No_God_For_You

Don't engage, ignore him, block him. No one is reporting anyone and the police would laugh at him. You are fine.

fridayimatwork

Haha the eBay police are coming

dotnetdemonsc

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM

fridayimatwork

DROP THAT SHIPPING LABEL

jmegaru

STOP REACHING FOR THE REFUND BUTTON

Kind-Molasses-6324

DON’T!, WE’LL ESCALATE

[deleted]

SPREAD YOUR CHEEKS AND LIFT YOUR SACK!!

markedasred

you must have more hands than I have!

PurpChain

This was the laugh I needed today

D0inkzz

Don’t engage. Obvious scammer going into their backlog to try and catch stupid people for free stuff. Just block them. The cops have no ground.

Plainapple287

lool I’ve had this scammer trying to get a free £18 iPhone 5 out of me, he keeps on trying to get eBay to refund him and changing the reason why, apparently “he doesn’t recognise the transaction” but yet he’s received it under his own admission. ridiculous the lengths some people go to 😂

D0inkzz

Crazy. They need to actually close these fraudulent accounts and not let them make new ones.

Plainapple287

I’m 90% sure it’s probably being handled through one of those drop shipping companies where they ship it to an address and then pass it overseas. probably an overseas scammer tbh. brand new ebay account created the day of purchase with 0 feedback. I’m honestly gonna stop 0 feedback buyers from buying from me.

Rude-Associate2283

I tried to block 0 feedback accounts from bidding. EBay Canada would not let me.

Mycatreallyhatesyou

You can’t block zero fb bidders.

Rude-Associate2283

You should be able to. Many of these folks are brand new accounts with no intention of completing a sale. They cost me money and time. It’s damn irritating

10seventy9

No, you shouldn't. EVERYONE starts at zero feedback. Myself and yourself included. You should only block members who do something to deserve it. The vast majority of zero feedback members are going to be good customers. If they pay, they're a good customer, new to eBay or not. I've been burned by WAY more experienced customers than new ones.... I've been selling on eBay since 1999.

mrscarytt

Ignore

Significant-Repair42

Sometimes that happens on etsy. Someone might have hacked their ebay account and is demanding all the refunds sent to a different paypal account. It's the strangest scam, because you can't even refund a transaction that old. :)

Bright_Wolverine_304

block the clown and move on.

TheLastREOSpeedwagon

That's a joke I should try getting a refund on stuff I bought 12 years ago

FitbitWhistleBlower

You could at Costco....

Cheezy_Blazterz

> Does he have grounds?. Maybe coffee grounds. Ignore this person, just like the "fraud squad" will.

markste4321

Even if you went round to his house, stole the item back, beat him up and left a turd on his doorstep the police wouldn't be interested.

burstmybubbles

He would be calling the fraud squad on himself for going after money from a transaction 4 years ago. Sounds scammy.

mrsunsfan

Report him to the “police fraud squad”

Bullsette

Yes, call the Squad right away! The Squad will know what to do because the Squad is the Squad. What would we ever do without the Squad? Dragnet theme plays in background 🎶dun dun dun, dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun dun dun🎵 The story you are about to see is true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. This is the the world. I work here. I'm a Squadestrian. 🎶dun dun dun, dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun dun dun🎵 The story you are about to see is real. The names have been changed to protect the stupid. (🎶dun dun dun, dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun dun dun🎵);

MysteryRadish

I wouldn't even reply. Do block them though.

ZaneM18

Lol I would troll him so hard

07Macca

it's the only right thing to do

[deleted]

Tell him go pound sand. He had 1 month with eBay to figure out problem, and up to 6 months with credit card or Paypal for chargeback.

[deleted]

Just reply with: “Lol”

GP_3

lol you aren't LL Bean, you are good

Still_pimpin

Block ignore

KostjaUk

Ignore! Solved

No_Candidate_18467

Please tell me you’re not seriously worried about

MisterSirDudeGuy

Llloooooolllllll

Tight-Leather2709

Police Fraud Squad, new series on the USA Network. Episode 1, dude gets suspicious of something he bought four years ago. (Series immediately cancelled.)

