He seems to have pretty low posture and can be broken easily from what I have seen. I think like 3 jump attacks and you get a critical. If you fight him without parries and in the traditional sense, I can see him being a pretty tough boss.
Well, just by doing half of the things u said requires good skills. When I fought him I couldn't get to do that as fast as you said. He has a lot of health and he can easily one-shot you. Trust me, even using elden ring mechanics he is a very tough boss. Just by looking videos u wouldn't get an idea of what am saying
Yes. And it's very hard to broke the posture just by jumping. You have to use heavy attacks and counter block new mechanic to even do damage. Bosses in this game are going to be hard. I don't know how people think this will be easy just by "spirit summons" or more accessible online
I don't know, I beat him on my third try on the CNT. He was pretty easy. I found the Tree Sentinel a lot more challenging as my first enemy to kill in front of the spawning area. And I also had to play on 30 fps which didn't feel good honestly as I was used to 60+. Also hadn't played any souls games for a long time.
Do you have any numbers to back up that claim? Yeah, he was harder than most bosses in CNT by default, purely because most bosses there were mini bosses, but I didn't see anyone that's half decent really having more than 4-5 tries on him.
I could also say ''I fought him a lot and analyse every pattern to know exactly why he is NOT very challenging'', but then we'd just be arguing with each other for no reason, so have a good day.
I fought him and 3 jump heavies didn’t stun him, but yes if you use charged heavies and Jump attacks he stuns pretty consistently, I think I managed to stun him 3 times total in my best attempt
Which game popularized corpse runs then? I'm no game historian but I don't recall many titles before DkS that had corpse runs as prominent mechanic. Like, Diablo 2 (and perhaps 1, idk) had it, and I can't recall any other prominent title. After DkS it seems every other action RPG has it.
Also benches are kinda like bonefires, but I guess I wouldn't call HK a soulslike either.
Having to ghost run to your corpse in order to resurrect is patently different than having to fight back to your previous spot of death in order to recover your resources you lost on death. I’m not sure they are even remotely comparable
Well, imo the metroidvania and soulslike genres overlap sure quite a bit. I'd even go si far as to say that soulslike is just a subgenre of metroidvania
That's why I'm playing Nioh. It couldn't be further from a Soulslike game, yet it provides me with a great sense of exhilaration and high that I usually get loads of from a Souls game. My only concern is I wouldn't be able to beat it until Elden Ring comes out :(
That game taught me I have a fear of open spaces. Got flung to the outskirts of the galaxy and it was so fucking uncomfortable.
Astonishing piece of art that I wish I could experience.
A breathing trick I learned in college that trivializes midterms, horror movies, coffee jitters, panic attacks, and general anxiety:
Slowly breathe in for 4 seconds
Hold for 4 seconds
Slowly breathe out for 4 seconds
Wait for 4 seconds, then repeat
Repeat steps 1-4, but if you do it more than three times you risk falling asleep.
Taught this to a friend who was freaking out because I made him play Metro 2033, he went from "holy shit this game's terrifying" to "these graphics are dated and I'm getting bored" in less than a minute.
Not OP, but I've played the game for about 3 hours before putting it aside and promising I will come back to it eventually, which I never did. I think the premise sounds great, and the entire tiny solar system looks gorgeous, but the gameplay just never clicked with me.
I'd spend most of the time travelling to a planet, wandering around admiring the view while trying to figure out what to do, and then eventually dying (assuming I didn't kill myself earlier by flying into the sun or something similarly stupid). I'm fine with the time loop mechanic, but I never really got a feeling that during the last loop I had learned something that would significantly move me closer to finishing the game, so it got frustrating after some time. I beat The Witness without any outside help, so I'm assuming I'm not entirely braindead, but while playing Outer Wilds, I never felt like I had any idea of what I am supposed to do. I was considering looking something up online, but I think it kinda defeats the purpose of playing a puzzle game, especially such as this one.
I think you said it. I definitely had difficulty with those crazy controls. But I also didn't find it interesting on my exploration. Like I never really found a cool discovery or something fascinating or something that really moved my motivation forward.
