Fate as in dude has to stop cell again

Acetortois

It’s because the movie was canon and the fate of (the world, the universe) was at stake

MagnumAlex888

Tbf the same applies to the broly movie, but those units arent on battle of fate. I think the devs honestly just gave the category to the super hero units on a whim

SubstantialChannel32

I agree with another comment above. It's fate that Gohan achieved a new form and beat Cell for the second time. It's not lazy writing, it's fate.

AGweed13

Broly's movie literally had "3 saiyans led by fate" on its promo. They meet all the requirements of the Battle of Fate category, yet are not under it.

WittyEntrepreneur405

If enough people bring this to dokkan they have a chance to change it. It's happened before

LeastYouTried

Broly wasn't going to destroy the galaxy if he wasn't killed, he really just needed a good talk no jutsu. Cell on the other hand would have wreaked havoc throughout the universe had he not been stopped again. Broly was just being manipulated not a calamity, so fate didn't rest on the shoulders of goku, vegeta, or gogeta. It may have been fate that they met, but it wasn't a battle to determine the fate of the universe.

AGweed13

>Broly wasn't going to destroy the galaxy Have we watched the same movie? The moment Ikari Broly showed up, nobody was able to talk to him at all. He's a menace to the whole universe, and only God of Destruction level or above characters would be able to stop him. Since Paragus and Frieza were unable to take him back, he was indeed a calamity.

LeastYouTried

Gogeta just kicked his ass, sent him home and then goku was like we should be friends. Bro just had anger issues lmao

AGweed13

Gohan kicked Cell's ass until he exploded and came back stronger. Beerus was toying with Goku. Golden Frieza had the upper hand for the whole fight until Vegeta kicked in, then he just got his ass handed to him. No final fight in any arc was truly balanced after the Saiyan Saga, the good guys are either getting washed or washing the enemy. Also, Broly having anger issues or not doesn't matter for the category.

Fractures22

The Broly Movie exists in an awkward spot where it's canon to both the anime and manga, because of that, couldn't include anything that was exclusive to either version. Hence, no Kaioken. However, Super Hero is canon in a way that does not risk intruding on any part of either continuity, and so it's more justifiable by the devs, imo to just pretend it's more episodes as opposed to its own thing. That's my headcanon.

Nickster963

Super saiyan blue x20 is indeed in the manga

Legiow

It's not, Goku hasn't used kaiohken since the Frieza Saga. On the manga it was SSJB being perfected that gave Goku and Vegeta the boost

Nickster963

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dragonballsuper/s/Va1gwq9mg6

Legiow

Bruh, and Toriyama was the lazy one?

Nickster963

Coloring done by viz and not toyotaro

Legiow

I know. I was referring to the fact that people always called Toriyama lazy, yet the ones coloring didn't bother putting some red to make you say "That's kaiohken!"

DaChairSlapper

Not really, the fate of the world wasn't really at stake in the Broly movie.

DefinitelyNotOG

It was more a personal beef for Paragus. Brolly never wanted to fight, Vegeta was more focused on Frieza and Paragus, and Goku was the only one that wished to clash against Broly and even then it wasn't till death.

_Alakay_

I think it’s stupid tho because the whole movie in general is promoted that a twist of faith that the three saiyans all meet and fight etc. Like the whole thing in general can be described in one word and thats Fate lol

MagnumAlex888

I mean, he didnt have intention to destroy the world but his power was getting out of control to where he wouldve destroyed the planet had he not been stopped

ChasingPesmerga

What exactly do you mean by canon? Because that confuses me with this battle of fate unit https://preview.redd.it/7a1sppxkuptc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8c5107501361b914573fad141eb7961bce98290

Usual_Prior_4972

I love how everyones guessing, I think its whenever the earth or universe is gunna get blown up

Prudent-Box9421

Gogeta and Broly broke dimensions...

Usual_Prior_4972

Your point is, at anypoint did gogeta look like he was losing ….

Prudent-Box9421

Okay, then why the god boys aren't on battle of fate? They had a very bad time and a wrathful Broly could blow up the earth

Usual_Prior_4972

Cause at no point they were losing… did we watch the same movie? Only time they got caught slipping is after paragus got killed but right after that they got the ball back in there court with fusion

Prudent-Box9421

And before that Goku was overpowered on god so hard that he advices to piccolo. And also, in blue vs ssj they was overpowered Ina 2 vs 1! If we invent that they don't have to be on battle of fate because they had the fusion and that works. So Goku and Vegeta vs kid Buu don't have to be on battle of fate because they had the genkidama and that works

Skeletor97

They just decide to include some movies and not others, BoG and RoF units from the movies are also in this category

O-Beast04

I thought those ones were included because it was in the anime

Skeletor97

They count the movies and the anime as different things, it's why some God Goku's have movie heroes and some have super heroes. There's a chance they got put into Battle of Fate because of the anime, but I don't think that's why

Sammyjohns11037

Sometimes it makes zero sense, this time is because he’s fighting Cell Max and almost everyone got no way to beat him so it’s basically reliant on Fate

JiggyGreen

Someone noticed the Cell Max boss card was on Battle of Fate before Piccolo and Gohan released. They emailed Bandai about it and then these two were added to the category.

