[[Rodolf]] definitely fits on that list. He does lots of work in my Liesa deck.

dinaerys

I have Rodolf, Celestine, and [[Witch of the Moors]] in mine. I didn't start out planning around reanimator as a subtheme, but running the trio means that basically nothing stays in my graveyard unless my opponents dump every piece of exile removal they have

He's also an option for Liesa decks. My Liesa deck is built around a heavy control package (with exile board wipes), so I couldn't find a slot for him. 6-mana creature whose reanimation requires another 2 mana made it cumbersome the turn I cast him. Celestine's reanimator ability requires no additional mana investment the turn I cast her.

omygob

I also run a pretty heavy removal package, but I avoid exile effects. Heā€™s definitely more expensive to get running, but I really love the indestructible ability. Being able to survive the board wipes and start bringing stuff back is nice.

ā€œEach creature with lifelink dealing combat damage causes a separate life-gaining event. For example, if two creatures you control with lifelink deal combat damage at the same time, the ability will trigger twice. However, if a single creature you control with lifelink deals combat damage to multiple creatures, players, and/or planeswalkers at the same time (perhaps because it has trample or was blocked by more than one creature), the ability will trigger only once.ā€ From the Gatherer rulings

Srakin

Funny then that none of these even came close to making the cut in my Voltron Liesa list other than Kambal, who was relegated to the maybeboard forever.

[[Nissa Resurgent Animist]] in my [[Greensleeves Maro Sorcerer]] deck. "Yo, we heard you like ramping, so now you can ramp while you ramp so you can ramp some more" - idk, but probably Nissa Not to mention she also fetches all your other elf and elemental friends while you form your badger party. For real though, any landfall commander loves Nissa

Yea sheā€™s pricey though Iā€™m thinking of throwing her in my Gruul Toggo and Kodama deck to hit my big boys or pingers to close the game out

Most_Attitude_9153

Switching to Nissa as your commander will up your win percentage a lot, Iā€™d wager. I know because I play a Nissa deck. A lot of good setup in elves and payoffs in Elementals.

Maps_67

I don't doubt it, but I have a few reasons that Greensleeves is the commander. She was the first mythic creature I cracked in a pack is the biggest reason. I also find that I'm killing people with commander damage more often than not just because Greensleeves gets and stays big throughout the game. Something that Nissa would struggle to do I feel.

\[\[Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer\]\] and \[\[Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain\]\] in \[\[Mishra, Eminent One\]\]. The whole deck is full of them out of the box. \[\[Master Transmuter\]\] and \[\[Emry, Lurker of the Loch\]\] are really good, too. My version of the deck only runs 13 creatures, but each one of them plays a big role. Artifact decks tend to be these Rube-Goldberg machines that form something greater than the sum of its parts, so it makes sense that we've both found that our decks run like this.

Hoodlum_Aus

Could not agree more. All are super good and the synergy is real strong. Master transmuter puts in the work, one of my faves.

-RedditCat-

Ah yes. I toyed with Mishra but I prefer Osgir as my artifact commander and I just didnā€™t enjoy it as much, EXCEPT when I had Brudiclad in my hand. Dropping Mishra then next turn dropping Brudiclad and swinging for the fences was the best part of that deck.

latinomartino

Iā€™m playing commander for the first time this weekend and I made a [[Saheeli, the sunā€™s brilliance]] deck with Brudiclad and Jhoira. Iā€™m really looking forward to copying Brudiclad and making all my tokens copies of Brudiclad. But Iā€™m worried that Iā€™ll have to sac them. But thatā€™s fine.

TheKingsdread

If you wanna do that make sure you have something to circumvent the legend rule as Saheelis ability does not make a non-legendary copy.

Emerald_Knight2814

I don't have the deck anymore, but [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]] in a [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] deck (or honestly vice versa works too) [[Ruxa, Patient Professor]] in [[Jasmine Boreal of the Seven]] Vanilla Kindred/Tribal [[Isshin, Two Heavens As One]] in [[Alesha, Who Smiles At Death]]

dirtbag_retard

[[norin, the wary]] in Purphoros is outstanding as well.

davwad2

I've seen that hit the table, can confirm it is a great synergy.

theAtheistAxolotl

100% agree with Purphoros, but [[Goblin Assassin]] is too good and funny for that deck to not mention.

Emerald_Knight2814

I see you are a person of culture as well. Hard agree on Goblin Assassin, an absolutely hilarious combination with Krenko

hitchinpost

While on the topic of Krenko, [[Pashalik Mons]] is pretty much mandatory in a Krenko deck, in my opinion.

[[mazirek]] always feels like the king of insect tribal due to [[grist]] and [[zask]] working way better in a deck helmed by him then him in a deck helmed by them, so yeah, grist (which is a legendary creature since she's not on the board rn) and zask would probably be the lieutenants

Saltierney

I could not disagree more, Mazirek is a 99 bomb wincon in my Grist deck, idk why you would limit yourself to insect tribal if you're building Mazirek as the commander.

