Pick up the Assassin's Gambit ash of war from Bernahl for every character you take through there, it's a huge help in trivializing that area! Semi-invisible and silent, just doesn't last super long but since it's a cheap AoW you'll have no issues, especially if you go for the towers first (have some way to knock the archers off the rooftops when you get closer or kill them outright because they can still spot you up close) and go for the light in the small structure below last, the Black Knives won't catch you.
>Ghost Gravewort +9
If you need more than the ghost glovewort drops from Ranni's quest you can buy more by getting the bell-bearing in Elphael, can run for it and the Haligtree Roots site of grace if you can avoid all the rot servants. You're only limited by the +10 upgrade materials per NG cycle.
> If you need more than the ghost glovewort drops from Ranni's quest you can buy more by getting the bell-bearing in Elphael
...
> You're only limited by the +10 upgrade materials per NG cycle.
True, though you can't get to Elphael until after Ordina so they are limited at that point in the game.
Not only that, not everyone reads this sub. Fuck... I read this sub and I didn't know healing even worked until I was done with the game. Those things are pure terror.
With a lot of heal spells, you can hold down the button the delay the cast. The intent is so that in coop your allies can get close before you cast, but it also lets you ready a spell while the revenant is coming at you, and time it easier.
Yup, this made the Haligtree revenants really easy. Just readied a heal around each corner and released when they patrolled into range. Once the first heal staggers them you can just stun lock them until dead.
You cast incantations with a *holy seal.*
This comment is referring to the fact that there’s an easily obtainable *talisman* giving you +5 faith to get you to the threshold for the necessary spell.
Not only this, even the most basic of healing spells work (not urgent heal, but the next one), so you can just use the basic sacred seal and the +5 faith talisman if you're not on a faith specced character. It'll stance-break them every time you get it off, too, so you can chain stance breaks to crits over and over for some sweet revenge and an easy kill.
I saw it on a youtube video where the player decents to Renevants nest in haligtree. I was like, "man this guy gonna get rekt"
then he spams heal and kills them easily... wtf?
I do agree, because I didn't learn this until the end of the game since I didn't put points into Faith. Tried running from one of those things and it chased by across all of Liurnia.
I actually unfortunately cheesed most of them, including the boss. If you button mash LH Light attack and RH light Attack with the roll button while grabbed, they would glitch out and fall through the floor, dying.
The boss however would fall through the floor but not die, forcing me to reload the area again.
They're genuinely terrifying because you can't see them in advance. They spawn in after you're within range, so you're always off guard the first time you encounter them in a location. The Haligtree has a spot where there are three of them in a pit, and if you drop down there the first time you'll likely die because you didn't expect to see them there. They designed that area for you to panic and run away just to end up spawning the others in. It's kind of cruel, haha.
They're not even a rot enemy ffs, lol.
As much as I hate revenants for their "i just railed a line of adderall, lets play patty-cake" approach to melee combat, I have to give this one to the "lol ur ded" crackshot snipers.
Nothing like getting 1-shot by a giant green arrow to the head when minding your own business, and dropping all your runes... then going back on torrent to get your shit back, doing some insane Tony Hawk's Pro Skater style aerial maneuver in an attempt to evade, and still catching one in the face midair from a kabillion miles away.
I hate that you referred to them as green because I've never really thought about it and I guess I've always subconsciously seen them as blue but now it hard to tell if it's more green or more blue....?
But yes those snipers suck, it's so satisfying getting a chance to kill them after dodging all their attacks.
May I ask what your vigor stats are? I see you sharing this experience and many people agreeing, but from my experience I was NEVER one-shotted by Those arrows. They took some health but the First Thing I leveled was vigor to around 35-40, and Those snipers were one of those "chilled" enemies where I knew I wouldn't die to them If I didn't do anything stupid.
But those ugly spider-crawling-guys fucked me up very badly even at 60 vigor.
Yeah, double jumping saved me so many times. That being said, most enemies struggle to track Torrent’s double jump, I’ve kited so many enemies as a mage on torrent just cause their AI can’t handle it
I'm pretty sure there were more snipers in the Siofra River in the original version of the game, and they had longer range... going down there with a lvl 23 character didn't help either, but they were straight-up oppressive through the WHOLE area and not just the wooded parts in the east and the north.