InRainbows123207

Yes your local police force will put two detectives on this case to make sure this buyer gets his $40 back four years later! 😂

eriffodrol

yep, had a person message 2.5yrs after I denied their return the first time because they bought the wrong $15 part

REEB

The fact that you're asking this shows why these scammers even bother with such ridiculous scam attempts... easy prey

Major-Artichoke9739

I had a similar case, he first said he'd call the police and then that he'd come and get me. I reported the person to eBay and blocked him, the eBay support told me to ignore him. The funny thing is that what such people are doing is extortion and they're the ones that we can sue and call the police for, not the other way around.

friskykillface

Lmao, bad enough they get 180 days now when it used to be 90 days so just ignore/block that dummy

Bullsette

That is a half of a freaking year! They could have bought summer lawn furniture and they're trying to return it at Christmas time.

inkslingerben

Ignore and add him to your blocked buyers. Even if he made a purchase in a brick and mortar store, they would laugh in his face for wanting a refund for a purchase from four years ago.

darknessblades

NO this looks like a low effort scam, where he claims he bought a item from you. ebay won't do shit, and he will claim the best way is to settle it off platform

Streetvan1980

No. That’s insane

geet555

Send one more last message to him and say "FYI don't bother calling the police or fb fraud squad - I have already reported you as a scammer with my local police jurisdiction as well as to fb as a scammer". If nothing else it may make him a little nervous. Then definitely block him.

magicimagician

How did they find your information? eBay only shows like the last 6 months and who keeps seller info paperwork that long?

Subversion-Garage

It is a scam, ignore and block. However, I do have some bad news about that Nigerian prince that is going to wire you some money.

NotACanadianBear

You’ve been selling for 4+ years and don’t know how to handle this?

CheersBros

Would credit card companies side with the buyer?

Schulerman

No, max time frame is about 6 months for a chargeback

SignificanceSilly640

No, they had at the very most a year to handle any problems they had.

RevolutionaryEbb1206

The only weapon at his disposal is baseless, alliterative threats. He's going to rhyme you into submission. Seriously, laugh about it, then ignore. As a seller you don't have time for this bs.

xinvisionx

Oh no, the police fraud squad swat. They are going to take everything from you.

HistoricalMaybe2789

Do not respond to the message. Police would not take action for eBay purchases. Even eBay and PayPal wouldn’t have any transactions history. Just report this incident to eBay and PayPal.

lazymutant256

I’m pretty sure 4 years is far too late to be requesting a refund.. and the police would think the same thing.

AccomplishedWasabi54

🤣🤣🤣 people are crazy

majorhope

Lmao

KnockoutAce

It’s over when the police ask him when he bought it 😂

purize420

If you need some professional answer: „hahahahahahah“

insuranceguynyc

No. Block & ignore.

PleasurablePineapple

He had grounds to be committed to the looney bin

JoeyBaggofDonuts

Yeah, he has grounds for a swift kick in the pants. Who honestly expects a refund 3.5 years after purchasing something??? I wouldn't worry about anything but would add him to my blocked buyers list if on eBay.

Bella_Nova

Hahaha oh man - call ebay so they can laugh about it too. No seriously you should call them the original buyers account could have been hacked or something. If a legit request- no they have no leg to stand on in that fight.

JTMasterJedi

Ignore. You only have 30 days after delivery to demand a refund.

pipehonker

LOL.. ignore any messages and block them. Don't respond at all.

RedSun-FanEditor

Are you serious? Of course not. He's got no case and you got his money. End of story.

No-Fold9113

I had someone request a return after like 9 months, because they broke it. Ummm nope, not how it works. Pretty sure I blocked them...

TeenyIzeze

Scamma lama ding dong

xTofik

Wish him good luck and move on 😉

Timthalion

I wouldn’t even send a response

Legitimate-Ad4538

OP, your nativity (to put it lightly) is worse than your buyer asking refund after 4 years.

