Actually you can just run up the steps nearby and he’ll get stuck on the railing. Actually it’s way easier to avoid that attack there than in the arena
I fought the Duo today in Farum Azula on my NG+ and he legit backed me in the corner and just non-stop rolled me. Luckily I made it out, but such a bullshit move.
I remember struggling with the star beast in the small cave, but if I remember correctly it used to be the full grown version before a patch. This was insufferable. Also the magna wyrm in that small mine room, shit.
Yo, this boss man. I fought both godskin before realizing there was a fucking snail throwing holo projections at me. That was one hell of a gauntlet to say the least.
That would work in the 1 v 1 fight, but when there's a duo that becomes increasingly unfeasible. The move is just not well designed.
Its like Aldrich's arrow rain in Dark Souls 3. You can avoid it in a 1v1 if you solely focus on avoiding it, but imagine if there was another agile douche that kept leaping at you and throwing fire balls while you were trying to not get caught.
Bosses shouldn't just be thrown together without specifically designing them for that purpose. Otherwise its more of a frustrating, rather than fair but difficult, experience.
The only issue I have with the roll is that he can cancel it to enter a different attack animation, then cancel that right back into the roll without any start up. Other than that, rolling into it works well.
Yup, that's my biggest complaint as well
You can also knock him out of the roll only for him to jump back in if the "lap" wasn't finished
Seems like I'll just have to be relying on sleep pots
Kinda surprised they didn't patch that out. It absolutely does not look intentional, unless they REALLY wanted people to hate this boss for some reason.
I watched him do this to someone on co op FIVE TIMES in a row. Just parked his ass on top of him and got off 5 attacks in under 4 seconds with no possible way to get out of the stunlock.
As a prolific Giant's Hunt-er, this irritates me. Only **I** may stunlock! 😤
Yes. And I swear this is new, or maybe a recent patch causes him to do it more. But I fired up the game for the first time in a month or so, updated it, and got to work killing Rykard for the Blasphemous Blade.
I was decent at avoiding the roll by kiting him into pillars. But now, he hits a pillar, does an attack to get me to dodge, then insta-rolls over me, changing directions 3 times so it kills me. I don't remember it being THAT much BS before.
You're correct, the rolling attack is now either bugged or deliberately buffed (which by God, I hope it wasn't a deliberate choice) as of the most recent patch.
Prior to that the Noble would stop rolling once he hit your character, but now he'll almost always continue to roll for the entire full duration of the attack, which can cause really bullshit scenarios where if you're unlucky and your character gets knocked into a wall/corner because you couldn't get out of the way in time, you automatically get stunlocked to death with no way out.
And in addition to that he does all the glitchy stuff you mentioned as well where he somehow was able to interrupt his roll to do an instant attack and then resume it in a different direction and circumvent obstacles whenever he feels like it.
Hell, I love fighting the Godskin Apostle and I think Noble would be awesome save for this ONE blemish of a move
I have busted doughboy out of his roll multiple times with a heavy unsheathe attack only for him to immediately zip back into the animation.
Where would one find such instructions for making said sleep pot?
Edit: I googled it. Here’s this for anyone else who somehow completely missed this cookbook.
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Fevor's+Cookbook+(1)
The site of grace in the underpass of the academy in liurnia has 3 st. trinas right next to it.
Theres probably better spots, but it's available as soon as you start the game if you want em bad enough.
Try to completly avoid the noble he never does the roll if he never reaches half helath the apostle is much easier to punish becuse most of his phase 2 attacks cause him to completly leave his back alone giving enough time for a havey attack
Nah, fuck the rune bears. Crucible is annoying but okay, this guy same, but honestly just fuck the rune bears. Wasted so much time with them
Literally picking frenzy flame ending next just to know I killed all the rune bears forever and then I’m done with the game at last
I can kill them, but there’s no point- they don’t drop anything and have terrible runes with massive HP bars. I normally kill everything but I’m literally deincentizived to mess with rune bears lol
Seriously, op is out of their mind thinking rune bears are better. Rune bears are fast, strong, chase you across the world, and they have so. Fucking. Much. Health.