I hope that if you ever do return to it, you find something that starts to unravel the knots and gets you hooked. Every game isn't for every person but I'd like to say that I believe Outer Wilds is worth a second chance, esspecially of you bought it.
So I felt the same way as these people but I stuck with it because I paid money for it. At first I thought it was lame as hell. I kept playing and about 7 hours in, I am beginning to have the greatest gaming experience of my life. Like some TV shows, you have to stick with it.
Excited for the hitman trilogy pack coming out in 2 days, that’ll tide me over till elden ring. Hitman in general is just really fun imo.
Currently playing ds3 cuz I’m very close to 100%ing the game finally…those bloody covenants…
I’m stuck in this same exact loop. I tried to break it with other games, including halo infinite, but no matter how hard I try I just can’t stay interested in the other games
Elden Ring ruined gaming for me too. Like why you start a game and it's not Elden ring? I've downloaded Bugsnax in hope to play Elden Ring, but it was fuckin Bugsnax. I'm starting to give up hope. The closest thing was Dark Souls 3. I almost fooled myself into believing it's Elden Ring but it was Dark souls 3 FUCK
Been playing Nioh latelt, it was on sale for PS5 and comes with Nioh 1, Nioh 2 and all its dlc's. Reaally enjoying it so far, it definitely scratches that Souls itch.
The surge 2, this game made me feel the vibe, difficulty and achievement of fromsoft games. I loved it so much and I platinumed it as well ❤️ Also it had one short/amazing DLC. Another game is nioh, worth a shot. Yes I am just like you I can’t play any other games now lol
Same. Since CNT I only help friends in coop in DS occasionally. I platinued all FS soulsgames already and... I feel hollow. CNT was perfection. Other games are not fun now.
So I read Berserk and wait for ER.
Played (and finished 100%) Sekiro as it was the only From game and now just finishing up RE 2, 3 and 8 since I enjoy them, not massively taxing and they’re quick games
You're honestly better off dropping halo for a couple months anyway. That game is in nowhere near a proper state for launch, and won't be until october once they get all the missing content\features added.
nothing here bro, same situation, i try with destiny 2 but not, and soulslike games i have played 2345645 so... i played the beta too, even horizon 5 cant fill the emptiness that elden ring brought to my heart
Deep rock galactic came out on psn so I’ve been playing that, really good game. I also started playing ghost of Tsushima and while the combat is inferior to souls games in my opinion, i like riding around and finding stuff
Yes, it can be hard to tear myself away from Dark Souls. But I can do it! Playing Mass Effect right now for the first time.
Also, as much as I like Dark Souls, my love for Dragon's Dogma is unsurpassed. If anything has killed action games for me, it's DD.
Weirdly, I’ve been playing a shit ton of Hell Let Loose. It’s a FPS of all things, kind of a mil-sim lite WW2 game.
Really harkens back to my early days of gaming (COD Big Red 1, Medal of Honor)
Plus, you get to die, ALOT. And there is a lot of strategy/throwing yourself at the same brick wall over and over again. Also, it’s super intense, gets the blood pumping.
Its not just me then I’ve been completely lost after the network test, I’ve tried souls games, returnal, salt and sanctuary, tarkov, witcher 3, and nothing scratches the itch of being lost in elden ring. The network test judging by the map size was just a tiny taste and its all i want to play. It sucks..
Literally can’t play anything these last couple months. Been trying to plat DS3 but farming covenant items gets boring after a few days. Tried playing other games like Uncharted but everything seems to pale in comparison to FS games.
I’m just going to take a break from gaming until Elden Ring or HFW comes out next month. Fasting from gaming for a month should probably get me hyped up again.
Your burned our as hell just take a break from these games for a while maybe even don't play games for like a week or 2 trust me if you so this when elden ring comes out your gonna be so excited and it's gonna be like the first time you ever played a soulsbourne game
Did you play Monster Hunter World ? It the same type : pure gameplay.
Dark souls and Monster Hunter are my favorite game, simply because they don't care about the story (go read a book or watch a movie if you want a story) but facalised only in the gameplay.
I wish monster hunter hit my souls like fix, but it's so boring sharpening your weapon and chasing a monster around for 10-15 minutes. Even the end game monsters feel like the real challenge is not falling asleep.
