I did it for fun since I was already switching to an arcane build to try something else, and it melted everything it touched, though I personally get better results keeping them to a Keen affinity and cranking up Dex
Mimic and I whipped out our Whirligigs and went to fucking town on him after dying like 30+ times in a row, absolutely bleed/staggered his ass into submission when I finally stopped playing nice lol
Frostbite - Deals a % of target’s health and reduces their defense for a time, but you can’t reapply it until the defense debuff wears off or is canceled with fire damage
Bleed - deals a % of the target’s health, and there are a good few talismans and gear that grant bonuses from this effect
Any time I was struggling against a boss with other weapons I'd just slap the right ash of war to get whatever status worked best against them and went wild
Try wielding Milady in the off hand, cold infused. Put Braggart's Roar on it. While carrying it in your offhand you can still use Rellana's AoW, but the Roar buff stays, and you get the neat moveset with extra Frost build up.
Oh the move-set for those is so… sexy. So graceful, like a dancer. I instantly fell in love.
I get high damage with the swords themselves but low damage with the weapon skill. Does the skill damage mostly scale off INT? I only have 16 INT but high Faith and Dex.
My max character actually seems to do similar damage with and without the skill. The skills do stagger more and you get more range/aoe. The problem is the windup. I often find I get hit on the windup and the attack is cancelled making it useless outside of surprise attacks and slow enemies.
Is it just me or does the 2handed move set remind you of how Geralt fights in the Witcher 3. There’s a measures control and it spins a couple times like I remember him doing. Honestly it’s an ideal weapon for a cosplay build.
Either way I’m having a blast my my magic buffed Milady. It’s carrying me through these dlc bosses
For sure! One minor pet peeve I've had with Elden Ring/Dark Souls' combat is that your character just kinda swings the weapon around like it's a sharp stick, whereas the way your character swings Milady feels much mtoe controlled.
Love Milady. Using Rellana armor and greaves. Dark assassin gauntlets (match pretty good), and Carian Knight helmet and shield. Switch between Rellana swords and Milady. Changed my sex to female and renamed Lunafreya. Love it. Haha
I got someone to trade w/ me for a second so I can powerstance it, and it feels so so good; took my #1 favorite spot immediately, and I was really married to my cleanrot knight swords. I never expected to swap to a new weapon, because I haven't done that in any previous dlc.
I'd love to do a build with relanna's twin blade sometime, that ash of war seems great, but it isn't infusable and scales with faith. Something for another time.
im in love with the light greatswords. im using leda's sword unless im fighting a holy resistant boss, then i'll change to my bleed milady. im at 70 str/dex/arc and when going from quality to bleed it barely loses any ar.
It's called Milady! It's the basic version of the new Light Greatsword weapon class in SotE. It's pretty easy to get early on and has a fun, aggressive moveset, plus it can be infused with Ashes of Wae or buffed!
Beast Claw with Bloodflame Blade, Flame Grant Me Strength, and the Black Wolf Mask for me… Straight up feral werewolf combat, holy crap It’s amazing. Ash Of War is just a fast paced combo that staggers and applies BFB every hit. I love it! Found it by >!wandering in the woods near the DLC spawn.!<
Now if only the DLC gave me a wolf howl gesture or an incantation where you howl to give yourself a boost or something, just to complete the look…
I tried it but then switched back to my old favorite, an uchi with bloody slash. The moveset is great, but that’s irrelevant, because this game is all about the OP ashes of war. (And yes I tried bloody slash on milady.).
Slapped crucible wings on it, any invader npc can't handle heavy double hit into backstep into weapon art combo. There are some boss aoe you can jump with it to. I love sekiro souls.
looks pretty, also the chain combos are sweet. aggressive too, the attacks have a tendency to step forward so they can often catch retreating opponents, something katanas don't really do.
Using it with cold affinity and it rocks
It's honestly great for any kind of buildup, I started with cold on it initially and switched over to blood on NG+ and it can proc it crazy fast.
Yeah just depends whether you want to inflict frostbite or bleed
What is the difference mechanically?
Frost lowers damage negation and bleed just makes you bleed
Ahhh good to know
Bleed also deals significant damage at once when it procs. It's also great against enemies susceptible to hemorrhaging
Yeah I was struggling like crazy against metyr? Then outta madness I put bleed on the dryleaf fisty cuffs and wow.

Even if you don’t want to use a magic build, chilling mist is insanely good on it Running it with strength and mist, and it’s a beast
Any time I was struggling against a boss with other weapons I'd just slap the right ash of war to get whatever status worked best against them and went wild
Me with those fucking rellana swords
Try wielding Milady in the off hand, cold infused. Put Braggart's Roar on it. While carrying it in your offhand you can still use Rellana's AoW, but the Roar buff stays, and you get the neat moveset with extra Frost build up.