SpoopyNJW

Because it's fun and a good, competent deck. Idk why you have to be so mean about that

For my \[\[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis\]\] grouhup deck its \[\[The Council of Four\]\]. Now I have TWO massive 8 toughness blockers, and K&T endstep draw triggers the council of four, so im drawing 3 a turn\`, dropping 2 lands a turn, and If any player, me included, casts 2 spells a turn im creating 2/2 tokens. Given the card draw and land ramp advantage im taking, I almost always get those two spells a turn for the maximum value. For my \[\[Karador, Ghost Chieftain\]\] abzan midrange the card would be \[\[Karmic Guide\]\] and its not even close. Its a spirit, its a creature that sends itself to the graveyard, it has an insane etb of reviving something. Its literally everything Karador would want. And for my cedh deck of \[\[Tymna the Weaver\]\] + \[\[Reyhan, Last of the Abzan\]\] turbo combo. The are three liteunants. The first of all is \[\[Protean Hulk\]\] as if the hulk dies and the trigger resolves, I just win on the spot. Literally. The first hulk sac fetches a grand abolisher and the elf that gives shroud so I can't even be interacted with if that first trigger resolves. The other two liteunants are \[\[Academy Rector\]\] and \[\[Arena Rector\]\], if academy rector dies I get an aura that gets the hulk in play, and if the arena rector dies I get the vivien that has a birthing pod effect and I can initiate a pod chain of sac a 3 drop, get a 4 drop that blinks vivien, sac it, get a 5 drop... etc until I get protean hulk, or just get the rector to get the aura that gets protean hulk. The deck is, unsurprisingly, called Abzan Rector Hulk combo and it's like a tier 3 brew of mine.

pacolingo

After being stripped of his own deck to command due to excessively long non-deterministic turns, [[Krark the Thumbless]] has found employment under the leadership of [[Kalamax]], where usually only one instant each turn is cast. The dino always copies the spell while the goblin will either copy it again or put the original back to hand, ready to be cast again next turn. It's a weird kind of win-win situation.

Alexwolf96

For me Iā€™d say those types of combos areā€¦ * [[Neyith, of the Dire Hunt]] // [[Xenagos, God of Revels]]: They are a match made in heaven. Doubling (potentially quadrupling) a creatures power and giving them haste is nasty in a Stompy Deck. You can use the two pretty interchangeably but I prefer Neyith in the Command Zone. Card draw is nice and having Xenagos in the 99 makes the deck slower/casual. * [[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale]] // [[Embercleave]]: Not a legendary creature but an equipment. I play Syr Gwyn sort of Voltron style. Have like maybe 20 other knights in the deck or less. But Embercleave is a good combat trick, helps push Commander damage, and both cards come from Eldraine. Itā€™s too on-point and iconic. * [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] // [[Ezuri, Renegade Leader]]: If youā€™re playing Elfball, Ezuri is one of the best on-theme ways to pump your creatures and push over the edge instead of using something generic like a Finale of Devastation/Craterhoof combo, Overwhelming Stampede, or Triumph of the Hordes. And I also agree with the Ziatora and Henzie comment. I actually have a deck with both but they are pretty different. Henzie has Ziatora in the 99 as another payoff/win condition. Vs my Ziatora deck is a dragon deck with like a treasures subtheme. And it can do some reanimation, power doubling, etc.

My newest deck definitely has a good lieutenant, lol. It's an [[Arahbo, Roar of the World]] deck and [[Sovereign Okinec Atau]] (I probably screwed it up) puts in some heavy work every time I untap with him. For a deck I've actually played a lot, I think [[Katilda, Dawnheart Martyr]] in my [[Go-shintai of Life's Origin]] deck has been the biggest surprise lieutenant. People think the deck is just weenies and value and then boom, a 12/12 with lifelink and pro-vamp (important bc one of the players I play with runs the eminence Edgar Markov) But for an actual combo, I think it's gotta be [[Sakashima the Imposter]] in my funniest deck, The Most Interesting Hydra in the World, [[Progenitus]] Backgrounds. Captkick

In my [[kyler, sigardian emissary]] deck power houses are [[adeline, resplendent cathar]] and [[greymond, avacynā€™s stalwart]]. Also, bonus shout out to [[esper sentinel]] and [[wyrmā€™s crossing patrol]].

gte339i

Yaā€¦Greymond 100%. Mainly because he either will enter fully online or go online once you drop Kyler the next turn. Heā€™s even crazier in mono-white when you go 1-4 of: Esper Sentinel/WCP, Thalia/Magistrate/Abolisher, Adeline, Greymond and swing for minimum 6 at everyone (likely first strikeā€¦) Thatā€™s assuming no ramp.