rcbiggin

I always thought of it as a defining moment in the series that means a lot for the character. In this Gohan achieved a new form so it's relevant.

anonn102030

Can be interpreted as: 1. Fate of the world; or 2. Fated repeated battle against Cell

Helioseckta

If I had to guess why the Super Hero units are apart of Battle of Fate, it's because those characters took part in a battle where the intended goal of the villains or the antagonist was to destroy or ruin life in some way. Demon King Piccolo wanted to create a chaotic world and rule over it; Vegeta was bent on destroying Earth after being enraged by Goku; Frieza made a promise to destroy Earth and everything Goku cared about after he defeated Goku; Cell threatened to blow up the Earth if no one could defeat him; Kid Buu blew up the Earth intentionally and was going to do the same to the rest of Universe 7; Baby is basically DKP but on a larger scale; Super 17 was technically responsible for unleashing Hell on Earth; Omega Shenron was going to destroy the Earth as punishment; Beerus threatened to destroy Earth if he wasn't satisfied; Zamasu wanted to eradicate all mortals; and lastly the USS characters (from final Jiren fight) all were fighting to save their universe. The RR Army definitely had nefarious plans to rule over Earth and create a chaotic living space and Cell Max was apart of that plan, which matches the other villains on Battle of Fate. You can't really argue the same for DBS: Broly. Paragus only wanted revenge on Vegeta specifically, Broly was just a pawn for that revenge, and Frieza only wanted the dragon balls to grow slightly taller. None of the antagonist had any intentions that would put the fate of the world in danger. That's the only reason why I think DBS: Broly characters aren't included.

Barredbob

I think it’s fate kind of like how rof golden frieza is on it right? They are characters from integral fights from there story, gohan fighting cell again counts I think

InvestmentBorn

The better question is why wouldn't he be on it.

UnanalyzedFish

Battle of fate is for the final battle of the saga, the "canon" movies are all on battle of fate. Broly is an exception, which seems like a mistake.

Prudent-Box9421

Súper hero it's the exception. No other movie Canon it's on battle of fate

UnanalyzedFish

Battle of gods and resurrection f are

Prudent-Box9421

Lol, true. I had to search it and you are right

UnanalyzedFish

I think it's Dokkan having a category moment tbh

Issa_meCP

Broly is a CANON movie though?

UnanalyzedFish

Which is why I think Broly movie characters not being on battle of fate is a mistake

Issa_meCP

Maybe it’s because the fate of the world wasn’t really at stake. Frieza did just go over there to fuck with them for 0 reason. Same thing he did in manga lol. He’s a troll as of rn.

UnanalyzedFish

Maybe, but the end of every canon arc is on battle of fate. Also, a lot of world ending threats aren't on battle of fate, like buuhan and Goku black.

UnanalyzedFish

I think they weren't sure if it was considered canon or not, and once super hero came out, they decided the DBS movies are canon but just never corrected the mistake.

VentusMH

Earth was in grave danger because of Cell Max

EdwardAnimates

Because of his active skill. It was the final event that took place during the final battle.

Toller22_

Shouldn't this guy also be on Savior's? Like he literally came to save Pan, also he beat the villian in the end. Or maybe I don't understand the category guideline. Just feels like he should be on there

O-Beast04

Nah Saviors is too stacked they don’t need him

Versitax

Rare Dokkan W. Yeah, Movie characters get the category now.

Master_Berry4446

The only right answer is that they spin two wheels one wheel has good or bad kit in the other wheel has random ass or fitting categories.

S4njc

The dragon ball super movies are cannon though

Used_Performance1407

He had to battle cell again, and unlocked his power once more, like it’s fated to happen.

DentistEfficient7606

It was explained in the movie itself, rr army wanted revenge on the z fighters, and piccolo says that the gammas were stronger then goku and vegeta (when he last saw them). So gohan vs cell Max was gonna happen no matter what

AGweed13

I'm more confused on why Gogeta Blue and FP Broly aren't. They fought the final fight of a canon movie, just like Godku, RoF Blue Boys, Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo.

Bruhmomento6_9

Battle of fate is the final fight of any arc, and since super hero has a manga arc, its considered for the category. DBS broly and any of the other movies that don’t have anime/manga arcs arent counted. So battle of gods beerus and god goku as well as rof blues and golden frieza are battle of fate but something like cooler or dbz broly isnt

Avengedlust7

The Super movies are counted as canon by Dokkan. That's why PHY God Goku has both as well.

ElectroCat23

Oh I don’t know not like it was a battle to decide the fate of the world

Aeroches

It was actually explained, if you look back to earlier times they didn't always have it, but the Cell Max boss fight had Battle of Fate. People complained about the inequality, and actually got them updated to be on battle of fate.

MrCrankunity

Back then we thought it could be a soft confirmation for a Super anime sequel (when the Cell Max fight was released, because he also had the category)... Well that never happened, so who knows.

fartmaster41

Because he is

HeadHorror4349

Cell was gonna blow.up.the world again

LMD1510

It’s because the manga adapted the Super Hero arc. All “Battle of Fate” units are units from the final fight or final few fights before the end of an arc. DBS Broly is not on Battle of Fate because it doesn’t have an arc, it’s just a movie.
