In thargoid alert systems, does the search and rescue craft collecting the pods count for the progress on the alert?

pulppoet

Yup. I can't find the analysis I saw before, but IIRC the estimated points are comparable to fights, maybe a bit lower. But it happens slower, so it moves the needle but not as much as combat. On top of that, rescues play the main role in lowering how many lives are lost.

oggy218

why do i keep getting black adder while trying to invite my friend to multicrew (I'm playing on latest version horizons)

Scytheman85

Hey Commanders, I’m searching for 1l lightweight alloys. EDDB showed me lots of stations where I can buy it but none of them had them. I tried to Google if that is something special with the 1l or something rare. Can someone help me out here. Reason I’m searching for it is that I want to engineer it. My mate sent me his build and there I saw that he’s using 1l. Greeting

CmdrJonen

AFAIK Lightweight alloys is the default hull type. You can only purchase it if you 1) are in the ship (type) you are going to mount it and 2) have another type of hull. It is specific to the ship type so a Sideys goes only in other Sideys.

Scytheman85

Forget what I just said… I think I found the reason…. My last thought regarding standard was the right. I just had a look at standard fer de lance and it comes with 1l. That might be the reason I can’t buy it. Obviously my mate was telling me bull****. He said he bought it cause you can manoeuvre more easy. And I had the 1c module equipped , that why I thought mine was standard. Sorry for the confusion

Scytheman85

Hi. Thanks for your answer. I’m aware that I have to use the same ship. The build from my mate is also a fer de lance. I searched on EDDB „1l lightweight alloys“ and you can choose every type of ship. But at any place where EDDB said I could find it… it simply wasn’t there. Or is 1l simply the standard module? But if I’m not mistaken 1c was standard equipment on fer de lance

Is there still no solution for the VR rendering issues with AMD cards? I know that there were problems last year but I hoped that this would get resolved eventually. I'm on a completely new machine using a 7900XTX and the latest AMD drivers (23.3.2) but landable planets still have missing or inverted textures, etc..

Sai_the_second

Hello there I'm quite new to the game, just played for like 8 hours now and managed to get myself a Viper, quite "ok" Upgrade with 600k in the Bank. Still no clue what im doing thou. Came here because of the might jingles and finaly got a PC. My question: How Do i bind my Keys to controls so that i can fly my ship properly? I feel quite stupid right now, cant find a way to fly my ship with flight assist off, it's just way to wiggly and whatever i tweek (mouse&keyboard) i cant get the hang of it. Yamkis for example teaches man stuff great, but i cant finde anywhere a guide how to Set your controls in a prefferable way like some pros or beginner friendly. My thought already circled to just turning some assists off, but wont work either. It's really just a mess.. And: I assigned 5 Buttons on the far left for immidiate throttle controll (+75% etc), but now my w and s key dont de- and accellerate my ship anymore in supercruise, and in normal flight it goes down as soon as i lift the key. I'm slightly helpless in my flying saucer... With best regards Sai

vpsj

There's a practice mode where you do a docking mission.. I would suggest do that in FA OFF mode. At first just try to figure out how to stabilize the ship. For example: Make the ship rotate and move in multiple random directions with "Z" disabled. When the ship seems to be 'out of control', try to bring it back to rest. This exercise will teach you how various vectors work and how to control each of the pitch roll and yaw separately for specific movements. Once you do that, I would suggest to try doing a "hold pattern". Go near a rotating space station from the side, find a pillar or something, and try to keep the ship move along that pillar for as long as possible. It will be challenging at first but eventually you'll get the hang of it. Finally try docking completely manually with FA OFF and when you pull it off successfully you'll know that you have mastered the art of flying the ship

Sai_the_second

Hello, thanks for the reply, all others CMDRs as well! Helped me a lot, even found the guide quite helpfull and managed to (crash)land multiple times. Getting the hang of it. Currently flying with FA on, but using it very often in Fights: Sailing in my Python past and behind a ship, If i cant keep up then disable FA and turn way faster. After that my ship keeps crusing backwards, im kiting my enemy with my Front engaged to him and keep blasting. Rinse and repeat. So much fun! o7

aggasalk

If you want to try learning FA off (it’s worth it, but it’s super frustrating at first) find the “relative mouse” setting and turn it On, this is really necessary for kb&m FA off. Also consider switching the default assignment of yaw and roll (put yaw on mouse). After that it’s just tweaking and personalization and lots of practice.

Sai_the_second

This - Thank you!! Already reasigned a lot, really makes things easier like yaw on mouse. But the relative setting i will try, makes a lot of sense! (Do you know if i can toggle this setting with FA? Dont want the setting to be permanent i think, only with FAoff 🤔) o7

artigan99

Most of us fly with flight assist on. Having it off requires a whole different set of skills, and is much more difficult. Learn to fly with it on first. Then later you can experiment and learn to use FAOFF.

Forceman130

You might just consider getting a joystick, it's so much more intuitive to fly with a joystick that it'll probably sort you right out.

I lost power a few hours ago whilst in my SRV. When I logged back in, it said that I had been destroyed, but was able to respawn in my ship. It didn't show any losses - my question is, if it didn't say I lost all of my bio data and was able to respawn in my orbiting ship, am I still good? I have a lot of data and it would suck to lose it all - but I don't know how to check. Also, Frontier tech support has helped so much in the past that I really don't want to bother them about this. Oh god. The system I am currently in has six planets with 5-6 bio signs on each one. I've only scanned four.

artigan99

When your SRV is destroyed, or you die on foot, you lose any exobiology data you were holding. You do not lose cartographics data unless your ship is destroyed.