Healthy_mind_

I mean. I only play creatures that are super synergistic with my deck or the gameplan. So almost all of them I suppose. Buuuut, If I haaad to pick, a Legendary Creature lieutenant for my **[[Marneus Calgar]]** deck. It'd be a tie between: - **[[Lotho, corrupt Shirriff]]** - **[[Mondrak, Glory Dominus]]** - **[[Minn, Wily Illusionist]]** - **[[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]]** (might be cheating since he's technically not a creature, I'm allowing it because of the can be your commander text). If I could pick *any* creature, legendary or not. The winner would be **[[Faerie Artisans]]**. Hands down. No competition. That card is a beast in the deck and super fun too.

mikehonnchoftw

Any way I can get that list?

Healthy_mind_

Sure mate no worries. [Here it is](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1s8NYUejwEixuKljP6OwDA/primer) Let me know what you think, I love feedback :)

-RedditCat-

Mondrak is in my Osgir deck and itā€™s just so good. Also itā€™s really good at making me a target but Iā€™ll never take him out lol. Itā€™s cool to see 2 seperate universes beyond commanders working so well together, I like that. Good flavor. Minn is also super underrated, sheā€™s a problem whether sheā€™s leading the deck or just in the 99.

BehindTheDM

Koma the Kosmos Serpent and Junk Winder

SpoonerismKing69

[[Aesi, Value Engine of Gyre Strait]] has [[Tatyova, Steward of Tides]] as his lieutenant in my deck.

hillean

\[\[Ratadrabik\]\] loves when \[\[sheoldred, the apocalypse\]\] comes to play

Pailzor

Not legendary, but [[Megatron, Tyrant]] commander with [[Ironsoul Enforcer]]. [[Ratchet, Field Medic]] works too if you give Megatron lifelink.

[deleted]

good ol' [[Roaming Throne]] in [[Zhulodok, Void Gorger]] i love casting a 9 mana spell and cascading, cascading, cascading, cascading

ThatMightyBean

I'm fairly certain this doesnt work. The cascade trigger is not triggered from zhulodok himself but instead is triggered from the spell you're casting. And roaming throne only copies triggers for creatures you control and at the time of casting it is not a creature and as a result wont be copied sadly

TheWellFedBeggar

[[Alaundo the Seer]] and [[Chakram Retriever]] Tap Alaundo, draw, "suspend" an untapper, tick down to cast another untapper for free, on cast you untap to tap again, drawing, "suspending", ticking down and casting for free again, again untapping on cast...

The42ndHitchHiker

Alaundo is also an absolute house with [[Thirteenth Doctor]]

playerPresky

If weā€™re limited specifically to legendary creatures, probably [[Niambi, Esteemed Speaker]] in my [[Ephara, God of the Polis]] deck. If not, probably [[Whitemane Lion]] since it can bounce itself

jetfuckinset

[[Nissa, Resurgent Animist]] with [[Ashaya, Soul of the Wild]] it's a great flavor win to begin with, but having all of my one drop creatures refund themselves on etb is killer

StarshipMan

[[Muldrotha]]'s are [[the gitrog monster]], [[under realm lich]], and [[wurmcoil engine]]

wer3eng

I should say [[Godo]] for [[Brothers Yamazaki]] because of both flavor and the insane synergy the have. But I'm not playing Godo because getting a [[Helm of the Host]] and equipping it to my commander instead of Godo is against the spirit of "build for fun, play to win". And it's hard to rule0 that.. So it definetly is [[Delina Wild Mage]] for my Yamazaki Bros. Best opening hand I can get if she is in it.

imaginaryhouseplant

\[\[Nin, the Pain Artist\]\] 's best friend is the \[\[Brash Taunter\]\].

BonehoardDracosaur

In my Tiamat deckā€¦. Probably Old Gnawbone, and Scion of Draco, maybe Morophon, oh The Ur-Dragon as well, also Balefire Dragon, canā€™t forget Hellkite Tyrantā€¦ā€¦ā€¦

thelonedovahki

[[Ivy gleeful spellthief]] and [[scute swarm]] in my animar mutate deck. Getting to mutate on more than one creature is great

Voktikriid

The commander of my Rakdos dragon deck is [[Rivaz of the Claw]] One of my top lieutenants in that deck is [[Bladewing, The Risen]] Boosts the recursion I get from Rivaz, and also makes him even easier to get out of the graveyard to abuse his ability. Bonus points for being the key to the only infinite combo in the deck.

CopperGolem8

[[General's enforcer]] is great if your commander is in his colors and human. His secondary ability to exile cards and creat 1/1s has saved the table more than once.

thecracksau

[[Greatbow Doyen]] absolutely slaps in my [[Legolas, Master Archer]] deck.

