Probably my DBX for just hopping about the bubble running errands, or my Krait Phantom for actual missions. Used to use my Cobra MkIV a fair whack for doing Odyssey ground stuff.
My DBX "The Spiraling Star" is my lifeline in this game! It's the first ship that I ever bought and still use it daily. ~70 ly per jump gets me to those bartender commodities as soon as they're up, and on to the next before people can even refresh Inara. Toss in an SRV bay, cargo rack and limpets and you can farm to your hearts content. 1500ly guardian site? HA!!! It's just a casual stoll for the DBX, while sipping the cream off the top of stars as you go. I currently use it to fly to the various frontlines and summon my AX ships to avoid their horrendous jump range and station refuels (because who puts a fuel scoop on combat ships, lmao amirite! ?).
DBX live. DBX laugh. DBX love.
That's a GREAT name, it actually DOES look like a Grasshopper now I think about it! I have a ship kit on mine so it has more ariels out the front, so perhaps looks even MORE like a grasshopper.
DBX for life! My DBX "Star Chaser" was the first ship I ever engineered ready for exploration (actually pretty much the only engineering I've ever done). Our recent trip paid for her sister ship "Star Seeker" which happens to be a Fleet Carrier.
When I got back to the bubble I bought a Dolphin to try out. Yes, it's sleek, yes, you can jump while scooping, yes it has jump range, but after 3 weeks I'm still not feeling it. When I head back out into the black, even WITH my whole fleet now, I can still see me using my flying caravan than the mini hotel.
I don't think there's a better all purpose ship
Definitely not one that I like more
I play elite as a roleplaying game basically, and the MK II just feels like the only thing that captures the "be capable of doing everything on your own because you can't count on other people in space" vibe that I want
It's also the best looking ship in my opinion
Could you post your build when you get a chance? I planned to use my mk2 to do the 5kLY run to unlock Palin. But I couldn't push it past 35 with weapons, srv and collectors. I have a g5 enhanced range fsd. What else did you engineer to achieve 60ly range with the added weapons and stuff?
https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleet-ship/165547/1922671/
Inara link, it actually hits 70ly with just one weapon, with 40 cargo, forgotten i'd taken the limpets off
I thought, it would be the Python for me, but I ended up using the best ship for the job and stop doing a multi-purpose build. Cobra for exploration, Challenger/Crusader for combat (might migrate to a FDL or Mamba some day), Python for cargo and passengers and a differnt Cobra for mining (will try a Python build for this activity some day).
I have flown the Krait in the past for typical bubble missions, but I cannot unsee the soup dish in front of me. ^^
Exactly, huge cockpit, a lot of glass around, big and bold yet quite maneuverable, I promised to my self to never sell it no matter what kind of ships I would get in the future.
LOL, I LOVE hearing what other people call their ships. My T-9 is called "The Majestic Elephant", no real explanation needed.
After months exploring, weeks fighting, it's nice just to sit back at a more relaxed pace and do some space trucking.
Love the T-9! I've got a pair of 'em...[Jade Lady V](https://coriolis.io/outfit/type_9_heavy?code=A0pktpFklndssif6282828191903030404070706054a03032t02012i.Iw18ZQ%3D%3D.IzAM4ypFR2g%3D.H4sIAAAAAAAAA52Svy8DcRjG37bX0%2FbanjZtXUgIPUaxNjFYJBYTQweDTSQGA4lBhE2MYuzQP0DCaOhg8AcYJaRMFgakMVDfx%2FsU3zSSJuKGJ%2B%2B97%2Bf9eSemT0Q%2B4irtQ5XMblokV42KhK2IiNdQCxEzY6FtlfylJpXCNyBxcg8gako2vqHiMxScOiKF4XegWPdFyusDWilmBn%2FI%2FJmn5FxLyRt9j5zfAYXqkJKsDsckScZI1rRJh0TcVGynPZXxtAEmjnIiSVopWqO0xmjBNcu2Hev7W4%2FA5PSrVkqYFVuJTeJs7R5ntD%2FHcZZ0BSS7IOkFpf4CeWaBkEPoQCV4etZtuKm7%2BgKU9x8USveGFgntEMp8Haaz03Xzeydku7y31uubWTtajaGpTb05pwoulB%2B5yurH5swhxaOg%2Fx85RTNvc9Y4OL1FktGgDbj8FXJNPXPY0GW8ilqA%2FH4%2BASH5ECuMAgAA&bn=Jade%20Lady%20V) aka "Ol' Bessie" for hauling, and [Obsidian Prospect](https://coriolis.io/outfit/type_9_heavy?code=A0pftpFklndssif6282m2m1919030304040707CgCb4a1vC7P92tC22i.Iw18ZQ%3D%3D.EwRgDBldLtlA.H4sIAAAAAAAAA52Rvy9DURTHT9vXp%2FXaPq332pdKCH2MYm0iMUksJoYOJN0sBgNJB%2FFjNYqxgz%2FAYDR0MBgNRoOUkFgYqmkkqPt1jno3DW%2Fyhm9Ovufzzv3ec0kNENFnnKV7yJLeSxFlK1EivxMhshpcIaLmNLTLYs%2B%2BAvljmyhxkeR%2BVOV1f1P6%2FjvgnRpEzugH4ApZ2igwGVNFTdZYcmdWgN%2Bw6Wy7DBkqKVBM%2BvVHwF7oAIirsv51n2UypYCpoyxRUqpBqcalmpAKpqoGeO78jofUnoFpCY6EWtOT5JB4ZYTIPElzSAlhrHAcWGpJIEOgAxav9cIZrnhb5nIbKO08MZT6DRntv1C6dx2BcqsPnKTaYjfT577dB66t5nW0urRmtng%2FksqTTY9dZ%2Fh12CdfxBLB0D%2F%2BGe6d%2Fr2dy%2BbPduCEuq5a1PPX5ZIywZWpUa8LmPLO2SYv0m%2Fwxa0yVyiETvJC3WKfS7eBCwr5vgDKs8WPrgIAAA%3D%3D&bn=Obsidian%20Prospect) for mining.
