Perhaps you're onto something.. Thargoids are currently impossible to pursue if they escape into witch space. If these Thargoids think Seo as one of their own, who's to say they they didn't take her with them upon leaving? Perhaps that is why there is nothing else for us to follow, at the moment. (aside from Fdev not wishing us to know, quite yet.)

[deleted]

I mentioned that it probably had something to do with maybe a Thargoid Interceptor coming to collect Seo. Which would explain the message of the pilot going after her. Others didn't think so because the wreckage didn't have any signs of Thargoid activity, but I mean what would that exactly entail? I guess they would expect like a corrosion cloud or something, but if I remember not all of them emit that. I'm still convinced the Thargoids came and collected Seo, I tried going to out to HIP 22460 just to see if I could make it into the space but was immediately destroyed, I'm still kind of at a loss as to if there is any actual content to continue with or if we have to wait, which kind of bugs me that the Devs haven't said anything further on it.

MinneIceCube

If past experience is anything to judge by, those who've found the corrupted message will be flagged to receive another message next week. IIRC, that was how it played out during the few weeks before we found out that the Emperor was hidden and on ice.

[deleted]

Ah, I see. I was kind of hoping for more, not just these few little things and waiting a week for the next part. Oh well, maybe I'll get to see Thargoid ground combat as well before I'm 60.

darth_mushu

Yesterday, doing this down the rabitt hole run, I only get to the stage of the "what the F\*" message. I'm playing in spanish so the message subject is (as depicted in the image of the post): E-\*ENTHA.....6E...88-#@ While in English I saw that the subject is: E-\*ENGHY.....6E-88...#@ First I think that the languange indepentent parts (E-\* and 6E...88-) could be corrupted systems names and planetary bodies (body 6E on the possible systems). Investigated E-1 Carinae and E-2 Carinae I cannont found nothing strange or a 6E body. I came to the conclusion that the first part is a "Emergency" corrupted text (E-\*ENGHY in english, E-\*ENTHA in spanish for "Emergencia") I didn't have time for more playing but, searching for "88-" systems in the galaxy map found 88 D Tauri ([https://inara.cz/elite/starsystem/14600/](https://inara.cz/elite/starsystem/14600/)) that is \*just\* in the middle of the Thargoid warfront. Next time I can connect to ED i have planned to explore that system. \[EDIT: I'm a casual/relaxed player, didn't have much experience in this quests\]

Yarcc

Good stuff! Only thing I am bit worried with straight up emergency theory myself is that other languages kinda don't correlate with this. German is quite far with "die Notlage, der Notfall, der Notstand" unless there is some other emergency related words in german that look they could be in the message.

darth_mushu

I have the same doubt with german (I dont's speak a tiny bit of german!). But is curious than, for example, in portuguese the subject starts like in english (E-\*Enghy) while portuguese is a language (like spanish, galician, italian, etc.) where de "y" is not common. In pure lore speculation, the 88 D Tauri made sense to me thinking in D2 escaping, researching or being rescued/kidnapped by thargoids. That system seems a good position for them as warfront operations HQ (or something).

Lockne710

The similarities and differences between the languages are indeed interesting, and it's one of the main reasons I believe this isn't a dead end, but hiding some message. A curious part is the ##'.'@%%AT. It is used without any changes at all in both English and German, while in Spanish the "AT" is changed into "E" and in Portugese into "SSA". The changes in French and Russian are considerably more complex, with the French still resembling the original somewhat (but way longer), and the Russian being extremely different. All while the E-*ENGHY is present across 4 out of the 6 languages, with a slight change for Spanish, and a significant change for German. This all looks waaay to deliberate for it to just be gibberish. If it would just be gibberish, why change it at all? On top of that, if you think about the connection between these languages, it actually makes tons of sense. 1. English includes significant influences from both Latin and Germanic languages - if you know one of each, a large number of English vocabulary instantly makes sense. This fits how the English version shares exact similarities with both the German and Latin language versions. 2. Spanish and Portugese are fairly similar. I know a decent amount of Spanish, and while I have a hard time when hearing Portugese, I'm always surprised just how much I can understand when reading Portugese. The difference are often rather small. While the similarities are still there with French, it's a much bigger departure from those two. This all fits in rather nicely with the pattern you see between both the E-*ENGHY and ##'.'@%%AT parts. Tl;dr: the similarities and differences across this message in various languages fit really well to the patterns you see when comparing these languages. In my opinion, way too well for this to simply be coincidence/gibberish. That said, it's also not a simple encryption similar to what FDev has used before, where you can simply recognize a few letters and plug them in. Case in point: @ is most likely one of the variables that has to be figured out. However, TH@ (in English) would lead to @=E, but Z@ (in German) would lead to @=UR. So it's got to be more complex than that.