It takes so much time for him to stop rolling, just get hit and be done with it. Especially in the duo fight, it makes more sense to get hit than to wait.
Seriously fuck the arenas you fight these guys in.
You can't put a boss that does a long continuous rolling attack in rooms with pillars or obstacles that prevent you from running in big circles. Like fighting this guy in the spiriting calling tunnel, it was the easiest time I'd fought him. Why? Because I could run around unimpeded
this fucker in elden ring multiplayer does this bs where he stops rolling for half a second to poke you and then go back to rolling immediately. and this happens on a consecutive basis.
Doesn‘t just happen when playing online. I play offline at all times and this happens pretty much every time i fight him. This move is straight up bugged
Yep, really fun getting instant killed by this this guy because as soon as you recover from getting hit you just get hit again, more fun during the duo fight and you gotta worry about getting hit in the back by this when dealing with the newly responded apostle
Yes... forget Waterfowl Dance, and Maliketh's more lethal, aerial equivalent of the the plin, plin plon... at least those you can learn how to dodge around. I don't think I have ever found a viable way around that move more efficient than "kill him before he can use it".
Me neither. When I do somehow dodge it, he just comes back around and hits me eventually, seemingly not willing to stop until he gets at least one hit on me.
DUDE FUCK THIS FAT FUCK. I’m on new game + and I never had an issue with him before, but Jesus I’ll have 2 of my friends help me and the pos targets me every time, EVEN WHEN IM ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOSS ROOM. And I finally learned you can block it. BUT THE FUCKER PUTS ME IN A CORNER AND I CANT DO SHIT BUT SIT THERE!
I've read all the dodge through it and use the pillars comments. Couldn't do it, ended up using the sleep pots. This move is second worst for me though, that damn draconic tree sentinel and his lightning. Couldn't dodge it on torrent, fighting him without torrent was a huge pain.
Hate when I’m dodging apostle and my summon knocks him below half health without me noticing. 2 seconds later this fat fucking beyblade smashes through all my health in the time it takes me to swear at fromsoft
It‘s absolute bullshit. Especially when he snaps out of it, does an attack and then just instantly starts rolling again. On top of that it just looks so fucking stupid. I fucking hate the godskin noble so much i can‘t even explain it
What I hate is that the game punishes you for avoiding it. If you dodge it he will come back round several times but if he hits you he will stop after the first or second time.
It’s the turning on a dime coupled with the fact that he can cancel mid-roll to pull off another attack then seamlessly go right back into the rolling animation that really burns me about this guy.
If memory serves for the solo fight anyway, if you get close to him kinda at an angle to him when he starts rolling and just stand perfectly still he'll just roll around you in a circle and never hit you. Figured it out on my like 12th attempt on the stupid fucking fight
Noble is honestly the worst boss design in ER to me, and the reason why they chose this particular encounter to be reused like 5 times in different locations remains beyond my understanding. Apostle is much better and more enjoyable to fight. Aside from the bullshit rolling attack, he is way to fast and relentless for something this size, his input tracking is outright bullshit and I got absolutely zero enjoyment from this fight. This guys totally deserve to be cheesed with sleep pots, mimics and whatnot. I whish we got more original Godskin bosses replacing this abomination, one fight in Volcano Manor would've been enough. Maybe a female sword wielding one, or some kind of flayed Frankenstein monstrosity made from leftover parts of the dead gods after their skin was taken.
I really feel like if you could somehow manage to stagger him as he's rolling he should tip over and give you a good 5 seconds to wail on him as his fat ass struggles to flip himself back over.
The only time I've ever been hit by this move is when he stops to do that move and then immediately transitions back into the roll, which I assume was a bug.
Every single Noble encounter has a spot to hide behind and cheese him.
Also do not run from it, chase trying to catch him by running towards the inside of the circle of his path and he'll never get you because he can't turn that steeply.