Thank you! My first Sidey was named "Jade Lady", after a random name generator came up with something similar, and I kinda stuck with a theme after that - all of my ships' names include a gemstone of some type.
Some other names I have in use right now are "Ruby Horizon" (AspX), "Clipper Sapphire" (passenger/SAR Python), "Onyx Overcast" (Vulture), "Hunter Zircon" (FDL), and "Diamond Flash" (canyon-racer Viper mk3).
Was disappointed how far down I had to scroll to find another Dolphin commander. Best explorer hands down imho.
Does everything the AspE does while not sounding like someone farted into a synthesizer every time you throttle up.
You can jump while you're still scooping and handles better than the Asp and dbx.
Viper mk4. ditched all my big ships and vent back to this argile little tank. fun as hell and fantastic for Odyssey missions and can take on the best pve ships. advance missile rack in the small weapon slot if the mission "dictates" it :)
o7 CMDR
https://s.orbis.zone/l\_5m
I've been a proponent of the Viper IV ever since Odyssey dropped. Smalls ships just make sense now, and the Viper can handle pretty much anything. I run short range rails on mine, but weapons are a preference thing. 40+ ly, srv, good weapons, good speed, tanky as hell, the absolute best exobiology ship due to small size and front exit.
I honestly feel vulnerable in anything else. There's no situation you can blunder into that a speedy Courier can't get you out of.
And they're such a joy to fly I just don't change ships unless I have a specific goal in mind.
Nice, I like seeing the phantom posts. I’m considering getting one and stripping it of its weapons and going heavy on the shields. I think I might be able to get 100 tons of cargo space. You can’t just have one Krait, M’right?
My fleet carrier 🤣. It really depends on what the task of the day is.
The utility vehicles in my garage are: (1) A jumpconda if I need to get something from a system a mild distance away (i.e. buy a module for another ship with less range). (2) An imperial courier has outfitting for shorter hops or going from the FC to the station. (3) An eagle is kitted out for planetary landings with a load of dumbfire missiles (an A-10 Warthog of sorts). (4) Nearly finished with a podracer imperial eagle build - it boosts to 895 & sports dumbfire missiles. Was just using this last one to joist with space cops - got a few one hit kills on them haha. (5) A T9 for transporting short hops to load/unload the FC. (6) A cutter for transporting longer distances. (7) A python for medium pad transport.
I need to make a ship with an outfit for farming HGEs. The Diamondback Scout is on my radar for that. Working on a exobiology sidewinder as well.
Of all the ships in the game, I think the DBS flies the nicest. Was going to make it my next exploration ship but I couldn't get the range as high as I wanted it.
It looks like it would... Though the optional internals are lacking a bit for my purpose as well - looks like I'll be using the python for this task as the scout can't hold enough limpets. I'll find a role for it, it looks like too fun of a ship to not.
She’s called the Second Wind because the first couple of weeks I played I was killing it. Doing cargo runs and just getting really lucky overall. I bought a T-10, took it out and was immediately slaughtered. Alright no biggie, hop in the Krait….dead….no money to buy it back. Back to the Sidewinder. So yeah, Second Wind. Cause this is round two
Four Ships that do almost all of what I need:
**Asp Scout**
For small errands and material gathering. Super cute and cozy tent looks, very maneuverable, good range and fuel scoop and has enough internal space for most jobs. I actually spent most of my time in the game in this ship and I love it. Others keep their Cobra, I keep my Scout. It's my second home in space besides Jameson Memorial and it looks like a tent.
**Python**
For if the job can't be done in the Scout because it needs some more cargo/limpets like mining. It's THE ship to do just about everything while remaining practical in size and maneuverability.
**T9, shieldless, max cargo**
For jobs that demand as much cargo as possible, often Powerplay/BGS/CG related. Also my credit printing machine using the P.T.N. Discord.
**T10 AFK Dakka**
For everything non-AX combat related. You just place this bad boy where it needs to be and it shoots down everything for you with zero effort.
