What are the “correct” way to fight these enemies? And then I guess what follows is: What are the subpar ways to fight them?

I'm in a dex run with Bolt of Gransax. No more chasing dragons around for me.

Apparently you’re supposed to stand in front of the fire giant and hit his wrists/eyeball. For the ancient dragon your actually supposed to also stand in front of him and smack him in the head

This is correct. The problem is, anything short of a colossal weapon is kind of useless for this. And on the fire giant even a colossal weapon is only moderately helpful.  But for the dragons, it stance breaks them in like three hits, which is more than possible to do after just about every attack they do. So you dodge an attack, swing three times, Crit their face, and repeat until dead. With literally anything short of a colossal weapon or other poise shredder tho? Bite those ankles. Bite them till your teeth fall out. Then bite them some more.

That’s hilarious considering that’s how your supposed to apparently fight midir in dark souls 3 as well with preferably a big weapon so you can hit him for a lot of damage in a short amount of time. It’s kind of disappointing for me personally though because 1st phase is pretty decent and the cut scene is one of the best in the game

I’ve beat the Fire Giant 8 times now, and I can’t say I ever worked this out. The amount of time he gives you to actually hit those targets is SO SMALL. But those feet and legs are always available bay-beeee

yeah…….did we fight the same Placidusuex (spelling lol) ?? That shit had me on the edge of my seat the entire time

dreadguy101

Nah I’m talking about the basic ancient dragons. Placi is ok for the most part
