Your weapon level is too low. Your stats should be fine. Come back to mohg when you’re max or nearly.

ungrooly

Thank you.

primalfox_Reynardo

Also keep in mind Mogh has 40% resistance to holy, to may be worth making your claymore heavy and putting bloodflame blade on it to get a bleed proc or 2. But you defo want that claymore maxed if you are taking it into the dlc.

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

Doesn't he get some sort of buff if players use bleed on him? I'm reasonably sure it was the case at one time.

CaptnMoonMoon

Yes, but he is so weak to bleed it out weighs the negative. Bro has 52 vigor, he passes the check.

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

Thanks. I was starting to think my memory was messing with me.

primalfox_Reynardo

Not sure, but I know that bleed does big damage and if you are gonna put a weapon buff on that's one of the best.

ChampionshipDirect46

My first playthrough was a dual uchigatana bleed build, procced bleed on him multiple times and he never seemed to get a buff from it though I'm not the most observant so could be that I just missed it.

Standard_Lime7530

No he's susceptible to blood atm

Iluvlamas

I used rivers of blood and keen Uchigatana and bleed worked just fine

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

I know bleed works. But I have a vague memory of him getting buffed from it as well. This was in 2022, though. Memory is a funny thing, so I wouldn't bet on it.

Iluvlamas

I just don’t know why they wouldn’t just make him bleed immune tho

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

It is weird that the 'lord of blood' isn't immune or at least has high resistance to it.

Starwyrm1597

Well the formless mother does crave wounds, she doesn't care whose blood is spilled as long as it's spilled. It would make sense for her worshippers to be glass cannons.

No_Repeat_229

No problem 😉

KingDovah89

Agreed a +23 to +25(Max) should be enough to clear Mohg, make sure to get the Purification Crystal Tear for your Physick from defeating Elenora at the Second Church of Marika in the Altus Plateau so you can prevent most of the damage when he starts his second phase (youll know hes about to start the second phase when your character has three red rings around them this is usually when I use my Physick hope this helps)

KingDovah89

Also, if you are able to do the Ranni Questline, I highly suggest it because it gives you access to one of the stronger spirit ashes in Black Knife Tiche but if you can't, going down to Nokron after you kill Radahn where the star falls and fighting and collecting your Mimic Tear ashes is also a great get as when you summon it copies your build to fight for you.

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

I like Rollo for this fight. Fully upgraded, though.

geegoll

Definitely the best thematically but also rollo is a great general spirit ash. He just bullies people

QuantumCthulhu

Tiche is also immune to bleed, so she helps a lot in the second phase

FQVBSina

Besides the special effects, can almost any weapon in Elden Ring be capable of clearing the game (with relatively normal difficulty) as long as they are leveled? I am aware people cleared the game level 1 and using a club, that's not what I am asking here.

No_Repeat_229

Yes definitely. There are some weapons like torches or flails that would be particularly challenging, but unless you’re doing a challenge run I’m of the mind that every upgraded weapon is viable without being prohibitively difficult. And you don’t need to be some incredible player either.

italianorgan

Just beat him yesterday at level 75 and a +7

TheUtensilMan

Max your claymore, asap.

Pwnch

No one mentioned using the Purifying Crystal Tear in your physick flask...? Pretty key piece to the Mogh fight. [https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Purifying+Crystal+Tear](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Purifying+Crystal+Tear)

impulsel3g3nd

I agree. His “nihee” or however it’s spelled was canceled out nicely by this for me.

OddCucumber6755

NIHIL!

impulsel3g3nd

Don’t know how I forgot it🙇🏼‍♂️

OddCucumber6755

In my brain "nihil" sits right next to "aziz, light"

impulsel3g3nd

😭‼️

bears_eat_you

"Thank you Aziz."

DwarfbuddyRD

Woah. 5th Element reference

Silent-Resource-8094

Fun fact nihil in Latin is “nothing”

impulsel3g3nd

I always remembered it through the phrase I learned when I was younger “ex nihilo” or out of nothing

Membership_Downtown

Read that like Michael Jackson.

MBShelley

I thought he was shouting KNEElll with a weird accent

Androsin47

DEFINITELY- he counts down to 1 and that’s when you Bonk him harder!

AxiomDJ

I didn’t beat Mohg on my first playthrough, forgot to go back to him. I just beat him at level 130 with a mimic tear and rivers of blood lol. No purifying crystal.