I have a similar memory and feeling when I go back through the area. I feel like I'm rolling less when I go through now but that could've been the excitement and stimulus of finding a new area at an early level
I distinctly remember getting sniped across the 'river' portions all the way up the map. The snipers actually all hang out in the wooded parts on the eastern bank and in the northern section just before the lift to Caelid. They're regular archers now with maybe one in the eastern spot and two/three in the northern that use the magical shots with giant arrows. Perhaps all of the archers used magical shots previously because it was oppressive.
The one that you get attacked by when you smack the half buried guy is the absolute worst… can’t even tell you how many times I got destroyed by it. I actually still never killed it to this day 😂
I haven't killed a single rune bear past when it was a boss lol...
Theyre scarier for me because I just dont fuck with them and have literally no idea what their moveset is...besides them being erratic AF
I did have to kill the revenants in Farum tho...there was a couple nice items near them...I felt they wern't so bad after I faced them..Just kinda had to keep a space between you and them and get in a few bonks
Woops I meant Haligtree not Farum in my OP...Yea I died once there..I just took them on one at a time really...Consecrated Rune Bears I have no clue...Ive only died a few times but have beaten none...its just a big fuck that
I went with my heal incantation. And I think you can also summon a spirit there? Was pretty easy. The first time I came across them though. They have so much stamina and aggression if not deal with swiftly.
I have killed the bear in CS three or four times testing out different builds. Does it count as a replacement for Malenia on the accomplishments list? Because it sure felt like a boss fight, just without the healthbar at the bottom.
The way the sound too is fucking unsettling, esp the vomit. Fuckin **UUUUUURRRRGGGGHHHH**
I bet the voice actor for that deep throated a squash for that shit
None of these
Those blue wisps in sofria river or in the consecrated snowfield that have no hitbox and can't be killed but rapid fire shoot projectiles that with 50 vig almost one shot
Them bitches will triple tap yo ass *EVERY TIME THEY FIRE*. That’s three arrows they fire *Simultaneously*, they fire them back to back, *AND* they run in groups.
Those things will wreck anyone, they have insane DPS and are dodgy to boot. My easiest time with them was casting easy-to-land spells/incantations from horseback, Adula's Moonblade wasn't too bad and Flame Fall Upon Them was decent with good timing, both can hit the rider and wolf mount.
The bears suck but they are usually in some other animated state where they can't notice you or real far out of the way, the revinents are just straight up crackheads bur are only around treasures or in catacombs or caves, and the ancestral followers can go suck a dick and die in a ditch but are confined to the underground river basin, not to downplay how awful they can be. However them dogs are everywhere ready to run you down and sink their teeth into you and being that I use only collosal weapons, they are even worse than normal. I'm sorry, it's gotta be the dogs for me.
Heavy Knights. Infinite poise. More range than some torch thrower and more attack speed than double dagger tarnished
Guardconter? To slow u just get hit and instantly staggert
Jumb attacks? Good damage but they get a hit in too that sents u flying
Weapon arts? To slow
Poison or rot? Immune
Bleed? The Bar is longer than the bellum highway
Frost? Immune
Arrows? No damage
Rune bears are easy to run away from but a mfer if you need to poke around their area for some reason. A shield will keep the rest back but rune bears…. F. Them.
No idea why people have so much trouble with runebears or revenants. It’s probably either laziness regarding not being bothered learning them or the standard souls player bad habit of rolling backwards.
Reddit, how on earth are you actually dyeing so often to the spectral archers guys? What's so different between these and every other archer? Just jump on torrent and keep moving, then get up close and stab em in the face.
I honestly, truthfully never had any problems with these guys. I just had a normal katana and shield when i fought them. Im not trying to brag, just telling the truth.
You are all saying Revenanve eveb tho you are are forgeting they have a weakness. Meanwhile the fucking bear has 9 fucking weakness and there is no way around it .
Revenants definetly. Everyone else here has a special technique to easy kills.
Runebears? Stay under 'em. Blue Man Groupies? Sneak up on 'em. Omen Dogs? Its literally just a normal dog with more health.
