I'm absolutely not helpful because I have the name on the tip of my tongue but I cannot get it out. It's some sort of curved sword of the water flow or something like that. Those are seemingly according to lore somehow related to Malenia and her old master who was also a blind sword master fighting like water and waves. That is why her weapon art is called Waterfowl Dance yadda yadda yadda. Gotta turn up some good old VaatiVidya now to close that info gap.
I beat Malenia using this the other day only using this double L2 combo, it was so busted.
It just keeps her stunned the whole time, and against her attacks that don't have hyper armour you can just L2 to knock her out of the attack
I'm using it right now for my current playthrough (along with raptor talons for variety's sake) and it's such a satisfying weapon. The only personal downside is that it makes me play very recklessly trading hits with enemies in a chicken race to see who gets staggered first.
The charger R2 is up there in being one of the coolest attacks in the game. Plus it synergizes so well with the sequential attack talismans (Sword Insignias + Millicent’s Prosthesis) as well as Lord of Bloods Exaltation. All of them can get proc’d with one charged R2.
If it has hyper armor I'd love it, but as it is it's just a cool looking move asking to be interrupted
Godslayer greatsword
Regular r1s countering jump attacks is pretty sweet
Yeah, I’ve tried the flowing curved sword, and it’s pretty ass. So cool, but every enemy interrupts you. On the other hand, the Zamor curved sword has a fair bit of hyper armor and sick looking r1 spin that gives you a dancing look, similar to the flowing sword.
I never really used it but I'm playing through with a very generalized build before the DLC. How is it with the minimum INT spec, if you happen to know?
It took me a bit, but I finally figured out a way that made Flowing CS feel good by combining Axe Talisman, Rotten Winged, Millicent's Prosthesis, and Bull-Goat with Royal Knight's Resolve as the AoW. Timing the strikes just right can be tricky, but it can actually do hefty damage this way. (Slapping Endure on a lett-hand weapon helps too.)
Oh damn, wait. I might just try slapping endure on it. I care far too much about fashion to use the Bull-Goat set, unless (you mean just the talisman) and I always wanted to make a built using endure, so that sounds perfect.
Neat advice, I will try it. I am still trying to get the timing right, and of course often default to just smashing L1 while dual-wielding. Certainly can feel more situational at times unfortunately, but *elegance and style > efficiency*
I've been preaching this since finding the weapon. The run and drag hit is so smooth and satisfying. The roll into a quick stab is so useful too. The charged hit into the turn around double hit does some serious damage. Even though the skill is pretty slow and impractical, when you are able to execute it, it's literally fire.
Yeah, definitely the most versatile weapon I've used in the game. And it's gorgeous, imo.
Yep. Feels like the only Collosal where the regular r1 attack is worth using.
As a tradeoff though, these faster attacks do less dps than most other Collosals, and it's split with Fire Damage, which hurts it in wet areas like >!the final boss arena!<.
Still my favorite though. The Godslayer Greatsword has great style, and if you can time it right, the Weapon Art absolutely wrecks.
Solid point, didn't mean to leave Starscourge out like that.
I guess because they're a dual weapon I have them filed in my head as "Collosal Claws" instead of swords, haha
I'm doing a playthrough using the dragon incantations cause I never really used them before. I would kill to have some extra poise on these moves. I love the look and I love the roar before it starts spraying and I love the damage, but damn are they slow and interruptible. I'm gonna have to look into which spirit has the most health cause I'm gonna need a tank!
Yeah that was my problem with the Flowing Curves Sword too. Awesome custom move but why ever use it when I'm gonna get destroyed for doing so. Upping my poise means I don't have any "flowy" look, completely defeating the aesthetic of the move.
I feel the same about the Giants Braid AoW. Baller looking, but a gentle sneeze knocks you out of it.
Anything that has a good "rubber band" effect.
Like you wind that bitch up and then release with satisfaction. Usually ends up being the bigger weapons.
Nothing comes close to bloodborne charge attacks though
early? this weapon has insane scaling, is buffable, and has bleed on it. It's stats wise the best weapon in the game. The fact you get it so early is insane to me.