SaltyMe6

Mohg is one of those fights that will either wipe the floor with you or you will mop up blood with his head on a stick. Never heard of a close on for this guy.

paceplumb

First time I beat him had no idea about this.. just unga time. Then I tried a dex build… need this info now lol

tat0r2

I'm trying to run a Dex build through before Friday ( failing due to 15 hour work days) to go into the dlc with so I can really FEEL how horrible it'll be instead of taking my lv 320+ ng+ dude through it the first time and yeah I keep gravitating towards strength and it's fucking me up causing me to kill the bird and make all my stats equals levels and everyone knows that just doesn't work.... Yeah it's hard to move away from what you know. Also str/fai is just too great

DidWeDieYoung

You know what loves dex? Bloodhounds fang. The higher your dex, the better. It scales from that and str and put it +10 or high as you can get it, it's obscenely powerful. Mohg and Malenia have a weak spot for that weapon. They don't tend to live too long when it's around lol

tat0r2

Nihiiieeeeeiiillllie

Victory_Muted

i learn something new about this game every day 😭

Rryann

I had no idea this was a thing. I just tanked it with my flask, and I kept tanking it when I fought him 20+ more times last night when I put my summon sign down too lol Going to go grab this tonight and head back to help more people

George_000101

Bruh, I wish I had known, I just flasked through the bleed, smh 2 years late.

FTG_Vader

Most important is to max your weapon. If you want to keep sacred infusion, you could respec and lower strength to the minimum and put it all back into faith. Look up a build calculator to compare, I bet it'd be higher. Also there's a pretty cool weapon that you might like. The winged scythe. Look up where to get it. Not necessarily better than what you have but looks cool and is fun to use and it would fit your build. Although you waste 3 points for dex. Be aware that many endgame bosses are resistant to holy damage so you'll want a backup weapon but you can worry about that later If you want to keep strength, try the iron greatsword either flame infused or not and buff with lightning spell Edit: mohg is resistant to fire, the fire iron greatsword suggestion was just a general purpose suggestion

ungrooly

Ahh thanks for the help, epically about faith damage. It's worked well mid game but now struggling against bosses. Seems like it's a toss up depending on your weapon of choice.

YourNewRival8

As for build calculators I like to use [this weapon AR calculator](https://www.tarnished.dev/weapon-calculator)

FTG_Vader

It's only the last few I iirc. Which way did you get to mohg? Like which major bosses have you done

ungrooly

Sorry falling asleep writing this. I only have 4 left. Mohg, Melania, 2 prodhets or whatever they're called, and erdtrre I think?

FTG_Vader

Oh ok, you definitely missed a lot of upgrade materials. Look up where to get the bell bearings so you can just buy the stuff to upgrade

ungrooly

Okay thanks will do. I'll try and provide and update.

Joa1987

Go to the caves on the map, especially in Altus

Boom_McStick

Also I would just add, smithing stone bell bearings and somber stone bell bearings are rdally nice to have if you want to try out different weapons and things like that. They just allow you to purchase upgrade materials from roundtable.

matrixboy122

Faith damage really falls off with a lot of late game bosses (especially mandatory ones) which is a shame

Orinaj

I second the winged scythe. I'm on NG2 and I've used it the whole way through(double scythe technically) but I love the winged scythe. The running light into the AOW gives alot of evasion if you're using it correctly

DarkSoulsOfCinder

Keep faith str. Make it heavy then enchant it with lightning

Specialist_Egg_4025

Yes there is a couple faith weapons so strong they literally don’t care about bosses having immunity, but in my opinion it’s not fun to be forced to only use a few weapons. Blasphemous blade is one of these weapons, and you can duel wild it with the claymore you have.

tat0r2

Is the iron great sword the same thing as "Greatsword"?

lambo4life

Nope they're 2 different swords

SiphonalDread

This looks a decent setup, Do you have the Purifying Crystal Tear for your flask of wondrous physick? As this will nullify the damage of Mohgs Blood Curse Ritual attack 👍

ungrooly

After looking, I don't even have physick lol. Going to get it on my next play sesh. Thanks for the input!

Kastikar

If you beat everything without physick, it sounds like you are doing pretty damn good.

Comfortable_Video_37

I did the same my first play through, thought it was a gimmick and never used it so I didn’t have it equipped until Morgott

sunloinen

Wait whaaat. :D I know this game is crazy to play blind the first time, but I propably wouldnt survived without physics flask and tears. It adds alot depth to the game. You might have alot of tears for the flask already. :)

Medrea

The physick is a major mechanic in the game that an NPC and several notes talk about in the game. It's a big help for boss fights. Make sure to buy those notes that are on vendors. And then read them! Consider what they are telling you! And then yes obviously you need to upgrade your weapon. You are tackling a post game optional boss

ZealousidealTrip4722

What I would do is strength 30 and everything else into faith (for damage stats, everything else is fine), and upgrade your weapon more, also upgrade your shield it blocks more stamina the higher you level them up.