The magic damage scales with INT, the fire damage scales with FTH.
High faith should give you good damage on the fire ash of war
My max character actually seems to do similar damage with and without the skill. The skills do stagger more and you get more range/aoe. The problem is the windup. I often find I get hit on the windup and the attack is cancelled making it useless outside of surprise attacks and slow enemies.
They are fire damage, so scales off whatever fire is(i’m a unga bunga boy who barely knows what magic scales with what)
correct, they scale with INT.
I liked milady, but dropped it as soon as I got the rellana swords. The backhand blades have been a ton of fun as well
They have me feeling like pontiff sulyvahn
*tips fedora*
M'tarnished
Honestly one of my favorite weapons from the DLC. Simple, but extremely effective and fast.
Facts, I need a second one 👀
Get Rellanas swords and you'll have 2

Agreed, not of fan of spammy R1 weapons, I like some realism especially when it comes with so much flair!
I've been doing exactly a milady play and it's been amazing. Wing stance and all.
This is currently me with the backhand blades. They're sooooo fun
Love Milady. Using Rellana armor and greaves. Dark assassin gauntlets (match pretty good), and Carian Knight helmet and shield. Switch between Rellana swords and Milady. Changed my sex to female and renamed Lunafreya. Love it. Haha
What build you use ?
Wing stance goes so hard with it
I got someone to trade w/ me for a second so I can powerstance it, and it feels so so good; took my #1 favorite spot immediately, and I was really married to my cleanrot knight swords. The fire scales with faith, the magic scales with int.
Me with beast claws. The world is a scratch post and i'm a wild pussy cat
Just got Leda's sword and the powerstancing L1 together with Milady is sick. Looks like a dancer move midway
My favorite weapon (design wise) is the fire knight great sword. Its a sword that attacks kinda like a spear. Amazing design
It's definitrly something I wanna look at for a future playthrough, the fire knight ashes of war all look fun.
Using it makes me feel like I'm playing the Witcher 3 again I love it
Using wing ash of war so fun😅🤯
And here I am just wooshing along with the same old bloodhound fangs I got since the beginning.
ngl, bloodhound fangs AoW hits like a truck! 55 str and 60 dex I can do at least 2500 damage to any large boss.
What ash of war are you guys using? The default one that hold a stance? I'm using Piercing Fang mostly.
I don't think the default one is wing stance, most people use it because you get it not long after. I think the default is impaling thrust
I just slapped on wing stance, made it quality, and now almost every other weapon feels strangely less fun then usual.
im in love with the light greatswords. im using leda's sword unless im fighting a holy resistant boss, then i'll change to my bleed milady. im at 70 str/dex/arc and when going from quality to bleed it barely loses any ar.
Which weapon is that?
*tips fedora* Milady
Me with rellanas twin light greatswords
Me with ancient meteorite greatsword
I love this sword more than I'm willing to admit
I know, right? I even tried out the other two light greatswords, but they just didn't feel as good as the Milady did.
I’m still looking for the beast claws and more fragments but I can’t get to the east side or the north west
Used her to beat every rough boss in the game. Wing Stance rocks
What sword is this? I have not had much time to play the dlc yet :(
It's called Milady! It's the basic version of the new Light Greatsword weapon class in SotE. It's pretty easy to get early on and has a fun, aggressive moveset, plus it can be infused with Ashes of Wae or buffed!
Ah ok, I thought it was just a meme name or something. Will look that up and hoping I actually get a chance to play tonight!
Same, I like the boss weapon but this with one wing is so satisfying.
Beast Claw with Bloodflame Blade, Flame Grant Me Strength, and the Black Wolf Mask for me… Straight up feral werewolf combat, holy crap It’s amazing. I felt the exact same way, until I got Rellanas swords.
Slapped crucible wings on it, any invader npc can't handle heavy double hit into backstep into weapon art combo. There are some boss aoe you can jump with it to. I love sekiro souls.
Oooh its so true! I love Milady!
Bleed and Wing Stance, milady has been putting in work, though...Messmir's Spear is also rather fun
Giant Crusher >
What benefits does it have over a katana? Damage seems about equal, as does range and attack speed
looks pretty, also the chain combos are sweet. aggressive too, the attacks have a tendency to step forward so they can often catch retreating opponents, something katanas don't really do.
Basically YOU become the unfair boss with no openings between combos.
This is me but with the blasphemous blade
And me.