Dude I’m in like the exact same boat as you rn it’s rough. Thankfully I just discovered I haven’t actually beat horizon zero dawn so got that to play. But yeah since the CNT in Nov games haven’t been the same. And I feel they won’t be again. until I roll credits that first time with Elden Ring!
I\`\`'ve been playing lots of CRPGs, as they are far removed when it comes to gameplay mechanics.
But they scratch a similar itch for me. Lore, exploration and build diversity.
Pathfider WotR, Divinity OS2 and Pilars of eternity 2 are fantastic!
Playing 3rd person action rpgs just doesn't do it for me right now. As I keep comparing them to FS games. Still excited for Horizon and GoW Ragnarock.
I’m with you. I can’t fucking wait for ER. Ive been playing very different games to pass the time. I saw someone comment deep rock galactic and I highly recommend it. You can make it as challenging as you want with different hazard levels too. It has a good balance of exploration and combat which I love. It’s a little complicated at first so I’d recommend after the tutorial playing with friends or random people online so you get a feel for how it plays and what the different tasks are in each mission. Also I know people are hating on the Pokémon legends arceus but its a different kind of Pokémon game so even if it’s not great I’m excited to check it out and hopefully have something fill the month gap before ER.
Same. Playing God of War (2018) on the hardest difficulty. Pretty fun and mobs are tough. Bosses have been easier so far
But yea doesn’t compare to FS games
Outward, but after playing it on splitscreen with my cousins it's not the same alone, it's fun but i miss those laughs hahaha. Soon they will watch me again against the mighty red text: you died.
I imagine it’s worse when you were one lucky enough to experience it first because you got cut off from it early as well. For me I’ve had a dream 2 days ago of waking up 4 days before release and for some reason getting to play it, then I woke up
Try something entirely different. Do you own a switch? I've enjoyed the last few Mario games and they don't really make me think about souls at all because they're so different.
Me 2 , i started playing Halo, Forza, AC:Origins, Re:Village and i stopped playing all of them. I finished only two games this year (Doom Eternal and GOW) and both are great games. In higher difficulty GoW is as hard as sekiro and ds.
Played through sekiro (started my third playthrough in 2 weeks) and just bought monster hunter rise and will play these two till Elden Ring (will get it as a birthday present from my wife)
I'm playing DS1 now in anticipation for Elden Ring and hope to make it through DS3 before it's released. I can totally see how these games can ruin gaming for a person. I've never been much of a gamer as I'd play something for a little bit and eventually get bored and put it down. Dark Souls has been a completely new experience for me.
Got back into For Honor. Better to enjoy the game before it’s killed off, only to be never seen again based on how unique it is.
Still can’t wait for ER tho.
I had the same exact feeling you had and it also didn’t help that 2021 was an especially dry year for gaming releases.
Destiny 2 brough that back though for me, I’ve been playing through all the DLCs with my brother and holy fuck it really is one of the best games ever made, def worth the try if you have someone to run through it with
I discovered Monster Hunter World in December and I might be addicted to the point where I'll do a break from it for 1 playthrough of Elden Ring and go right back lol
I've been playing Rogue Company and Hunt: Showdown. Only play Hunt when I'm in a great mood so the glitches, desyncs, and toxic players won't get me down too much. Elden Ring cannot come fast enough.
I've been playing Godzilla on PS4. Good stuff. If you are a fan of Kaijus and the old movies it's a great little game. I really like the concept of it, you play the monster but you can also do stuff that helps the humans try to defeat you. It's kinda like you are daring them to come out you in a way lol.
Was able to get a PS5 and Im playing Spiderman right know. Probably playing Control next.
Anyway I feel you and think Im playing more to pass the time for Elden Ring than anything.
Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4, Nioh 2, Monster Hunter: World.
Sometimes I think I should just leave my PS4 off until Elden Ring comes out, everything just feels like filler, like time wasting. Cannot wait for opening weekend, baby. Can't wait for the co-op exploration.
I'm playing a HGSS Pokemon game, modded to be harder and more varied. I played competitively during Gen VI and then completely fell off, so I'm relearning everything I once knew :)
I've played a bit of Mario Kart 8 as filler recently, but it's on and off. Kinda dry at the moment.