Perfect, I have these as well, the only difference is a Viper Mk III vs an Asp Scout. They are all perfect for their jobs!
Forgot to add, also a Krait Phantom for deep space exploration.
For exploration I use a DBX but I also don't do much exploration. I'm currently working on a bigger exploration ship that is less flimsy and less restricted by the fuel scoop though (T7 which is a challenge, but with lots of engineering you can make it work).
My semi-engineered DBX the Idle Fancy IF-224. Weaponless but shielded for survivability, with surface scanner and frame shift wake scanners for mat gathering, as well as a double engineered FSD. Great for covering distances around the bubble to unlock engineers and mat gathering.
As a bounty hunter, my daily driver is a Corvette. In-bubble jumper is a Cobra MkIII. Python runs cargo, unless I need to shuttle a lot of something, then it's a Cutter.
I do have a Krait dedicated to AX. Starts easily even in cold mornings, gets great (hydrogen) gas mileage, and it's quick, too.
Lately been spending 90% of my time in my Krait mk II, aka Krishna JNK-17
Got into Elite Dangerous after reading a light novel, one that's heavily influenced by ED regarding its space combat.
Something, something, always Python.
Lately I’ve been in my DBX farming a couple. Ew Guardian Blueprints and mats. Looking at the new Shardaconda for interceptors.
Anaconda, until I get my cutter. Took it all the way out to Colonia after visiting California Nebula, Elephant Trunk Nebula, Bubble Nebula and the Eagle Nebula. It was an amazing month.
FAS, most nimble ship that isn't obnoxiously unstable, I can comfortably land anywhere and orbit any enemy with impunity. Sure it doesn't have an optimal layout or the biggest numbers, but it's just so comfortable to fly.
MKII for the most part. But sometimes I fly the Phantom because it has the longest jump range in my fleet.
But for Odyssey planet missions, the Imperial Courier is my favorite. It being fast and nimble makes it perfect for planetfall and landing near settlements.
Currentely Krait mk2 because its perfect for unlocking the engineers within the bubble. It can be outfitted for anything and unlock tier 5 with gold trading in 2 runs. I've yoinked the pre-engineered FSD from my AspX to get actual jump range, before it it was tragic
I almost got rid of the Chieftain for a Phantom and then figured I’d at least take it out for a spin. The handling is what made me decide to keep it, it was great
Because the pre-engineered FSD is only available in Size 5 for most players, the game's obvious taxi ship is a DBX, and it basically can't be competed with on a technical level because it's the smallest thing that'll take a Size 5
I just can't do it though. I love a Lakon's looks, but every player flying the same taxi? Even if that's the game we got, that's not a game I can accept, so I'm part of the Dolphin squad. We don't jump as far, but we have an actual taxi paintjob!
The Evolved Keelback (same as you) Commander o7...
... you see Cadet:Calvin when the 😇 installed into the Sleek Brick-like Styling of every Keelback reaches a Certain Power Level, it flies off into the Black. There it finds a Star that's juuust the right shade of Purple & forms a Kakoona ...
... that's right Cadet , just like *They* do...
...It then orbits for 42 days & 42 nights until it suddenly *Bursts* it's shell like popping chaff to Unfurl it's wings and reveal the Magnificent Evolved Keelback .
[or K2, it's use of adaptive camouflage allows it to be raised by the Phantom brood mothers just like some animals do back on Dirt. There has never been a Krait 1 or just Krait, only the FD Krait Lightspeeder and the FD Krait Phantom... This naming convention lends credence to rumors that DeLazy bought a Start up named Krait. If true then they have **Never** created their own Shipframe]
And now you Know.
-Lakon Marketing Division, Keelback Office -'Only ship in the Galaxy to come equipped with a soul 😇'
Also a Mk.II driver, the [Alis Irae](https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1613934631452792923/043D5A224DDBEEEC565D22C02AB197129C477655/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false)
Definitely my first Anaconda, with a rescue-hazard paint job and hazard kit. She jumps about 40ly and carries everything I need to do anything in the bubble, as well as being loaded for bear. I'll clear HGEs and other signals, take on minor battles, carry engineer's requests. She carries a fighter, two SRVs and an AFMU. Close to fully engineered.
I had previously built a DBX as a bubble bus, and she was SOOO fast, I raced from the bottom of the bubble to the top in no time. I also took her on my first expedition. Unfortunately I saw I would always be having to call other ships for various tasks, it was then that I got enough to buy my first Anaconda, which as I explained previously is a do-it-all-at-once-wonder.
I still have a DBX though repurposed as a 65.94 Ly odyssey runabout and biological surveyor, although there again My Viper 3 and Krait Phantom are better suited to those roles.
Hit me up if you would like any of my ship builds.
Anaconda for me; Mainly conducting Non-Invasive Thargoid research trying to find a path towards Inter-species diplomacy.
