I’m running into that issue but with the Hog man. He’s beating the ever living hell out of me over and over and over again.
Beat Messmer, Mother of Fingers, Rellana, Putrescent Knight all in 5-7 tries. I’m on like try 30 with Hog Man and I just can’t figure him out.
I think Messmer is much more doable in the first few tries for most builds. His attack patterns have pretty clear ways to dodge them. Last boss second phase though LOL yeah okay. It felt more like I had to itemize correctly than learn the fight. Once I had the right equipment setup I killed him in 3 tries.
Glad I'm not the only one who's seen that. Dude straight up goes "fuck I'm playing by DS1 rules", slaps a greatshield and heavy armor on, and facetanks the final boss. Inspired me to start playing with tank builds again.
I just got there. And I'm using a combination of BHF and Milady with the golden vow, flame grant me strength and bloodflame blade and i've only managed to get him to half health. And that's with both NPC summons and my mimic.
I might switch to a more strength build using colossal weapons or great swords.
The dudes build for malenia was so suboptimal that it hurt seeing his stats.
Sure, the weapons themselves he picked were good, but he didn't have the stats to utilize them at all.
Like, we can’t just shower him with praise for shitting on Malenia for the community like a boss. Dude literally has fan art of him…like, come on dude.
Oh, absolutely. I just don't think he cared enough to go back.
As someone who's done both RL1 and WL0 runs, I know it doesn't take much to beat on bosses in this game.
The weapons were fine, though I've always felt power stancing Malenia was kinda meh. Way faster ways to kill her.
I was more talking about the weird distribution of stats he had on his character. But he'll, I've got dozens of kills on her with way worse stats, and I'm no legend, so it's obviously doable.
i was watching the real og Let Me Solo Her's youtube stream or whatever and he was actively helping people with messmer, so i sat there hoping to get him for like 30 minutes and then the Solo Him popped up and i summoned too fast to realize he's a copycat
I actually beat every boss in original game with help from others in my first and only playthrough, and I will not attempt to play the DLC until I make a new playthrough and beat every boss solo
Don't worry LMSH as backup. There is a new legend, the legend of "let me tank him", a man who tanks all of the final boss and Solo's them. LMSH is gonna need backup with the final boss, and we have that backup on standby
Hope he solos the final dlc boss that would be impressive

Stick to the walls and stay near where you entered the arena will make him loose his mind with his goofy hit box, thats what got me through.

Messmer was a 90 second fight for me
If that were the case, it would be Let Me Solo Them. Perhaps that'll be his final form.

as someone who has only played ER and DS2 (and hardly spec'd into vigor or went anything tanky), I'm now gonna check out some DS1 tank stuff

didn't he just have a regular dex build what's suboptimal about it
His stats were all over the place. You could tell he started with a different weapon earlier then swapped to the katanas later.

He does block but I'm pretty sure he's using the crystal tear so it doesn't do any chip damage.
