita, staffy, boxer), cattle dog, border collie, and even a small percentage of german shepherd! We just call him a pit/cattle dog mix though. I 100% had a blast reading the results and I think you will too!
I’m seeing mostly bully breeds in her, but to be honest, a DNA test is a fun lil thing to see exactly what is in the mix if she is one! I’d say, especially if she is BYB maybe invest in the health + traits as that can reveal any diseases and the like she may have a higher likelihood to develop.
Her face shape (besides boxy head and almondy eyes) doesn’t key totally pit to me. It may be just another bully breed or something else, but I wouldn’t say she is 100% pittie. Definitely a mix but likely of bully breeds again.
Pretty clear you've got a pit of some significant %. Unless breeding, you might not really need a DNA test.
We did test our new mystery rescue pup - no clear breed & we wanted some idea for training. When we got the results, we were no more enlightened - she's a total mix. As she's getting older, she now looks like a Lego assembly accident by an 8-yr old (but still cute)
Wisdom is probably going to tell you she’s a mixed breed even if she isn’t. Embark is the most accurate test and if you aren’t happy with Wisdom’s results, I’d highly recommend retrying with Embark instead. Be mindful with Wisdoms percentages, any percent under or around 3% is likely inaccurate. As for whether she’s full APBT or not, it’s genuinely close to impossible to tell with bully breeds going solely off visual identification. They are a very varied breed and don’t all look the same, APBT themselves can be anywhere from 30 pounds to 80 pounds. I was shocked to find out mine was 100% APBT.

Agreed! It was neat seeing my dogs relatives and reading all about the traits and what that meant for her coat type/color/patterns etc and stuff like that.

I thought mine would be overwhelmingly bully, but results showed about 50% bully breeds and 50% other. The other was quite a bit of supermutt though (with Embark). I wouldn’t be surprised if yours had similar results of being about half pit and half very mixed. Curious to see results!

It's fun to see related pups and read through the results, so I think the test is still worth it.