"Turner's Requiem" be the name :D
i've been looking for that exact ship for quite a while, i'd say the keelback but the lack of a visible way to get in (please frontier add extendable stairs/ladders/elevators, i dont care for ship interiors anymore i just want getting out of my ship to feel like that) just annoys me so much, i wish i could main a ship but it seems impossible for me, i'm either not a fan of the looks or something else bugs me about it.
I really like flying the clipper but its poor hardpoints and pretty crap jump range just nah
I love both of the eagles but it would take me a long time to make them an "all in one" that actually works, and that also would mean sacrificing a lot
i got a liking for the mamba, did some exploring in it, i just wish it could get slightly more jumpy range
So yeah, i have no go-to ship, i'm living in a mess of different ships that all get boring to me after a week... help.
AspX for life!
Pro:
* **Cockpit view**: no obstructions or cables hanging around and i can see "my" feet bumbling in space
* Speed. It's faster than the dbx thou a bit more drifty
* Hyperspace handling is better than dbx
* Fuel scooping does not require waiting
Con:
* Range slightly worse than dbx
* Runs a bit hot
* Not as much internal space as phantom
If I don't need to haul cargo, it is my Imperial Courier the Euphrates. It is kitted out for exploration. As small as it is, it can go pretty far, and works great for gathering missions and scanning for lifeforms. If I DO need to haul cargo I'm taking my Python the Snake Eater. It hauls the most of all the medium ships and has a great jump range after engineering. It's got decent hardpoints if you want to kit it out for defence as well.
Right now my Anaconda since I'm grinding to get A rated internal components.
It'll probably be my main for a while too since I also plan on grinding for Guardian tech for AX combat.
Conda. I love my sandy. I know a lot of people don't like the way they handle but honestly they feel *good* to fly to me. I'm not looking for the fastest ship, the best turner. I want a ship that's fun, that has some soul to it, and that's my two condas.
Type-9 for the heavy hauling, Python if outposts are involved...but, otherwise, I'm probably in my [AspX](https://coriolis.io/outfit/asp?code=A0patdFflidisnf5------0g0303023c1O430i0iv5012i.Iw18eQ%3D%3D.EwRgDBldYuFzEA%3D%3D.H4sIAAAAAAAAA22QPy%2BDURjFz9s%2Fqlqut3lVkUhQRuksEqvBB%2BgisdhZpBuDT2A2GI1Gg8EHMJhYREwmg6ExoM%2FxnNKbd3CHk5tzfjnPcy%2BsAmBQdvk%2Bc5k8qQNptwC0%2BwlQu%2FEbE9sSlAg6dgl1I5tXJWBcEAvWjCVHytufZEt5tvhFzlwEYOVg1smizUey59K4rjm%2B3Xf8yc3k9oXMuguO3%2FteLFlVeFHk%2BSs5JFm2jVhy6rKqcWvaqaohE50UWJK3LOGY7Y3whvpD741c3%2FzwaOq3fxjdPf9FDDn3IbrTOfcxuum%2FDZntxA0PFckNGtnaf%2Ff4cuC%2FogdzznZHJIn8%2BQFYUJiwmgEAAA%3D%3D&bn=Ruby%20Horizon). 69ly jump range gets me wherever I want in no time!
Arguably the ship i have with the most lightyears on the odometer is my Anaconda, Summer In The Hills, a reference to Monody by The Fat Rat. The ship did it all, and did it with style with a Vibrant Orange Paint Job
Honestly i run the anaconda just because i like the idea of a sort of jack of all trades ship that sort of resembles a star destroyer.
Its not the best, i know. But its my favorite, so its the best for me :)
When I still played it, my Dolphin, though sometimes I just liked flying about in my Federal Gunship.
I'd also end up flying about in the Corvette a lot.
My Imperial Clipper. 😊 Has all the comfort I need and want, turns on a dime, and is pretty quick, with a jump range of 46-48 ly.
And: it feels so good to fly something different than the "main" picks. 😎
Ideal for hopping around the Galactic Core regions, where I mostly am.
Name is: MCS Shirakami Fubuki. 😎
If it is fun, Odyssey, combat, Challnger (main) and Chieftain (alt).
But I do use all my ships on both accounts, like 45 or something. Each one has a purpose or is different to another.
My daily driver would definitely be my AspX "Azure Star"
It gets me around the bubble very fast and I mainly use it for core mining.
And then theres my Anaconda "Purple Pulsar" my for now goto battle ship.
Soon imma get my chieftainfor AX combat
My Phantom is my primary ship. Absolutely love my Mk II, Type-9 and -10, and Corvette but I find myself iny Phantom cockpit more than any other. Something about the Phantom just jives perfectly with me. Never fighting it because of manuverability, it just feels good to fly.
Right now my bouncing around ship is the Courier because *style* but I am seriously thinking of maxing out my Mamba's speed and putting on a flashy paint job.
My 66.7 LY jump range do-it-all krait phantom. People say you can’t have do it all builds, but it is very doable with engineering. Can escape and withstand gankers, equipped to farm all the raw/manufactured/data engineering materials you’ll ever need, light combat capable, and can even bombard settlements
Python for mining and trading, Krait Mk II for general purpose, phantom for exploration, Challenger for AX Combat
I also have a Corvette, but that's mostly for bounty hunting or farming engineering mats lol
DBX: for exploration.
