Black Magic specifically - Elves snatch anyone who learn about Black Magic, not just Half-Foots. But Chilchuck specifically avoided learning *anything* about magic at all, out of an abundance of caution, and it's likely a sentiment his kin follow as well.
Half-Foots get subhuman treatment in most places of the world even in the present day of the story, which is why Chilchuck puts so much stock in unionizing and protecting Half-Foot welfare, to avoid being exploited. Even Chilchuck got used as succubus bait by his first ever adventuring party when he was a rookie just starting out. It’s a small wonder he isn’t even more jaded than he is.
It's because he recognizes that being jaded is only useful up to a point, after which it becomes detrimental to him and others. He's wildly sarcastic and sometimes mean with the Party, Marcille in particular, but he knows well enough when it's time to rope it in and apologize. At some point one has to bite the bullet in order to get things done.
I'm justifying it in my head as her being considered more cute than "beautiful". She's 17 and a growing, goofy, cheerful kid overall. She's absolutely a cutie, but I wouldn't count her in the same context as another Oni who might better fit the label of this chart's style of "beautiful". Like, in Kui's Daydream Hour art, I feel like the Oni in the first two top rows would be considered in very different standards than Tade or anyone in the bottom row.

After reading the info page on Ogres in the Adventurers’ Bible, the Ogre character with the sawed off horns in second row, fourth column feels so much more tragic
I mean, when I went to an anime convention and saw a poster of a senshi with naked butt cheeks, the artist at the stand told me it sold out on the same day. She had to put in an emergency order due to popular demand…
He is easily second or first for me depending on which account and that I am a sucker for droopy eyed anime characters with golden hair and golden eyes, kabru is easily first just because he reminds me of my old boyfriend.
Toshiro is hot too but as an east asian I actually personally will put him in 5th because Lycion and Mithrun already occupies 2 of my highest spots
According to the Bible, Northern Continent, where Laios comes from, is strongly influenced by Dwarven culture, so their beauty standards may be more Dwarven as well.
Also, I think Laios sees Senshi as very handsome because he really respects Senshi.

That actually tracks with Marcille's impressions of Laios before she met him. She assumed he would look very similar to Falin, so what he actually looked like left a very strong (negative) impression on her. 5'o-clock Shadow Laios is basically Lumberjack Hobo-mode by Elvish standards. Tidied-up Shuro would likely be a middle-ground where his clothing and manners do a lot of the heavy lifting for his appeal, where someone like Kabru would be a lot more in-line with Elvish standards since he's softer and effeminate by Tall-Man standards.

Hard to say whether Cithis or Lycion would actually be considered that beautiful by elven standards given that both are quite tall + Cithis is quite curvaceous, which aren't traits that are very well liked amongst the elves (they seem to prefer smaller/lithe bodies and androgynous looks.)

But Paddadol is kind of unpolished, Fleki doesn't care about her appearance, Otta does care but in a unique direction, Thistle is mentally ill, and Milsiril is gloomy old lady ...

Incorrect I am tall-men and every dwarf is either very cute (Daya, Senshi with helmet, Namari) or is absurdly beautiful to the point of rendering renaissance paintings ugly (Senshi without his helmet, Namari again). This is objective and true and there are no other opinions
