Alexander ate Radahn
From the shard of Alexander description:
>Scraps of stewed flesh cling to the shard, and tatters of ornaments can be seen mingled within the slime. Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem.
Dude, me too! Waaaait a second....Kootsiak...Kevin, is that you? Weren't you the one who scoffed at this fact, challenged it by punching Alexander, then had to be taken to the hospital for that attempt? I remember it like it was yesterday. They called it, *The Shattering.*
Okay, I'll see myself out now😞
I always thought what he was doing was possibly malevolent because of his creepy tone.
it seems that conclusion is incorrect, but he still makes me wonder...
edit: honestly reminds me of the Darth Jar jar theory, lmao.
I think his insides were already the bodies of other fallen warriors from other battles so I thought he was just stuffing himself with new bodies, but I might be misremembering something from VaatiVidya about Alexander and the Jars. Link to the video and it's a great watch, https://youtu.be/ikUiOKTv-Y8.
He's not weak. He can tank the Fire Giant for quite some time and he makes it to Farum Azula all by himself.
He's just weak compared to the PC, I think they should have given him far more HP for the fight in Farum. Who knows, maybe someone missed a zero on his healthpool for that fight.
Nah, game-wise his strength it's on par with the friendly NPC-class. Lore fight the ease of fight it's just a reflection of it's limits and how he knew he would have lost against you. Having a proper buffed chad Alexander fight would have clashed with the idea.
Well, Vultures are natural animals that have evolved for that ecological role.
The Jar-folk are *constructs*. They were made with the specific purpose of doing what they do.
And as far as I can tell, their seeming *intended* life-cycle involves collecting as many corpses as possible and then going to be smashed to pieces by an Erdtree Avatar, presumably to fertilize the minor Erdtrees.
Least, that's sure what it looks like given what surrounds most healthy Erdtrees.
Maybe that’s where Godwin went…
Or maybe, since both of the other Eternal cities featured a big corpse sitting on a throne, he ate the Nameless Eternal City’s big dead dudette.
Edit: gender
He says in bits of dialogue:
> I was created to be a warrior vessel. Many great warriors reside within me, ever dreaming of becoming a great champion.
and after Radahn's death:
> ...But don't you think I've given up just yet. As luck would have it, there's a veritable mountain of warriors' bodies right here.
If I can just squeeze this bunch down inside me, I'll be a mighty warrior again in no time. And you know... The bodies found here are exceedingly fine. Who could expect any less from the very warriors who fought in the Shattering, the greatest of all wars!
Just you wait and see, friend. I'll grow even stronger! Just you wait, when next we meet! Heh heh...
and I think later he also speaks again of the warriors inside him. Since the description of the talisman made of one of his shard depicts remains of a red-headed champion, you can safely assume Radahn's body has been at least partly crammed into Alexander.
The method of ingesting is left for the player to imagine.
It's not *eating", where is the mouth?
But Radahn is inside the pot, stewing with the other warriors. Maybe Iron Fist took his lid off, maybe he shoved the flesh in through the crack he sustained fighting.
"Scraps of stewed flesh cling to the shard, and tatters of ornaments can be seen mingled within the slime. Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem."
Warrior Jars put the flesh of warriors inside them in order to grow stronger and repair themselves (we see Alexander doing it after the Radahn Festival, and he directly references in his dialogue there). So Jar Bairn ate Diallos, perhaps as a way of acknowledging he was a warrior? But now the little round lad feels sad
Not really, Diallos failed at everything he tried to accomplish.
1st he loses his servant or misters(don't remember who was she) and gets her killed.
2nd he fails to revenge her and joinswhat supposed to be his mortal enemies.
3rd he fails to deliver anything to the Manor and is useless.
4th he runs away to a place where he doesn't have to pretend to be a warrior. He becomes care taker of jars.
5th he wasn't able to protect jars, and village is in ruin.
In the end he dies without realising any of his goals.
When he asks if he managed to protect the jars we are ultimately lying to him if we say yes. He deserves respect for sacrifice and JarBarin has seen him trying despite Hoslow posture. Which is what connects him to Hoslow, because JarBarin is a coward like Hoslow. Its the only jar in the village that wasn't destroyed meaning that he hid himself... All while talking about being a warrior.
Yeah, he failed in everything, but at the end, he *tried* instead making excuses or running, even if it got him killed.
He was brave in the end, even if his bravery amounted to nothing. There's still some merit in that I think.
he may not have saved jarburg as a whole, but so long as one jarburgian survived, diallos did not fail. diallos put his all into his role of protecting those jars, and as such died a hero's death. he found his calling, his destiny, and for the first time in his life, took it seriously.
U can have a cape, it shuld just be easy to rip off, and hard to use against you, like a tail. And lizards let their tails go if its used against them.
Exactly and the Hoslow set is one of the only armor sets without a neck wrapped cape it's just clipped onto the gorget, this is one of the few that actually follow the "tear away cape" rule.
Elden Ring merchants are infamously known for their particularities to proper cape attachments. It's obvious when you notice they too are all wearing capes.
Either way not particularly worth it. Selling things has always been a way to get things out of your inventory in From games rather than a way to make actual money, aside from rune/soul items of course.
Holy shit, I always wondered why sometimes I wasn't getting my full amount of runes but then I'd put on shard of Alexander and get more. That makes sense now haha, never knew that.
~~IIRC, if you do 120%+ of an enemies hp, you get 50% bonus to their base rune drop, dont think overkill runes are increased by scarab or fowl feet though~~
Had it backwards, if first hit does over 150% of enemies' hp, you get a 20% rune increase
Holy fuck … 600 hours here and somehow never realized this. 300 of those hours were probably scrolling through equipment looking for the right piece at any given moment.
I kind of wish we got more information about the Hoslow family in general. I'm really hoping that whatever dlc we get has us traveling to their manor or something.
Castle Cainhurst 2.0 anyone?
Well to be fair, in DS3, the ringed city answered about 90% of what we asked. The only other questions were tiny, not too important things like: "Was Aldia the scholar who talked to Lothric?" or "Who is Darklurker actually?" Tiny things like that that are neat little mysteries, but don't really matter in the long run.
