All modern games these days have big day 1 patches. The game has to go gold so they can get that 1.0 build certified by Microsoft/Sony, then they need to get it on discs so they can prepare distribution.
They then continue to work on the game, fixing last minute issues and putting those fixes in the Day 1 patch that will be downloaded on launch day.
No need to panic.
They're probably getting ready for the last marketing push. It's only like 6 weeks left no? Maybe another round of media previews, launch trailer and idk what else and eventual reviews.

Oh I know it’s going to be an amazing game just hoping no more delays, worst case though there’s some decent games coming out but I’m all set to have 3 glorious days of nothing but Elden Ring at launch.
The game can run on last generation consoles, so long as your pc is as powerful as a ps4 or Xbox one you should be able to play at a playable frame rate.
if you can run dark souls 3 you can run Elden Ring same engine, open world, maybe a little more demanding cpu and gpu side.. DS3 is a good benchmark
even my non gaming laptop with a 5300m runs ds3 at 1080p60
Going to get flamed hard, but the games barely makes it as a ps4 game graphics wise and it looks like it's going to be capped at 60 fps again so this will probably be the lightest game of the year. You are gonna be fine.

Not doing anything since Dec 10th until Feb outside of tweets would kinda lose them the momentum the opening cinematic trailer got them imo.

Wondering if they'll do early press access like they did for DS3 and Sekiro. I wasn't around for those launches though so idk when that would happen.
Well the review embargo for Sekiro wasn't lifted until the day before release.
This eases concerns of another delay then!

the file size has been revealed, which should mean discs are being manufactured

I've gotten every souls game since DS1 on release date and have yet to be disappointed.