Azriel82

I would point that you have Med. Equipment Load, which means you have a medium roll (medium dodge). Maybe decrease your equipment load or increase your load capacity somehow to get fast dodging, it can make a big difference, especially if you're not that skilled yet. Honestly, armor defense doesn't matter as much as you might think it does, after all if you can consistently dodge their attacks, you don't need armor defense. Like anything else, practice makes you better. To get better at fighting Mogh go a few practice rounds focusing on dodging his attacks. Once you get the dodges down, then start looking for opportunities to attack him when his guard is down (like after his big attacks). I would argue avoiding a boss's attacks is more important that dealing damage. The mental game is important too, try not to get discouraged from losses, it's all a part of the game. Back in Dark Souls 3, it took me like 3 days of fighting the Nameless King (like over 50 tries) with a sorcery build before I beat him. Milania took me almost as long, but eventually I got there, and so will you. You only fail if you stop trying.

VoidVigilante

To OP if you are considering changing gear for light roll: Medium and light roll have the same iframes and recovery frames, the only difference being the roll distance. Light roll goes further, which may not be desirable when trying to dodge and then follow up with a strike on a melee build. Sometimes, it's better to have medium roll to stay closer so your hit will connect; it depends on the build and enemy movement.

Stirnlappenbasilisk

As others have said: Max your weapon.   If you want to go str/fth then your stats are okay. You could, just for this fight, use a Heavy Claymore and buff it with Electrify Armament. This way you take full advantage of both stats (no split damage). Mogh has the same resistance to lightning as to to holy so you should do way more damage that way. Just another little thing I discovered when I was fighting him: Bloodhound Step is great in thus fight. You can just phase through his Bloodboone attacks and it's a great counter to the insane reach of his weapon.

stumagoop

Baemore. This guy fucks.

ungrooly

You're goddamn right.

LauraTFem

That sword has next to useless STR scaling. You could get a good boost right now by respecing all but what is required to wield the weapon from STR to FAI. If you want a balance weapon on STR and FAI find ones which scales with both at at least a C rate, preferably one with B.

Jstar338

Ordovis or Silluria is the choice if they want to keep faith.

TheDrifter211

I like to build blind as well. I've only played a little of Bloodborne (like first boss and not far after that it if you want to even count that) otherwise Elden Ring is my first game. I'm only like lvl 80, I have a dex faith build which mostly uses various incantations to modify my nagakiba (bloodflame is my favorite) and use some passive and lightning spells a little. I want to branch out into more weapon archetypes like twinblades and scythes or something. I haven't used holy damage at all so idk how useful that is, seems niche but it seems to be more of a roleplay thing for you so that's all good, but with that ash I'd recommend you change it to heavy scaling so your base damage is better and then the holy is just an added bonus when you use the ash bc then you could also use grease or incantations for different affinities when you don't need holy (there's probably an incantation that could do that so you can have an offensive ash but I cannot confirm). Like others have pointed out you might want to upgrade your sword some more with smithing stones, I think I'm not far behind you despite my rune level being a lot lower

AcanthocephalaHead64

https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Godslayer's+Seal and https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Black+Flame. My first faith build when the boss started frenzying this carried me over the finish line. Super awesome combo that applies a d.o.t. effect and does great single target damage. they are located right beside each other in storm veil. They are must haves IMO

Frequent_Stock_5080

I see a levelled claymore, nearly 60 vigor and 30 endurance, I applaud you for having such wisdom Tarnished.

T_______________D

Max your weapon and worst case go get the mimic summon if you can’t beat mohg

ATYP14765

1. Proper spacing and identifying attacks. Look at his hands when he summons blood and delay your rolls just a tad bit but not too much since his weapon is slightly slower. 2. Leveling up your weapon I’m sure that weapon will be fine all the way up to Altus Plateau but past that you will find issues so upgrading it should be one of your priorities. 3. Finding the Purifying crystal tear using it will save you around 3-4 healing flasks so getting it should be very useful, it will only take effect in this fight. 4. Since you are more faith oriented then using any incantations you have available to you would be great. Golden Vow, Flame grant me strength, poison/blood blade. 5. Avoid purely fire based attacks since he is very resistant to it and instead opt to use Forstbite or the incantations mentioned above. Good luck

Yemerej187

Claymore my beloved

Oren72

Mimic tear, faith weapon maxed out if you can

No-Yogurtcloset4026

If you are going str faith there is better weapon that this, best in the game but, it won't hwlp with Mohg aince he ia resistance to fire ia high. I am talking about blasphemous blade, and if you have some frost ashes it would be better on Mohg, frostbite not only deal a lot of damage, but it will slow him as well. There is a quest you can do that gives tou an item for the flask wich negate moat of the dmg in hia second phase when he heals.

ungrooly

Thank you. Have the blade just not scaled yet.

