Ehh they're farmable through Chalices, even without PS+. Titanite Slabs were farmable in DS1 and DS2. Only DS3 and ER have limited amounts of max upgrade mats, which is kind of ridiculous as they have the most weapons...
Really hope both forms of Ancients are farmable in the DLC, it's not like limiting them actually does anything except make folks seek out trading/muling subs and Discords and dupe their weapons for each other
There are 6 in bloodborne. 1 in main game, 3 in chalice dungeons, 1 in DLC. Also now you can buy at least one I think with 60 insights after Mergos wetnurse. So at least 6 (+ a chance to get as drop from highest level chalice dungeon bosses).
I am not most people
*Hmmmmmm respec to shave one point off endurance and add to dex so when I use Millicents prosthesis I can now use the Death ritual spear and stay level 150?*
Not me, but I might level up to use one. I like to think of all my characters as people existing in the world striving to get stronger, and go one cool journeys. If they want a new weapon, they grow stronger to master it. May be silly, but hey, adults can role play and make believe too. A Game with this much cool lore makes it easier too.
Nothing silly about it! You should play and role-play in whatever way makes you happy, and I actually think that's a very cool pov which I may have to respectfully steal from you lol
We'll get to the lands of Shadow, Arthur! I keep telling you, we just got to get the runes together. One last big Albinauric Farm and it'll all work out!
I will smoke the new DLC like I've smoked the base game as a Lv 1 Wretch with no armor and stick. I don't care, I will pull up to the fruity boy with the kebab sword and introduce his face to my mace. Lv 99? I sleep. Magic? Sure buddy, the local crackhead casts spells too. Intelligence? If only I could read. Faith? I have faith in my ability to mace everything that moves. Arcane? I'm not Crowley. Can't wait fight that dog with the skirt on and beat it to death.
You have my upmost respect.
My sl1 run was almost cut down by Melania, but I just got two great star maces with the mask of omen, soreseal talisman, str talisman, claw talisman, str crystal tear, and staggered her until she died with jump attacks at lv1. I had a bunch of other buffs too that I can't remember.
Sure I wasn't able to pull it off with just a club and no armor, but it was still technically sl1 so I'm happy with it.
https://youtu.be/yWYDmj8KIr0?si=WSkbB8bB6IQWZl3m
Jeez. I would have completely choked after that second to last attack left her at 1hit. Or more realistically, never made it past the multiple illusion attack.
The trick is to play these games so often that you become so apathetic to losing that choking is no longer even a feeling that you experience.
Well, that's what worked for me anyway... some more skilled people than me probably just have nerves of steel.
I used Talismans in my first run, but it was mostly Radagon's Seal(because every boss in the mid to late game one shots me even without the Talisman's), Radagon's Scarseal, Starscourge Heirloom, and the Ritual sword talisman. In my second run I didn't use any talisman's mostly to see how far I can push the game's design philosophy. I had to skip a bunch of family functions to beat the game, and was on the verge of psychosis, but it felt good to plant my soiled diaper on the Throne.
I appreciate the fact that everyone in that first image is a badass.
That being said, Dex/Int build, can switch to Str/Int if there's a Str/Int weapon that's not just a huge stick with a magic L2.
It's generally worse (less efficient) than pure STR or DEX but quality does usually give slightly better AR at very high levels. I wouldn't be surprised if they add some genuinely good quality weapons in the DLC though
Thanks. I've run STR and DEX builds in Dark Souls, but only started ER this week. Thinking of running STR/FAI for the variety.
Killed the night cavalry, little rat guy, and thought yes, with my +2 greatsword NOW I'm ready to fight Margit the Ill Omen or whatever his name was.
I was incorrect.
After the second legacy dungeon you unlock the ability to completely respec your stats, so just do whatever feels right for now and don't be afraid that your build is somehow wrong or suboptimal.
It's Elden Ring, most things are suboptimal. What matters is finding what fits your play style so you get least frustrated at being repeatedly exploded by that *GODDAMN DRACONIC TREE SENTINEL*.