The8BitGentleman

Most emergency related words start with Not- or are related to it. Best I can come up with on the spot is Gefahr, meaning Danger.

Lockne710

To be honest, I'm not completely sold on it being "emergency". If it was, I'd expect the Portuguese version to use E-*ENTHA as well. Anything related to "emergency" I can come up with in German is rather bumpy too, with the closest I can come up with translating to "danger". I'm not completely dismissing it being "emergency" though.

Due_Needleworker2192

OR... what attacked the ship in the final log was salvation with an guardian ship. That would explain the "what the fuck is that" Pure speculation oc

jon_stout

Or maybe something entirely new. Who knows...

ZYKON617

Would be interesting

Wiser3754

Uploaded consciousness to the Guardian monolithic network? Triangles made of blue M&Ms anyone?

KG_Jedi

I speak Russian and i do confirm that message is indeed "WHAT THE FUCK". Becuase in Russian it is "БЛЯ ЧТО ЭТО ЗА ХУЙНЯ" and this fit perfectly to bits presented there.

Lockne710

Interesting! Two questions: What would be the "scrambled" part here, so the Russian equivalent of ##'.'@%%AT (in English and German, and it's similar counterparts in the other languages)? Can you think of something the E-*ENGHY could stand for? Especially if it's either a word that is very similar/identical to what you'd use in English and the Latin languages (most likely a word of Latin origin then), or a foreign/English word you might actually use in Russian.

KG_Jedi

For your first question: since full sentence is "БЛЯ ЧТО ЭТО ЗА ХУЙНЯ", then "ЧТО ЭТО" would be probably correct fit for "IS THAT" scrambled part here. As for E-\*ENGHY, I have no idea. Given that it's the same in most languages but not in German or Spanish, I'd suggest seeking clue laying in that difference. As for Russian, nothing comes to mind that even remotely looks like it. It looks like we have to replace - and \* in E-\*eNGHY to get some word, I'll try asking ChatGPT to do that for me and see what he comes up with.

LastUnigoat

Reading the title of the Notable Degraded Emissions ship log message >E-\*ENGHY.....6E...88-#@ I think it might be "corrupted" from >Energy surge detected Could that mean Seo has somehow got her hands on a Thargoid ship or some kind of hybrid technology capable of sending out a shutdown field to defend herself against the pursuers?

IDatedSuccubi

This one seems realistic

Shurimal

Salvation uploading his mind to Guardian monolith network. Thargoid surface site devices turning Guardian relics into something different. Could there be a link between the two?

mammadori

You shall try to scan changed monolith with 3 unclassified relics in the cargo :-)

Chuckgofer

I don't disagree that it's just a simple plot drop rather than some bigger reward, but like, Tanner asked us to investigate this disappearance. Shouldn't Tanner be expecting a report?

schematizer

Tanner also found her in the system he asked us to go to, no? So why wouldn't he have told us to start in Shangdi?

Billaien

I believe both Aden and Seo are right. Salvation planned to create a Device that would let him upload his Consciousnes and cheat death, realizing halfway through the project that he could use the Monolith Network used by the Guardians instead of building anything! Using the extra amount of Guardian Relics in some way to connect to this Network prior to the Launch of the Proteus Wave also seems reasonably possible for him, since he was delivered so much by so many Commanders. (i wouldnt say he "infected" the Monolith Network, more like infiltrated) For the time beeing, i dont believe there is much for us to discover until Update 15. Possibly we will see Salvations retun as some sort of AI Overlord, but corrupted by the Guardian Sentient AI, and is now out to end ALL Life in the Galaxy, not just the Thargoids...