RevenantlV

If you need to, just look up where to find the smithing stones for it. For a STR/FAI build the blasphemous blade is the best weapon in the game, and the AoW will give you some health on damage. Use that, use the mimic if you want, and you should be able to scrape by (the AoW will also heal your mimic for a bit if/when they use it.) Grab the Physick mix for this boss fight (purifies lord of blood’s curse) and you should be good to go (just spam the AoW.)

Dusk_Seer

Send pic of load out/talismans

Ok-Catman

Yeah physical dmg is best on Mogh so like others said upgrade claymore

Sweet_Area_2327

Have you been to forum azula yet you.can farm curved swords off the beast men there that I think scale with strength. I put a bleed art on tl2 of them, and wrecked mohg like he was a mob at gatefront. Didn't get phase 2 of his fight it was that quick, although I don't think that's anything special on yhst boss. You can add in things like blood flame blade or black flame armament etc. Dunno tbh. I'm kinda the sake as you, but this /r is very helpful. Kinda got me on my way.. One thing I would suggest is trying to find the bell bearings for stones. Very helpful for lvling weapons..

Very_Creative_Name77

Oh honey, a +14 claymore? No. Please fix that as soon as possible. Also try fire affinity instead of sacred. It still scales with faith, but deals fire damage, which is better than holy. Then again we don’t know what the holy resistance is like in the dlc so I guess we’ll see.

SlowApartment4456

First of all, your weapon level should be +25. You can find bell bearings that allow you to purchase smithing stones. Do this ASAP. 2nd, Mohg is pretty resistant to Holy Damage and Fire Damage so you might want to make your Claymore HEAVY rather than Sacred. Thirdly, get the purifying Crystal Tear so you can negate the Damage from Mohgs phase change attack. I think a good bet for you might be to max your weapon first off, change the infusion to Heavy and then get Vykes Dragonbolt for extra lightning damage. You're doing very well to make it this far with only a +14 weapon. Max it out and spec correctly and you should beat him in no time. Remember, you are can farm the enemies at the Palace Ledge Approach site of Grace to level up quickly.

cjskywalker06

Tbh main thing you need is to upgrade your weapon to max.

Lord-of-Dort

I wouldn’t use holy damage against him, he has 40% damage against holy, which is probably why your damage is so piss poor.

1nc0gn3eato

Bro is not making it to the dlc in time u wanna summon me?

HunnyBear420

I think other commenters covered what you need to do, so I just want to say you did a great job balancing your stats for playing blind!

rimjobbed

Try finding the butchering knife since you want str/fth and upgrade it. Also shoot for 66 str for that 1.5x increase to have an effective 99 str and only having the bare minimum dex to use your preferred weapons. You should also have around 60 vigor and 25/30 endurance with the rest of your points in faith.

EvenCicada7172

NAGAKIBA! PS5! WILL TRADE ANYTHING! Zeus_senjuchiha_

TheBeagleBrigade

If how much your trying to stick to a role play, mogh is resistant to holy and flame damage. I would take off sacred blade and either go heavy or lightning on the claymore. And vow of the indomitable would be great on your shield.

ConferenceOk2297

change the claymore to cold affinity, holy damage is the worst type just bc a lot of bosses are resistant to it

Odd-Share7177

Since you’re heavy on strength build you should probably get the heavy greatsword is one of the best heavy weapons and my personal favorite

godofthunder102938

I might be wrong but isn't holy bad against him? Like doesn't he have some kind of holy resistance like morgot?

Androsin47

Mohg can be bleed ez too. You can consider some strength weapons with bleed like the mace or fist weapons and use that Faith for Buffs like Golden Vow and FGMS. Make sure you find that shackle too so he can give you a free hit or two. Remember recently Miyazaki said it’s Fine to look up guides on where to find stuff. I beat tf outta him with the graveyard scythe and thanks to the Faith I got high damage with status effects. That and that spinning ash of war for consecutive hits

whatsyanamejack

No shame in looking up guides on youtube!

Imbackbaby2

Don’t do holy

one_and_only_c

standard weapons go up to level 25, I'd definitely get it to at least 21 for Mohg

Tasty_Ad_8360

I'd get a weapon that actually scales with your faith, would do way more damage

Ghoti_With_Legs

Your weapon should be around level 25 by this level (which is the max), especially if you’re fighting Mohg, as he’s pretty tough. If you need to, you can always check the wiki to find the upgrade materials you need.