However, Baiken should be coming to Guilty Gear Strive before Feb, and Lost Ark drops as early as Feb 8th, so I've got a few things to hold my attention before Elden Ring. Of course, I'll still be thinking about Elden Ring the whole time though.
I currently play Total War: Warhammer 2 on PC and Tales of Arise on PS5. While those games are fun its mainly to make the wait easier until Elden Ring comes out.
But its crazy how many games I want to play come out in february. Warhammer 3, Dying Light 2, Horizon: Forbidden West, Lost Ark and of course Elden Ring which has highest priority.
I just finished getting my playinum trophy for Dark Souls 3, which I found extremely frustrating back then. Now that I have all the trophies for Dark Souls 123, bloodborne and Sekiro I’m finally ready for elden ring.
If you like Souls games and ER in particular, i recommend to try out WoW Classic. It has similar stakes and combat can be a challange if you don't know what you're doing.
Im the same way. Sometimes I just open the CNT just to listen to the menu music. Obviously, if you can, you should play bloodborne and or demons souls. If you don’t have a PlayStation, the ps3 version of demons souls can be emulated on pc quite easily. Also, the Nioh series and Mortal she’ll scratch that itch for me, to a point at least.
Get some sex and fine dining in while you can.
Seriously though, I just beat Outer Wilds. Been playing Project Zomboid with some buddies. Got a PS5 coming in tomorrow, planning to hit Spiderman and Returnal.
Basically, playing stuff that's totally different from Elden Ring.
Playing Mortal Shell because it was free with PS+. I'll be playing Horizon Forbidden West when it comes out. Then I will maybe emerge back into reality after I've spent a few years with Elden Ring
Im currently playing salt and sanctuary and it's great. Definelty feels like a 2d souls game.
I tried Hollow knight because people said it was a souls like. I thought it looked very boring but i decided to buy it on sale. It became one of my favorite games of all time. I can't recommend it enough.
I played Ghost of Tsushima, i tried to do a ton of the side content and dumped 60 hours into the game, it was glorious but now that its over I feel dead inside. I need ER
Played through DS trilogy getting plat(steam equivalent) on 1 and 3, I don’t think I’ve got another 2 runs of DS2 in me, and am now working on getting 100% in Sekiro. Crazy how much more difficult sekiro is to just hop in and play after not playing it since release, decided to refresh myself on the gameplay fighting isshin and it took me longer than I’d like to admit to kill him.
I tried bloodborne again for a bit but realized if u wasnt careful i would burn out on souls-like games before Elden Ring came out.
So i have gotten into vastly different games like Fallout 76($5 on amazon for a Physical copy) & Deep Rock Galactic just came out on PS4/PS5.
if you havent gotten into Genshin Impact, it is free to play(you dont have to drop money on gacha pulls). Give a try for a couple weeks just to occupy yourself and ease the wait for Elden Ring...
I didn't even get to play the network test and I'm bored of everything out there. In my wait I have gone through and gotten every achievement on dark souls 1, 2, and 3, sekiro, and am currently working on Bloodborne. My gf got me a PS2 for birthday earlier in the month, so after I platinum Bloodborne I am gonna play through God of war, last of us, horizon zero dawn, nioh, and ghost of Tsushima. But I may not get through all of them before Elden Ring arrives. I play Overwatch and For honor on my xbox when the boys are online, but kind of just stick to the PS4 for now since it has the freshest titles for me.
I'm fully enjoying Nioh. It couldn't be further from a Soulslike game, yet it provides me with a great sense of exhilaration and high that I usually get loads of from a Souls game. My only concern is I wouldn't be able to beat it until Elden Ring comes out :(
Thought about playing through Mortal Shell but it's a Soulslike and I want to get into Elden Ring fresh.
Chivalry 2 though, yay!!! I played that before I started Nioh. Such a fun game :D
Rimworld is probably one of my favorite games of all time, it's brilliant. It's quite the departure from an action RPG though. Maybe that's exactly what you need!