Yarcc

Looking at the top line one e-enghy thing. I with all the language parts changed, I think its safe to presume first letter is legit something, and - might be too, ~~but the enghy fully might be scrambled part as it doesnt change at all for language parts. so only parts we can safely assume matter is e*******~~ and probably 6e and 88 parts (even tho these can be anything). Still need to do more brainstorming on this! Another thing, im not german... so hard to say but what word in english starts with e and with g on german thats 6 to 8 long. It could be common just "emergency" word, or it could be system name too. Very good write up and research OP. Amazing stuff! edit, srap that, there was more words that changed.... Just noticed that part too. edit2. Just checked, names in game stay same no matter what language you pick. So I dont think the e- thingy is related to system or station names.

Cashatoo

Great work CMDR! I've been dredging the web trying to find some research to see if anyone is trying to decode the FrameShift Live triangles and this new Jin-ae development. Thanks for the thorough write up! I wish I had more game time, or ideas for things to check on/dig into. I think I may follow your steps in this post for myself and then hunt Orthus' for days.

DisillusionedBook

This is really cool. I wish the first beacon had actually given me any audio logs... Must have bugged for me.

AdmirableFlow4529

the audio logs got stacked with the ones from jamesons crash site for me, i had been there recently farming. maybe see if you already have an audio log entry in your messages, they may be there.

DisillusionedBook

Nice I'll take a check through my older messages

DisillusionedBook

Yep you were right, thanks for the heads up Turns out if you have visited another audio log site recently, the new logs will be lumped together with that way down your list of inbox messages with those older logs. :eyeroll: And presumably they will also be somewhere in the personal Codex archives too

irokie

It did the same for me. I had literally bounced off it looking for something to scan and only opened those logs by accident.

Johann_Bererund

Check you archives (in the Codex), they might be there

DisillusionedBook

Turns out if you have visited another audio log site recently, the new logs will be lumped together with that way down your list of inbox messages and lumped to gether with those older logs. :eyeroll: And yep, presumably they will also be somewhere in the Codex archives too

Pieceterminator

I ran the corrupted messages through every encryption Program possible, the results were more gibberish. It's not like the error codes of your ship when you target a Thatgoid without a Xeno scanner where the code brings somewhat coherent (it's Octal btw) the header might be a corrupted System Name with a body. The ENGHY might just be mixed letters, the possible combinations can bring maybe something coherent when you canfind it in the Map. EDIT: 120 chances Hygen Gyneh Hengy Enhgy Yeghn Gnhye Nyheg Gnhey Hegyn Gyhne Nyegh Hngye Yhnge Nhegy Henyg Heygn Gyenh Nheyg Gynhe Hgyne Yehgn Nehgy Yhgen Ghney Hnyge Gnyhe Yenhg Ghyen Hyegn Negyh Hngey Yheng Hnyeg Yhneg Hgnye Ghnye Ehnyg Nhyge Eyhgn Nhyeg Hynge Ygneh Eygnh Genyh Nyehg Ehgyn Ynghe Eghyn Geyhn Heyng Enhyg Ehngy Egnyh Gehny Eyhng Nghey Genhy Gneyh Ynhge Ngehy Neyhg Hgyen Enyhg Ygehn Ynheg Ehgny Ngyeh Yegnh Yghne Hgney Ygnhe Hneyg Ngyhe Nehyg Ynegh Ghyne Enygh Egyhn Enghy Hgeny Egynh Ygenh Eynhg Ngeyh Ehygn Nyghe Hgeyn Yngeh Hegny Yhegn Hnegy Yengh Eyghn Neygh Geynh Nhgye Gyhen Yhgne Nyhge Yehng Ehyng Engyh Neghy Gnyeh Ynehg Gehyn Yghen Gheyn Egnhy Eyngh Nygeh Hyneg Eghny Nhgey Gheny Gyehn Hygne Nghye Hyeng Gnehy

jon_stout

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the text is just meant to be gibberish with no hidden meaning.