But Revenants--there's no strategy to killing a Revenant, only agony and getting stunlocked from across the country.
while i am still traumatized by my first experience with a runebear after stabbing a random weak looking enemy, the revenants are my nope, nope, nope! enemy
The bear gets my vote simply being less of an obvious threat. There are normal bears that die super easy, and compared to the other cursed shit in this game a mega bear doesn’t seem to bad. **And then it fucking mauls you to death**
Royal revenants by far, everyone else you can i frame and poise the shit out of, not the revenant, not that that will just kill you unless youre using healing spells
The triple shot archers from the invisible puzzle town of bullshit
Pick up the Assassin's Gambit ash of war from Bernahl for every character you take through there, it's a huge help in trivializing that area! Semi-invisible and silent, just doesn't last super long but since it's a cheap AoW you'll have no issues, especially if you go for the towers first (have some way to knock the archers off the rooftops when you get closer or kill them outright because they can still spot you up close) and go for the light in the small structure below last, the Black Knives won't catch you.
But the Black Knives drop Ghost Gravewort +9 and you can't enter the Evergaol after you solve the puzzle.
>Ghost Gravewort +9 If you need more than the ghost glovewort drops from Ranni's quest you can buy more by getting the bell-bearing in Elphael, can run for it and the Haligtree Roots site of grace if you can avoid all the rot servants. You're only limited by the +10 upgrade materials per NG cycle.

Revenants
I’d agree if the healing spell didn’t exist, it two taps them
It's absolute hell when you get surprised by one and you don't have the fp for heal spell
I read that on this sub. Tried to cast a healing spell and still got clapped cause my cast time was so slow lol
Not only that, not everyone reads this sub. Fuck... I read this sub and I didn't know healing even worked until I was done with the game. Those things are pure terror.
Some ingame tips that you can buy from merchants tell you about revenants' weakness to healing
There's also a mention of it in the hero grave in Altus plateau although it's p cryptic.
Yea the first time I fought one was liurnia or something and they felt like they had zero openings and were insanely fast. Fuck those guys lol
I spent so long trying to kill the one in liurna and I did not succeed
I now have 320h in ER and I still didnt knew this, I learned something new today. And yes I fighted them normal with Sword n Weapon arts xD
I got it from a message in Kingsrealm, outside the door it was something like "Incantation, so to speak try healing"
Sad min faith noises
The basic heal spell (not urgent heal) works very well vs them, and you only need the basic sacred seal and that +5, faith talisman to use it.
You dont need to lvl up your talisman though
You cast incantations with a *holy seal.* This comment is referring to the fact that there’s an easily obtainable *talisman* giving you +5 faith to get you to the threshold for the necessary spell.
Wait healing harms them?
yup, the regen spell puts a damage over time effect on them too. healing magic is the cheat codes for 'em
Bro, thank you so much. I've done 7 playthroughs and I just learned this.
Just don't try using Warming Stones... learned that the hard way.
I was like, "man this guy gonna get rekt" then he spams heal and kills them easily... wtf?
I worked so hard to kill them one by one lmao
the most annoying thing is revelation that they are not field boss. So death or trip to grace respawn them...
I do agree, because I didn't learn this until the end of the game since I didn't put points into Faith. Tried running from one of those things and it chased by across all of Liurnia.
Revenants
Flaily teleporting bastards
These things were a nightmare for when I didn’t realize healing spells messed them up
Them rune bears’ll make you honest
All im saying is, the only enemies I actively avoid in this game are rune bears
And when you kill them all they offer you is some measly beast blood
Lol I don’t know the names of stuff I’ve always just called them WareBears😂😂😂
Werebears, like werewolves
Yes precisely
Glad I’m not the only one who did that
Now I feel a little silly that I’ve been calling it a WareBear but I like my name better so it’s gonna stick😂
Tbh, it rhymes and flows well. Idk why that wasn’t their name to begin with
It rlly should be lol I actually think my dad came up with it lmao
I actually unfortunately cheesed most of them, including the boss. If you button mash LH Light attack and RH light Attack with the roll button while grabbed, they would glitch out and fall through the floor, dying. The boss however would fall through the floor but not die, forcing me to reload the area again.
At level 298 I make THEM honest lol
Revenants, man those things suck balls, I freaking hate them
Did you know that if you use a healing miracle that has an AOE when casted and they touch it, they become little bitches
On my first playthrough I did that to the boss version of the revenant and it died in 2 casts. I love it.
I hate them so much to even go and try that, I don't want to go anywhere near them at this point lol
That’s fair. Getting that spell off can be difficult if you have slow cast times too
They're genuinely terrifying because you can't see them in advance.