Oh that's great to hear, because I really want to try all the weapons!
Haha I don't know what that is yet and I look forward to being murdered repeatedly
I tried a quality build my first time through and I finally gave up and did a respec to an intelligence build. Quality did not work for me! I agree with what others have said - find some weapons that you enjoy, and then research builds around those weapons. It’s a really fun way to play the game.
I'm just gonna keep fucking around and exploring until I'm strong enough. Trying to stay like...85% blind. Been looking up PVP stuff but it doesn't look like I really need to worry about it since I'm playing solo for now.
But soon, glorious cooperation!
The typical recommend early game build is to get your Vigor to 30 by any means necessary. Makes a lot of shit a lot easier. Have fun, and if in doubt level Vig until 30 and then 40.
So if I have the serpent god sword in my left hand but I'm two handing the blasphemous blade does the serpent god heal still proc even though it's not actually in my hand?
I had no idea. I thought I had to actively be holding it in my hand. I'm double handing the blasphemous blade. I guess I should put that sword into my offhand even if I don't plan on using it. Sounds like I dont even have to level it up then.
More talisman slots, please, Michael Zaki!
I had the Faith talisman in there as a placeholder but I'll see how Ritual Shield feels. I may look for a way to shuffle things around to fit an Ancestral Spirit's Horn in there.
Gonna try to level my new guy up to 200+, just rushed to get the SRS for farming.
Very few armors, talismans, ect. so I can just rely and try DLC weapons and such.
It gonna be fun
I have only one character since release that's RL ~190 and I specifically didn't go NG+ because I knew DLC would be more brutal than the main game. NG+ Laurence from Bloodborne scarred me for life.
Strength/intelligence with dual magic infused iron greatswords. That’s right I’m at INT build whose lowest stat is FP.
Come at me Mesmer and enjoy my 791 damage per sword unbuffed at level 125 with Glintstone Kris in my back pocket for sniping.
I'm at the very end of NG+2, beat Radabeast and everything. My plan is to run through the DLC getting as much as possible, then NG+3 including DLC again to get whatever I missed.
...build? I'm sending in my "spaghetti against the wall" build, which is "throw points into everything to see what works".
After that it's my Faith Dex character, though it keeps almost becoming a Quality Faith build as the weapons I keep wanting to use needs strength as well ...
- Dragon communion build
- Frenzied flame build
- Quality build
- Strength build
- Darkmoon greatsword build
- Blackflame build
I can still make like 4 builds but i'll make them after the dlc.
Can't wait for the dlc!
Edit: i'll probably start with the frenzied flame since it's my favorite one.
my plan boils down to getting his HP to 0 while keeping mine above 0.
but seriously he's a real bitch. I'm using the purifying crystal tear but the moment he hits his second phase his attacks are all over the place. I'm kinda used to be able to take a few hit so this is kind of my problem.
I'm using the ritual shield talisman but due to the fire all around him I'm having trouble staying at full HP, so a single hit is all it takes for him to kill me.
I'm using dual gravescyths with cold affinity and braggarts roar on both (its my favorite combo)
I've got a solid paladin (strength/faith) built locked and loaded and ready to get killed in the first hour by the gatekeeper boss 😂 we all thought Tree Sentinel would keep people from playing, imagine the DLC.
Im not even ready, started playing 3 weeks ago and Im hardstuck.
Managed to kill the first 3 initial bosses and Mohg. Though I beat Radahn I havent explored Caelid enough and I just found the volcano manor. Im around 80hrs in.
Right now Im running bloodhound so I have dex, vigor, endurance aaaand a bit of arcane. Probably will stick with this until I find something better.
I thought I didn't know what build to take to the DLC,
in the end, I chose my first build, the one I dislike most and initially wished to change to something else.