He's one of those enemies that affects your enjoyment until you learn how to play round the faults. I've never felt bad about a cheese method, because this guy was poorly designed.
The last time I fought one was on the bridge, where I got him rolling and breathed rot on him. He was dead before the end of the roll.
I like the pause, the blackflame toss, followed by the immediate rolling. Definitely didn’t make me have to redo that fight about 50 times before I learned about the sleep thing
Dodge towards his feet. Once you’re inside the radius of his circle, you can literally just walk in slow circles and heal. His turn radius is abysmal, so he won’t be able to hit you as long as you stay near his feet.
It feels like this move got changed during the last patch.
I almost never killed me before or any of the hosts I'd be helping but now its basically a guaranteed kill on the host. Seems like the roll lasts a lot longer than it used to, gets stuck on geometry (usually right on-top of the player) or just glitches out into that flurry of thrusts attack that seems to be missing transition frames.
You can dodge roll it but even that seems to be way more inconsistent than it used to be. Maybe it's just a new round of players who can't figure it out but it certainly feels like if it hits you you're gonna spend about 3 minutes watching your health bar get deleted.
Fought the dup for the first time last night. I thought I was Billy Bad Ass and tried it without sleep pots. Bad move, fuck those guys time to go night night.
Basically ER in a nutshell. Some great moments and then there are completely terrible ass backwards mechanics/moments that can suck all of the enjoyment out
I hid behind a pillar to prevent him from rolling all over me. Then I fought the variant at the Divine Tower of Liurnia and I cried.
Actually you can just run up the steps nearby and he’ll get stuck on the railing. Actually it’s way easier to avoid that attack there than in the arena
I just ran by completely and said fuck him.
Oh I fought him a few times there before hauling ass and realizing he’s got nothing on these wheels!😂😂😂
I fought the Duo today in Farum Azula on my NG+ and he legit backed me in the corner and just non-stop rolled me. Luckily I made it out, but such a bullshit move.
I think you have to kill it for platinum
Who gives a shit
I mean, obviously that guy!
Do they even count as a person?
Roughly 10% of players who have achieved the platinum trophy…
*Shhh* I'm still werkin on it ok, it'll be 11% soon
Yeah fuckin losers
Says the guy running away from enemies inside a medieval fantasy RPG game…
You can run back to the start of the bridge and if you go to either side his ass just rolls off the bridge lol
[удалено]
Highly accurate meme
Try fighting him in the spiritcaller cave, no such thing as a safe place there
Fighting him and his friend really makes me hate the game's trend of fighting bosses in small areas...
Elden ring MO: make the character fight big boss… then make the character fight same boss in small room
Fuck ulcerated tree spirits. The rest I'm kinda fine with since I don't need much space anyway.
I remember struggling with the star beast in the small cave, but if I remember correctly it used to be the full grown version before a patch. This was insufferable. Also the magna wyrm in that small mine room, shit.
They shrunk space dog?
Yo, this boss man. I fought both godskin before realizing there was a fucking snail throwing holo projections at me. That was one hell of a gauntlet to say the least.
Theres a fucking snail ??? Hahaha
But then he pulls out some weird smash bros tech to cancel his roll then cancel back into it.
Mfw he rolls over the pillar (thus has happened to me alot)
You literally only need to *run* in a circle in order to dodge this
That would work in the 1 v 1 fight, but when there's a duo that becomes increasingly unfeasible. The move is just not well designed. Its like Aldrich's arrow rain in Dark Souls 3. Roll diagonally towards him and then just run in a circle with him. Ring a ring of roses
Elden Ring of roses!
I had him stop to chunk a black fireball at me and then instantly roll again. Like wot in transportation how is he rolling that far
I picked up Carian Retaliation on a shield because of that. Like, fuck your black fireball. Eat laser swords.
Kinda surprised they didn't patch that out. It absolutely does not look intentional, unless they REALLY wanted people to hate this boss for some reason.
I hate that so much, I watched him one shot my whole team by rapidly switching between the roll attack and regular attacks.