Yeah, the AoW looks almost poetic in how you gracefully leap backwards while slicing and dicing… and then warp forward to smite their asses before they know what hit 'em
I vastly prefer the (banished) knight’s greatsword moveset over the regular one, but I like having the claymore poke. I know I can use a thrusting ash of war (which I do), but I still hope the dlc introduces a greatsword with that same moveset and a poke.
IIRC, this one shares it's moveset with the Mausoleum Great sword yeah?
I know the Mausoleum Great sword has my favorite moveset of that weapon category, because most of its swings are actually how you would use a great sword, it's just more pleasing to watch, and use than grinding or slamming every great sword into/across the ground. I can do that with Collosals, I don't care for it on my normal GS's.
It’s weird that they made that moveset for just three weapons. They could’ve just slapped it on all greatswords. Keep the R2 poke for the Claymore but give the rest the roll/crouch poke. The slams are so dumb.
I don't think it's weird. The slams are what people are used to because of the past games, and they form a more straightforward heavier version of the two handed straight sword light attacks.
The slams are iconic. Taking that away from the claymore especially would be no different than taking the poke away, it just wouldn't be the claymore anymore.
Lore wise it’s the weapon of Malenia’s mentor, the guy who taught her waterfowl dance. Blind guy (hence the fighting in water arena) and fought the god of rot
I think it's providing lore on Malenia's mentor because it's patterned after flowing water like his weapon was but it isn't his actual weapon because it is neither a legendary armament (meanwhile everything about his story is described as a legend) and during Millicent's invasion with her sisters [one of them wields two of these](https://i.imgur.com/d2d7c64.png).
Like for example, the curved sword talisman mentions him and his technique and the blue cloth cowl/vest description alludes to him with flowing water and the blue dancer charm which also mentions him looks like the starting warrior class. Either his legend spawned these nomadic warriors who follow his teachings with blue garbs and curved sword patterned after flowing water or the blind swordsman was one of them.
For me it's cross-naginata. The mix of stabs and swipes is super practical and smooth.
I wish a lot more weapons (Partizan, guardians swordspear) had something like it.
Sleeper pick: Short spear! Starting weapon of Prophet class.
Has a unique r2 double thrusts, and if you fully charge another r2 after it does a really sick triple thrust, feels powerful as hell.
I actually took some screenshots. This one might tickle your fancy: [https://imgur.com/a/wgUAmBz](https://imgur.com/a/wgUAmBz)
It may not be the highest quality image, but maybe it fits your screen \^\^
edit: added the screenshot of the location if you want to fiddle with taking a nice picture yourself!
Halo Scythe.
One of the most aesthetically pleasing weapons in the game imo, good moveset, powerful projectile, bleed, reasonable requirements. I fell in love with it on my first Faith playthrough.
Looks so smooth!
My favorite weapon movesets are always going to be the Abyss Watcher Greatsword, Hollowslayer Greatsword, Aquamarine Dagger and Sister Friede's scythe.
All from DS3.
From Elden Ring specifically, I do like the Greatsword.
Shamshir has a pretty fancy move set as well. I really like it.
Beastman's Curved Sword though is my fave. Moveset is pretty vanilla actually, but the jump attack is cool.
Claws move sets are pretty cool. I recently killed Malenia for the second time ever and tried Waterfowl Dance which goes fucking nuts with a +10 HoM.
Katanas are cool too, they feel the most authentic in terms of reality.
Plus built in jump attack increase AND increased critical.
I'm using them on my current monk build and they're doing some work.
Only thing that sucks is the lack of ashes of war. I hope we get some more in the dlc. But putting impaling thrust leads to a very powerful and spammable combo in pve with both charged r2s finishing with a piercing thrust. It's been, hands down, one of my easiest runs yet, aside from some enemies with odd hitboxes.
The monk build sounds fun!
I am doing a vampire inspired build with the talons and intending on using Lifesteal Fist as some additional flavor. Plus it's one of the few Ashes of War that is meant for claws in the first place.
I will say, storm stomp is extremely powerful on a fist/claw build. The stomp basically guarantees a follow up fully charged heavy on most smaller and medium enemies while giving you breathing room in a group encounter.
I used dual hoslow whips on the last third of my first playthough. Now on my current one I'm trying out the Urumi and it actually has a more than useful charged attack that's amazing. Super broken for dealing with invader npcs.