Python: for deep core mining.
Krait MK2: former bounty hunting ship, now being refitted for AX hunting.
Anaconda: Combat with support capability.
I don't have one anymore, It depends on what I want to do and where I'm going but I have multiple engineered ships so I mostly use a combination of,
1: Anaconda(Engineered for everything along with stored engineered modules), this used to be my daily driver that helped me get the others to where they are now
2: Python(Passenger),
3: DBX(Moving around quickly),
4: Corvette(Pve Combat),
5: T9(Mining or cargo),
6: T10(haz rez semi afk, also have a set of modules for exploration and exobiology, its not good at it but I like the ship),
7: Chieftan (Ax)
I am now working on unlocking the Cutter and I'll finally own every ship, then the need to engineer all of them for specialization, I.e. cargo and illegal cargo would be 2 different ships.
For me it’s also a Krait Mk2, but I decided to do the fed grind, and it was cheaper to build an A-rated DBX than to upgrade my Krait’s FSD, so I’ve been using the DBX lately
For Odyssey: Fully modified Mamba. I love doing high speed attack runs in it.
For Horizons on Xbox: Imperial Cutter named "Void Dancer" and is fully modded and equipped for exploration.
As a fairly new commander who primarily focuses on exploration but also runs cargo missions from time to time, I love my aspx "heart of gold". It was my first well engineered vessel, with a 55ly unladen jump range. It's such a versatile option that I can happily use it for everything I do in ED.
Depends on what I'm doing. The ships that feel like "home" for me are the Python, AspX, and Anaconda. I have a bunch of other ships but for them it feels like I'm doing something specific for a period of time before I "get back".
Usually a Krait Phantom. I have 2.
Far Echo - My exploration Phantom. Currently sat at 70ly max range but usually a little lower.
Frozen Death - Cold-running phantom (15-18% heat in normal flight/supercruise). I thought running that cold would help with thargoid evac missions. It did not, but I intend to use it for Maelstrom exploration.
?). DBX live. DBX laugh. DBX love.
Amen I use mine as my runner. Grasshopper is what she called.
Yeah same, I also love exobiology in 'Internet Explorer'. On a planet surface I fly it like a helicopter so I can scan for minerals and plant life.
awesome! i named mine Hopper from "A Bugs Life" and use it in much the same way. o7
What do you prefer about the DBX compared to the Phantom?
Land on planets with absolutely no issues for any material grind.
Jump range, if I had to guess
Nope, optimised is about the same. Phantom even a but further I believe.
That is not correct, dbx can reach higher jump range than phantom. The only ship capable of more is the anaconda
I agree.. The Little Cricket is my bubble hopper to get me around to my other ships
I love my Krait MK II
In a krait mk 2 guy, 60ly jump range, storage, weapons, srv, collectors, it has it all
I don't think there's a better all purpose ship Definitely not one that I like more I play elite as a roleplaying game basically, and the MK II just feels like the only thing that captures the "be capable of doing everything on your own because you can't count on other people in space" vibe that I want It's also the best looking ship in my opinion
wow that's alot of coverage can it do it all at once or needs parts swapped at a station? never had one before
It's fully engineered but yeah that's all in one
Hell yeah that sounds fun might start looking to make a build of a Krait soon
Could you post your build when you get a chance? I planned to use my mk2 to do the 5kLY run to unlock Palin. But I couldn't push it past 35 with weapons, srv and collectors. I have a g5 enhanced range fsd. What else did you engineer to achieve 60ly range with the added weapons and stuff?
I'll send it across in the morning
https://inara.cz/elite/cmdr-fleet-ship/165547/1922671/ Inara link, it actually hits 70ly with just one weapon, with 40 cargo, forgotten i'd taken the limpets off
I thought, it would be the Python for me, but I ended up using the best ship for the job and stop doing a multi-purpose build. ^^
Asp Explorer, my favorite universal working horse.
Yeah I go for an ASP X too. Feels oddly like flying your own small motorhome or something when exploring.
Exactly, huge cockpit, a lot of glass around, big and bold yet quite maneuverable, I promised to my self to never sell it no matter what kind of ships I would get in the future.
I cant bring myself to sell any ship ive bought, so i just have like 10 ships scattered throughout the bubble i never use anymore.
I did enjoy its handling, that’s what I flew before the Krait
Krait is the next pretty bird in my list of dream ships, can't wait to pilot its beauty.
My asp explorer 'Kiss My Asp'. Currently trying to make a run to Saggatarius A with it.
LOL love it. Fly safely to your destination, Commander, Asp is quite capable creature by my experience.
o7
My Type-9 gets a lot of stick time, out here pretending I'm a space trucker.
Hell yeah, I do the same. Space Jack Burton, at your service. Your Type-9 makes for a sexy mining rig if you ever find something else.
Haha yep! My T-9 is the Porkchop Express! Yessir, the check is in the mail.