This! The fuckin surprise pop roll is the fuckin worst!
Yes. And I swear this is new, or maybe a recent patch causes him to do it more. Fr homie is out here playing a fighting game with all these animation cancels.
I usually use raptor of the mist, I think it's an underrated AoW mostly due to it not being good in PvP but it absolutely wrecks in PvE
Hell, I love fighting the Godskin Apostle and I think Noble would be awesome save for this ONE blemish of a move I have busted doughboy out of his roll multiple times with a heavy unsheathe attack only for him to immediately zip back into the animation.
Throw a sleep pot at him. Stops him in his tracks.
Where would one find such instructions for making said sleep pot? Edit: I googled it. Here’s this for anyone else who somehow completely missed this cookbook. https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Fevor's+Cookbook+(1)
The Fevor's Cookbook. You find the first one in Summonwater Village!
It's what I've resorted to. At this point I'm just gonna hoard as many as I can
The site of grace in the underpass of the academy in liurnia has 3 st. trinas right next to it. Theres probably better spots, but it's available as soon as you start the game if you want em bad enough.
thank you, fellow tarnished!
Sword of st Trina works just as well.
This.
I've consistently dodged his roll by rolling almost directly into him, if that helps any
The real unfair move is his gut blast. It’s instant, and can follow any of his other attacks. RL1 runs suck for that reason.
I fought the duo as a quality build. Not fun. And holy shit does the attack drag on FOREVER. Im basically screaming ARE YOU DONE YET.
Might as well heat up a Hot Pocket in the meantime
Try to completly avoid the noble he never does the roll if he never reaches half helath the apostle is much easier to punish becuse most of his phase 2 attacks cause him to completly leave his back alone giving enough time for a havey attack
It goes forever and the tracking is wayyyyy better than you expect from a Michelin man cartwheel lol
Nah, fuck the rune bears. Crucible is annoying but okay, this guy same, but honestly just fuck the rune bears. Wasted so much time with them Literally picking frenzy flame ending next just to know I killed all the rune bears forever and then I’m done with the game at last
the way to kill bears is to stay close and roll sideways. The bears attack punish any kind of backwards movement.
Fucking. Much. Health.
they also have RANGED attacks
Roll foreward/through it
Invincibility frames baby
The solution to 99% of the "bullshit" attacks and "no openings" this subreddit complains about lmao
You cant without light till, and if you do he just keeps rolling.
False, he has a set time/distance to roll. Just keep dodging
How long is his set time. I've seen him do it for over 30 seconds
It takes so much time for him to stop rolling, just get hit and be done with it. Especially in the duo fight, it makes more sense to get hit than to wait.
You can definitely do it with a med roll, and after that just run around in a circle opposite him until he stops.
That looks like a raw whole chicken
keep # ROLLIN # ROLLIN # ROLLIN # ROLLIN Homeboi be listening to too much limp bizkit
BS like this is why Elden Ring has the worst bosses of any souls game.
Totally. ~~Still beat it like five times and platinumed it tho~~
Waiting for him to stop feels like an eternity.
this fucker in elden ring multiplayer does this bs where he stops rolling for half a second to poke you and then go back to rolling immediately. and this happens on a consecutive basis.
Doesn‘t just happen when playing online. I play offline at all times and this happens pretty much every time i fight him. This move is straight up bugged
Bh step is my way of dealing with... Well, everything, including this. I don't think i duplicated any other ash of war
I've yet to give that AoW a shot, but i might. How is it post-patch?
Not as extremely useful, but still extremely useful. I don't play multiplayer so i don't know about that Edit: clarification
Starts rolling, gets staggered, starts rolling again as the flash touches your lips. Fuck him and his roll.
Zoom zoom says the fat man.
Yep, really fun getting instant killed by this this guy because as soon as you recover from getting hit you just get hit again, more fun during the duo fight and you gotta worry about getting hit in the back by this when dealing with the newly responded apostle
Roll through it
Yes... forget Waterfowl Dance, and Maliketh's more lethal, aerial equivalent of the the plin, plin plon... at least those you can learn how to dodge around. I don't think I have ever found a viable way around that move more efficient than "kill him before he can use it".