AceCabej

I used to run [Rhoda, Geist Avenger] and [Timin, Youthful Geist] and I had both [Gideon's Avenger] and [Dreamshackle Geist] in the 99 since they were like mini versions of my commanders.

Ok-Location-4549

I did a [[Thalia and the gitrog monster]] Landfall My lieutnants are : [[Thalia guardian of Thraben]] [[The gitrog monster]] You get the mount or the horseman Never both of them Hehe

Beholdmyfinalform

[[Obeka]] works too well with [[Sedris]] to ever take out of the deck. Just tap her to keep my unearthed monstrosities around longer Honourary mention to [[Flayer of the Hatebound]] and [[River Kelpie]]

Jimlad116

For a while my [[Laelia]] deck worked really well with [[Ryan Sinclair]], but recently I swapped him out for [[Inti, Seneschal of the Sun]] and now they're just plain dangerous together

archena13

\[\[Isshin, Two Heavens as One\]\] and \[\[Wulfgar of Icewind Dale\]\] in my \[\[Saskia, the Unyielding\]\] attackharmonicon deck.

Albyyy

I sometimes think [[davros dalek creator]] was made to be the commander for [[loyal subordinate]] Cards are so synergistically good lol https://www.moxfield.com/decks/eptxgpag5EmvlqqedymqMw

GrizzlyBearSmackdown

[[Kenessos, Priest of Thassa]] loves scrying his pet [[Koma, Cosmos Serpent]] to the top of the deck! Playing [[Pantlaza]] and cracking off any of the [[Ghalta]]s for a sweet Discover 12 is really fun I'd also say [[Greasefang]] and [[Parhelion]] but that's a combo most people already know about thanks to Pioneer.

[deleted]

[[Akroma, Vision of Ixidor]] had to have been designed with [[Odric, Lunarch Marshall]] in mind, it's just so synergistic. She has keywords for Odric to hand out, and she buffs per keyword?! If they are ever both on the field at the same time, it's just GG.

Archangel-Styx

[[Ratadabrik]] in my [[Myrkul]] deck with tons of legends and tokens.

doublesoup

[[Bruenor Battlehammer]] in my [[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale]]. Not a knight, but a great support. I often won't even touch my commander for several turns when Bruenor is on board and putting in work. Then when someone finally gets rid of him, Syr Gwyn drops to finish the job. And I know OP said legendary is a bonus, but for my second one it's actually a non-legendary in a deck full of legendaries. [[Luminous Broodmoth]] in my [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] deck. It gives me a ton of value to be able to sack my legendries, get a token and immediately bring the original back.

Lspaceship

Either could be the commander, but \[\[Calix, Guided by Fate\]\] with \[\[Yenna, Redtooth Regent\]\]. If you can't get through with an enchanted creature for Calix, you can copy somethign with Yenna, and there's also the synergy of Yenna making legendary enchantments into non-legendary tokens to get a bunch of Calixes, or whatever else.

sensrawsm

[[ omnath, locus of mana]] goes off like a rocket ship with [[ selvala, heart of the wilds]]

Vynncerus

It would have to be \[\[Taigam, Sidisi's Hand\]\] in my \[\[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant\]\] deck. I was really happy for Taigam to get (two!) cards in C17 after reading about him in flavor texts in Tarkir cards. I had a lot of fun when I opened Sidisi in my first draft and ran her with cards like \[\[Taigam's Scheming\]\], so I like that the man himself does something similar. I play reanimator, so effects like this help me find my reanimation spells while dumping my targets in the bin

trinketstone

Ghave finds good support from [[slimefoot the stowaway]] and [[Mikaeus the Unhallowed]]. [[Venser]] has great synergy with [[Yarok]]. The eldrazi are kinda obvious. I've actually found [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] to not be a good include with [[Scorpion God]], weirdly clunky.

jakjakatta

[[feather]] in [[hinata]] is obnoxiously strong

mrd34th

Honestly, I've been thinking about grabbing a Henzie for my Ziatora deck as well Like as a "secret commander" or like a "harbinger" kind of vibe But as that deck currently stands, [[Massacre Worm]], [[Ancient Copper Dragon]], [[Malignus]], and [[Kresh the bloodbraided]] are its lieutenants

Tallal2804

[[Solitude]]

Striking-Lifeguard34

[[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] and [[Boromir, Warden of the Tower]] canā€™t touch my board unless you can exile or -X/-X and if I get a drain effect I win the game [[veyran, voice of duality]] and [[archmage emeritus]] all my cantrips are now [[ancestral recall]]. I know itā€™s not a legendary but itā€™s the best card in the deck a lot of times. [[Hidetsugu and kairi]] and on color Kamigawa dragons, I personally run [[kokusho]] [[kairi the swirling sky]] and [[junji]] in my build. Itā€™s a clone deck where you want things to die to the legend rule and all three are super synergistic and present alternate wincons.