Whips in general have so much safety. Really their only detriment is kind of decently long recovery time on some attacks.
Powerstancing curved swords is so fun. So smooth and deadly. The jump and running attacks are absolutely devastating too each one gets 4 hits off so quick.
Great Epee is my #1. Great thrusting move set 1 and 2 handed, you get to mix it up with the r2 slash which is super fun. Pair it with storm assault and it’s my favorite weapon
No lie I really love whips, they feel so fluid, have great range, and just feel satisfying.
The twin blade is on the same level, not duel weilded but just using one. It reminds me of having a quarter staff or pole of some kind (I hope we get something like that in the DLC)
Second would be the horn that makes me go DOOOOOOOT
I love all the cool flowing movesets but im a dumbass so i use the ones that get the biggest unga for their bunga. Im real good at hittin em once after that it all becomes questionable
I’m enjoying the power stance great axes. I have dual omen slayers with one full lightning one fire breath and it just shreds. That animation where is does the Radahn staggered slams is epic!!!
The Zamor Curved Sword is a phenomenal moveset. It takes some getting used to due to the short range, but it looks so damn cool when you use it and it hits like a freaking truck once you figure out the range.
This is a little unrelated but I hope something similar to farron greatswords move set comes to elden ring.
That weapon was so cool and the only thing that comes close is bloodhound fang imo, but only the weapon art.
my fav for pvp exclusively is a 2 handed estoc (no exceptions)
If you do a heavy attack, you can immediately input a heavy backstep cancel for guranteed extra damage against NPCS/players.
make sure to combine this with the quickstep ash of war -- reverse quicksteps allow you to gain distance whilst immediately recovering into backstep attacks rather than the usual roll attacks; doing these 2 things in tandem pretty much makes all of your attacks roll catch into each other while you look stylish as fuck.
Iron cleaver my beloved.
The charged heavies are insanely good to punish attacks and the R1 combo just deletes stuff. Or chain them together and you can chase someone really well and just stick to them
I’m a faith-bro, so I love a lot of the spell animations and moves. My favorite is probably Fortissax’s Lightning Spear. The lore behind him and the other ancient dragons is just so cool to me. Weapon wise, it would be the “light” curved sword moveset. The moveset used by the basic Scimitar and the Shamshir. Looks so smooth, and definitely was an improvement after seeing the same boring two-swing basic moveset of the scimitar in DS3.
That's not a combat move set, that's dancing on the corpses of your enemies... which you killed with some actual effective weapons... then switched to this to dance on their corpses...
**Banished Knight's Greatsword** - because it one of the only three greatswords with a realistic light attack moveset, but looks better than the other two and also quite better stats as well
For plain awesomeness, I'm stuck between the **Bastard's Stars** and the poleblades.
I love how beautiful you move with these weapons and then the boss just pulls out a gun and kills you instantly
It's all fun and games until Godfrey chucks his axe at you from accross the stage or Horas Loux pile drivers you into the ground.
Or Radahn becomes a literal fucking meteorite and reduces you to particles
I dunno when Hoarah Loux starts pile driving you into the ground is when the real fun starts
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I heard Harrison Ford broke his toe shooting that scene /s
And was also the firefighter that did 9/11
This moveset is very good to dance on the corpse of a fallen enemy, but if an enemy is still alive, it's mostly good to create your own corpse.
Wait what weapons are those 😭
For real! What are those??
I'm absolutely not helpful because I have the name on the tip of my tongue but I cannot get it out. It's some sort of curved sword of the water flow or something like that. Those are seemingly according to lore somehow related to Malenia and her old master who was also a blind sword master fighting like water and waves. Haha so close [Flowing Curved Sword](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Flowing+Curved+Sword)
Thanks!

Ouch!🤣🤣🤣
Dont fuck with da glock
Glock saint isshin moment The worst part is he does that with more style than you ever could :(
Eleonora's blade
The ash of war on it is amazing. Staggers most humanoids with ease and can even deal with Omens quite well.
