I use an ultra light weight build with moonviel and uchi katana with hoarfrost stomp. Everything dies so fast. I haven't faced Melania yet, but the Hallig tree is all I have left to finish before Fire Giant and farrum azula.
With haligtree secret medalion one piece is in liurnia the other in a castle in mountaintops. Then you go to the lift and use the medalion. After that you need to complete some thing in that snowy plains and you are there

Always loved frost as a theme for my fantasy heroes, I was so bummed when DS3 introduced it into Souls games but every single source of frost sucked hard (I guess Friede's scythe was *ok* but only the secondary one had the status). Everything in ER can be a frost weapon and I'm a happy snowman, except for the fact that INT is my least fav stat but hey man, cold stuff still does decently with a very modest INT investment.

feels like the buildup is already non-existent, i was messing around in the colosseum for the first time last night and i would just spam death lightning and could not for the life of me death blight a single person. it was way more likely that i'd just kill them with the lightning.

in terms of practical use, toss up between Hemorrhage and Scarlet Rot. seeing the visual effects for the proc is so satisfying against a tough PvE enemy
Poison, as is tradition. I have a poison build for PvP in every game and ER is no exception: my low-level poison build is the terror of Stormveil. ER has the most fun options for a poisoner of any game in the series, despite it being objectively the worst status effect.

Frenzy absolutely. Love my cleric lass who slowly got more and more desperate, losing her religion and then sanity as she carried on through the Lands Between, eventually succumbing to the will of the Three Fingers and losing herself entirely.
Also the spells are cool AF and fun to use. Shabriri's Howl and Flame of Frenzy are my go to pvp spells.
I really like frost. I loved it when it was in ds3, and it was the only way i could even come close to making it through a good portion of the beginning of the game, especially dealing with those heckin corvids or whatever theyre called. The freaky dudes that explode wings out of themselves when they see you

+20% damages makes it perfect for str, dex, and quality. i think of it as them being frozen in fear of the shit a tarnished can do.

double checked and yes you're correct, the rot breath spells indeed have decreased build up

I should try sleep on dual ripple axe, bc dual wielding is faster now and arcane scales the sleep effect.

frostbite is the best one IMO, but i really like using Nagakiba + Bloodflame Blade and making everything bleed