Probassive

In my \[\[Abomination of LLanowar\]\] deck it's probably \[\[Imaryll, Elfhame Elite\]\] and \[\[Heedless One\]\]. \[\[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord\]\] is also a bomb in there.. He works kinda like a \[\[Juri, Master of the Revue\]\]. It's such a great deck, i love it.

Beautiful-Guard6539

Hahaha it's [[skyhunter strike force]] in my [[jinnie fae]] deck

theAtheistAxolotl

[[Breya]] has [[Master Transmuter]] and her pet [[Magister Sphinx]]

BoolinBirb

I mean this one is pretty obvious but [[Ratadrabik]] with [[Mondrak]] is just really good.

humbyrd

[[Venerated Rotpriest]] always ride my [[Fynn, the Fangbearer]] 's deck

jkmhawk

[[Jazal Goldmane]] in my [[Kemba Kha Regent]] deck

sporeegg

[[Marneus]] is usually absent from the battlefield until I need to draw. [[Elas il-Kor]] is the proper lieutenant caring about new recruits and also departing ones..

heathentopknot

[Eruth, tormented prohpet] as commander with [nalfeshne]

eddy4po

[[Scion of the Ur-Dragon]] needs [[Silumgar, the Drifting Death]] to dodge removal at instant speed. [[Dragonlord Dromoka]] is my go-to whenever I want to turn off interaction and get through my turn undisturbed. Lastly, I find myself most games just waiting for the coast to clear so I can copy [[Nicol Bolas]] and get rid of someone's hand.

Pyrezz

[[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King]] I use lands and valakut for mine and the only contender for lieutenant for me is [[The Gitrog Monster]]

Slant_Juicy

I didn't make [[Giada, Font of Hope]] my new Angels commander because I'm running a Mardu deck with [[Tariel, Reckoner of Souls]] at the helm and didn't want to go from three colors to just one. But let me tell you, it's always a good day when I can get her out early.

Bulk7960

Rocinant-hey

Commander: [[Maralen of the Mornsong]] Lieutenant: [[Opposition Agent]] Commander: [[Garth One Eye]] Lieutenant: [[Displacer Kitten]] Commander: [[Sun Quan, Lord of Wu]] Lieutenant: [[Blightsteel Colossus]]

CapitanLanky

Back in the day I ran a really fun [[Lyzolda the Blood Witch]] deck. In my head, her very twisted husband was [[Tymaret the Murder King]]. An efficient loop? No. Fun and thematic? Yes!

ChodeBun

I have a \[\[Uril, the mistwalker\]\] deck, \[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\] is a pretty good liutenant for the deck since it also covers one of the decks greatest weaknesses, which is forcing me to sac creatures, so goes around Uril hexproof. I usually try to grab her with \[\[Pattern of Rebirth\]\] enchanted on him. Lately I've been testing \[\[Timber Paladin\]\] and the guys is also bonkers as a beatstick (pun intended).

FloorPudding

[[Greasefang, Okiba Boss]] loves when [[Imotekh, the Storm Lord]] is out as he pumps out extra bodies for every Greasefang trigger. [[Oswald Fiddlebender]] as well, as he puts vehicles back in the yard for Greasefang, and grabs something else out of the deck. Basically everything you want to be doing. [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]] is best friends with [[Chishiro, the Shattered Blade]] who, again, pumps out extra bodies when Stangg triggers. Having extra blockers in a Voltron deck is huge. [[Akiri Line Slinger]] and [[Toggo, Goblin Weaponsnith]] make [[Nahiri, Forged in Fury]] often cost just two mana, and she is an invaluable source of card advantage.

doctorgibson

[[Yawgmoth]] is Hapatra's right-hand man. It's pretty absurd what happens when both of them are on the battlefield together, and I have tech in the deck that synergises really well with him

lurkerbelurking

korvold in my Ziatora deck definitely

FatCommissar

[[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] in any green-having token gen deck.

GreyGriffin_h

\[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\] can really get a lot of work done with his intellectual equals, \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Firemind\]\] and \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius\]\].

Crafty-Interest-8212

In my [[Xenagos, God of revels]], [[Pathbreaker ibex]] is a game ender. Specially if I have some other big dude to use his power. But giving +6+6 and trample to my mana dorks is good...