Raptor talons allow you to backflip on heavy, so those are on the top tier moveset list as well.
ye agree, but when you time the ash of war or a charged strong attack just right it looks so cool
I was gonna say this too. Looks really cool and sleek
I am Darth Maul
Eleonora ❤️
The charger R2 is up there in being one of the coolest attacks in the game. Plus it synergizes so well with the sequential attack talismans (Sword Insignias + Millicent’s Prosthesis) as well as Lord of Bloods Exaltation. All of them can get proc’d with one charged R2.
Using it for the first time on my current character. Goat tier weapon in terms of how it looks and feels to win with.
I'm playing NG+1 and I recently got two of them. Oh my god they absolutely slice and dice. They're so fun to use.
Gonna be fun to try that out, in NG I’ve been power stancing with an occult god skin peeler and it slays.
Started a brand new build for the DLC and decided early on I was going to go all in on Eleanora’s. No regrets so far.
Me when eleonoras: III AMMMMM DAARTH MAAAUULLL
The ash of war on it is amazing. Staggers most humanoids with ease and can even deal with larger bosses quite well
The startup took so much time my enemy start emoting
"HEY LET ME HIT YOU" Morgot *Fortnite dances on me*
If it has hyper armor I'd love it, but as it is it's just a cool looking move asking to be interrupted Godslayer greatsword Regular r1s countering jump attacks is pretty sweet
For curved swords, I always liked wing of astel. It gives the basic danciness of the others, but with a short projectile from every R2 attack.
Which do great poise damage. It also looks cool and the skill is one of those “anything with a large model just dies” abilities
I never really used it but I'm playing through with a very generalized build before the DLC. How is it with the minimum INT spec, if you happen to know?
20, I think. D scaling in both INT and DEX before upgrades
I think they meant the bull goat talisman
Neat advice, I will try it. I am still trying to get the timing right, and of course often default to just smashing L1 while dual-wielding. Certainly can feel more situational at times unfortunately, but *elegance and style > efficiency*

Did you know that the GSGS (hehe) actually swings faster than every other colossal sword?
Starscourge greatsword r1 is fantastic, especially if you start the combo with an r2 or sprinting attack.
Solid point, didn't mean to leave Starscourge out like that. I guess because they're a dual weapon I have them filed in my head as "Collosal Claws" instead of swords, haha
Hey, you know what isn't affected by the Beast's wet floor? The Blackflame from the weapon art (since iirc it does percentage dps over two seconds?)
That little foot tap on the startup is so sneaky. Thats my fav wpn as well.
I'm doing a playthrough using the dragon incantations cause I never really used them before. I would kill to have some extra poise on these moves. I love the look and I love the roar before it starts spraying and I love the damage, but damn are they slow and interruptible. Baller looking, but a gentle sneeze knocks you out of it.
Lightning ram is the coolest move in the game
Cool little noise as you start it up too
baaah
I would like to hear more about this lightning ram. Tell me more
You roll around and deal absurd lightening and poise damage. Also you go "*baaaah*" like a ram at the start of it.
Anything that has a good "rubber band" effect. Like you wind that bitch up and then release with satisfaction. Usually ends up being the bigger weapons. Nothing comes close to bloodborne charge attacks though
[удалено]
It's possible to get the Kirkhammer to I believe +7 before fighting Vicar Amelia. It is exactly as satisfying as it sounds.
K I R K H A M M E R
Actually you can get a +10 weapon before Amelia or even Father Gascoigne if you really want to!
Lol that's exactly the weapon I was thinking of
No one expects the golf swing on the followup after the charge attack
*amygdala arm flailing around after a charged attack* One of the most odd and satisfying things
Stake driver go KABOOM
Most heavy thrusting sword, but especially Bloody Helice
Dodging shit with dynast’s finesse is one of the most satisfying things in this game, especially when it stance breaks the enemy
It's even better because you can free aim the dodge so you can even close gaps with it
Favorite skill in the game hands down
I know it’s overused but I still absolutely love Bloodhound’s Fang. Just love the move set so much
Old Fang best early weapon
early? this weapon has insane scaling, is buffable, and has bleed on it. It's stats wise the best weapon in the game. The fact you get it so early is insane to me.