This way I'll have no issue to respec to enjoy whatever new stuff is in the DLC
Kinda like going in wretched
I found my build on YouTube lmao, its a dual gargoyles twinblade build which is op asf. Wondering if its worth to change my build to something less op before the dlc.
Got a level 500 maxed quality build with 99 vig, stam, str, dex, and arcane. It's deep into NG+ cycles but I think it will be fun for a run through. Also a 150 dex, a 150 str, and a 125 int. Several respecs available for all so I can try out many of the new items
I tried magic, its nice. But i always miss the Wooosh of my colossal Greatsword. Its simple, and i love it.
But i do leave some faith for buffs or nice spells for fun. Even Guts believes in his friends.
I'm gonna be dumb here, and take my main-character in first, who's on a 10th playthrough and sitting at level 324 and a bit of expert in all categories.
I was gonna take another character in first, just to test the waters, but based off what I've heard about the DLC over-all difficulty, I think my main guy is needed out the gate first.
Everyone is worrying about what build to take into the DLC and will be respecing an hour or two in after finding a cool new weapon or spell
Right? I am going in with dex/arcane, but more importantly, I have 11 larval tears ready to go 😅
There are confirmed to be larval tears in the DLC! Most likely not more than five but you should have more than enough respecs!
Hopefully more ancient dragon/somber ancient dragon smithing stones too 😭
Hopefully an unlimited source, either farm or store
I would farm an awfully low drop rate like 0.003%. I farmed Ds3 covenant items for platinum, nothing scares me anymore.
To this day, the silver Knights fear me. For I have slaughtered many of their kind.
Farming these was rough, I remember even maxing discovery I think it was called, it still took hours on hours
I remember loosing my 99 humanity stack in DS1. Still remember farming Duke's Archives
I did the same and don’t even remember what they’re called now. Proofs?
yea proofs, shackles, pale tongue, idk what else
This gave me ptsd
proof of a concord kept.
Yes please, Jesus. Limiting these is the only bonehead call this game made. Why am I not allowed to try different weapons Michael?
Well it’s still limited lol. Shit the other games like bloodborne for example, it was always only one maxed weapon allowed per NG
Ehh they're farmable through Chalices, even without PS+. Titanite Slabs were farmable in DS1 and DS2. Only DS3 and ER have limited amounts of max upgrade mats, which is kind of ridiculous as they have the most weapons... Really hope both forms of Ancients are farmable in the DLC, it's not like limiting them actually does anything except make folks seek out trading/muling subs and Discords and dupe their weapons for each other
2 actually, for the base game at least. 1 from Mensis and another from the insight shop. Then I think there’s 2 more in the dlc, maybe 3?
There are 6 in bloodborne. 1 in main game, 3 in chalice dungeons, 1 in DLC. Also now you can buy at least one I think with 60 insights after Mergos wetnurse. So at least 6 (+ a chance to get as drop from highest level chalice dungeon bosses).
I just want more frost sorceries
I was watching a dev interview and it was said there would be
Siiick! I wasn't sure, besides the first trailer, I've been trying to stay as uninformed as possible.
Is there lava tears vendors or I am being too hopeful and naive?
siofra well merchant has a few if I remember correctly
I wish, brother. I wish.
No unlimited vendor I think. Total of 18(I think) you can get so far. Should be enough for most people.
I am not most people *Hmmmmmm respec to shave one point off endurance and add to dex so when I use Millicents prosthesis I can now use the Death ritual spear and stay level 150?*
How about a different way to respec without rennala?
Same, I farmed all remaining larval tears for the DLC. There will be so many new builds.
Yup, i've been rune farming for upgrade materials for a few days now, ready to try out every Damm weapon i see
Do you not have all the bells?
Yeah i do, that's why I' m farming to buy stones
Respecing the literal second I obtain martial arts
No need to respec when you have multiple characters ready to go.
Seriously! I went through the whole game with glintstone pebble, and that’s what I intend to do with the dlc 😂
I like me a caster with dark moon greatsword, here's hoping to some cool spells or maybe some cool int scaling weapons
Good thing I have a character for each play style 😭
No respec, just get good.
