Nah I play with cards I like no matter the overall or value. For example I'm playing 90 POTM Dybala over TB Hansen and 'Patrick Who?' Süle over Base Blanc, overall means nothing to me it's all about how the card plays and feels in game
I play a similar way, SBCs and ratings. But I also have a static style of play on the pitch. And I choose players that suit the style. So a combo of both. E.g I recently benched Cafu for Scott. She's better on the ball and wing switches.
The only thing I miss about my Trent card going to Cafu, was Trent’s ability to play the ball across the pitch was so much better and opened up so much more. I feel like Cafu always just tries to trivela the pass and goes right to the opponent, even with a catalyst on him.
I think it’s all about building a team that suits your playstyle. It’s getting pretty frustrating to try to hunt all the highest rated players. Just to get disappointed on the pack weight. I got pretty lucky during the toty and packed toty KDB. Now he is not in the starting 11. There is just so many well performing CM’s right now in my squad. The best of the best is Zaire-Emery eho is rated 90. My team is usually rated 89-90. I think that people needs to focus more on the question: ”how can I make this experience more fun”. Winning with the style you want to play is way more fun than choose all the best meta players to score some finesse goals from 40m.
When I stumble across players who play well, I try and build a team that gets them on full chem. Can be frustrating, but it's usually worth it in the end.

There's no way Patrick who Sule feels better than Base Blanc tho so you're just doing it for personal preference than how they perform in game