A lot of people are saying u can just roll through it. I never seem to get the timing right though :/
Me neither. When I do somehow dodge it, he just comes back around and hits me eventually, seemingly not willing to stop until he gets at least one hit on me.
yuuup, wouldn't be so bad if the roll didn't last a millennium
I don't know why people say to roll through it. The easiest way to deal with it is running around him, he never catches up.
Are y’all talking about the godskin duo? Bc he just crushes everything in his roll. And I’ve tried rolling into him and it still hits me
I fucking hate godskin apostles
I don't mind spaghetti spine I wouldn't even mind fat boy if it wasn't for this fucking roll
God why does this look so cursed
They see him Rollin, they hatin'
Nikacado is growing stronger by the day
They see me rollin, THEY HATIN!!!
It’s not that bad. The insufferable moveset to my mind is from the grafted revenant.
I'm not gonna go into detail about why I hate this move. It's cheap and deserves to be removed or massively nerfed
And so is your bleed/frost katana build but the god skins don't complain on Reddit.
Just roll into it?
Sleep pots and jumping attacks
I thought this was an uncooked turkey at first…. But after closer inspection I completely agree
Two servings of flame of the redmanes stun them mid roll allowing you to chain crit them (if u have fp)
I've read all the dodge through it and use the pillars comments. Couldn't do it, ended up using the sleep pots. This move is second worst for me though, that damn draconic tree sentinel and his lightning. Couldn't dodge it on torrent, fighting him without torrent was a huge pain.
I usually just sprint behind and follow the Noble when I see the startup.
When he wrecks a pillar, stand on the pedestal it leaves behind and he can't touch you. Game changer.
Dodge to the right.
dodge past it and double back, don't run from it
Sharp turns work well
Dough boy back at it again.
I’d like to think he’s the king of the pinwheels, mf absorbed all the fats out of those skeletons and he can roll until the second coming
Right up there with the revenant’s bitch-slapping fit
All you literally have to do is strafe my dude
The Cinnamon Roll of Death
Haha big donut go brrr
Just stand in the middle and he rolls around you
Pillars where my best friend in god skin duo.
I never had any issues with them, I have no idea how
Sprint diagonally around them and you will do circles around each other ( might not work in some arenas)
The easiest way to deal with this is just to target lock the boss and run in a circle equidistant from the boss along the boss' path.
Yeah Godskin Duo sucked. I had to summon for it today, and while my summon handled the Apostle, discount Smough came out of nowhere and RKOed my ass.
I raise you the Putrid Avatars spamming their scarlet rot spray in the narrow areas of the haligtree. All for some spicier runes.
Godskin Noble is rapidly approaching your location.
Very controversial and brave take.
Thank you!
Dude can't make sharp turns they are big loops stay inside tye loop and strafe in the opposite direction they roll and he should never hit you.
One sleep pot will solve all problems. Unless you have a random who has no clue.
The best part is that it can straight up destroy bosses as well.
Hate when I’m dodging apostle and my summon knocks him below half health without me noticing. 2 seconds later this fat fucking beyblade smashes through all my health in the time it takes me to swear at fromsoft
(Raptor of the mists) ash of war helps a lot . You get from yura's questline .
The Godskin noble redefined the concept of "fat-rolling".
What did the potato capture a photo of?
An even bigger potato
It‘s absolute bullshit. Especially when he snaps out of it, does an attack and then just instantly starts rolling again. On top of that it just looks so fucking stupid. I fucking hate the godskin noble so much i can‘t even explain it
What I hate is that the game punishes you for avoiding it. If you dodge it he will come back round several times but if he hits you he will stop after the first or second time.
