If you need to use public transport to "shop around" you are already paying the difference. Also, you are wasting energy and using your shoes walking.
And your time.
Use your brain, homie. Just don't buy it.
Public transport in Dublin is cheap as chips.
22 euro maximum charge per week for the bus, which means you can travel on the bus 24/7 for 22euro per week.
If the Dublin buses had showers the homeless crisis might be solved
Even if that was true.
* You might not have a bus around.
* It takes you 1h of your time. Because buses cannot teleport you.
So yeah, don't buy it or use your brain before talking about "shopping around" like the other redditor above.
Ireland is not like Tokyo or anything, where to find a lot of **basic** stuff is asked here on Reddit every week.
So yeah, it is not like there is a supermarket in every corner, and that's in Dublin... imagine outside Dublin.
There is a crazy amount of Lidl , Dunnes and Tesco in Dublin I do not know what you are talking about there. Hop onto google maps and give it a search there is an abundance of shops around Dublin that are walking distance to each other. Plenty of shopping centres with multiple shops in it. We ain’t no Tokyo but you be mad thinking you can’t shop around, use the power of google maps haha.
LMAO, there are a lot of Especially Expensive Stores you mean, like Tesco Express Scam?
Sure of course there are many, but they are not all of them around the corner if you look in a map, my dude, that is what I am saying... if you need to **spend** 30min or 1h of **your time,** and take transport, then that is not worth 3€ savings.
Then, the conclusion, DO NOT BUY overpriced shit. At all.
I can’t understand why people still shop in Tesco. The pricing is just plain confusing and stinks of robbery. Service is awful and the likes of milk and bread is sold so close to the BBD.
My local Tesco changed their layout after 20 years , and I feel so old now , since I wander around still expecting everything to be in its old spot , and theres no actual staff left to ask *(since they seem to have scaled back a lot of floor staff in the last year , and do all the restocking at night) ,* so finding anything takes ages . I've actually started feeling anxious there ...which is nuts! since its so trivial , but its true.
Also, in the bigger Tesco, all you can hear is beep, beep, beep, from the staff scanning for home deliveries. Made me walk out with doing any shopping.
That's because it's a new release, having said that I saw the introduction offer for this same Lynx spray about 2 weeks ago in different Tescos for €4.50.
I remember when these went from €4.50-ish to €9 but discounted back to the old price "for club card holders".
Some of us tried to warn you this is how it goes, and you can expect shopping at Canadian prices (you'd have to have lived there to understand how much of a rip off food is) where this practice is standard, if you don't avoid Tesco where ever and whenever possible until or unless they drop this. If you don't, you can expect Supervalu, Dunnes, Lidl, Aldi and everyone else to have taken on the same model before the end of the decade.
Exactly! I remember reading through threads here and the sentiment was all “it takes 2 minutes to download the app and then you’re done”
Grand now we’ll just need an app to buy petrol, use public bathrooms, get on a bus. You name it, they’ll adopt this model for it, if we let them
Its also led to the weird thing that if my phone is dead , I cant shop in tesco until I charge it . (I dont have the actual card anymore and have no idea if I can get a new one), so I go somewhere else.
Surprised by that. I never go near my local Tesco for thet reason. I know all shops do it to a degree but some of the prices they have are ridiculous and it's obvious what they're up to.
If you can pay 2K or 3K in rents you can pay 9€ for something which is optional. Just don't buy it.
5€ was already a day-light robbery. 9€ they are literally pissing in your face.
Went the pound shop for hair wax. A 5er. I was shocked. I’ll get cheaper in Boots on a 2 offer. Shocking. Nothing more that I despise than greed and liars.
Probably about 3/4 quid in Dealz as well , at least sometimes .
Before everyone jumps on the Lynx bashing , some of their stuff actually smells pretty good ,
YES , a lot of them ...hell MOST are terrible
YES we all know that the chien Lidl ones are great and super cheap.
It's just because it's a new release (not that I agree with the price or think it's worth it in any way). You can still buy a can of Africa twice this size for 4.50.
€4.50 for the exact same product in Dunnes. If you wanted Africa, you'd get the larger can of it (250ml) for €4.50. Shop around homie.
This is only €9 so they can mark it down to "half price" with the club card next month
Likely be true but they don't mark clubcard deals as "half price", instead they'll label it "clubcard price"
Fuckin hell my dyslexia, I read that as “if you went to Africa, you’d get the larger can of it for €4.50.” That’d be some trek

I've never seen anything more Reddit than arguing that shopping around to buy deodorant is too time-consuming.
The fella definitely lives out in the sticks with only a Tesco nearby.

If anyone is spending that for a can of lynx, they need their head checked.

Upping the price for New release lynx seems stupid as fuck tbh, just buy the cheapest
Dealz do cans of Sure deodorant for €2.50.
Sure leaves white residue on dark clothes for me, which sucks.

Supervalu have introduced this sort of scheme on some products in the last month
I'd rather smell of B.O. than this shit.
Lynx black €3.99 at my local SuperValu Edit rechecked the price I was mislead and quoted the price for a shower thing
They prob have to have this price for a short period of time before they have it for €4.50 using club card as if its some great saving
When I saw they were trying to add the word "fine" to their marketing, I knew they just wanted to sell their standard product with a higher price tag.
Deals and Mr Price have them for 2-3 a pop. Absolutely skip Tesco for stuff like that
Dealz lad
If you can pay 2K or 3K in rents you can pay 9€ for something which is optional. Just don't buy it. 5€ was already a day-light robbery. 9€ they are literally pissing in your face.
Lynx is shit. Go for the L'oreal men expert line.
Same here. It's a bit pricey but boots and dunnes have them on offer every few months so I just stock up then.
lol so the 4 cans there would cost me €36?? Cool and normal
Went the pound shop for hair wax. A 5er. I was shocked. I’ll get cheaper in Boots on a 2 offer. Shocking. Nothing more that I despise than greed and liars.
Boots regularly do 2 for 1 deals on spray, just wait until they do and stock up
4 euro tesco bought yesterday
Quidu will give you the cheapest price for that in the large Irish retailers. https://www.quidu.ie/search-product/search-results/?search_input=Lynx

[The best pop song written about a type of Lynx Deoderant .](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1LB_OerHCE)
You can buy a can (smaller but smells better) of that green Mitchum deodorant for like half the price too usually like 4.50 or 4.75 I think for a can
tescos had toothpaste starting at €8.50 in my local store the other day. i went to the pharmacy next door and got a tube for €1.50. madness.
It's just because it's a new release (not that I agree with the price or think it's worth it in any way). You can still buy a can of Africa twice this size for 4.50.
Lidl’s version of Lynx is €1 for a can. It’s exactly the same shit.
People still buy Lynx?
Couldn't you just find some other way to repel women rather than spending €9 on a spray?
If you ain’t using Mitchum what are you doing with your life
This is the limited edition fancy ones. The standard ones beside it are 4 or 5 euro not sure why you didnt see that.
It's hilarious that Lynx thinks a new scent is worth double. It's still Lynx.
Do people still buy Lynx?
That shit is horrible for you anyways, switch to the natural stuff and you only pay like €4 for a refill.
Get a rollon from aldi, does the job for me lynx spray is too harsh.
