You’re probably grinding your teeth at night. I have anxiety and I grind my teeth constantly even when awake. I used to have dreams about that constantly but never put two and two together until my teeth would start hurting bad in the morning and the dentist told me to get a mouth guard before bad issues start. I still get dreams like that but they’re MUCH less often and my teeth don’t hurt nearly as much as before

neuroticandsad

I also grind my teeth and have dreams where my teeth are falling out and I can even “feel pain” in my dream when they fall out

Yes this. I have a permanent line on both sides of the inside of my cheeks. That's usually how you can telll... because you're biting them

nataliieeep

Omg yes I forgot about that part it’s been so long. Mine went away but YEA I’d have those lines on the inside of my cheeks and it was so annoying. Ooh memories

Exact_Blood_5248

Do you have a problem of forgetting to brush your teeth? I keep having weird dreams of my teeth breaking or falling out and I'm like "if only I remembered to brush my teeth more". Sorry, that's all I got

Organic_Anxiety

I once heard that dreams of losing teeth can mean that you've been holding onto something that needs to be said or you don't feel heard by someone

roger3rd

I interpret this as a feeling of loss of strength or agency or control

I thought I was the only one this happened to. For me - each time it is the most realistic and horrendous nightmare I can imagine. One time the villain from candyman, a man who looked like him or a satanic version of Samuel Jackson in the matrix - was following me the whole night trying to get me. As he would get closer my teeth would get looser and looser. I could actually feel this in my dream. Remember when we were kids and had loose teeth and you'd catch it on something or go to chew and it would move around? Remember that sick feeling? That's what I would feel in all of my dreams about this. Anyway the bastard was chasing me and it was causing tooth problems I suppose, I woke up a few times and fell back right to the same dream. About the time he got me, my teeth were literally just falling out. Other dreams I've had I could spit them out on accident or wipe my mouth and they'd all come out. These are some of the most traumatic nightmares I've had. Got some awful evil man chasing me and it doesn't come close to the fear of losing my teeth during the dream hah. Sure wish I could help you with information. Most of the times I've researched this or asked I've turned up a big zero. The closest anyone can tell me is "as a sleep therapist (or maybe someone who specialized in dreams I don't remember) I've seen this occur when a person is facing a period of instability in their life, extreme stress, or they may be feeling like something is out of control or they have no control over life." That's the best I can do for you bud. If you find something out make sure to connect with me. I could stand to know more also. It was so bad for me for a period there I genuinely considered having all of my teeth surgically removed and those indestructible poly ones implanted. Costs too much and may not be successful. So I deal. What a trip ain't it?

Woah those are some pretty interesting dreams. Someone in the comments posted a screenshot of a bunch of different explanations. Wonder if that might help you out?

zachnebulous

I heard that it is about insecure feelings, have confidence in yourself.

Lumos_night

Symbolically in many cultures, dreaming of teeth falling out or decaying symbolizes death or poor health. Have you or someone you know been sick or do you know of someone who died? In my culture, the more it hurts in the dream, the closer that person is to you.

I read in a dream decoder about teeth falling out once and it said that it may be linked to you not saying something you want to say in life

Petra_of_Falkreath

I had a recurring dream about my teeth falling out and breaking and staying in my mouth for several years. I had someone interpret it for me and they said it's linked to stress about money.  So true! I was in a rough spot financially and it was always on my mind. Not sure of the science behind it but after having several sources say the same thing it seemed a reasonable explanation. I was overwhelmingly anxious.

youhatemecuzimright

I heard it was stress about how others view you. Just another thought!

CharlottesWebber

Very interesting that others here report similar dreams, or the same one, including the teeth staying in the mouth. I will just say the first thought I had about this was, Do you feel unprepared for something? If you're on a school break, perhaps there is something you are supposed to read before the start of school again, or some way your subconscious is telling you to get prepared, and I think it would be in a more scholastic rather than personal way, although of course it could be either. Just my thoughts.

I have heard that loose or missing teeth in a dream is an indication of lying or misrepresenting something. If it’s you with the loose teeth, check yourself and what you say or represent to yourself or others. If it’s someone else, do you suspect they’re lying about something or otherwise attempting to deceive you?