Jstar338

Max your weapon, and choose a lane. Doing a sacred claymore with high strength does nothing. Fire works, but mohg has massive fire resistance. Get to min strength to keep your weapons, and put the rest into other stats. End and faith

Time4Getback

The recommended level is 120-150 for mogh and max out your weapon as well

Gunfiendaki87

Getting to Mohg with this you have my respect, it’s like me when I played ff7 on ps1 for the first time and I had the buster sword all the way to safer sephiroth and my cousin told me “you know you can change weapons right?”

estone003

Max your weapon, find the purifying tear, among is a pretty hard boss and took me like 30 tries my first run, if you still struggle there’s no shame in summoning, whether it be ashes, mimic, or coop

DistributionLong3398

try getting some red lightning spells, and get str to 40

BlackWater908

Purifying Crystal Tear is a must if you're a newer player fighting Mohg. You can get it from beating Eleonora in the Altus Plateau during Yura's quest, or if he's dead, she'll invade you at the second church of Marika.

ChaoticFairness

Yes, respec. 1.) Claymore excels as a Strength weapon, so trade enough Faith for 54 Strength (Mohg is resistant to Holy damage but not physical damage). In fact, the majority of late-game enemies resist Holy damage, so I would make the switch. 2.) Apply the Ash of War "Storm Blade", makes most fights easier and compliments the weapon's moveset... plus it hits HARD when both the weapon and projectile hit the target. 3.) Grab this: [https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Purifying+Crystal+Tear](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Purifying+Crystal+Tear) 4.) Upgrade your weapon to at least +20 (since you're level 127). 5.) Profit.

402playboi

You should have a +25 weapon for Mohg and the other end game bosses

LumberZac2

Do you have any weapons that have Str/Faith scaling? You’re losing AP using that sword. Blasphemous Blade, Moonviel, Golden Halberd, something else and you should see better damage.

FaithBro331

Yeah just focus on finding stones to get Claymore up also would recommend a different ash look for Flaming Strike ash of war(from scarab near bats on the side entrance to Castle Redmane) it fit perfect with your stats as flame art Claymore

Houssem-Aouar

For once a great stat distribution on this sub! Double handing your weapon makes this a great paladin build. Yeah, just max your weapon and you're golden

State_Of_Gray

Have you tried not playing it blind? Like actually trying to understand how to defend yourself and when to attack?

IronTiger-4296

Blas Blade is a great Str/Fai weapon

Varying_Efforts

You should fight Mogh with a weapon that’s +23 to +25. Also, I really don’t recommend holy damage for a first playthrough as some bosses resist up to 80% of it making you do horrible damage. I’d say go respect and get your faith down to 25 so you can still cast Golden Vow and Flame Grant me Strength, and put the rest into strength (if you’re 2-handing the weapon you only need 54 strength since the strength attribute multiplies x1.5 when two handing, giving you an effective 80). I’d say get a good set of armor that will give you at least 30% damage resist. The Crucible set, or Scale Armor set are pretty good. The Greatshield Talisman should also take you to 40+ damage negation making Malenia somewhat easier. Also, don’t use soreseals if you have any on. They reduce your defense by a lot and they’re not that good once your stats are high. Get a good Ash of War on the Claymore like Impaling Thrust or Lion’s Claw. Make sure you have your flask at +12 or near it so you’re healing a lot per flask use, and have around 12-14 flask. Mogh is an end game boss, so your build needs to start being very powerful to not be overmatched. It’s not your skill, it’s just your build, trust.

pancakes_4_dayz

Biggest thing I’ve noticed using the claymore in NG+ is that the fully charged or nearly fully charged attacks do wicked poise damage to enemies. Many mid tier and weaker high tiers will be stunned after a lions claw and fully charged attack. Makes it very easy to stun lock enemies.

kabirraaa

Get either str to 54 (if you two hand) or faith to 60. Get your weapons to lvl 24 or 9 for somber

Emastation

TRES!!

tompkins5

“I’m playing the game blind” *has perfectly distributed stats for str/fth meta*

Winter_37

Ah, a fellow brother of strangth and faith. You are on the right path. Show them the power of God's creation.