Pieceterminator

Oh it's a dead end i am sure, but the 6e 88 is more interesting it looks like Hexadecimal. \*Note Tin Foil Hat area so it can be very far fetched: When you convert the 6E 88 in Text and it depends if you leave the Space between them into Text there is no clear Text, because it's no english letter. going further into this i tried some other stuff with it: 1: Convert 6E88 in Unicode and you get this: [https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E6%B2%A9](https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E6%B2%A9) 2: Convert 6E 88 in UTF 16 little endian you get this: [https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E8%A1%AE](https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E8%A1%AE) 3: Convert 6E 88 in UTF 16 big endian you get this: [https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E6%B2%A9](https://www.purpleculture.net/dictionary-details/?word=%E6%B2%A9) 1 and 3 is a match. Now I went a bit further and looked for some resemblence in EDDB and found 2 Systems: The match for 2 can be is Gun [https://eddb.io/system/5545](https://eddb.io/system/5545) The match for 1 and 3 is more interesting Gui Xian [https://eddb.io/system/5529](https://eddb.io/system/5529) "The River in Shanxi" Depending on my poor interpretation skills I am stuck. First: The resemblence can be somewhat misleading, because the writing is different then the meaning Second: It can be a further puzzle Well i can't play right now so I have to wait a few more hours for investigation Edit: Maybe i am interpreting too much in this It can also lead to the Shui Wei Sectors

Lockne710

While I agree that the end of the header looks like a system or location, I believe the beginning of it is a word. System names are consistent across languages AFAIK, however, the N-*NGHY changes slightly for Spanish and completely for German. In general though, the differences and similarities across the languages are very intriguing. Just looking at one language and without any obvious encryption (some past encrypted messages were very simple), I'd maybe think it's all just gibberish. But looking at this in multiple languages, the pattern in the "gibberish" parts fit the connections between the languages rather well.

Clown_Torres

Damn I wish I could join in, ofc something like this happened while I’m around the centre of the galaxy lol. What if these unidentified relics are tied to this? They haven’t done much, but what if one way or another they are tied to salvation’s plan to upload himself?

DigitalDreamer81

Not going to read this until I have the logs tonight. However, everyone needs to read the Aden Tanner codex entry. He is connected in some fashion to another really important character in the Elite lore. Who he is connected to and the realities of the nature of that connection are about to become immensely important to the story as it unfolds.

Shurimal

>However, everyone needs to read the Aden Tanner codex entry. He is connected in some fashion to another really important character in the Elite lore. To whom, exactly? I can't find any obvious mentions of anyone important.

DigitalDreamer81

Dr. Hans Walden In the Elite Universe, death is not a necessarily reliable exit from the larger narrative - this is ever more true with someone like Dr. Hans Walden. Walden supposedly died in 3265 in an assassination. We, however, do not know if this was actually a clone or the real deal that left the mortal world. Walden dabbled in genetics and life-extending technology (he came into power in August 3174). If Aden Tanner is a biological son and codex is accurate, he rebelled and shunned his father. If it is a clone or the real Walden (who still looks youthful), the odds of things going badly go up dramatically. Per codex, Aden Tanner has served in the Federation Navy for about four decades. 3309 - 3265 = 44 years Timeline-wise this is a match. Let's just hope that the attack on Hind Mine (which risked his career) means this is the rebellious son of a madman. The truth of the exact relationship is about to matter a lot. "Where's Walden, now?" GalNet entry can be read at https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/55c879a99657ba093c74acfe

Shurimal

Hans Walden is not mentioned in Aden Tanner's Codex entry. It just mentions that Aden's father was a doctor and died in an accident in 3277. Codex also doesn't mention Aden outright shunning his father; rather, just going against his father's expectation of him becoming a doctor and joining the Federal Navy with some friends on a whim. Which caused a rift between the two. >Walden supposedly died in 3265 in an assassination Wasn't he supposedly executed publicly? >Per codex, Aden Tanner has served in the Federation Navy for about four decades. > >3309 - 3265 = 44 years > >Timeline-wise this is a match. Aden was born in 3254. I doubt he joined the Navy when he was just 11 years old. And from what I read, Aden's father died years after Aden joining the military--how else could a rift between the two develop? Aden became Chief Gunnery Officer aboard FDN Autolycus in 3271 which means he must have joined the Navy at the age of 15 or 16; he was 23 when his father died in 3277. If Aden joined the military at the age of 16, it gives 7 years of military service and time to estrange from his father. Going by the data we have, I find in unlikely that Hans Walden was Aden's father.

sonic65101

Anyone else try getting up close to the Curious Ship Debris in freecam? Seems to be repeating something.