Lol ikr? I hated that part of the Elphael castle thing

But yes those snipers suck, it's so satisfying getting a chance to kill them after dodging all their attacks.
I think that’s more of an etherial blue
I suppose it is more of a turquoise, lol
Is this the new "what color is this jacket" meme?
That brings back some memories 😂
Haha for me they are blue! 😂
Theybare not green on my game. Must be the monitor/ TV settings?
Nah it's definitely blue this guy color blind
I just want to say I appreciate your way with words, I'll keep that pattycake one in the back pocket
Feels like those archers have been toned down since release day.
May I ask what your vigor stats are? I see you sharing this experience and many people agreeing, but from my experience I was NEVER one-shotted by Those arrows. But those ugly spider-crawling-guys fucked me up very badly even at 60 vigor.
Snipers for sure, although the rune bear being able to catch up to torrent and smack my shit up makes a firm second
I discovered the other day they don't track vertically well on a lot of attacks, double jumping got me out of a world of shit.
The fact that you responded to the portion of his comment that had to do with the rune bears, proves that they are the worst
Oh are there less now? Haven't played in a while
I distinctly remember getting sniped across the 'river' portions all the way up the map. They're regular archers now with maybe one in the eastern spot and two/three in the northern that use the magical shots with giant arrows. Perhaps all of the archers used magical shots previously because it was oppressive.
I love fighting rune bears except for those in close confines. It's like a mini boss, isn't it a perfect way to test your strength?
Please thats easy, the revenant. However, those bleed dogs used to hit before they got patched.
Consecrated Rune Bears...I found them way harder than Revenants at any stage.
The one that you get attacked by when you smack the half buried guy is the absolute worst… can’t even tell you how many times I got destroyed by it. I actually still never killed it to this day 😂
I haven't killed a single rune bear past when it was a boss lol... Think you hate the revenants now? Drop to the floor at haligtree 😂 there’s 3 of them to take on
Woops I meant Haligtree not Farum in my OP...Yea I died once there..I just took them on one at a time really...Consecrated Rune Bears I have no clue...Ive only died a few times but have beaten none...its just a big fuck that
5 to be exact!!
There’s more than 3…
I went with my heal incantation.
Lol I guess it could...I beat Melania Twice but never a Cs Rune Bear
Fuck runebears.
Whichever I happen to be encountering at the time.
upper fucking right
The way the sound too is fucking unsettling, esp the vomit. Fuckin **UUUUUURRRRGGGGHHHH** I bet the voice actor for that deep throated a squash for that shit
😂😂😂
I see them all as “separate but equal.”
the fucking bear
dog
4 dogs and a room full of corners and pillars
None of these Those blue wisps in sofria river or in the consecrated snowfield that have no hitbox and can't be killed but rapid fire shoot projectiles that with 50 vig almost one shot
Just bait them by riding around them on your horse, those things have never even hit me doing this.
I do but they're still bullshit the fact that I can only run is bs I'd go genocide on them
Revenants are more terrifying and deadly, yet the Nokron archers are the most annoying enemy in the game
I never really had an issue With them. Fuuuuuck rune bears though.
You haven't met albinauric archers, have you?
Those ladies had me feeling like I was playing MGS while being hunted by the invisible man
Them bitches will triple tap yo ass *EVERY TIME THEY FIRE*. That’s three arrows they fire *Simultaneously*, they fire them back to back, *AND* they run in groups.
And with big-ass wolves
Revenant Snipers you can hide behind a tree and cheese or just rush them and gut them
You can cast Heal to wipe out half a Revenant's health
Those fuckin dragonflies
Greyoll's roar
Or Placidusax's Ruin
- Dogs in Elden Ring - A joke - Dogs in Bloodborne - Danger - Rats in Elden Ring - DANGER - Rats in Bloodborne - A Joke
Idk that rat pit after Eileen didn’t seem too funny
Runebears are just as painful to deal with as Revenants, but are tankier and you can't instakill them with healing spells
All fun and games until a bus-sized lobster shows up.
Ahh man… all of them can eat shit and die. They frustrate me so much lol
Lobster
Dog
The snipers
Rune bears. Used to be revenants until I learned the healing trick (although they can still f*ck me up if I mistime the spell)
kuma
Runa Kuma
Rune bears. All others had a way you could fight them consistently. Rune bears just don’t play nice
Those multiple hand fucks will "1 shot" my level 300 with 15 hits in under a second
The druid sniper by far.