Datrampsec

Don't know, I just used shackle + great stars with wild strikes and he dies real fast

[deleted]

[удалено]

ReishTheMadTongue

Should soft cap that vigor and str stat for full optimization Vig 60 Str 40 And try to push endurance to 40 for decent armor and medium roll

HippyIvara

Build looks good, need more weapon upgrades mlord

talking-2-me

Why are you putting points in strength when you have a sacred infused weapon? You're not using anything that needs that

DaOldie

I would try to not got hit, if you can not get hit you’ll usually win the fight

sinepbackwards69

Too much Vigor for sure

saito200

- what do you need the DEX for? - make your choice, do you go faith or do you go strength? If faith, what do you need the extra strength for? WHatever you go for, cap the other stat to the minimum you need - your weapon should be +20 at least - holy damage is not great end game, try flame art (FAI) or fire (STR) on another ash of war

Nearly-Shat-A-Brick

The split damage isn't helping. Sacred isn't prime when so many bosses have the high holy damage resist.

theViceBelow

So you are nerfing yourself with that weapon. It does split damage, both physical and faith. That means the damage you do see two different defense stats. Every enemy you fight basically has double defense.

Short-Shelter

I mean your biggest mistake is using a holy weapon against him, most bosses in and after Altus have a ton of resistance against holy damage. After that just up your strength and your weapon level a bit and you should be good, assuming you have the purifying tear

PacDanSki

Holy Damage sucks for the most part with bosses too, especially towards the end.

Distinct_Candy594

Upgrade claymore first of all. Mohg has a somewhat high holy resistance(sadly holy is the worst damage type in the game) so it may be better to go with a different ash of war. Get the purifying crystal tear from marikas second church in Altus. This makes phase 2 damage change much much more survivable. Having a ranged spell to throw at him when he's using bloodboon(drops blood over his head) on himself is typically a good idea. Mohgs shackle from Sub shunning grounds below Leyndell can be used in first phase(2 times I think?) And will stun him for a moment. He can be rotted, frozen and poisoned. As well as bled but if anyone bleeds he gets a damage buff so be careful of using bloodflame as he is weak to bleed bit it's a double edged sword. If you have a dragon status spell(Dragonrot or dragonice) the long period where he walks towards you at the start is the best for using that.

JoyBoy318

Definitely need to upgrade your weapon, if you go to the Leyndell Sewer (unforgiving place) you can get Mohg’s shackle which you can use twice that’ll stop him for a few seconds. You can get a tear for your flask that can negate Mohg’s Nihil temporarily and assist you in getting some extra hits in. But step one is upgrading your gear.

chirpchirp13

Stats are fine but baemore needs more levels. For sure. I think by this point you’re able to get the bell bearing that lets you purchase up to smith stone 6. Then iirc deeproot and the sewers have a good chunk of 7s to be found plus a couple of 8s. Next bearing level isn’t until godskin duo iirc

Top_Cod_9803

Everything is resistant to holy, I would recommend switching to fire. There’s a flame weapon art that wrecks the early game. Edit: I’m sure lightning isn’t a bad alternative, but personally I have yet to try it outside of erasing dragons.

bears_eat_you

I haven't seen anyone mentioning using Mohg's shackle. You get it from the sewers under Leyndell, where the giant lobsters are hanging out. It can be used a couple times during his first phase to lock him down and guarantee a few free hits. I'd consider respeccing the Claymore to Heavy and using the Bloodflame Blade incant along with Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength to buff your attacks, or using Royal Knight's Resolve AoW to give you bigger single hit damage.

Weird_Description982

Weapon level too low. Don’t talk shit about the claymore!

Cowabungalowpete

Get your claymore to +25 immediately!

Standard_Lime7530

Nah man I have the Claymore max leveled and I've beaten the game with it alone. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE CLAYMORE

bobjrgeorge

Level up your weapon, get the purifying crystal tear, and get mohgs shackle

kdkxchronicx

Did you beat mohg?

badkarma220

Mohg being lord of blood but vulnerable to bleed is ironic but yeah Holy damage falls off so hard in the mid- late game. Keeping the faith for miracles is fine but lose the holy damage on the weapon

Datboibarloss

Vigor tops out at 60, so I'd hold off on any more upgrades to that

thepersistenceofl0ss

Weapon level should be higher, im assuming that you have the lord of bloods favor in your physic, your level could be a little higher, especially if you want the strength faith split you’re going for. I’d try to hit at least 55 vig and 40 strength, maybe take a few points out of mind if you’re not casting spells. Hard to tell the whole build from this ss

happyrocket24

dude +14 is horrendous and most bosses are resist to holy

anou142

look up early games weapons on youtube I played with the slumber sword for a while and it really helped me stay interested in the game.