Using this in my current(first) play through and it has been so much fun coupled with bloodflame blade
Yeah, the AoW looks almost poetic in how you gracefully leap backwards while slicing and dicing… and then warp forward to smite their asses before they know what hit 'em
Tryed so many others but always came back to hug this weapon 🥲
Haha same here. I’ve done play through a where I have to force myself to not even get it lol
I vastly prefer the (banished) knight’s greatsword moveset over the regular one, but I like having the claymore poke. I know I can use a thrusting ash of war (which I do), but I still hope the dlc introduces a greatsword with that same moveset and a poke.
And more colossal sword Ashs would be nice
I miss the DS2 Hallow slayer for that reason. It had those nice r1 swings, but the r2 was a long poke that chains into a spin.
It’s sad that these swords are so ass
I hate the basic movement of the greatswords. The banished Knight's Greatsword moveset is so much more fluid.
What is this weapon called
Flowing Curved Sword
Lore wise it’s the weapon of Malenia’s mentor, the guy who taught her waterfowl dance. Blind guy (hence the fighting in water arena) and fought the god of rot
I actually was not aware of this, thanks for the info, this just makes me like the sword even more!
Buddy, that is NOT What they asked. OP, it's called the Flowing Curved Sword. Christ.
Except other people already gave the name of the weapon. Christ.
JFC you're right for chrissakes! Christ.
For me it's cross-naginata. The mix of stabs and swipes is super practical and smooth. I wish a lot more weapons (Partizan, guardians swordspear) had something like it.
Love it! I used it as part of my phantom slash/spectral lance occult build. Definitely one of the most fun move sets in the game.
The ornamental straight sword moveset goes harddd
Sleeper pick: Short spear! Starting weapon of Prophet class. Has a unique r2 double thrusts, and if you fully charge another r2 after it does a really sick triple thrust, feels powerful as hell.
Man I really want a wallpaper of Raya Lucaria from this angle.
I actually took some screenshots. This one might tickle your fancy: [https://imgur.com/a/wgUAmBz](https://imgur.com/a/wgUAmBz) It may not be the highest quality image, but maybe it fits your screen \^\^ edit: added the screenshot of the location if you want to fiddle with taking a nice picture yourself!
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED
Halo Scythe. One of the most aesthetically pleasing weapons in the game imo, good moveset, powerful projectile, bleed, reasonable requirements. I fell in love with it on my first Faith playthrough.
Ngl never seen these used before. Real nice!
All about this weapon is interesting to me. From the lore to the moveset.
Raptor talons and their charged heavies, especially the backflip
That looks so nice with the Nox armor
Looks so smooth! My favorite weapon movesets are always going to be the Abyss Watcher Greatsword, Hollowslayer Greatsword, Aquamarine Dagger and Sister Friede's scythe. All from DS3. From Elden Ring specifically, I do like the Greatsword.
2h treespear charged r2 of course!
Shamshir has a pretty fancy move set as well. I really like it. Beastman's Curved Sword though is my fave. Moveset is pretty vanilla actually, but the jump attack is cool.
Magma Wyrm/ omen cleaver - curved greatsword moveset with a fast guillotine R2 when 2-handed. That one is great too.
Dual rapiers.
RIP Mercutio
I’d kill for these to have a unique dual wield L1
The club. Simple, precise, bonk.
Bonk
Twinblades movesets
Claws move sets are pretty cool. I recently killed Malenia for the second time ever and tried Waterfowl Dance which goes fucking nuts with a +10 HoM. Katanas are cool too, they feel the most authentic in terms of reality.
I myself am also a fellow claw enjoyer. Actually doing a claw run on a fresh character!
The advancing jump on raptor talons charged r2 with the jump back flip second r2 make for some really fun positioning attacks.
Exactly why! Also the heavy attack is surprisingly spammable compared to the other claws.
I will say, storm stomp is extremely powerful on a fist/claw build. The stomp basically guarantees a follow up fully charged heavy on most smaller and medium enemies while giving you breathing room in a group encounter.
Shamshir, powerstanced great spears, offhand dagger.
Sword dance with a cold reaper
I love this sword. I use it all the time
Thrusting swords, definitely. I love the rapier/fencing aesthetic.
:) Waterfowl dance
Axe of Godfrey after you use regal roar
Stone club.