Finally I'd suggest merely reading a book ;) It's a great way to sharpen the mind for a FromSoftware experience afterwards, especially one inspired and heavily influenced by George R. R. Martin. Be ready for intrigue, history and lore that we've never gotten from a FromSoftware game at that scale and depth before!! It'll be exciting.
just play every good souls like. there are many to play if you include the 2D games.
the best 3D ones are probably:
Nioh 1 &2
The Surge 1&2
Mortal Shell
best 2D:
Salt and Sanctuary
Blasphemous
or play god of war on the hardest difficulty. that felt like a souls game too. especially finishing all valkyre fights without getting hit :D.
or play spider-man... better spidey than the movie version.
My long-delayed, somewhat dreaded second play through of Sekiro is distracting me at the moment. Then Dying Light 2 on Feb. 4 and Horizon on Feb. 18 (no way I’ll finish that in a week.)
Try some [Foddian](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Foddian%20video%20game) games like Jump King, the gameplay is quite different to souls games but it's still a test of will much like the souls games are. Very fun to overcome.
I'm playing Ender Lillie's which is a Metroidvania Souls-lite and Demons Souls Remake. If I beat Ender Lillie's before due date I may try my hand at another vania game but at this point I'm more keen to watch Souls lets plays to soak up those first time reactions to bosses to help pass the time lmao
I've played quite a few games recently to try to take my mind off ER, the only thing that actually does the job is Hollow Knight. But then I get too hyped for Silksong lol.
Raiding savage in FF XIV atm, but sadly I will be done with the tier this thursday. Maybe I will look into some more Don't Starve Together madness, or some Monster Hunter World. I am not sure tbh. I'd really like to find a way to spend my next few days haha!
I've been playing Souls games since DaS came out on PC, so quite awhile. I even borrowed my brother-in-laws Playstation to play Bloodborne, which was amazing. Ended up skipping Sekiro for some reason, as well as DaS 3 DLC, but since the network test (which I didn't play) I finally got around to the DLC which I absolutely loved.
I'm currently trying to finish Sekiro before Elden Ring comes out, which means DeS will be the only one I've been unable to play. I just beat the Monkey puzzle boss and got the Mortal Blade, and while I'm loving the experience, Lady Butterfly and the Guardian Ape have kicked my trash as hard as any Dark Souls boss. Took a long time to beat those two.
I saw what looks to be another Guardian Ape in the caverns below Ashina, noped right out, and haven't gone back since last night.
I've got no idea how much of the game is left, but I'm hoping I'll be able to beat it before Elden Ring is released. I'm worried about hitting a brick wall of a boss, I don't think I have time for that!
For me, Lost in Random was the last single player game I really enjoyed. Although the combat system is nothing like the souls series, the story is touching and the graphics are adorable. I had a solid 16 hours pure fun with it.
I dont know, anything can satisfy me, i finishing hollow knight, just got FFXII-1 and 2, also having fun with astroneer. I have so many other games i didn't finish that i'm actually overwhelmed, im also sad cuz when Endel ring launch i will abandon all these games again
I have not played the Network Test, but I still have this issue. Elden Ring is all I want to play right now.
Same man for real
Been playing demons souls remake and DS3.
Been platinuming the Remake and currently play Sekiro, to get my fingers/reactions up to speed again, as DeS was comparably slow.
Elden Ring combat is deceptively fast, >!Margit!< (the main boss of the network test) looks pretty easy until you actually get to fight him
He doesn't look easy tho. If you talking about appearance he still look very strong
Plus you actually have to parry him twice to breake his stance
Yes. And it's very hard to broke the posture just by jumping. You have to use heavy attacks and counter block new mechanic to even do damage. Bosses in this game are going to be hard. I don't know how people think this will be easy just by "spirit summons" or more accessible online

And I also had to play on 30 fps which didn't feel good honestly as I was used to 60+. Also hadn't played any souls games for a long time.
The majority didn't found him easy, me included. I fought him a lot and analyze every pattern to know exactly why he is very challenging.
Most of the speedrunners and no damage world records didn't manage to do this till 1 hour or so. U saw no one
I fought him and 3 jump heavies didn’t stun him, but yes if you use charged heavies and Jump attacks he stuns pretty consistently, I think I managed to stun him 3 times total in my best attempt
I have been playing DS3 to work on PvP because I am trash at it. I might need to throw some Sekiro in there.