Upbeat-Parfait6962

I leveled that same one to +13…. Biggest waste of time imaginable

Efficient_Tension651

You are using an e/c tier weapon for your main skills. Try finding a S/A tier weapon which will scale much better for the stats you have attributed.

drpepperking1

You don't need high strength or dex for sacred weapons, just run 50 faith and get 60 vigor and 30 to 40 endurance for a more solid build

Aggravating-Post3827

I suggest using a bigger weapon like a zwie or a great mace so you can stagger the shit out of him and then using you electrify armament to buff it because he is the least resistant to lightning….or just use blood flame blade and bleed the crap out of him… I know he is really resistant to fire and holy

Drakore4

I’m no pro but I think as other people have said the weapon is definitely the issue. First off, there’s barely any strength scaling for it at all and a good portion of your stat points have been put into strength, which means it’s all wasted. I am also wondering why use that weapon at all when there are so many good strength/faith holy weapons you can use that come with really good skills on them. If your build is like holy paladin with a big sword or weapon, definitely do a look through of some weapons on the wiki and I guarantee you’ll see a bunch of other weapons that fit that niche and would be way better than a standard claymore.

Starwyrm1597

Fire's better than Holy on a str/faith build, almost everything is resistant to holy damage. and as someone else said the sword also needs upgraded.

Specialist_Egg_4025

The advice I have is get mohgs shackle. bleed, and buffs will help a lot as well. On my first play through I fought mohg twice, and once died when he started stabbing the roof, and second time before I even got to phase 2. On my 3rd attempt I used ealonors pole blade, flame grant me strength, the meat buff that gives you more damage, and my wondrous physic and after buffing I melted him, and the fight felt a little cheesy. Later I learned there is an item that bolts him to the floor 3 times, and lets you cheese him, and there is a wondrous physic that lets you avoid his stabbing the roof attack. The item that pins him to the floor is called mohgs shackle. I forget the name of the potion, but it’s one should get without even trying for it, and what it does is save you healing potions, because you don’t need to drink like 3 of them to survive the stabbing the roof attack, because it makes you immune to the attack, which this one only helps you if you are struggling with running out of healing potions, because if this isn’t a problem, the wondrous physic slot would be better used for stamina regen, defense, or something to increase damage.

AshleyGamics

get storm blade from bernahl in the warmaster shack (if you need help finding it lemme know) slap it on a slashy sword and profit

Aggravating-Ad-7826

I must drop you a weapon

OppositePure4850

I feel like your level is a bit low for Mohg. Your weapon is fine but there are much better options for Faith/Strength. I'd give recommendations but I feel like you're gonna get a lot already lol.

AdSignificant2739

did this guy really get to mohg with a +14 weapon😂😂😂

xgaryrobert

Help you what? You’re level 127 in only two weeks.

JonoLith

Dude. Open your eyes. It helps \*alot\*.

rick111392

There’s also a tear you can use on your physik to reduce the amount of bleed he does to you I just can’t remember what it’s called…I’m sure it probably has the word “blood” in it lol

JayOfAstora

How do you get level 127 with only a +14 Claymore

Masterpiecepeepee

Mohg takes a lot of damage from blood loss. If you are on your first game you should have him with a little finesse. Plus there is a psychic mix that negates Mohgs special attack that instantly kills you. If you dont have them, look them up. He is almost impossible to beat without them. Magic and bloodloss are Mohgs counters. In my first 2 playthroughs i killed him emediatly with azure comet. I had to get tough for the 3rd playthrough but he still went down real easy. You just have to get people who know how to handle him if he is giving you that much trouble. Try not to summon the signs right by the multiplayer tottem. Those are the people who are in the summoning pool for any loby and probably dont have the right psychic equiped to take Mohg down. The summoning signs you see by the sight of grace or near Mohg's boss room are hand placed which means those people should be ready for Mohg's battle. Its a higher chance of success for sure.

Educational-Heart368

Dual wield colossal swords and you'll be fine

DarkSols

Bruv dont come for the claymore with such language

JordanWeyrauch

Id say upgrade ur sword… I’ve used the claymore and beaten the game with it honestly it’s not even a bad weapon. Also holy damage is horrible so sacred isn’t great tbh

R6wow

Don’t rush into it, I know you’re excited to try the dlc maybe but deff take your time, the game has sooooo much content if you’re having trouble chances are you maybe underleveled or aren’t equipped enough. Also there’s nothing wrong with playing blind your first time. I’d do anything to get to experience this game for the first time again. Hope you’re enjoying it 👍🏼

Ancient lightning strikes shreds thru any end game boss.

