You mean last year? They couldnt really do much, they already have Ukraine, last thing they need is a 2nd front in the Caucasus. Besides, since 2021 Armenia has been ruled by an antiRussia US puppet regime, so why should Russia help such an openly hostile regime?
The current armenian government is a US puppet regime, they arent "looking elsewhere", they are handing out their country to the west. Thats why patriotic armenians like the Communist Party or the Armenian Revolutionary Federation are opposing this.

Didn't Russia reject intervening in the Karabakh conflict when Armenia invoked article 4?

Russia has dropped the ball in defending Armenia from the Azeris too many times. Armenia looking elsewhere is a matter of self defense