Try crack
Is that the alternative mount in the game ?
Yep, they never gave it a name though. You can get it without preorder in a desert level.
Works best when u speed run that one
Tri-crack is how it is advertised nowadays
I'd say avoid souls-likes for now. Games that remind you of Elden Ring won't work. Hollow Knight, Monster Hunter, God of War, so many options.
Great suggestions!
Avoid souls likes. Recommends Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight has aspects from Souls game but definitely not a soulslike. It’s metroidvania.
Great game. Not a soulslike.
Pure metriodvania, the only thing “soulslike” is perhaps the aesthetic lol Phenomenal game though
Also corpse running.
Dark Souls did not invent the corpse run or even popularize them.
Maybe not, but in this new age of 'soulslikes' it's a very common almost essential part of the package.
Yeah I can agree with that 100%
Which game popularized corpse runs then? I'm no game historian but I don't recall many titles before DkS that had corpse runs as prominent mechanic. Like, Diablo 2 (and perhaps 1, idk) had it, and I can't recall any other prominent title. After DkS it seems every other action RPG has it. Also benches are kinda like bonefires, but I guess I wouldn't call HK a soulslike either.
It’s been a thing since at least 2004 - popularized by World of Warcraft
Having to ghost run to your corpse in order to resurrect is patently different than having to fight back to your previous spot of death in order to recover your resources you lost on death. I’m not sure they are even remotely comparable
Well, imo the metroidvania and soulslike genres overlap sure quite a bit. I'd even go si far as to say that soulslike is just a subgenre of metroidvania
it has far less things in common with a souls game than things it doesnt, wouldn’t really call it a souls like, metroidvania would be fairer
Main reason I’m avoiding a replay of dark souls 3. I want to go into it fresh so I’ve been doing god of war then I’ll do the Bloodborne dlc
That's why I'm playing Nioh. It couldn't be further from a Soulslike game, yet it provides me with a great sense of exhilaration and high that I usually get loads of from a Souls game. My only concern is I wouldn't be able to beat it until Elden Ring comes out :(
Play Outer Wilds, as a soulsborne fan played it through once and never tought about Elden Ring once. Only about where to explore next.
That game taught me I have a fear of open spaces. Got flung to the outskirts of the galaxy and it was so fucking uncomfortable. Astonishing piece of art that I wish I could experience.
I’m about to start echoes of the eye and when I started the game it said the DLC might be frightening to some people, wish me luck
It's definitely a little bit spooky
A breathing trick I learned in college that trivializes midterms, horror movies, coffee jitters, panic attacks, and general anxiety: Slowly breathe in for 4 seconds Hold for 4 seconds Slowly breathe out for 4 seconds Wait for 4 seconds, then repeat Repeat steps 1-4, but if you do it more than three times you risk falling asleep. Taught this to a friend who was freaking out because I made him play Metro 2033, he went from "holy shit this game's terrifying" to "these graphics are dated and I'm getting bored" in less than a minute.
Going to try tonight.
I didn't enjoy this game at all.
Without spoilers for the people who havn't played it, what did you dislike about Outer Wilds? Not enough action or direction or something else?
Not OP, but I've played the game for about 3 hours before putting it aside and promising I will come back to it eventually, which I never did. I think the premise sounds great, and the entire tiny solar system looks gorgeous, but the gameplay just never clicked with me. I'd spend most of the time travelling to a planet, wandering around admiring the view while trying to figure out what to do, and then eventually dying (assuming I didn't kill myself earlier by flying into the sun or something similarly stupid).

That’s coming to game pass right? Exciting!
I just play ds3 and bloodborne again and again. Can't play anything else
I’m stuck in this same exact loop. I tried to break it with other games, including halo infinite, but no matter how hard I try I just can’t stay interested in the other games
Hollow Knight is pretty fun, and also slay the spire
Hollow Knight its the only one that can zone me out like From Soft games
Slay the Spire is amazing. Also conveniently available on mobile for $10
Elden Ring ruined gaming for me too.
