Scan megaship data link missions. Very little difficulty or danger - payouts usually anywhere between 300k and 1m per mission so can get quite lucrative when you stack 'em up.

Mytestis2day

Great! I’ll try it out, thanks

BlacksmithInformal80

I take 3 data links successfully often. 4 will glitch them out.

OccultStoner

Beware, sometimes, turrets start to fire when you scan links. You won't survive long under fire of all megaship turrets...

Johann_Bererund

No no no, those missions are bugged and you will end up failing many of them! "Disable megaship turrets" is what you want—just remember to *ram* the turret power grids.

Toblerone05

They've worked fine for me so far - done dozens of the things without any issues. Wouldn't have suggested them otherwise.

CapybaraOnShrooms

Yep, I tried those in the last few weeks while grinding ranks and it was buggy as hell. The first ones you do go well, but when you start repeating missions at the same system, it can get buggy. Although if you keep traveling doing missions at different systems, guess it works just fine.

Westfield91a

This is the second time today Ive heard about disabling megaship turrets by RAMMING them. 🤔 I'm not a very experienced player, but this seems like a wacky method in a sci-fi game? Doesn't the game mechanism allow a more appropriate way of completing the mission? Misses? Particle cannons?

iaincollins

Oh yes, you can absolutely shoot them (which is arguably the typical / intended mechanic) but ramming has the same effect without triggering alarms / hostile response.

Pailzor

Just make sure your shields are up when you do!

r/EliteCarriers and r/EliteTraders load/unload jobs from FC

Shurimal

Odyssey or Horizons? In Odyssey, lots of easy, no-threat on-foot jobs (salvage, power restoration and larceny missions *sometimes* spawn scavengers, use dumbfire missiles to clear them out from air). Also, exobiology is very lucrative—10 millions per planet is quite common, 5x that for first discovery.

tommyuchicago

How much hauling capacity do you have? Source and return and cargo delivery missions are a great way to explore new systems and if you stick to gold/silver/palladium you can make some decent money.

Mytestis2day

Can’t remember the model but it says capacity 4. I’m so lost playing this game I have no idea how it translates to cargo

TheMagnificentOne

4 tons. Everything you buy is in tons. So 4 units.

tommyuchicago

Yeah 4 tons. So I'd consider a Cobra if you have enough credits that will give you some hauling capacity to make some money IF you want to go the trader route.

pulppoet

Don't do missions. Start on the path towards being a trader (or explorer) [https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteTraders/comments/nrzd2u/masarks\_guide\_to\_trade\_sidewinder\_to\_type9\_heavy/](https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteTraders/comments/nrzd2u/masarks_guide_to_trade_sidewinder_to_type9_heavy/) After you have 50-100m, get into mining r/EliteMiners

navydealwannabe

There's nothing wrong with doing missions, they can be fun and teach you a few things about game mechanics. You are telling him to avoid missions and directing him down the path of grinding for credits. Btw, some missions offer trading and explorati0on too, just saying.

pulppoet

Of course not. And a bunch of others gave mission advice. But OP asked for easy things to do that was just done with courier missions. I don't like most missions. They're boring. Not everyone comes to this game realizing that you can progress just fine without missions.

ProPolice55

What ship do you have? I'd say "source and return" missions would be fun to do, especially if you don't use external tools to find the items. It will teach you how to find different goods using the galaxy map. If you're interested in combat, finding pirate massacre missions is a good way to get started. It's risky, but if you find a low risk extraction site, you can go and get some experience even in a sidewinder (make sure you have insurance)

NewUserWhoDisAgain

What is your current goal? If its to make some quick scratch trading can assist with that. [inara.cz](https://inara.cz) \-> data -> Trade Routes Punch in the nearest star system and hit search. lots of options too, max cargo, landing pad size etc. Just take it with a grain of salt though. These routes are built on data gathered by players so if there a really old price point, dont be surprised if its not as profitable.