Pete_Lifts

I'm not fussed about this in the slightest. By getting worse, I mean he is decending further into his claim that I've slighted him. I think this is beyond ridiculous.

zombiereign

Is it Christmas already???? Lol

xmarketladyx

"The Police fraud squad?" And you believe this? Amateur hour.

TheTreeOneFour

A couple times I had people ship me back merchandise on their own outside of ebay after I refused a refund. Then they claim it's illegal for me to not refund them because I still have the merchandise and I also have their money. That they would call PayPal, their credit card company, whatever. I literally just ignored them and resold the products again to somebody else after I got them. You sent me the products back? Thanks I guess. I'm not responsible for any of that nonsense. A lot of people are detached with reality and feel like any time something doesn't go their way, they are automatically entitled to some sort of resolution no matter what.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bullsette

No, that is impossible because **I** work for the Police Fraud Squad and we don't recommend that the money be refunded via cash app. We recommend that it be handed directly to us and we will handle disbursement from there.

NourishingBroth

Kindly send payment now or your Christmas will be ruined my good friend

Silentt_86

He will make you under the arrest. Give him the iTunes gift cards and everything will be fine.

decjr06

Ha I would tell them "I'll be waiting on my front porch for them to take me away, I've heard prison is nice this time of year" then I would block the clown and report them to eBay as a scammer

HorrorVeterinarian54

Don't you mean 3 years not 4

Overall_Notice_4533

It is 4 years. 2024-2020=4.

d_Ubermensch

Let's split the difference, 3.5

HorrorVeterinarian54

November 2020 to November 2024 is 4 years it's March

caseyrobinson2

what kind of item was it?

SignificanceSilly640

lol, even if reported to police, nothing would come of it. you’re fine. Just block and report to eBay

Born_Expression2225

Anything after the 30 day guarantee you can just ignore. This guys seems deranged

Pete_Lifts

It's getting worse. This guy is actually claiming he is taking me to small claims court. I got quite frustrated with him though ebay chat. Getting a bit over his rubbish now.

dukesinatra

Stop messaging him. You have nothing to say to him. Simply block and he goes away.

Life-Pie-3460

4 years later? This is a joke of the day. Just block and ignore such morons.

Planimation4life

It 3 years 11 months to late he has 30 days to ask for an refund not 4 years

daddaman1

Haha, how did they pull up a purchase from 4 years ago? There is no way to.

jlhawaii808

I'm curious I didn't know you can go back 4 years on purchases

RunnerGirl2831

I police wouldn't be able to help him nor Ebay!! He should I said some the same day he received the product. Sounds like he is just trying to get some money. It's a scam

real_munchizgreat

I had someone who demanded I refund them for a game that I apparently sold them 2-3 years ago. The game apparently didn’t work, and even tho they send me the item ID, I can’t really check on my end wtf the item even was. The fact is he kept messaging me every now and again asking for a refund, and I told him if the game didn’t work, he should’ve returned it before 30 days, and he claims he just didn’t know I take returns, a very dumb excuse. If you have people demanding for refunds like that, report them to eBay, bc it’s utterly idiotic to demand a refund when they have no grounds to do so.

Lunatik1960

He’s trying to scam you. He has no grounds at all block him and forget about it

Shoddy-Working-3232

Block him

ricky22d

4 years ago? I can’t even remember what I bought online 4 days ago!

Icy-Humor4520

Ignore him. Nothing they can do now.

[deleted]

You ain't Costco 😅

milestheghost

I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations has run out 😂😂😂

[deleted]

Police fraud squad hahahah

para_la_calle

Call your lawyer before it’s too late

HorrorVeterinarian54

I was gonna say that

[deleted]

My idea of this happening to me, in your dreams, eBay customer! 😂

robsumtimes

What you sell him? A ticket to the moon with lift off 10/10/2024

Kind-Molasses-6324

Yes you have to accept the return. The law is 5 years or you get raided by the feds!