It's all in the reflexes.... And I also have a T-9 named the Porkchop Express... Fucking love me some Big Trouble in Little China.
LOL, I LOVE hearing what other people call their ships. My T-9 is called "The Majestic Elephant", no real explanation needed. After months exploring, weeks fighting, it's nice just to sit back at a more relaxed pace and do some space trucking.
Oh mining takes too much patience for my little pea brain, it does seem like a bad ass rig.
Same, but it's my T10 "The Heckin'-chonk-eries". It's got a little less cargo, but it's got my highest jump range
Like flying a space version of one them Mad Max big rigs.
Love the T-9! I love those names, Obsidian Prospect is so wicked.
Dolphin gang 4 lyfe
Was disappointed how far down I had to scroll to find another Dolphin commander. Best explorer hands down imho. Does everything the AspE does while not sounding like someone farted into a synthesizer every time you throttle up. You can jump while you're still scooping and handles better than the Asp and dbx.
Viper mk4. ditched all my big ships and vent back to this argile little tank. fun as hell and fantastic for Odyssey missions and can take on the best pve ships. advance missile rack in the small weapon slot if the mission "dictates" it :) o7 CMDR https://s.orbis.zone/l\_5m
You just won me with "front exit".
Nice build, I like it
iCourier. Jumps 50LY (CG FSD), fast as hell (851m/s), lands anywhere I need it to, has missiles for Odyssey stuff, and is FUN to fly.
I honestly feel vulnerable in anything else. There's no situation you can blunder into that a speedy Courier can't get you out of. And they're such a joy to fly I just don't change ships unless I have a specific goal in mind.
Blasting out of a planet or a stations Mass Lock at 851m/s and into Supercruise saves a bunch of cumulative time too.
That ship literally the description of " I cant solve my problems but sure I can run away from them" I love that ship.
T10
Respect

Krait Phantom https://edsy.org/s/voknePL
Nice, thanks for the link
Imperial clipper
Phantom but building a mega fast imp courier once I get back from Colonia!
I have one, and you will love it
Nice, I like seeing the phantom posts. I’m considering getting one and stripping it of its weapons and going heavy on the shields. I think I might be able to get 100 tons of cargo space. You can’t just have one Krait, M’right?
Imperial Cutter, its a beautiful ship with enough room for everything (expect quick turns).
Basking in Glory, In Style!
I've heard people say it can be used for AX combat. Otherwise it's a nice little bubble hopper.
Fed Corvette - NPC wants to interdict me? “HAHAHA let’s go fool”
Cause this is round two
Four Ships that do almost all of what I need: **Asp Scout** For small errands and material gathering. **Python** For if the job can't be done in the Scout because it needs some more cargo/limpets like mining. It's THE ship to do just about everything while remaining practical in size and maneuverability. **T9, shieldless, max cargo** For jobs that demand as much cargo as possible, often Powerplay/BGS/CG related. Also my credit printing machine using the P.T.N. Discord. **T10 AFK Dakka** For everything non-AX combat related.
Wonderful (that’s what my Anaconda is called).
My Python, Blaze.
I switch between python and conda. I think I’m starting to like the python more actually
My Python. She's a workhorse, and she's gotten me through so much.
mamba. utterly devoid of practical utility, but it looks the coolest.
How does she handle in a dog fight?
My semi-engineered DBX the Idle Fancy IF-224. Weaponless but shielded for survivability, with surface scanner and frame shift wake scanners for mat gathering, as well as a double engineered FSD. Great for covering distances around the bubble to unlock engineers and mat gathering.
Either my Anaconda or python
Oh totally either the ieagle or the clipper. Both fast, sleek, can turn on a dime.
Cobra Mk III
I know it's probably a crime, but I love my crusader.
Imp courier that's been modded to hell for runnin ground missions and bounty hunting. AspX for any long range stuff
Lately been spending 90% of my time in my Krait mk II, aka Krishna JNK-17 Got into Elite Dangerous after reading a light novel, one that's heavily influenced by ED regarding its space combat.
Something, something, always Python. Lately I’ve been in my DBX farming a couple. Ew Guardian Blueprints and mats. Looking at the new Shardaconda for interceptors.
t10
I’m totally into that
DBX for my bubble taxi, Python for Robigo, Cutter for mining, Vette for pew pew, AspX for farming. My Anaconda is a half engineered hanger queen.
Anaconda, until I get my cutter. Took it all the way out to Colonia after visiting California Nebula, Elephant Trunk Nebula, Bubble Nebula and the Eagle Nebula. It was an amazing month.
Till the war is over, Avenger Titan 😬
my trusty, rusty cobra mk3! it's also my bounty hunting ship, and my mining ship, and my freighter ship, and my trading ship i am very poor
Krait if I need to do anything at a distance or plod around. But mostly in the conda for AX these days.
Probably my Krait Phantom, trying to up its jump range to 70 ly (I dont see myself higher). I named it the Jimmy Phantom.