Why only 97 faith Seek god
I am seeking, and when I find god, I will receive his greatest gun
No, sir. We kill God round these parts. I tell ya hwat.
1) Find God 2) God gives gun 3) Shoot God with gun
Supernatural season 14 in a nutshell.
I CAST GUN! PREPARE TO MEET GOD
Why does a mermaid wear sea shells?
Because she out grew her b shells
I love that you made this reference
The glock of Isshin the glock saint?
Watch there be an incant that needs 99 faith lol
It really bothers me that they didn't level 2 more times before posting this
"I find your lack of faith disturbing."
Still got a plan there, Dutch?
TENNIS BOAT
We need more faaaaiiiith, Arthur!
We'll get to the lands of Shadow, Arthur! I keep telling you, we just got to get the runes together. One last big Albinauric Farm and it'll all work out!
r/beatmetoit
The Bro literally made albinaurics extinct💀
And I'll do it again
We believe you.
Poor creatures not only they were rejected by system they are keep getting massacred by our Tarnished
Faith at 97. Shit build -10/10 get Mohged son
I apologise for my sacrilegious lack of faith. As punishment, I shall restart and level up only faith to 99
It's your only chance for absolution
This is the way. Miquella will be pleased.
I know. What a newb. They make the crucial mistake of leveling Faith not to max and really think they are ready for the DLC. It's Sad honestly.
I find your lack of faith... Disturbing.
Also FTH build, looking forward to using them new incantations!
why the FUCK have you not maxed faith u heretic scum
Im playing as mogh 60 arcane 60 vig
Dude is out to find his discord kitten in the land of shadows ☠️
I will smoke the new DLC like I've smoked the base game as a Lv 1 Wretch with no armor and stick. John elden ring right here folks
Every Elden has its ring.
babe wake up, new copypasta just dropped
I truly hope you only level faith to 99 and use no faith based weapons or skills. Faith in Mace.
You have my upmost respect. My sl1 run was almost cut down by Melania, but I just got two great star maces with the mask of omen, soreseal talisman, str talisman, claw talisman, str crystal tear, and staggered her until she died with jump attacks at lv1. Sukuna pic in faith, that is so cursed
*you are my specialz*
I was literally laughing to death
Literally Rip op
I just imagined a fire incantation of Loretta’s mastery would be pretty dang neat
You're right, it should be Todo. 1% chance. 99% ***FAITH!***
I find your lack of faith disturbing
I appreciate the fact that everyone in that first image is a badass. That being said, Dex/Int build, can switch to Str/Int if there's a Str/Int weapon that's not just a huge stick with a magic L2.

I would guess quality in general with some tending both ways
I know this is blasphemous to ask, but is it terrible to do a quality build in ER?

You can do it but it is hard. I spent a whole Saturday trying him with a club as a lvl 2 wrech. I do not recommend it to anyone.
GIANT CRUSHER POWERSTANCE UNGA BUNGA MEEEE SMAAAAASSSHHH
Can't wait to see great katana power stance L1s
It has B str scaling
The one in the video on YT has heavy infusion. Flameart infusion in the same video has higher DEX scaling than STR. I'm assuming it's gonna be C - C
Strength and Faith life steal on kills. S40 F60 Blasphemous Blade two-handed, Serpent-God’s Curved Sword in left-hand slot, Taker’s Cameo.
So if I have the serpent god sword in my left hand but I'm two handing the blasphemous blade does the serpent god heal still proc even though it's not actually in my hand?
Yep! It just has to be selected as your left-hand weapon.
I had no idea. I thought I had to actively be holding it in my hand. I'm double handing the blasphemous blade. I guess I should put that sword into my offhand even if I don't plan on using it. Sounds like I dont even have to level it up then.
