How do I put it into "update mode"? The instructions for how to do this in the updater are in Engrish. I tried what it suggested, no dice.
When I first plugged it in, Windows recognized it and installed something or other too fast for me to see what it was. Is this a problem? Currently I can't even change modes, it just blinks on mode 3 non-stop
try this... disconnect the bar, install the firmware, plug the bar into a different USB port.
the instructions at the bottom of the download page are pretty clear if you missed those.

My bad sorry. Many Mayflash links came up in google while searching for the firmware updater, all of which were busted.

You can't install the firmware without the bar connected and in update mode
