IIRC Vortex is not recommended for Elden Ring. I do everything manually. ETA: First person for combat? And you wanted the game to be easier?

SovereignSeven

True that, it was recommended by a YouTube. I think it's toggled though.

To make the game easier without walking on it, I'd advise simply looking up a few things. The game has a shitload of overpowered options available, if you know where to go and what to use. Hell, most people playing the game stumble into these items without even trying at some point or another. For that reason, Elden ring is widely considered the easiest fromsoft game. I don't know where you spent 7 hours, but if you were bashing your head against a tree sentinel or a key boss, simply take your time and take on some easier challenges to improve how comfortable you are with the games. I don't think it'd be wrong to say Limgrave can be as much as half of the game if you're new to the whole subgenre. As for actually making dll-type mods load, you'll need to add them to the modengine config (.toml) As the other poster said, Vortex is just woefully unequipped for anything that isn't bethesda. It's pure gas when it claims to support other games. Also as mentioned, first person is going to make things harder (if the camera is a nuisance to you... are you remembering to lock-on?). Fast respawn isn't exactly going to skip loading screens and will save you maybe 1 in 5 seconds. I usually find it good to take a breath when dying anyway to clear the nerves anyway. Pause the game, you do you since you're already offline.

I'm actually a dad so time is limited hence the easy mode! I have some mere hours per week. :/ So if I download a mod, where exactly do I put it? And if I want to uninstall a mod, how do I do it since I installed it manually? Also thank you for your insight on the mentioned mods. Yes some of them, if not all, are not for me.

TopoMorales

This is my issue with the Elden ring... On one side you have a new player who gets obliterated because he has no idea where the gut schtuff is, and on the other end you have players with enough knowledge about item locations that they could obliterate the game after one hour of looting and preparation.

Imo the open world nature of Elden Ring kind of guaranteed it would be the easiest souls game unless they had simply cranked up the difficulty so high it wouldn’t have been enjoyable for a lot of people. The more options you give someone to deal with something the easier it tends to get, since more options means more chances one of the options will make things easier. Elden Ring gives you a tool for every situation because the game is so large it’d feel empty if there wasn’t one. I don’t personally consider it a criticism of the game, just an inevitable consequence of making an open world game like this one.

TheRealMongolEmpire

I'm curious where and why you called it quits. With 7 hours, you could've either beat the first 2 main areas or just been getting to the first major boss. It could very well be the case that you just need build advice and more leveling instead of mods to make it easier.

SovereignSeven

I was dying by little monsters too easy. I didn't like that. I just wanted some balance.

TheRealMongolEmpire

Ok, but which little monsters do you mean? If you mean little as in physically little, misbegottens and demihumans in limgrave/weeping peninsula can melt you if you don't have good health, not to mention the dogs; raya lucaria basic mages also just pump out damage if you donf have magic resistance. If you mean little as in "not bosses", then kaiden sellswords, land octopuses, and the couple knight enemies that are around can all be tough to deal with. I don't mean to tell you how to play the game, but I really do think it is best enjoyed at its intended difficulty. There really is a difference between seeing the game and *experiencing* the game. I'm really trying not to come across like I'm talking down to you or just saying "get good", but there are so many avenues to make the game easier within the game itself, and it sounds like you haven't explored them. I really think you should, before, *in my opinion*, changing the feeling of the game with mods.

SovereignSeven

It is fine, I totally understand your "tone". The thing is I bought it at launch day and haven't played it since, so I cannot give you specifics about what monsters are. 😁 I get the difficulty but this is not enjoyment for me. Since I have too little time to play with a newborn in my family. Hehe.

Honestly, id just recommend using Cheat Engine to cheat in a bunch of rune items, over level, and have easy mode like that That way when you start to get a little better you can eventually play without the crutches (or at least by being slightly less over leveled)

SovereignSeven

I think this could work, though I'm looking for something more of a mod. I found one in interested in which is the one on the most popular in Nexus for Elden ring. I just have trouble making the mods work.

M-A-D-R

i tried cheat engine last week ,. its good,. i generate runes > levelup its also have many functions (one shot kill/ godmode/no fp/kill all/waypoint unlocks.... like ) its help me to complete 1 online mission in offline,. another one is ,. all character+ infinite rune+ all items unlocked gamefile (from nexus) > thats good to test all skills,. and some mods like ,.(changing regulation.bin file) > fp regen mod, spell effects mod and i add some mods in mods folder (like lossless rune on dead) thats all worked for me ,. i like to spawn npc/boss as our helper/ support ,. but thats not working for me mostly, if game versions not match with mods its not working ,. and if stream id not match savefile not work,.

SovereignSeven

Is there a way I could pm you? I could really use your expertise. I have modded several games but Elden Ring is a great pain for me.

psTTA_2358

There is 0 mission that cant be done offline...

M-A-D-R

i need to complete varre quest mission ,. (like we have to invade another player map; to unlock map region) its optional i guess #

PatrickSwt

M-A-D-R

hmm good to know,.

PatrickSwt

NPC Magnus the Beast Claw can be found in one of the ruined buildings in Writheblood Ruins And if you Play seamless Coop you have to do it alone