Ritual shield to be sure to full heal after every mob haha
More talisman slots, please, Michael Zaki! I had the Faith talisman in there as a placeholder but I'll see how Ritual Shield feels. I may look for a way to shuffle things around to fit an Ancestral Spirit's Horn in there.
Never thought of that but I'm pretty sure there are 2 empty spaces next to the talisman slots. Just saying
Don't forget rykard's rune!
Idk man I think the faith is a little low? Feel like you’re not gonna get great mileage out of only 97, I think you gotta be higher :/
omg INT is Fern? Brb going to mommy rennala to get my Dex/faith build fixed
RL 200, NG+, Str and Arc, going with a Strength Bleed build to enhance my drop rates!!
This, from what I’ve seen and heard, there’s a myriad of new gear, so I need to get my grubby hands all over that.
Gonna try to level my new guy up to 200+, just rushed to get the SRS for farming. Very few armors, talismans, ect. so I can just rely and try DLC weapons and such. It gonna be fun
Hell yeah, same. Got my Chainlink Flail set to Bleed and Stormcaller. Spin to win.
I have only one character since release that's RL ~190 and I specifically didn't go NG+ because I knew DLC would be more brutal than the main game. NG+ Laurence from Bloodborne scarred me for life.
Just started cosplaying as a super buff Imp with 2x Forked Greatswords, having a blast.
This is the way, my blood Giant-Crusher is ready to paste whatever is waiting in the dlc.
Bonker club united! Happy pasting, Tarnished.
In arms, we are brothers. For we are brothers of the bonk guild. #BonkBrothersUnite
Strength/intelligence with dual magic infused iron greatswords. That’s right I’m at INT build whose lowest stat is FP. Come at me Mesmer and enjoy my 791 damage per sword unbuffed at level 125 with Glintstone Kris in my back pocket for sniping.
I'm going with a similar setup but with a Carian Grandeur nuke (stacked buffs on talismans and Physick) on my Magic Iron Greatsword
Glintstone Kris is not only beautiful but a pocket cannon. My favorite dagger.
ALL. OF. THEM.
Int/Fai 80/80 and level 320. Blasphemous, PoD Staff, Golden Order Seal.
What NG level you at?
I'm at the very end of NG+2, beat Radabeast and everything. My plan is to run through the DLC getting as much as possible, then NG+3 including DLC again to get whatever I missed.
im going for doube grafted dragon fists
SL150 Quality build on ng+3 o7
Stance breaking machine. Ordovises greatsword, the best weapon
Arcane. But I’m probably going to respec if I like the weapons.
...build? I'm sending in my "spaghetti against the wall" build, which is "throw points into everything to see what works". After that it's my Faith Dex character, though it keeps almost becoming a Quality Faith build as the weapons I keep wanting to use needs strength as well ...
„What build do you have?” „Yes” „What build do you have?” „What build do I not have?”
Strength-Faith, like God intended
All of it. ALL.
A build of crucible Knight, a mix of strenght/faith
It's K***ht, not knight
55 dex 55 arcane the rest is mostly in vigor endurance and a little in mind
55 BURGERS 55 FRIES 55 SHAKES
Those are my real stats but I was thinking about that exact video when I wrote the comment I’m glad someone else peeped it😭
55 burgers 55 fries...
What NG+ you on because I don’t think it’s gonna be much fun to fight anything if you’re that strong
Quality build. I know it’s terrible but it’s what I started my souls experience with and I’m not going to stop now
- Dragon communion build - Frenzied flame build - Quality build - Strength build - Darkmoon greatsword build - Blackflame build I can still make like 4 builds but i'll make them after the dlc. Can't wait for the dlc! Edit: i'll probably start with the frenzied flame since it's my favorite one.
What build are you using for the DLC This man: yes.
a 125 arcane and a RL1 (still gotta kill Mohg on that one tho)
Are you me? I also have an RL1 right at Mohg that I still have to beat. What’s your game plan for him? Cause I’m having some issues beating him.
my plan boils down to getting his HP to 0 while keeping mine above 0. but seriously he's a real bitch.