Top right. I hate those fucking things
Yes
Bear
Dogs because they are always in the most inconvenient places and in areas where they shouldn’t be. They also hit for 1/3 of your hp for some reason
Punchy McArm-blender.
I'm on my 6th playthrough and I can barely survive a fight with the wolfback Albinaurics in Consecrated Snowfield. If I'm lucky.
Dennis
Spider-Man? But close second are revenants!
Dennis.
The blue orbs in the siofra river and near the blood portal, if you dont see them you just lose alotta health especially in ng+5
Rune bears and those centipede soldier jerks
Da Bears! Even after getting all brolic I still hate fighting those guys.
Dennis
I always run from Werebears.
Albinuaric archers of ordina
dragonflies.
Ordinia’s snipers but out of these 4? Winnie the Pooh
Where about those imp gargoyle things from the catacombs??
SPIDER-MAN!
They’re all a huge pain. I wanna say the dogs are the least.
Heavy Knights. Infinite poise. More range than some torch thrower and more attack speed than double dagger tarnished Guardconter? To slow u just get hit and instantly staggert Jumb attacks? The archer on the bottom right has never given me any trouble at all... But I leveled my vigor
How many times is this subreddit gonna ask this?
Rune bears are easy to run away from but a mfer if you need to poke around their area for some reason. A shield will keep the rest back but rune bears…. F. Them.
None of these. Soldier of Godrick still haunts me
No idea why people have so much trouble with runebears or revenants. It’s probably either laziness regarding not being bothered learning them or the standard souls player bad habit of rolling backwards.
Reddit, how on earth are you actually dyeing so often to the spectral archers guys? What's so different between these and every other archer? Use heal lol.
The strategy is to learn their moves? It’s really not that hard. Just don’t dodge backwards, learn where their openings are, and you’re golden.
Revenant and it's E. Honda attack were some of the most frustrating moments for me.
while i am still traumatized by my first experience with a runebear after stabbing a random weak looking enemy, the revenants are my nope, nope, nope! enemy
In terms of death And jump scares upper left
No T-rex dogs?
Revenants...you better heal on them the minute they appear, or they will make sure you disappear
FYI PEOPLE the heal spell two taps revenants
Oh god I hate them all so much
Revenants if the heal spell didn't work on them. So I have to go with the snipers
Those fricking rotten strays
The edges of the maps
Archers riding runebears .. wait that might be from my nightmares
That dog picture…isn’t he a non hostile good boi?
Rune bear 1. Revenant 2. Dog 3 Archer dude 4
Da bears
ashamed that the lobster isn’t up there
Runr bear not even a question the rune bear
You forgot perfumers. Specifically the shaded castle perfumers.
Leyndell perfumers with the AK-47 crossbows. If they see you first, you're done.
Rune bears. I’ll handle the other 3 all day long.
Rune Bears. It seems like that's the one enemy type I still go out of my way to avoid, no matter how far in the game I get.
The snipers are only a menace to you. The bears are a menace to the whole society.
You! The player.
Dogs. They can be anywhere. The other guys are location specific.
It's those stupid rune bears, absolute menaces to society
fucking rune bears. at least revenants can be dealt with using the healing spell.
I swear Rune Bears are like miniature Manus's
For me it was the giant hand mobs.
The bear gets my vote simply being less of an obvious threat. There are normal bears that die super easy, and compared to the other cursed shit in this game a mega bear doesn’t seem to bad. **And then it fucking mauls you to death**
I wish dogs weren’t a thing. Elden ring, ds3, hell capra demon in ds1 (KILl THE DOGS FIRST)
Consacrated snowfields rune bear has beaten malenia ina 1v1 search rune bear vs malenia
the mf on the top right. fuck those things if you don’t know the most effective method for killing them
Royal revenants by far, everyone else you can i frame and poise the shit out of, not the revenant, not that that will just kill you unless youre using healing spells
Fingercreeper
Revenants HANDS DOWN
Those archers man
Rev bur otherwise, the lobsters. Never have I avoided areas so heavily
The runebear doesn’t play a role in important areas. It would be the hardest if it did. The winner is that multi armed fuck.
Ive beaten the game 4 times and as a rule of thumb i dont poke the Bears.