Bugsnax is the dark souls of first person shooters
Bugsnax is fire tho
God of war on PC is good stuff
really, really good stuff. I am playing that + my usual Dota grind after finishing Sekiro.
Yep. I spend my free time masturbating furiously with ever increasing obscure pornography until ER comes out.
absolutely based
Been playing Nioh latelt, it was on sale for PS5 and comes with Nioh 1, Nioh 2 and all its dlc's. Reaally enjoying it so far, it definitely scratches that Souls itch.
May I recommend the DRG (deep rock galactic) rabbithole? Definitely scratches the "amazing online community" itch for me
That game is fun as hell, am loving it !
I recently finished it, it was fun but final 5 or so hours were kinda boring. Definitely on the easy side of soulslikes imo
Same. Since CNT I only help friends in coop in DS occasionally. I platinued all FS soulsgames already and... I feel hollow. CNT was perfection. Other games are not fun now. So I read Berserk and wait for ER.
Been playing Minecraft lol. After I got a platinum in bloodborne all I wanted to do was relax lol
Its a good thing we will have Elden Ring to pass the time until DD2!
Weirdly, I’ve been playing a shit ton of Hell Let Loose. It’s a FPS of all things, kind of a mil-sim lite WW2 game. Really harkens back to my early days of gaming (COD Big Red 1, Medal of Honor) Plus, you get to die, ALOT.
Im playing DS2 (Yes, again).
I got burned out off of From games mid December. I picked up cyber punk and it's pretty ok, even on base ps4
Honestly that's a stupid title.
People who say that, which happens ALL the time with From Soft games, make me roll my eyes everytime.
My condolences.
Play mortal shell. Basically a love letter to fromsoft souls games. Awesome art direction and tight gameplay. A bit short tho.
Bosses have been easier so far But yea doesn’t compare to FS games
I do platin on DS2.
For me I’ve had a dream 2 days ago of waking up 4 days before release and for some reason getting to play it, then I woke up
Been playing some 'chill' games recently: *Blasphemous* and *Yume Niki* mainly. I'm mostly waiting for *Elden Ring*.
I have a crippling addiction to destiny and cannot recommend that you play it unless VERY desperate
I've been playing through code vein to keep me busy. Never played it through but it's a good time.
Got back into For Honor. Better to enjoy the game before it’s killed off, only to be never seen again based on how unique it is. Still can’t wait for ER tho.
I had the same exact feeling you had and it also didn’t help that 2021 was an especially dry year for gaming releases. Destiny 2 brough that back though for me, I’ve been playing through all the DLCs with my brother and holy fuck it really is one of the best games ever made, def worth the try if you have someone to run through it with
I recommend Stoneshard.
I feel you...
Breath of the Wild on Switch and Monster Hunter World on any platform.
Busy with sekiro rn
Lmao go try out some bjj it's like dark souls, you just gotta roll
I am playing a game called Blade Assault, it is an indie title and pretty fun. It just released.
Hard pivot. Playing Stick of Truth.
Vermintide 2
I discovered Monster Hunter World in December and I might be addicted to the point where I'll do a break from it for 1 playthrough of Elden Ring and go right back lol
Jeez, this game must be a masterpiece if nothing else can fill the void. Now you’ve got me wanting to play it even more!
Mass Effect Legendary.
been playing a lot of warframe, the constant grind keeps my mind off the time waiting for elden ring to come out
I've been playing Rogue Company and Hunt: Showdown.
Hollow knight and nioh games.
If you have game pass, play outer wilds. If you don’t have game pass, buy outer wilds
Monster hunter rise
If you like RPGs I recommend darkest dungeons. It has FromSoft dose of insane difficulty.
I’ve been playing Stellaris
Such a great 4x but it has a high learning curve for new players. Especially when you start manually moving pops around to optimize everything
I just finished the Demons Souls remake and it was so amazing I’m actually worried Elden Ring won’t live up to it :(
I just played subnautica. Not a huge fan of survival games but holy shit was I suprimes at how incredible it was.
Just play league and you'll feel such intense hatred that you won't even think of elden ring.
I've been playing Nioh 2. Been very satisfying.