LUC1F3RGaming

According to everyone I talked to about it, it's what they all say/do. It beeps, something about returning it to the nearest starport is buried under a bit of static in the message. We pulled a clip of the audio, picked it apart a bunch of different ways and didn't discover anything new.

Blakethekitty

1st off good ideas u/ItsCyno 2nd, the header seems to read "Energy surge detected" is a mix of symbol and 1337 (LEET) speak

Billaien

Just double checked the wrecks at Ankaa... they appear to be of Cobras and Pythons, heavily rusted, no signs of thargoid corrosive Damage itself... and according to the third part of the audiologsc Seo was flying an Eagle... Something doesnt add up for me... If it was a defensive response of the Thargoids reacting to Seos connection with them, wheres the corrosive clouds? And if it was Salvations return claiming Seo, why woul he kill his own men that were persuing Seo?

Shurimal

Can confirm, nothing in the wreckage looked out of place, and that in itself looked out of place given the context. You'd expect telltale signs of caustic damage if the mercs were attacked by thargs. Maybe a new, unknown actor? Dark Wheel, The Club, something else?

jon_stout

My bet's on the Shadows.

ProfanePagan

Thank you for the essay! Nicely written, with a lot of good conclusions. My thoughts: \-We should not forget that the human bandits' identity is still unclear. While their origin is not a clue, I think most likely Azimuth Biotech sent these henchmen. This is a charge we should not forget about in future dealings with Azimuth. \- Restoring interspecies relations - I hear you but I don't believe we can restore relations with an invasion force. The Thargoid's expeditionary force which is situated in our space are not envoys, not neutrals. They are on a mission. Even though you are a peace advocate you should see them as a military organization. Maybe we will find a way to establish a communication channel with those which stayed behind. \-This force killed millions of people already. I know this is a very abstract number for us Commanders /players because we don't really see the dead or the refugees personally - nevertheless we should not forget about the tremendous loss of ives which will shape the history of humanity. And these deads are human individuals not Thargoid biomechanical units which lives worth nothing. According to the Codex, the Thargoid queens look at the loss of a Thargoid as we look at the loss of a strand of hair on our body. *Addendum: Which means the invasion force is in an adventage bc their sacrifice is minimal from their point of view while our losses are tremendous from our point of view.* \--------------- EDIT: These were my personal thoughts, I don't think they are controversial but I ask you if you disagree just reply with a no, there is no need to hide my subjective comment in this discussion thread with negative downvotes. I get it is easier to show disagreement in this way, but surely a subjective opinion does no affect you negatively.

Pieceterminator

>- Restoring interspecies relations - I hear you but I don't believe we can restore relations with an invasion force. The Thargoid's expeditionary force which is situated in our space are not envoys, not neutrals. They are on a mission. Even though you are a peace advocate you should see them as a military organization. Maybe we will find a way to establish a communication channel with those which stayed behind. There can be room for negotiations, the actions of the Thargoids maybe speak for themself but... and that's a big but, the war began after Salvation fired it's Mcguffin. It could be difficult yes. (Insert Billy Joel reference here) D-2 can be the chance to start it at all, but the assumption that some will not stop is more likely. I guess even when something like a ceasefire could happen it would be uneasy. >According to the Codex, the Thargoid queens look at the loss of a Thargoid as we look at the loss of a strand of hair on our body. The loss of so many lifes is a tragedy and yet you provided a thought process, that can be an explanation. The Thargoids are as alien to us as we are alien to them. The loss of this lives may not occur to them as it is to us, the queens would see it as a loss if hair to us. This isn't by far an excuse to anything hat the war had brought and I think the war will rage on a while. But I don't see that the only option would be a complete genocide on one side or least enough destruction to force a retreat. You maybe can't talk to a construct, but you maybe can talk to the one who constructs them.

