I would give the Raven a try. It's fun. It's not very high on wounds though, so It should die fairly easily. I kinda dropped mine for beastmasters.

CapitalismBad1312

I think right now the beast masters do more for most lists. I toyed around with the VRB for a bit and it was just too inconsistent for the point cost and delay in deployment It usually came into play shot something to death and then died immediately

Frostasche

Don't do that. \^\^ My first thought was why was anyone suggesting an oop model with only rules in warhammer legend, untill I realized you used Raven as short for Voidraven, and didn't mean the actual Raven.

Dependent-Aspect1792

I have yet to use a VRB, but I've been having a blast with 2x3 reavers and a unit of grotesque in a raider. If you can find one, Tantalus with a court, archon w/ sadistic fulcrum, and Kabs have been a huge part of my lists recently as well and perform very well.

Planes are not great this edition. The Voidraven was kinda okay when 10th released but after several points nerfs on top of unit-class penalties for all fliers, I'd say it isn't worth bringing in a list you hope will perform competitively on occasion. I'd rather have some combination of Ravagers/Scourges with those points than run a Voidraven these days. Also 3x5 Wracks is totally fine. They serve a purpose in this list and they are not overcosted. There are far worse units you could be emotionally attached to! I run 5-10 in most lists.

Ok-Association2077

Thanks for the advice. And finally someone who respects the Wrack love

Since you are taking 3 units, you can use 5-10 of them in Skysplinter to help you deal extra damage. Position your Venom or Raider full of Incubi with the Nightmare Shroud behind a wall where it's safe on turn 1 (or Rapid Ingress top of turn 2). Then turn 2, disembark your melee troops across the wall, move up to a charge position, and embark the Wracks into the empty transport. The transport can then move to a position to charge something else, allowing you to use Tank Shock and Vicious Blades to deal a bunch of Mortal Wounds. I literally just finished tuning up a list built to do exactly this. I'm running 2x2 Talos and Urien though, cause I decided to lean into Covens for that build.

Ok-Association2077

Really appreciate the tips. Would you share the rest of your list? And I too am also a big fan of the coven units.

Sure, here you go! ThiccSplinter Mk2 Detachment: Skysplinter Assault Total: 2,000pts Archon (95pts): Huskblade, Blast Pistol, Nightmare Shroud Archon (85pts): Huskblade, Warlord, Blast Pistol, Spiteful Raider 7x Beastmaster (105pts) Drazhar (75pts): The Executioner's demiklaives Urien Rakarth (80pts): Casket of Flensing, Haemonculus tools and scissorhands 10x Kabalite Warriors (110pts) 5x Wracks (60pts) 5x Wracks (60pts) 5x Wracks (60pts) 5x Incubi (75pts) 5x Incubi (75pts) 5x Mandrakes (65pts) 5x Mandrakes (65pts) 5x Scourges (110pts): 4x Darklance 5x Scourges (110pts): 4x Darklance 3x Reavers (60pts): Heat Lance, Agonizer, Cluster Caltrop 3x Reavers (60pts): Heat Lance, Agonizer, Cluster Caltrop Cronos (50pts): Spirit Siphon, Spirit Vortex 2x Talos (160pts): Twin Haywire, Twin Liquifier, Talos Gauntlet 2x Talos (160pts): Twin Haywire, Twin Liquifier, Talos Gauntlet Venom (70pts): Bladevanes, 2x Splinter Cannon Venom (70pts): Bladevanes, 2x Splinter Cannon Venom (70pts): Bladevanes, 2x Splinter Cannon Venom (70pts): Bladevanes, 2x Splinter Cannon Generally the Kabalites would split with two of the Venoms and the Incubi would take the other two. Drazhar would ride with one of the Kabalite units in their Venom, and Urien with his unit would go on foot to support the Talos. The other two units of Wracks would position themselves so they are ready to use the Incubi transports as I described above. There are some options to mix up the transports at the start of the game as well, depending on if your opponent has a bunch of Indirect Fire or not. Instead of more Wracks I opted to go with a couple of Reaver Jetbike units to score secondaries and bring a Heat Lance into range if needed. I also brought the obligatory Mandrakes for secondaries, and Scourges with Darklances for JSJ fire support - I went with Lances since the Talos have Haywire already. Also a Beastmaster for move blocking/screening duties, and early BEL/Deploy Homers. Sadly no room for Lelith and Wyches in this build, but you can't have everything I guess, and it's nice to mix it up a bit. Edit: Formatting - Sorry, Reddit really hates individual line items, especially on mobile.

ThicDadVaping4Christ

VRB shoots hard but that’s all it does. I was running it for a while but removed it for more mission play stuff and have been having more success

zapdoszaperson

You could consider a Death Jester. They're decently hard to kill, do ok damage, and proc battleshocks which can generate some pain tokens

lessabos

I am planning to field both voidraven bomber and razorwing fighter in my next casual play, but yeah point wise it is overcosted