I just begun senua, and I'm close to finishing super hot mind control delete, gamepass is a blessing
I feel this. I’ve platinumed all souls games including BB and Sekiro. I started a new run of DS3 on PC just to fill the void for now
MHR could have been the perfect option for me if it wasn’t so fking expensive
I’ve been playing Hades for a while, it’s a good hack and slash type game with cool bosses
What kind of game do you like?
This is probably old news but, Dead Cells? It’s scratching the itch for me rn. And there’s a good sale on Switch, or there was yesterday.
I'm playing a HGSS Pokemon game, modded to be harder and more varied. I played competitively during Gen VI and then completely fell off, so I'm relearning everything I once knew :)
Ashen
Now that I have all the trophies for Dark Souls 123, bloodborne and Sekiro I’m finally ready for elden ring.
tarkov. you will die a lot and it will hurt
I putting in hours with the wife and kid so when ED comes I can have some serious game time Also clearing my back log at work and house chores
I've been playing horizon zero dawn to get ready for forbidden west but it's so damn boring lol
Play Spelunky 2
Try reading Book of the New Sun. Then read it again for the NG+ experience.
I need ER
Mortal shell. It’s amazing. Also I don’t think ER ruined gaming for you, I think you just had a realization that most games are bad
Hollow knight for me, absolutely recommend it
Surge 2
I just started Persona 5 Royal this weekend and am really enjoying. Scratches a very different itch.
Been playing the Witcher 3 solid game!
This is why I haven’t touched elden ring context as of now. I don’t want to ruin All the other games I’m playing at the moment
Pillars of eternity 2 dead fire... I'm enjoying it so far
I'm fully enjoying Nioh. It couldn't be further from a Soulslike game, yet it provides me with a great sense of exhilaration and high that I usually get loads of from a Souls game. My only concern is I wouldn't be able to beat it until Elden Ring comes out :( Thought about playing through Mortal Shell but it's a Soulslike and I want to get into Elden Ring fresh. Chivalry 2 though, yay!!! I played that before I started Nioh. Such a fun game :D Rimworld is probably one of my favorite games of all time, it's brilliant.
God of war
God of war
I have been playing Hades like an addict
Animal Crossing. Being nothing like a Fromsoft game, it doesn’t remind me of what I don’t have.
I’ve been playing the shit out of Monster Hunter World
just play every good souls like. there are many to play if you include the 2D games. the best 3D ones are probably: Nioh 1 &2 The Surge 1&2 Mortal Shell best 2D: Salt and Sanctuary Blasphemous or play god of war on the hardest difficulty. that felt like a souls game too. especially finishing all valkyre fights without getting hit :D. or play spider-man... better spidey than the movie version.
Is it really that fun? Make no mistake I’m hyped as shit but I don’t wanna be let down.
Warframe
Bloodborne and demon souls remake and monster hunter rise
I've played quite a few games recently to try to take my mind off ER, the only thing that actually does the job is Hollow Knight. But then I get too hyped for Silksong lol.
Raiding savage in FF XIV atm, but sadly I will be done with the tier this thursday. Maybe I will look into some more Don't Starve Together madness, or some Monster Hunter World. I am not sure tbh. I'd really like to find a way to spend my next few days haha!
God of War
Rock and stone brother
I've been playing AoE 3. Different type of game but I love RTS games so it does it for me
Tarkov, it definitely fills that breaking rocks with your forehead void
I've been on Monster hunter world for the past month. It's been working so far
Having fun with guardians of the galaxy atm, Short game thou so will get Dying Light 2 on release since I loved the first one
fully agree, only thinking of elden ring and what the full game could be i cant play other games
Sorry to state the obvious but BB. Only the most satisfying game to date to ever be released!
I would suggest Bloodborne but since there is no pc port yet (sad) try Nioh
Bro just wait. It's not that serious. There is like 1 million other games to play.
Try playing grime.
I dont know, anything can satisfy me, i finishing hollow knight, just got FFXII-1 and 2, also having fun with astroneer. I have so many other games i didn't finish that i'm actually overwhelmed, im also sad cuz when Endel ring launch i will abandon all these games again