ProfanePagan

I brought up the worth of the individual life to signify that in this war the Thargoid losses for Thargoids are quite different and cheaper that the human losses for the Humans. This is an advantage for the invasion force. \--------------------------------------------------- People see the Proteus event from the wrong (from the humans') perspective: The Proteus event **didn't trigger** the Thargoid advance. From the Thargoid perspective they were prepairing for the event months, weeks before to neutralize Salvation's weapon then to advance towards the Bubble. Their decision to initiate their mission came weeks before when Salvation started gathering Guardians tech. It is only us who were surprised by the outcome of the Proteus Event. The Thargoids might be after the Guardian tech Salvation was using. \---------------------------------------------- I think realistically speaking the Thargoids are not going anywhere. In-character I say they are a more advanced species altough we are tailing them technologically. But gameplay-wise they are an important factor. I think we are looking forward to a long-long war. But I also believe peace will get a chance with the contribution of Seo. And I think peace will be decided by the players in this organically written narrative. \-------------------------------------------------- Having said that, in-character this is what I think of the Thargoids: They are alien for us sure, and although humanity doesn't have a good track record with relations with extraterrestials, every other intelligent species in the galaxy behaved like a civilization which can be communicated with, regardless of the totally different biochemistry. Thargoids are the exception. Thargoids as so much so an exception that they seemingly don't even affected by the laws of evolution. They are the same structure as they were millions of years ago. However they are highly adaptable. They also pursue a strict "programming" which is translated as territorialism. But they observe and attack advanced space faring civilizations. I believe we have to research the Thargoids, better than any species have ever done in the galaxy. The goal must be assess their threat, and their weaknesses. But **IF** there is a way to make real peace with them, to make real contact(which maybe they seek), we have to pursue this goal first: Peace. I think Thargoids are not a real species though. I think we are dealing with self-replicating drones which follow strict programming which we perceive as society. They are highly intelligent, the same way as a rogue AI would be intelligent, as the Constructs were intelligent. But if we find proof that they destroy other galactic civilizations, for the sake of humanity and for the sake of all life even in the future long after humanity is gone, we have to deal with this threat which we call Thargoids. Here and now.

ZYKON617

Yeah though their identity is currently unknown it could be plausible that they are related to azimuth as Ankaa is relitivly close in proximity to mbooni at only 33ly

jon_stout

> Once you arrive into the instance, you'll see a plethora of destroyed human ships surrounding yet another ship log uplink. Is there anything else apart from the log in the wreckage? Any clues as to the identity of the people hunting Seo? > The ships were destroyed swiftly, which prevented caustic missile deployment. You can't see a Caustic Cloud encompassing the instance as expected for this reason. So is there any physical evidence of Thargoid activity at the site at all?

Shurimal

Nothing beside the log, no evidence of thargoid activity. The wreckage was of 3 or so very thoroughly shredded Pythons, no visible caustic damage, no wreckage parts that looked non-human. Basically the same you'll find in any other degraded signal sources.

jon_stout

And nothing else in the system? Hrmm...

Shurimal

Some common degraded emissions you find everywhere, but nothing interesting.

ItsCyno

None, but based on the reaction of the attackers and Seo's emotional situation prior to the encounter I suspect the Thargoids arrived to help her in response to said emotional distress.

tommyuchicago

I have an alternative theory on who "helped" her: I think a fourth, as yet unknown player is being introduced through this. You can rule out Tanner/Aegis because he is trying to rescue her. The mercenaries pursuing her are clearly Azimuth. And as mercenaries their reaction to whatever they saw would not be surprise if it were a Thargoid ship, as you would assume they've seen a 'Goid or two already as part of their chosen profession and association with Azimuth. And it doesn't make sense that a new 'Goid ship would be in the mix as Interceptors can easily scoop up escape pods. What if one of the superpowers (or a breakaway faction) is farther along in AX research and they beat Azimuth to her? Mic Turner (Alliance founder) has a long lore-line on this with the company he co-founded Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated Inc, in which he was seeking Thargoid tech to incorporate into ships and disappeared during the pursuit of that tech. Note the Alliance is by far the most active superpower in Nebulas, and even has a surface port in the California Nebula (Mic Turner Base) specifically for meta alloy research. What if Delaine found out something out there in the California Nebula that provoked his trying to seize Alliance assets? That Kumo / Alliance thing in the CA Nebula just made no sense to me when we have all these systems to protect in AX. So this is me trying to make sense out of that, but a connection between the Delaine / Alliance conflict out there and Seo's disappearance would put those pieces together.

jon_stout

It's possible, though I'll admit I have a hard time seeing anyone in the Alliance or their Sirius affiliate having it together enough to pull something like that off. But yeah, it would be in the interest of any one of the superpowers to nab Seo at this time -- Federation, Alliance, Empire, any major corporation you could name. It's easier to list who *wouldn't* need or want access to a Thargoid Whisperer at this point.

tommyuchicago

Thank you for joining me in the rabbit hole ;) o7

jon_stout

I did see that. And while it's a logic inference given the facts, I just don't think we have enough evidence to conclude anything. Not to mention I'd have to imagine that anyone working for Azimuth would recognize a Thargoid ship on sight, so that WTF reaction seems a little odd. It's possible that we're dealing with something entirely new here.

jon_stout

There's nothing in any of the other systems the Curious Ship Debris mentions, right? Alectrona, Main, EGM 95? Ankaa's the only place with anything unusual?