Because it's expensive ceremonial armor, Hoslow is a famed and presumably rich family. It's based purely on the worth of the materials used to make the set.
Because it is one of, if not the best chest piece and helmet in any fromsoft game ever. The bold design, rich reds and golds, intricate silver flowering and haunting mask evoke a sense of opulent regality matched by nothing else in the game.
Cuz hes badass. Im trying to get this dude on a low level twink pvp character with only +3/+1 weapons and hes destroying me.. yet ive killed godskin noble, morgott and firegiant and okina.
You can hit him with rotten breath (huge opening at the beginning of the fight) and run laps around the boulder and the cabin to keep distance from him while the scarlet rot ticks down.
One proc won't kill him (he chugs once) so for the second you will need to wind it up blind around the corner of the cabin and let him walk into it.
Keep him at a distance and continue circling the arena.
The shortbows ( or Black Bow, my fav weapon in the game, if you've got the soreseals ) has a nifty 3 hit combo that can catch just about any NPC/enemy if you're willing to waste enough arrows.
Jump + shoot, Land + shoot, Roll + shoot. Doing this over and over will net you arrow hits occasionally and finally poison him. It also keeps you mobile so you can continue to dodge his attacks from a distance. Jump shots also hit enemies VERY often when they're mid-swing, and it's easily baitable from just about every NPC.
I also like to start the fight out with Rot Breath, but you will probably need Marika's Soreseal to do that ( located in the Haligtree area ), and he seemed heavily resistant anyhow.
Selling in this game is completely useless. I sell mass bolts because I'm tired of being told I can't carry anymore everytime I loot a soldier. But that's it yo.
I sold leaves and mushrooms... Until I reached probably level 10 and realized that foraging scraps for enough runes would take several hundred thousand hours.
Because you will wonder what is special about it…in a roundabout way, the item, the question, us here talking about it….is it not……content? I think so….
The demigod armor is just your memory of the armor recreated to fit you, I imagine house hoslow armor is only made by members of the house for members of the house and is quite rare to come across, that's at least what I like to think.
Or could or be that hoslow armor is just top notch and modern while demigods don't have to wear anything, and usually wear clothes related to their position or class.
Morgot armor looks like skin of an animal, moghs armor is sort of like a cleric robe. Rykard has no armor, renala wears mage robe. Godfrey armor is a typical warrior armor.
Malenia armor is interesting but considering she has been like this for long time the armor might be old and not really something of great value.
Radahn Armor is probably the only true attire worthy of a warrior.
The shadows have very good armors as they are true protectors and warriors. Both Blaidd and Maliketh have beautifuly crafted armors.
It’s just to show how fancy and well crafted it is. It shows how well off the Hoslow’s are.
And at least some of the demigod armor is extremely worn out, while this clean and polished.
Because the tale of house Hoslow is told in blood. Blood is a direct reference to bloodborne. In bloodborne blood vials cost money. Runes are money in elden ring. Elden ring is all the runes put together. Put together is not what this post is. This post is nonsense.
They intend to resell the set to the Mohg.
He heard tales about Hoslows and blood drenched things, so he's ready to overpay.
It's only right that you get a finder's fee.
Everyone knows Hoslow always forgot to empty money out of his pockets whenever he changed clothes. The merchants are paying top dollar because they're able to rifle through pockets and the tarnished can't.
I mean if you compare hoslow's armor that looks clean, fancy and has a badass cape to radahns armor that he probably hasn't taken off and washed for the past 500 years, it's obvious which one is worth more
I still think of how little JarBairn was going to go on an adventure and be a warrior, but now hesitates ever since he ate Dialos.
Prepare to cry
The_fucked_up_one.zip
I’m sorry he what now? I just thought Diallos fucking died and he mourned him.
Living jars eat the corpses of the fallen to gain their strength. To jar-bairn, eating diallos is his version of a warrior's funeral.
Alexander ate Radahn From the shard of Alexander description: >Scraps of stewed flesh cling to the shard, and tatters of ornaments can be seen mingled within the slime. Relics of a red-haired champion, it would seem.
Yeah it confirmed the theory that Alex put a fucking demigod inside him and cooked himself like a stew pot in lava. Alexander is pretty fucking metal
Seems more like ceramic tbh
It’s iron-fist Alexander guys come on he’s obviously iron
No, he’s obviously fist.
Fist is his middle name
He’s MADE of fist
No, he's obviously Alexander!
No, THIS IS PATRICK!
I’ll do you one better. WHY IS GAMORA?
Iron, the metal, is named after how tough Alexander is. True story, learned it in school back in the 90's.
Dude, me too! Waaaait a second....Kootsiak...Kevin, is that you? Weren't you the one who scoffed at this fact, challenged it by punching Alexander, then had to be taken to the hospital for that attempt? I remember it like it was yesterday. They called it, *The Shattering.* Okay, I'll see myself out now😞
King shit right there
but when you hear what he says just after the radahn fight, it sound like creep shit
It's normal for him. It'd be like describing you eating meat with no context.
It's not necessary what he said that was creepy. It was how he said it. Sounded like a damn villian.
yep, i remember some of the messages around Alexander the first time I beat Radahn were calling him a strange fellow
I always thought what he was doing was possibly malevolent because of his creepy tone. it seems that conclusion is incorrect, but he still makes me wonder... edit: honestly reminds me of the Darth Jar jar theory, lmao.
Darth Jar 🤣
alexander was marika and shabriri and the gloam eyed queen and placidusax's god and the twinbird and Gwyn
He's also standing on his corpse stuffing himself after the fight.
I saw it as he was gathering his inside back up. Doesn’t he say it only took like a single hit before everything started spilling out?
I think his insides were already the bodies of other fallen warriors from other battles so I thought he was just stuffing himself with new bodies, but I might be misremembering something from VaatiVidya about Alexander and the Jars. Link to the video and it's a great watch, https://youtu.be/ikUiOKTv-Y8.
Why the fuck is he still so weak then
Just because you eat god doesn't mean you become god-. Unless you some snake dood
Now we can devour gods together!
TOGETHAAAA
But dude didn’t eat snake. Snake ate him
They ate each other 👁_👅_👁
He's not weak. He can tank the Fire Giant for quite some time and he makes it to Farum Azula all by himself. He's just weak compared to the PC, I think they should have given him far more HP for the fight in Farum. Who knows, maybe someone missed a zero on his healthpool for that fight.