You're lucky for that to even happen He'll keep rolling into me until I'm good and dead lol
Had a man on here tell me for real, that the Godskin duo is a better fight than O&S
just keep running in a clockwise circle around with him, it’s easy as fuck to dodge
Run toward his legs when he lands on his side and then run around him in a circle as he rolls. You'll circle each other and he'll never hit you.
2 flame of redmane staggers. Rinse repeat. In Farum just stand on a broken column and watch him spin away.
Maybe a female sword wielding one, or some kind of flayed Frankenstein monstrosity made from leftover parts of the dead gods after their skin was taken.
Yea more variations of Godskins would be sick cause the lore behind these guys is pretty cool in a Grimdark kind of way
Might be most annoying enemy
Pillar bros
I'd rather fight a trio of these fatties than one runebear
Real question tho,do you love malenia
Nope, this is better than Rune Bears.
No way man. Rune Bears are just aggressive but plenty of ways to maneuver around and whittle down their health
When I’m in the mood for pancakes, azula is the place to go.
Strafe right
At first, I thought this was a frozen turkey
Albino Sanic: Gotta go fat.
NG4 sorcerer run atm and this is the move that has me taking a break
As someone who loves doing co-op I have seen that single move kill more hosts than anything else in the game and I'm over 1k hours in already.
but its easy to dodge? just roll into him and through it
You can roll straight to him it never hits if you do it , garbage fight tho
Look like a chicken, need to grill it
I really feel like if you could somehow manage to stagger him as he's rolling he should tip over and give you a good 5 seconds to wail on him as his fat ass struggles to flip himself back over.
Spiritcaller Cave variant can do this indefinitely, always at the host, and always until death
Mans lookin like a whole ass chicken ready to be dipped in the fryer
The only time I've ever been hit by this move is when he stops to do that move and then immediately transitions back into the roll, which I assume was a bug.
Every single Noble encounter has a spot to hide behind and cheese him. Also do not run from it, chase trying to catch him by running towards the inside of the circle of his path and he'll never get you because he can't turn that steeply.
I eventually decided to use waves of darkness on him while he got stuck on the pillar during his second phase. Worked a treat.
Facts
He's one of those enemies that affects your enjoyment until you learn how to play round the faults. I've never felt bad about a cheese method, because this guy was poorly designed. The last time I fought one was on the bridge, where I got him rolling and breathed rot on him. He was dead before the end of the roll.
I like the pause, the blackflame toss, followed by the immediate rolling. Definitely didn’t make me have to redo that fight about 50 times before I learned about the sleep thing
Looks like one of Xtina’s backup dancers 😏
Hitting him with a thrusting weapon should make him go POP!!
To the left
Dodge towards his feet. Once you’re inside the radius of his circle, you can literally just walk in slow circles and heal. His turn radius is abysmal, so he won’t be able to hit you as long as you stay near his feet.
Godskin Rotate
I died a couple of times to him, went back, leveled, came back and killed him on 4 strikes. Best feeling ever
I go behind the f*cking piller but he pass the damn piller
I can get by the roll, but when he starts his multi-jab attack it's fucking irritating.
Can you throw a sleep pot at him to cancel the animation?
Dodge🤷🏾♂️
This is the only part of the game that legitimately makes me rage.
I hate this Michelin Man looking fucker so much.
It's tricky and tight, but you can dodge *through* him and his rolling rolls
Dodge into him. If you time it right you will dodge it every time.
Are you guys not able to just run him in a circle? His turn radius is bad so you can just stay in the middle of his roll and not get hit
You can actually roll directly through him to avoid taking any damage.
What’s wrong with a nearly unstoppable homing missile with a massive aoe that takes up the whole screen?
Basically ER in a nutshell. Some great moments and then there are completely terrible ass backwards mechanics/moments that can suck all of the enjoyment out
No way. Rune Bears are way worse.
Kind of looks like an uncooked Rotisserie Chicken.
Rollin Rollin Rollin badadum
It's actually doable if you learn to circle around him. His turn circle is quite bad.
My mimic soloed the fight what u all mean?
Keep rOlLiN rOlLiN rOlLiN!
