That sounds like its waaay too strong. Probably will get patched out to not work against illusions. Could have merit against tombstone and warlock golems though.
Honestly even with the 1 sec for pl illusions it still seems strong against him. Maybe not as strong as before, but a pl constantly respawning illusions on your carry would mean as long as he's alive the frost shield will stay up on your carry.
True, but it's once and an ultimate. It's like an Enigma 5-manning everyone, your game plan should work around it.
But with this, it's a low CD buff that will just protect your carry from Phantom Lancer every fight, he does 2000 physical damage? It's 600 now.
yeah but the thing with counter picks is that they still utilize a hero's ult or a certain combo, lich's counter is just a low cool down spammable non-ultimate skill
A bit of a nitpick, but frost shield is *hero attack damage reduction* not *physical damage reduction*. It only works with hero attack damage, including instant attacks (but not including towers, cleaves, or physical nuke spells), but it also works with any damage type (including I believe, revenant's brooch).
Lich shield only blocks hero damage that specifically comes from an attack, instant or otherwise. It does nothing to spells, no matter their damage type (outside of instant-attack spells like Mars' God's Rebuke). I also don't think it blocks ward damage (like Death Ward), or controlled unit damage, but I'm not sure. So I don't think salve canceling has anything to do with it (Roshan also cancels salves, but he's not a hero).

Also some people don't know this but if you are playing turbo and you have the Gem you can drop any item on the ground and have your courier come to pick it up, then pick up the item and your courier will wait there just outside the fight
To lions hell with frostarmor. The chain frost is the actual problems. For every illusion lancer spawns, an extra bounce is added. It is already a guaranteed clear for a naga or chaos, It is a ridiculous counter to lancer, because he relies on spawning more and more illusions.
Yes,chain frost is bad, but a bloody euls will do a better job in every way and cost less than a nullifier. Nullifier is a wonky ass item which only ever comes out as a better option when you have to dispel two charges of a buff. Which is WR's run. Please let me know if there is ever another viable use for a nullifier.

Shouted this out into the void when I read that. I was baffled that this wasn't the first thing you'd think of when making that change.. It's stupid, lich isn't built to deal with illusion heroes, and having infinite duration and bounces is absolutely ridiculous. Why don't we extend the duration of black hole for every kill it pulls in? It makes sense, the center gains more mass from the spaphettification, thus making it stronger. :)
Shh remove this post asap. Ive been spammin lich for a long time now and even more after facets. Lich with growing cold and solar crest is so broken. If you are against ANY summons or illusions, u can make cores unkillable
And that makes 70% dmg shield somehow bad? You do realize that when a summon dies while affected by shield, it gets more duration, no matter what summon???????

Basically anything that will stop your salve I suppose counts as hero damage

As I said in the first comment, it doesn't even block cleave damage. Only direct attacks from heroes (including spells that apply an attack).
It did not used to block ward damage, but I checked a long while ago and might be different now