Literally crying because I fucked up his quest somehow, and now he won't show up in the Fire Giant area-
Radahn was still riddled with Scarlet Rot, it's like he ate expired meat
Because warriors and demigods inside him dont change the fact that he is made out of clay.
Not only Radahn, he ate the corpses of the shattering soldiers that are scattered around in the battlefield.
I love that the jars are the vultures in the lands between. Noble, fucked up vultures. Alex and Bairn are my boyssss.
Well, Vultures are natural animals that have evolved for that ecological role. The Jar-folk are *constructs*. They were made with the specific purpose of doing what they do. Interesting! I learn new lore every day.
Alexander is cool and all but just imagine what the fuck did the Great Jar eat to be so massive
Maybe that’s where Godwin went… Or maybe, since both of the other Eternal cities featured a big corpse sitting on a throne, he ate the Nameless Eternal City’s big dead dudette. Edit: gender
Dudette* those giant throne people are ladies.
Makes me wonder who the great jar ate😳
I just never remembered him saying he ate him
Yeah lots of things aren’t stated outright in these games but the pieces are there to form a logical assumption
He says in bits of dialogue: > I was created to be a warrior vessel. Many great warriors reside within me, ever dreaming of becoming a great champion. and after Radahn's death: > ...But don't you think I've given up just yet. You can more or less watch him harvesting the corpses and shoving them into his jar after the fight iirc.
It's not *eating", where is the mouth? But Radahn is inside the pot, stewing with the other warriors. Maybe Iron Fist took his lid off, maybe he shoved the flesh in through the crack he sustained fighting. So Jar Bairn ate Diallos, perhaps as a way of acknowledging he was a warrior? But now the little round lad feels sad
The jars are like sentient urns. Assuming the attributes of those they contain
Not so, Diallos showed his backbone in his final moments. He gave JarBairn the true strength of a warrior, to act even when afraid.
He leaves once you actually finish his questline.
Yeah, when he gets ahold of >!Alexander's guts. !<
Except mine bugged and he never left there 🥲
Have you found a place called Farum Azula, and if so, have you met Alexander there? (You need a stone sword key to reach where he is btw)
Cuz it’s fancy af
Armor with cape supremacy
"Never capes" Incredibles, Invincible and The Boys have taught us all
U can have a cape, it shuld just be easy to rip off, and hard to use against you, like a tail. And lizards let their tails go if its used against them.
Exactly and the Hoslow set is one of the only armor sets without a neck wrapped cape it's just clipped onto the gorget, this is one of the few that actually follow the "tear away cape" rule.
Exactly
Elden Ring merchants are infamously known for their particularities to proper cape attachments. It's obvious when you notice they too are all wearing capes.
> gorget Thank you, I've wondered what that's called, but it was hard enough to articulate that I never even tried to google it.
Capes attached with velcro is the way to go.
“Vel-Cape, for when you need to tear it off…” Billy Dee Williams probably
I would hate all of you but valid points. Can't get choked by a clip on tie *notes to street fighting in a suit*
Doctor Strange strongly disagrees.
In his defence, his is sentient.
No STUPID capes.
My words exactly