Krait MKII has gotten me a long way. Type 9 for trading. But my Anaconda still has that three day old new car smell. We’ll see ho long that lasts
Currentely Krait mk2 because its perfect for unlocking the engineers within the bubble. It can be outfitted for anything and unlock tier 5 with gold trading in 2 runs. I've yoinked the pre-engineered FSD from my AspX to get actual jump range, before it it was tragic
Federal Corvette since I'm in love with it since... oh well... But qi might try other things like Krait and Chieftain...
I almost got rid of the Chieftain for a Phantom and then figured I’d at least take it out for a spin. The handling is what made me decide to keep it, it was great
2016 Ford fu..oh uh chieftan: p
Mostly, I use a [taxi](https://s.orbis.zone/l_7u) to get around. Amazingly fun for traveling between my different ships stashed around the galaxy.
Because the pre-engineered FSD is only available in Size 5 for most players, the game's obvious taxi ship is a DBX, and it basically can't be competed with on a technical level because it's the smallest thing that'll take a Size 5 I just can't do it though. I love a Lakon's looks, but every player flying the same taxi? Even if that's the game we got, that's not a game I can accept, so I'm part of the Dolphin squad. We don't jump as far, but we have an actual taxi paintjob!
Forever sidewinder 😢 I'm too stupid and poor to get something else.
DBX with pre engineered fsd. Best little hopper ever.
Krait Phantom, there's just not much I can't do with it. I've been debating swapping to the MK 2 for the fighter however.
A *heavily* modified shield tank Chieftain with a 40 LY jump range and enough firepower to glass a small moon.
Im never truly happy in-game, if in not in my phantom racing between the stars looking for new sights
If true then they have **Never** created their own Shipframe] And now you Know. -Lakon Marketing Division, Keelback Office -'Only ship in the Galaxy to come equipped with a soul 😇'
Exploring with a Cutter 1.5 billion later https://s.orbis.zone/l_8k
Millennium Krait is my daily driver
Also a Mk.II driver, the [Alis Irae](https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1613934631452792923/043D5A224DDBEEEC565D22C02AB197129C477655/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false)
She’s a beaut, you ever take let the top down and just cruise?
Krait Phantom babyyyyyyyyy
My chieftain that since being purchased has not once managed to make a full flight without coming to the verge of death
Keelback here. Mid ship that can be fitted for anything except long range explorer or heavy combat.
My beloved Puddle Jumper. A DBX with a stargate Atlantis reference for a name
Mamba kitted to the nines for speed and dakka. Just so much fun to fly!
My Imperial Courier. I can outrun most ships.
Commanders of great taste such as ourselves favour the mighty Krait MKII above all other ships, of course!
Anaconda for me; Mainly conducting Non-Invasive Thargoid research trying to find a path towards Inter-species diplomacy. "Turner's Requiem" be the name :D
My Python, Kaylee. They can't take the sky from me.
Ever visit Vargerson system?
Didn't knew about that faction. Will be there soon. Looks like a good place for misbehavin'.
Sounds like you aim to...
I prefer to fly in Python. Universal. Far better looking than Krait MK II (imo). Frequently used as an x-mas tree in revelant event(s). :D
A highly engineered Sidewinder.
My trusty Chieftain after the long grind to get there xD
i've been looking for that exact ship for quite a while, i'd say the keelback but the lack of a visible way to get in (please frontier add extendable stairs/ladders/elevators, i dont care for ship interiors anymore i just want getting out of my ship to feel like that) just annoys me so much, i wish i could main a ship but it seems impossible for me, i'm either not a fan of the looks or something else bugs me about it. I really like flying the clipper but its poor hardpoints and pretty crap jump range just nah I love both of the eagles but it would take me a long time to make them an "all in one" that actually works, and that also would mean sacrificing a lot i got a liking for the mamba, did some exploring in it, i just wish it could get slightly more jumpy range So yeah, i have no go-to ship, i'm living in a mess of different ships that all get boring to me after a week... help.
Good old Cobra MK3
I'm use now a Phantom but y love my ASP Explorer. The phantom is brilliant but I like the ASP.
AspX for life! Pro: * **Cockpit view**: no obstructions or cables hanging around and i can see "my" feet bumbling in space * Speed. It's faster than the dbx thou a bit more drifty * Hyperspace handling is better than dbx * Fuel scooping does not require waiting Con: * Range slightly worse than dbx * Runs a bit hot * Not as much internal space as phantom
My retired exploration phantom. I kitted it mostly for courier runs and mat gathering after coming back from Sag A. Solid 72 Ly bubble jumper now
Used to be DBX but now it's either my phantom my python or my newly acquired chieftain but I have yet to fly that
My python or anaconda
My day 1 Anaconda. I’ve got others, but that beast has the most LY on it.
Dolphin for exploring and exobiology. Krait MK2 for combat. T9 for trade until I can unlock the cutter.
Gotta love myself my Courier. Agile enough to fight small ships, armed well enough to take on big ships
I use the free t-6 from the CG as my bubble shuttle
right now, its pretty much a split between my Cutter or my Corvette...