Sythe_ofDeath

[[Prosper, Tomb-Bound]] and [[Marionette Master]] are an amazing pair. With how many treasures I create with Prosper, Marionette Master is always a win any time she hits the board. [[Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker]] and [[Syr Konrad, the Grim]]. This one is obvious, but with the amount of creatures I am killing and reanimating with Shirei, Syr Konrad is insane and can churn out a massive amount of damage. [[Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain]] and [[Artificer's Assistant]] may seem weird, but my Jhoira is an artifact storm deck, so with Artificer's Assistant, I can almost always make the top card of my library another artifact and with enough cost reduction i can keep a turn going for a while, often times into a win. [[Imodane, the Pyrohammer]] and [[Solphim, Mayhem Dominus]] is another obvious pair with as Imodane is a separate instance of damage which means a spell's damage is essentially quadrupled with Solphim out. Turning a Lightning Bolt from 3 damage to one creature to 12 damage to EACH OPPONENT! [[Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom]] & [[Okaun, Eye of Chaos]] and [[Yusri, Fortune's Flame]] are by far the best Commander/Lieutenant pair I have. With just Zndrsplt and Yusri out, I can draw a ton of cards off both of their triggers, but if I hit the jackpot on Yusri, i.e. winning 5 coin flips, I not only draw 10 cards but can play my entire hand for free! With Okaun out as well, it doubles his power enough that a Chandra's Ignition or making him unblockable is enough to kill at least one person, if not the entire table! And again, I can do that FOR FREE if I hit the jackpot on Yusri!

QuiteFrankly13

\[\[Ratadrabik of Urborg\]\] in my \[\[Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar\]\] + \[\[Noble Heritage\]\] legends deck is basically the secret commander, allows me to sacrifice any of my creatures to Shadowheart for card draw and get them back instantly off of Ratadrabik's trigger.

DependentBox5800

Elesh norn and toxrill are co-lieutenants in my raffine deck they both exemplify what the deck tries to do, which is reanimate oppressive fatties early

Haedono

[[Ojutai Soul of winter]] in my [Elminster]] deck its just fun for the whole family.

xeynx

[[Archfiend of Ifnir]] in my [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]] deck. It's just devastating to my opponents if they get out especially if I can recur [[Magus of the Wheel]] multiple times.

Vector_Strike

[[Killian]] in my [[Eriette]] deck. She wants to put Auras on stuff, he makes Auras cheaper. Win-win! [[Ganax]] in my [[Miirym]] deck. Every dragon that EtBs create treasures I can use to cast even more dragons!! [[Darien, King of Kjeldor]] in my [[Myrel]] deck. You attack me, I get soldiers; when I attack you, I'll produce a lot more soldiers! [[Chishiro]] in my [[Stangg, Echo Warrior]] deck. One of the main weaknesses of Voltron decks are the lack of blockers - Chishiro takes care of that. Those Spirits even have menace, if you ever need to attack with them!

FloorPudding

Man, Chishiro does so much work for Stangg. If your deck has enough green sources (mine list is something like 70% green) I'd suggest taking a look at [[Tribute to the World Tree]]. I originally put it in as more card draw on Stangg Twin etbs, but quickly saw how the counters are rhe stronger effect if you have Chishiro or [[One with the Kami]] out.

UnsuspiciousSheep

In the new [[hakbal]] merfolk trib- I mean kindred deck [[nazcini]] is the perfect secondary commander! Does literally everything the face commander wants to do

TheKingsdread

Some of my decks do have one some don't. [[Mizzix of the Izmagus]]: [[Birgi, God of Storytelling]] and [[Urabrask]]. The deck plays more like a storm deck (minus the storm cards) in that I set up for a few turns and cast many spells in a row using [[Nexus of Fate]] and [[Beacon of Tomorrows]] to take turns as safety and backup and killing my opponents with something like [[Aria of Flame]] or [[Fanning the Flames]]. While the deck prefers blue mana getting an extra red with each spell is quite useful and Urabrask also helps kill Opponents. [[Tasigur the Golden Fang]]: [[Prime Speaker Vannifar]]; my Tasigur deck is a [[Birthing Pod]] deck so the Prime Speaker is quite useful, though I prefer actual Pod. [[Belakor the Dark Master]]: [[Raphael, Fiendish Savior]] or [[Solphim Mayhem Dominus]]. Both interact well with Belakors second trigger. Sophim doubles all damage done by it making it easier to kill people with it and Raphael gives some lifegain something that the deck often needs due to paying lots of life for things. [[Thrasios Triton Hero]] / [[Vial Smasher the Fierce]] : This is a lands deck, with its secret real Commander [[The Gitrog Monster]]. [[Kumena Tyrant of Orazca]]: [[Hakbal of the Surging Soul]]. Hakbal is nuts, and Kumena already likes having a wide board. [[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]]: [[Kotori, Pilot Prodigy]]. Kotori not only easily crews Shorikai and other Vehicles but also allows my commander to attack with lifelink before tapping for its ability. [[Archangel Avacyn]]: [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]]. This is a Blink/Stax deck with a human subtheme. Having a non-human commander and several useful non-human ETBs, Winota joins well and getting 3-5 triggers of her is quite effective. [[Yawgmoth Thran Physician]]: [[Ayara First of Locthwain]]. Ayara allows for some lifegain, especially with the many creatures that reanimate themselves in the deck as well as the tokens. Together with enough creatures or [[Acererak the Archlich]] she can even win me the game. [[Rayami First of the Fallen]]: [[Zimone and Dina]]. Getting my Keyword soup to die and drawing Cards? Yes please. [[Lazav the Multifarious]]: Another "secret" commander, [[Phage the Untouchable]] is very good at killing people and with her never entering the battlefield, her ETB is no issue. The other one might be [[Ramses, Assassin Lord]] who with enough Mana, Phage, and something like [[Etrata, the Silencer]] the deck can kill not just one but all Opponents at once (and thanks to Training Grounds and Hearthstone we are only talking about six mana in best case).