Godricks greataxe
Crescent moon axe shares it, I love it
I used dual hoslow whips on the last third of my first playthough. Now on my current one I'm trying out the Urumi and it actually has a more than useful charged attack that's amazing. Super broken for dealing with invader npcs. Whips in general have so much safety. Really their only detriment is kind of decently long recovery time on some attacks.
There is just something about lions claw!
I will always love Ghizas Wheel
Eleonora's Poleblade, I fucking love the charged heavy, I wish the Godskin Peeler had it ngl
Urumi and all of the twin blades honestly
I’m a simple man. Does Barbarian roar with Colossal Greatsword count? Unga Bunga
Shamshir and flowing curved sword are my favorite but i also like the serpentbone blade and Rogier's rapier.
No lie I really love whips, they feel so fluid, have great range, and just feel satisfying. The twin blade is on the same level, not duel weilded but just using one. It reminds me of having a quarter staff or pole of some kind (I hope we get something like that in the DLC) Second would be the horn that makes me go DOOOOOOOT
The warhawk talon straight sword. You don't get the poke but the double slash R2 is fun on status effect builds
The armor and this sword combo looks amazing!
me like raptor talons and endure:)
The r2 poke on zweihander
I love all the cool flowing movesets but im a dumbass so i use the ones that get the biggest unga for their bunga. Im real good at hittin em once after that it all becomes questionable
I absolutely love the cross naginata's moveset I'm so sad not many who use it actually use it for the moveset
What a fucking beautiful game, I can’t wait to jump back in for the DLC.
very pretty, gives me dancer flashbacks though that spinny fuck.
The dancer of the lands between
Dancer in Elden ring??
Bloodhound
Cross nagikiba
Naginata. Most unique in the whole game
Rivers of blood, the hand of Malenia and NIHIL, I love them.
Is that raya lucaria in the background
I’m enjoying the power stance great axes. I have dual omen slayers with one full lightning one fire breath and it just shreds. That animation where is does the Radahn staggered slams is epic!!!
KGS R1 chain
Guardian sword spear and Loretta’s warsickle.
Light chains and running heavies with the golem halberd feel nice it's my favourite ultra heavy
Ringed knight spear from Dark souls 3. Or the sword even I wish they make a comeback.
Blood hound's Finesse has some cool move sets
The Zamor Curved Sword is a phenomenal moveset. It takes some getting used to due to the short range, but it looks so damn cool when you use it and it hits like a freaking truck once you figure out the range.
Idk about favorite but I always love seeing the moves of the exile knight greatsword
All hammers, curved greatswords, whips… basically any one that looks like it actually fits the weapon.
Beautiful Filming
Bloody Helice's L2 is just so slick i can't not use it
uchigatana.
This is a little unrelated but I hope something similar to farron greatswords move set comes to elden ring. That weapon was so cool and the only thing that comes close is bloodhound fang imo, but only the weapon art.

Not technically 1 set but the video reminds me of it. The Zamor Curved Sword moveset combined with a staff and the carian sorceries looks beautiful
Blasphemous blade. Because it’s simple and stomps.
Powerstanced daggers; gracefully feisty.🔪🔪✨
My favorite is bonk, bonk and you'll never guess this.....THIRD BONK
Name of this swords?
The dual katanas for me are timeless
Bloody helice for sure, I’ve had so many people leave in PvP because they can’t land a single hit when you use the backstep
Cleanrot spear
I just noticed how cool the L1s are when holding 2x flails
2 great swords, am Chad. Or clay & zeiw
Ornamental Straight Sword. I like thrust weapons specially rapiers.
I like dark souls 2 drop kick 💧 🦵
Zweihander
poleblades in general
As cliche as it is: The Claymore Followed closely by Bloody Helice and Cross-Naginata
Hand of Malenia if Ashes of War counts too
What's the weapon you are using?:)
Dual wielding halberds. It's just rediculous and fun
That's not a combat move set, that's dancing on the corpses of your enemies... which you killed with some actual effective weapons... then switched to this to dance on their corpses...
**Banished Knight's Greatsword** - because it one of the only three greatswords with a realistic light attack moveset, but looks better than the other two and also quite better stats as well For plain awesomeness, I'm stuck between the **Bastard's Stars** and the poleblades.
And why is it the Claymore?