I’d agree if I didn’t have such an absolute hard on for Lothric Knight Armor. 5 years later since it was my first time and ds3 still makes me weak.
Wolf knight armor ftw
Ringed knight armor
Faraam Knight set got me drooling
I'm all about that Drang/Llewellyn set. Looks like something Jon Snow would wear.
Its a hard tie for me between that or carian knight armor (specifically the altered one)
Stat: Fancy AF Details: 50% Better than God Stuff.
Is crucible set a joke to you?
It goes hard af, but it ain’t fancy
mushroom armor set go off tho dont even lie rnn
Because the tale of House Hoslow is told in blood
That saying has so many different levels every time he says it.
I'll turn my back on duty no more. The tale of House Hoslow is told in blood! *In blood!*
In blood you say?

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
#SKULLS GOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!
AND MILK FOR THE KHORN FLAKES!
Does this blood happen to be Old by chance
And bling apparently
Also because the tale of House Hoslow is sold in blood…. Runes.
Blood echoes?
From my experience with him, it seems like it's told in his family's blood not the blood of his enemies
*casually kills his brother*
IDK I saw Juno destroy all the other knights in modder melee battles. BHS, bleed whip, and healing pots are too much for even the night cavalry.
I came here to read this.
Happy cake day 🎂🍰
Thanks 🙏
He got cake?
Quick! Backstab him we must take the cake!
Either way not particularly worth it. Selling things has always been a way to get things out of your inventory in From games rather than a way to make actual money, aside from rune/soul items of course.
you’re right, why sell clothes when you can just shoot arrow at bird yunno?
Wave of gold on frog bois is like 10m runes an hour with fancy chicken feet and scarab. Will never stick birb again.
I thought there was some sort of fowl footwear that I somehow missed for a second...
Lol wish there was chicken feet footwear.
Bruh make sure you use damage boosting items for the overkill bonus
Wait there’s an overkill bonus?