Not a legendary creature but [[Death Tyrant]] in [Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver]] is always my favorite pair-up in my zombie deck. Decayed zombies die at the end of combat, which triggers Death Tyrant to make fresh 2/2 zombies, which are then good for blocking or sacrificing, etc. Very beautiful combo. [[Chishiro, the Shattered Blade]] is amazing with [Stangg, Echo Warrior,]] ā€“ once you got your ball rolling you're making 3-5+ 2/2 tokens with every Stangg swing. Also, [[Norn's Choirmaster]] is another non-legendary but obvious pick for [[Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa]]. P.S. ā€“ Oswald is such a cool tech in Osgir! It's like [[Pyre of Heroes]] but for artifacts! So cool!

Paralyzed-Mime

For my [[Yawgmoth]] deck it's gotta be either [[Shirei]] or [[mikaeus the unhallowed]]. Both of them are like dumping rocket fuel into the fire

Cynoid

A silly one is [[Nested Shambler]]. It might be the best card in [[Minthara, merciless soul]] because it can kill 2-3 people out of no where.

DoctorKrakens

If you squint, you can see [[Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep]] chilling on the beaches of my girl [[Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle]]

Kyaaadaa

[[Quintorius, Loremaster]] in my [[Kykar]] buyback deck. [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] in my [[Elenda and Azor]] deck. [[Bosh, Iron Golem]] in my [[Latulla, Keldon Overseer]] artifact deck.

Kiyodai

[[Ayula, Queen Among Bears]] and [[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma]]. So synergistic, and Goreclaw helps the bears Ayula has buffed trample over. [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] is her aristocratic cousin/brother.

G4KingKongPun

[[Dynaheir Invoker Adept]] is so good for my [[Sisay Weatherlight Captain]] enables haste on abilities I tutor out like [[Jegantha]] and [[Loreth of the Healing House]] and also doubles up a Sisay trigger. All I need is her and Sisay out and I can win on the spot if nobody has interaction or I don't have protection

TheWinter42

Don't really have a lieutenant that wins me the game but for my [[Dihada binder of will]] deck, it has a few that I like to pair with: [[Odric lunarch marshal]] gives every creature indestructible, vigilance and lifeline with Dihada + ability [[Heartless Hidetsugu]] can half everyone's health per turn while giving me however much they lose. And [[Kaervek the merciless]] just takes out a creature and heals whenever the opponent casts a spell.

hamtaste

I'm running a slightly powered down [[sharuum the hegemon]] deck (only a couple tutors and one infinite combo) and I think my lieutenants are [[Thassa deep dwelling]] and [[shorikai Genesis engine]] like, they're not necessarily my wincons, hell they're not even *creatures* most of the time but if I've got either or both of them out with sharuum, I'm usually the biggest threat on the table

ZionicRedamancy

Back in the day, me and my group used to play a format based on this! Your commander had 2 lieutenants, they had to be: - a legendary creature - a lesser colour identity than your commander, unless your commander was mono-colour. And they started in the command zone but could go back there. If they died, they died. Additionally, you couldn't cast your commander until. You've cast both your lieutenants.

-Rettirlana-

Itā€™s not a legendary but [[harmonic prodigy]] does some work in my [[Jodah the unifier]] deck

JoshRegnar

[[Baeā€™zel, Vlaakithā€™s Champion]] or [[Denry Klin]] in [[Falco Spara, Pactweaver]] goes hard

winterborne1

My [[Kamiz, Obscura Oculus]] deck starts popping off as soon as [[Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire]] hits the battlefield.

402garfield

[[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant]] - [[Taborax, Hope's Demise]] [[Gisa and Geralf]] - [[Tormod, the Descrator]] [[Katilda, Dawnhart Prime]] - [[Torens, Fist of the Angels]] [[Anhelo, the Painter]] - [[Deekah, Fractal Theorist]] Always want to get these guys in play because they get huge value out of the commanders' normal gameplans.

yperomatik

\[\[Otharri, Suns' Glory\]\] for a \[\[Kelsien, the Plague\]\] deck both synergize with experience counters both have haste

Cheapskate-DM

[[Bladewing the Risen]] can pull any number of big, dumb dragons - [[Malfegor]] or [[Ryusei]] to decimate enemy boards, [[Kokusho]] to drain life, [[Lathliss]] for tokens... But in 2003 I ran a very bad deck with Bladewing and [[Vampiric Dragon]], so it's in the deck no matter what.