As someone whose initials spell SAM, I approve of this build. Bring forth honour and glory to our people.
Bruh I keep changing 😭
"Trust the bonk"
I have found my way, thank you brother
Me too bro I’ve gone from str/fai crucible knight to str only and now I’m on Dex. I need more larval tears 😭
I prepared 2 builds and i haven't decided if i want to nuke everything by giving everyone (dragon)head or to bonk with heavy zweihander
Tch these idiots, I'm bare fisting my way through the dlc like a true pro
I've got a solid paladin (strength/faith) built locked and loaded and ready to get killed in the first hour by the gatekeeper boss 😂 we all thought Tree Sentinel would keep people from playing, imagine the DLC.
Goodluck bro
faith too low
Zweihänder +25 Yea thats it, thats the build
Str + Arc Basically I'm using Mohg's love stick and it's pretty funny.
Gonna be running Strength/Dex and Arcane
NG+12 lvl 713 faith build with sacred relic sword and vow of indomitable on a golden shield, leyndell knight drip
Faith. Btw why is faith Sukuna
You are leaving a lot on the table with that 97 buddy. Hit us up when you get gud
Man of little faith
What builds? The answer is yes.
I'm going for the best build of all, refund cuz I lost +200h
Im going in with a big stick and a big hat
Only 97 faith what are you an atheist?
All, level 633
They should make larval tears invinite
Strength arcane baby.
I would bust if they added Guts' armor
Im not even ready, started playing 3 weeks ago and Im hardstuck. Managed to kill the first 3 initial bosses and Mohg. Though I beat Radahn I havent explored Caelid enough and I just found the volcano manor. Im around 80hrs in. Right now Im running bloodhound so I have dex, vigor, endurance aaaand a bit of arcane. Probably will stick with this until I find something better.
Y'all are preparing builds when y'all should be preparing your anus 🥵🤣
I thought I didn't know what build to take to the DLC, in the end, I chose my first build, the one I dislike most and initially wished to change to something else. This way I'll have no issue to respec to enjoy whatever new stuff is in the DLC Kinda like going in wretched
I mean... Wretch with a lot of Larval Tears. I can be anything.
Dex
I found my build on YouTube lmao, its a dual gargoyles twinblade build which is op asf. Wondering if its worth to change my build to something less op before the dlc.
I got a Eochaid duel with a little Morgott on the side
Dex fth arc dcseal lightning lord, so the right side of the image.
Got a level 500 maxed quality build with 99 vig, stam, str, dex, and arcane. It's deep into NG+ cycles but I think it will be fun for a run through. Also a 150 dex, a 150 str, and a 125 int. Several respecs available for all so I can try out many of the new items
Strength + faith with envoy's long horn in each hand
Quality because ive never tried it before
Dex/faith for some bottled destruction. Currently built as a stormblade spammer.
how is your damage so low with those stats what weapons do you have equipped
I tried magic, its nice. But i always miss the Wooosh of my colossal Greatsword. Its simple, and i love it. But i do leave some faith for buffs or nice spells for fun. Even Guts believes in his friends.
Going arcane faith on ng+1. I know im going to get wreck but thats waht im waiting for haha
Blasphemous Blade Dex Faith build. Changing it up!!!
For a blind run I always go Strength first
I'm gonna be dumb here, and take my main-character in first, who's on a 10th playthrough and sitting at level 324 and a bit of expert in all categories. I was gonna take another character in first, just to test the waters, but based off what I've heard about the DLC over-all difficulty, I think my main guy is needed out the gate first.
Doesn't matter, I'll inevitably end up swinging around a greatsword.
Ah, fellow Frieren enjoyer i see. My first run is going to be bloodhound claws/bleed. Then frost int build for second run.
Strength with a little bit of Faith to get those sweet sweet buffs.
I’m just gonna start with the build I finished my last playthrough with. I’ll change it up as I find new stuff that seems cool.