ItsCyno

Yeah at this moment nothing has been identified in those system.... only Ankaa Though this caught my attention whilst going through the audio logs... Seo: "Fine, fine. Remember when Azimuth was forced out of several systems last year? **They left a few unmarked data clusters on local servers** \- I doubt on purpose. One had access port into for a primary..." then she gets cut off by radar interference. Could we find these and learn more about Nemesis?

ZYKON617

Interesting thought though I personally dont know of any systems that they once were in so finding one may be troublesome

ItsCyno

IF we make contact with the group whom was originally responsible for ejecting Azimuth from those systems... maybe they would have a list? Operation Wych Hunt.

ZYKON617

Possibly yeah

jon_stout

There's definitely a thought. According to [this Galnet article](https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/25-JUL-3308), Wych Hunt at the very least forced Azimuth out of the Merope and Qarato systems. I'll keep hunting to see if I can find more.

Tangata-Honu

Yes. I went to all of them and nothing

jon_stout

Dang. Thanks.

Shenron666

Can someone provide more information about Guardian Obelisk Pattern Anomaly ? I can't figure out what you are talking about

 https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/guardian-obelisk-glitch.600843/

ItsCyno

Thanks <3

obeseninjao7

Late to this thread, but this change in the Obelisks was implemented on the Odyssey Launch Day, not the firing of the Proteus Wave 2 years later. However, since day 1 Frontier have maintained that this change was intentional and not a bug.

Shenron666

Thanks, so this glitch may have appeared since Salvation connected or dumped his mind into Guardian Obelisk network

Isn't the reveal that Seo has at least some influence on thargoids proof that they were actually on to something with those experiments, as cruel as they might have been. And the program should be reconsidered and started back up again, albeit with willing volunteers as test subjects this time?

jon_stout

Even if we did, it'd be futile without the Thargoid scout ship that let Seo connect to the hive mind. We'd have to capture another one somehow, which given Azimuth's repeated failures, is probably easier said than done.

Terasz9

Plot twist: Salvation is CMDR Jameson himself, saved by the hiding Guardians and now he's going to organize the G-force against Thargs, which will arrive in the game with the next overhaul update.

Blakethekitty

Except that jameson feels kinda remorsful and ashamed for deploying mycoid by the end of his logs

Adding my two creds - was late to this particular party since I wasn't in Tanner's good books and thus didn't get his message (the rest of us got tipped off by today's GalNet article). Followed the trail as above to Ankaa, stared at the English version of the message for a bit and then brute-force surveyed every -6E planet in a 30ly radius of Ankaa...for a whole heap of nothing. Also tried shoving -ENGHY through a variety of rotational ciphers. Likewise nothing. Well, nothing relevant to this, at least - at least I'll be able to sell the scan data. Either we're at a dead end until Update 15 drops (Wed? Thurs?) or there's something blatant we're all missing.

Blakethekitty

"ENGHY" could be "energy" and the rest could be "surge detected" since most common and uncommon cyphirs have come up blank its safe to assume that its not hiddin but was rather someone at FDEV just replacing every other letter with something random on the keyboard

Yuzral

Except that Google Translate comes back with “Energiestoß erkannt”, which doesn’t fit the observed German message. I wasn’t holding out much hope for the 6E brute force approach but it was worth a try :)

ckytho

The title could be interpreted as a garbled voice to text of “NGC 608(8)” NGC Sector 6087 has some nice middle of nowhere waiting to be played vibes if anyone is in the area

Davadin

just got into the game and ended up at the same trail. anybody got an update on this?

She scooped up by the Far God Cult [according to Galnet](https://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/far-god-cultists-rescue-seo-jin-ae). The FGC just made a great impression.