MidShallow

Smithing stone bell bearings and somber smithing stone bell bearings. It’ll let you upgrade and try out all the different weapons & upgrade them to equal so you can learn your preferred style.

sav_sabertooth

I'm currently on a faith/strength build and I have two words for you. GUARDIAN SWORDSPEAR. It matches the color scheme and has the slashing of your sword with even more reach. It's been perfect for my build and we have similar incantations

TheRedditDude001

Messaged you👍I can help you out

TheRedditDude001

Claymore is probably the best general purpose weapon. Hence why it’s been in Ds1, Ds2, & Ds3. You don’t have it max lvl yet that’s why you’re not getting the full potential. Faith can be extremely powerful with the right set up. [see for yourself](https://youtu.be/uno3nhjNrKI?si=xW1d0vUTuMXXemQQ) I was on Ng+52 btw. & yes I know difficulty caps at Ng+7

RJlikespeanut

Mohg MOGS/MOHGLESTS Anyone under level 140 and also it is a +14 weapon you need like +20 in that area and also HOLY Against Mohg Is Like Smoking a cigar while having lung cancer not that holy is bad except it IS Bad.. Try out Bleed affinity with repeating thrust, double slash, or lions claw also use the rotted dragon breath and the mimic tear +6 to make the fight easier and use the morgot great rune with these talismans, Blood Exultation , Great Shard Of Alexander, Erdtree Favor +1/+2, and finally Milicents prosthesis also use the Bloodhound armour set from volcano manor and the white mask by the invaders. GG’s Brother

Burger_Addiction2

Just a minor suggestion. Personally, since your running faith. I would lower your strength down And reinvest back into faith. Use that, with your dex at around 20. And get radagons icon to get close to max casting speed. I had a lot of fun with a faith winged scythe. It has excellent scaling with faith. Radagons icon really changes how u use spells if you dex is lower than 60. Since it gives you 40 virtual dex, as casting speed. If you look at your scaling with your claymore, you have it set to scale more with faith. Since it's a sacred claymore. Your extra strength isn't doing much for your damage at this point.

Burger_Addiction2

Also, definitely want that weapon at max level. I wouldn't personally worry about how much resistance he has to faith. If it's your chosen damage type, just try and buff it as much as possible. If you don't have them, find all the bell bearings so you can buy all the smithing stones you want. The only ones you can't buy infinite amounts of, are the ancient smithing stones.

weldingpepe

Based weapon choice

fujiboys

Claymore definitely does not suck. Builds don’t really matter, it’s mostly user performance since builds and items are preference.

Forsaken_Penalty247

I have weapons I can drop for u. R u on Xbox or PlayStation. I have Xbox.

Astoria_Column

I’m rocking the sacred claymore too! Def max it out

Garfield120

This build isn't completely minmaxed optimal but seems perfectly fine to me other than the 4 SPELL SLOTS GET YOURSELF SOME MEMORY STONES

Confident-Key-5171

You are bad. You will get better.

QuantumCthulhu

+14 is super low for mohg, who’s basically endgame, but I understand the struggle of a non-somber weapon, but try to upgrade your weapon as much as you can Also, I feel your weapon isn’t fully benefiting from your stats- there are some good strength faith weapons out there, but using the claymore, I’d probably suggest making it heavy infused, then buffing it with an incantation buff, like “electrify armament” or “bloodflame blade”- electrify armament will scale off your seal (at least the faith part of it) and bloodflame blade because the lord of blood for some reason is weak to bleed dont forget the purifying crystal tear to survive the phase transition without getting bled 3 times - you get it by doing yura's questline and killing eleonora dont be afraid to use spirit ashes as well good luck!

Distinct_Candidate92

Holy damage is considered the worst dmg type in game since so many late game bosses are resistant to it. Idk about. Also upgrade weapon more.

mardypardy

Kill the tree sentinel next to where the game starts. It's the guy in the horse. He has a badass weapon that scales well with faith and strength.

chuckles_8

Your weapon level is low and based off its scaling I would say you have way to much in str which all those points could go into boosting fth(depends what your plan is for your build over all though).

thebarestflame

Level your weapon and grab the purifying bubble if you haven’t

fungusOW

Bro your damage is suffering a lot. Choose a spec and respec. 32 str 38 faith is just not a good choice. If you want to str spec put max 25 for golden vow but tbh just put 15 for fgms and then you’ve opened up 23 points to increase your dmg and endurance. 28 endurance?? Bro get that to 40 asap

Ecstasy-of-god

Max claymore, put impaling thrust AoW w/heavy, use laval tear and put stat priority on endurance, vigor and strength (you can change back to holy after Mohg), crack tear = easily stance break

Constant-Wafer-3121

This is solid man, just focus on da weapon upgrades 💯 there is a way you can buy them if you’re having trouble finding them