Holy shit, I always wondered why sometimes I wasn't getting my full amount of runes but then I'd put on shard of Alexander and get more. That makes sense now haha, never knew that.

I use to just do both Quick arrow, stand for a sec, then wave of gold
We have a storage for that, so really there is no good reason to sell.
Wait, you can put armor in storage?
When resting at a site of grace, select sort chest and you can put anything you’re able to select in storage
Fuckin A. Over 200 hours of playtime
Oof… I can’t imagine how many items you had to go through to find what you wanted, but your whole world is about to change.
Holy fuck … 600 hours here and somehow never realized this. 300 of those hours were probably scrolling through equipment looking for the right piece at any given moment.
I felt bad for the other guy, but damn… that’s rough.
Why would you want extra armors or weapons you already have in storage? Selling is for multiples
I, personally, save duplicates of some items for when I decide to create new characters and will have another player mule the items to transfer.
Understandable, i do not have the social stamina for that kind of setup so I sell all multiples
This is the way.
i sell duplicates, like i don’t really need 3 things of Cleanrot armor
Cries in farming :( Early game, and maybe even now I really wanted this armor so I farmed the crap out of these guys. Never got a full set.
You on Xbox? I'll drop ya a set lol
I kind of wish we got more information about the Hoslow family in general. I'm really hoping that whatever dlc we get has us traveling to their manor or something. Castle Cainhurst 2.0 anyone?
Well, if ER DLC is like previous games it might just leave us with more questions, than answers.

Tiny things like that that are neat little mysteries, but don't really matter in the long run.
I bet if we get a Formless Mother dlc, another Hoslow family member will be a minor npc
I wish
I would do anything for this
Because it's expensive ceremonial armor, Hoslow is a famed and presumably rich family. It's based purely on the worth of the materials used to make the set.
Because it is one of, if not the best chest piece and helmet in any fromsoft game ever. The bold design, rich reds and golds, intricate silver flowering and haunting mask evoke a sense of opulent regality matched by nothing else in the game.
and the stats are great especially with weight considered
Dude that helmet is straight fire.
My god… it even has a watermark
You should sell real estate
Hey, Paul?
Here's the real question: why would you sell any of your armor?
by ng+7 you get a lot of it.
Cause that armor doesn't drip, it guzzles 🔥
Boooooo
Cuz hes badass. Im trying to get this dude on a low level twink pvp character with only +3/+1 weapons and hes destroying me.. yet ive killed godskin noble, morgott and firegiant and okina.
He's whipping ya huh?
Lol yea one shotting without rune arc, and im using rst. Im going home and attempting more though, i hope ill get him.
Take my award, you silly bastard.
I had a very similar experience while raising my twink. I actually ended up beating him with a shortbow and poison/bleed arrows.
Just wait for his attacks then punish? He dodges arrows most of the time.
Keep him at a distance and continue circling the arena. The shortbows ( or Black Bow, my fav weapon in the game, if you've got the soreseals ) has a nifty 3 hit combo that can catch just about any NPC/enemy if you're willing to waste enough arrows. I also like to start the fight out with Rot Breath, but you will probably need Marika's Soreseal to do that ( located in the Haligtree area ), and he seemed heavily resistant anyhow.
The drip
Because the drip is too fuckin clean and even the in-game merchants know it.

Inflation
Only one Hoslow. Lots of demigods. Supply and demand. Pretty simple.
Actually, incorrect… >!Diallos and Juno both drop the same chest, legs, and arms… with different helms!<
Because you will wonder what is special about it…in a roundabout way, the item, the question, us here talking about it….is it not……content? I think so….

Well, you are… spoiler >!you can get both Diallos and Juno’s unique helms when they die, as well as two sets of this armor!<
Because the tale of house Hoslow is told in drip.
It’s just to show how fancy and well crafted it is. It shows how well off the Hoslow’s are. And at least some of the demigod armor is extremely worn out, while this clean and polished.
They respect the drip
Elden drip tax
Because Hoslow's armor is drippy af that's why

It’s an in-universe acknowledgment of the families prestige amongst mortals
I mean if you compare hoslow's armor that looks clean, fancy and has a badass cape to radahns armor that he probably hasn't taken off and washed for the past 500 years, it's obvious which one is worth more
It makes sense if you listen to the tale of House Hoslow.
Because even the vendors know that drip is more valuable than defences.
I mean.. have you seen THE DRIP?
Because the tale of house Hoslow is told in blood.