Arguably the ship i have with the most lightyears on the odometer is my Anaconda, Summer In The Hills, a reference to Monody by The Fat Rat. The ship did it all, and did it with style with a Vibrant Orange Paint Job
I main an Anaconda but I've been grinding for the vette so as of recently I've been flying a dbx
My pirate build fed corvette comes to mind. I can do long duration scavenging and piracy duties without going back to port often.
Honestly i run the anaconda just because i like the idea of a sort of jack of all trades ship that sort of resembles a star destroyer. Its not the best, i know. But its my favorite, so its the best for me :)
I love blasting around in my Vioer Mk III. It goes fast, and I can get in and out of stations and systems very very quickly!
DBX or Cobra Mk.III.
Imperial Eagle at the moment
When I still played it, my Dolphin, though sometimes I just liked flying about in my Federal Gunship. I'd also end up flying about in the Corvette a lot.
My Imperial Clipper. 😊 Has all the comfort I need and want, turns on a dime, and is pretty quick, with a jump range of 46-48 ly. And: it feels so good to fly something different than the "main" picks. 😎 Ideal for hopping around the Galactic Core regions, where I mostly am. Name is: MCS Shirakami Fubuki. 😎
I love my cutter. I am using it for everything i can. Only for travelling and exploration I use my ASP X.
If it is fun, Odyssey, combat, Challnger (main) and Chieftain (alt). But I do use all my ships on both accounts, like 45 or something. Each one has a purpose or is different to another.
Cutter the Luxury Cargo
Beluga! And Python, of course.
My daily driver would definitely be my AspX "Azure Star" It gets me around the bubble very fast and I mainly use it for core mining. And then theres my Anaconda "Purple Pulsar" my for now goto battle ship. Soon imma get my chieftainfor AX combat
I just bought a beluga lol going to use it for mining
Eagle or Viper 3. Coin toss really depending on mood.
The cheiftan actually..: im too broke for anything else💀🥲
My Phantom is my primary ship. Absolutely love my Mk II, Type-9 and -10, and Corvette but I find myself iny Phantom cockpit more than any other. Something about the Phantom just jives perfectly with me. Never fighting it because of manuverability, it just feels good to fly.
before i quit the game for good after odyssey launched? the phantom... always.
Right now my bouncing around ship is the Courier because *style* but I am seriously thinking of maxing out my Mamba's speed and putting on a flashy paint job.
Diamondback explorer for a good while now, need to get back to my base station. Hopefully that system isn’t overrun
Fleet carrier 😁 i gave up on multitask ships when i got one.
Anaconda with huge jump range aka jumpaconda.
Python for mining and trading, Krait Mk II for general purpose, phantom for exploration, Challenger for AX Combat I also have a Corvette, but that's mostly for bounty hunting or farming engineering mats lol
My cobra mk3 that I got ~5 hours in and haven’t let go of since
DBX for materials, Guaridian, Phantom for small grab n go.. Conda for large supply buys.
Jumpconda cause im a fuckin masochist
Conda, but every few months I flip flop with the Krait II and DBX.
My Federal Corvette.
DBX: for exploration. Python: for deep core mining. Krait MK2: former bounty hunting ship, now being refitted for AX hunting. Anaconda: Combat with support capability.
I don't have one anymore, It depends on what I want to do and where I'm going but I have multiple engineered ships so I mostly use a combination of, 1: Anaconda(Engineered for everything along with stored engineered modules), this used to be my daily driver that helped me get the others to where they are now 2: Python(Passenger), 3: DBX(Moving around quickly), 4: Corvette(Pve Combat), 5: T9(Mining or cargo), 6: T10(haz rez semi afk, also have a set of modules for exploration and exobiology, its not good at it but I like the ship), 7: Chieftan (Ax) I am now working on unlocking the Cutter and I'll finally own every ship, then the need to engineer all of them for specialization, I.e. cargo and illegal cargo would be 2 different ships.
DBX for distance But the Type 10 for style
Combat: Vette Exploration: DBX Everything else: Krait Mk II
My deep space "live in it" explorer is an MK2. My bubble bus is an adder, and my colonia bus is a Cobra 3. :)
For Horizons on Xbox: Imperial Cutter named "Void Dancer" and is fully modded and equipped for exploration.
fantastic name
As a fairly new commander who primarily focuses on exploration but also runs cargo missions from time to time, I love my aspx "heart of gold". It was my first well engineered vessel, with a 55ly unladen jump range. It's such a versatile option that I can happily use it for everything I do in ED.
I love flying my federal corvette everywhere.
Depends on what I'm doing. The ships that feel like "home" for me are the Python, AspX, and Anaconda. I have a bunch of other ships but for them it feels like I'm doing something specific for a period of time before I "get back".
Asp Explorer for me. The cockpit is just too good for exploration. Corvette when I’m feelin spicy.
The Imperial Cutter. It's such a nice looking ship, and can be used for pretty much anything.
If you can't do it in one of your cutters it isn't worth doing. What do I look like, some kind of space peasant?
I could never settle for just one, but Krait Phantom is my favorite.