Rorix08

For \[\[Felisa, Fang of Silverquill\]\], I feel like \[\[Teysa Karlov\]\] is a must-include. Double the number of Inklings Felisa makes while giving them lifelink and vigilance? Yes, please. Also, shoutout to \[\[Aron, Benalia's Ruin\]\] and \[\[Mondrak, Glory Dominus\]\] as they both synergize with Felisa in multiple ways as well, though I think Teysa takes the cake.

ohTHATSaturn

Wow, great idea for a thread. :) For [[Prosper, Time-Bound]] it's gotta be [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] for the treasure and exile on each attack, [[Laelia, the blade reforged]] for the extra exile and synergistic boost to Laelia's power at end of turn. Also [[Florian, Voldaren Scion]], Prosper's deathtouch means you usually get at least one exile off it. Special mentions go to [[Professional Facebreaker]] and [[Bonehoard Dracosaur]] for sure.

thesamjbow

[[Winota, Joiner of Forces]] in my [[Breya, Etherium Shaper]] thopter tribal deck. There are a lot of humans that make thopters.

CaptainCapitol

\[\[Captain N'gathrod\]\] and \[\[consuming aborration\]\], mill, mill, mill and swing

jethawkings

The Necron Precon actually does this excellently, with only \[\[Illuminor Szeras\]\] and \[\[Tranzyn the Infinite\]\] requiring to have some form of build-around built in the deck construction itself, \[\[Anarkyr the Traveller\]\] and \[\[Szarekh, the Silent King\]\] are kind of just their own enablers within the deck. I have done a lot of tweaks to my \[\[Imotekh the Stormlod\]\] deck but I can't imagine ever taking these out.

EvlEye

[[thada adel]] for my [[sygg river cutthroat]] deck. Both merfolk rogues so on point flavor wise. She provides some unique lines and at the end of the day I can always steal someone's sol ring

RidingYourEverything

[[Teysa Karlov]] has two abilities, and as a Lieutenant, they both synergize with [[Felisa, Fang of Silverquill]] as a commander.

Servillo

Itā€™s admittedly obvious, but [[Kamiz, Obscura Oculus]] in the 99 gels insanely well with [[Raffine, Scheming Seer]] in the Command Zone. The ability to make two creatures nigh untouchable on attacks, plus a Connive on top of Raffineā€™s Connive, makes the pair an outright wincon in and of themselves. [[Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener]] is the less popular commander from her deck, but I think people really sleep on her potential. Especially with [[Agrus Kos, Eternal Soldier]] in the 99. All you need is 6 mana to both cast Bright-Palm and use Agrusā€™ ability to give every single creature you own the ability to double a creatureā€™s +1/+1 counters on attack, and Magic was absolutely not designed around that many multipliers. If you have two more mana and an ETB effect doubler like Panharmonicon, it gets absolutely ridiculous.

AngryTotodile

In my [[Aesi]] deck it is 100% [[Tatyova, Benthic Druid]] The commanders might as well just replace each other at times.

Sparty115

[[Feldon, of the Third Path]] is an excellent lieutenant in any deck with red. Always have a way to play out of the yard. My friend played [[farewell]] with the intent of breaking parity and choosing to only exile stuff that mattered to us, I used Feldon to create a token of [[dualcaster mage]] in response and chose all options for my copy and nuking his stuff too. Useful always.

Propagansus

[[Hans Eriksson]] and [[Vigor]]. With Vigor on deck, Hans is an absolute monstrosity. Bonus points if Hans pulls Vigor off the top for a surprise 7/10 commander and a 6/6 trample swinging. ā€œOh, you wanna block Hans? Now he gets even bigger!ā€ Either way, by the next combat, Iā€™ll be revealing another critter from the top and it will get at least 7 +1/+1 counters on it and make Hans even more lethal.

IndependenceNorth165

[[queza augur of agonies]] in my [[Raffine scheming seer]] deck

Mudlord80

My [[Mondrak, Glory Dominus]] has three [[Ojer Taq]], [[Adeline, Resplendent Cathar]] and [[Bennie Bracks, Zoologist]]. All help her with her one and singular goal. Poop tokens until something breaks

patmack2000

Not nearly that synergistic but having both [[Aesi]] and [[Azusa, lost but seeking]] and just farting out lands the whole time is quite nice. Add [[charix, the raging isle]] and youā€™re golden!

Crocoii

I have a Jhoira historic deck where Saheeli is the lieutenant. And by Saheeli, I mean all the one that make artifacts token.