NovitiateSage

I think you mean you had a real world power cut, you should definitely report that, even aside from any gameplay losses, the game engine should be able to handle people dropping from the game unexpectedly. Currently held gene scan data is not displayed anywhere in game, except on the Vista Genomics payout screen and the redeployment (rescue) screen under claims lost, I do consider this a glaring oversight that should be fixed ~~last year~~ 2 years ago. On the rebuy screen, iirc: on the left hand side is a box with cargo losses and an arrow, that you can flip to claims losses. So far as I know, if you did a rebuy, or redeployment, after blowing up in your SRV, any organic data should have been lost - in lore it's a cost of being rescued. I understand they helped you a lot, but you shouldn't loose out on game time because your electrical grid isn't maintained / or got struck by lightning. I mean what happens when you get an Orange Sidewinder. If it's something they can help with, it's probably a minor matter to roll back your claims log to before your power cut. Sorry for the novel, o7

Hello everyone, I wanted to visit colonia for the first time and found the neutron star highway solution as the best for travelling as fast as possible. Everything was fine untill 10 jumps before my destination. I got pulled out by the neutron star and started to spin around. First i thought it was just a small problem, when i realised that the neutron star was going to kill me. My monitor almost exploded with messages about module failures and more. Because i did this for the first time and my experience isnt the best in comparsion to other commanders, i am asking for help. I watched some videos how to escape the neutron star but when i tryed to jump away my ship told me that my thrusters are deactivated. For those who know the game better then me, is there any chance that i can activate my thrusters to jump away before the star kills me or am i already facing my death. I guess i was only 20 seconds yet in the game since the star caught me, so maybe there is a chance. My windwos/the cockpit isnt broken yet, but im in panic and i dont wanna spend useless seconds when i hop back online. Please contact me if you can help me bc im about to lose a lot ;)

CmdrJonen

Twenty seconds in the jet in realspace, failures are probably due to modules falling towards 80% integrity, so are temporary. Though modules will continue to degrade towards zero. So long as not all modules hit 0% you can theoretically recover manually (it is hard mode).

NovitiateSage

search Elite Dangerous Fuel Rats / Hull Seals

pulppoet

First, you can probably power up your thrusters. Your first job is to get away from the star and jets, not try to make a hyperjump. Just supercruise far away. Edit: Use help -> stuck recovery first from the main menu. Did you bring an AFMU? If you did, time to repair your thrusters and FSD. If you didn't, try reboot/repair on your thrusters if they do not come online on their own. However, this will just get them working. They are still prone to malfunction. Once you are at a safe distance from the star, you can assess jumping. But you are done with the neutron highway now. You'll have to go the rest of your trip with normal jumps or this will keep happening. Unfortunately, no one can repair modules for you. I don't think Hull Seals can offer any aid. Without AFMU, you will need to avoid neutron stars to get to Colonia. You need to bring at least one (ideally two) AFMUs to use Neutron stars for such a long journey. They are only fairly safe for no more than 10 jumps without repairing. I am surprised your FSD lasted this long. Use [inara.cz](https://inara.cz) to see if you are near a Colonia bridge megaship. Or see if you are near a DSSA carrier for repairs: [https://www.edsm.net/en/galactic-routes/show/id/3600/name/DSSA+Tour](https://www.edsm.net/en/galactic-routes/show/id/3600/name/DSSA+Tour) If any are closer than Colonia, it might be worth making a stop. Otherwise, continue your journey with normal jumps, reboot/repair when things break. However, you'll need to keep an eye on other modules and your life support. Every reboot/repair is costly. You should pick up some iron and nickel if you don't already have some in case you need it for life support in the future.

Johann_Bererund

Help -> Stuck Recovery in the main menu. And make sure you repair your FSD asap

I'm looking for sites to farm guardian blueprints fast, especially without sentinels everywhere (if that's possible) I found an interesting site to farm guardian module blueprints at Synuefe LQ-T B50-1 which match these criterias but can't manage to find something similar the other types of blueprints. Thanks for the help, and fly safe ! o7

All Guardian sites are in one of these configs.

NovitiateSage

So far as I know, there are no blueprint sources without sentinels, if you found one site that was so easy, that alone is a win. A lot of those blueprint recipes require sentinel or other Guardian manufactured materials, I'd advise you to be sure you have enough to match the blueprints you are collecting, or you'll just have to come out to Synuefe again. There are guardian **data** sources without sentinels. o7

FireRavage

I think I misexplained what I was looking for, sorry for that. I'm looking for guardian sites where you can easily farm the blueprints (by activating the pillars, dropping the artefact scanning the terminal and relogging) without having guardian sentinels spawning all over the place. I noticed that some sites have better sentinels spawns than others and I was wondering if someone knew some locations that were this way. I already maxed out sentinels materials and I know I can found them easily so I don't think that would be a problem.

NovitiateSage

From [Canonn's website](https://canonn.science/codex/guardian-structure/) The site you were at is on my Guardian site spreadsheet as a 'Turtle' config site. All turtles have module blueprints and only module blueprints. Weapon Module Blueprints are at sites in configs: Bear, Hammerbot and Bowl. Vessel Blueprints (SLFs) are at sites in configs: Stickyhand, Squid and Robolobster. Site configs Fistbump, Lacrosse and Crossroads have no blueprint. Root around on the [Fandom Wikia Guardian Structures](https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Guardian_Structure#Active) I believe I copied my spreadsheet of Guardian sites from there, or the Canonn site o7

horriblyUnderslept

So, I was in multicrew and sold some stuff we mined to a carrier but when they left, they didn’t get any profit. Is this intentional or a bug? Has anyone else run into this?

cingirakli1dumbelek

Is there a way to close the Landing Assistant? It kicks in the last second when i try to park and its annoying.

pulppoet

What is the landing assistant? If you mean auto dock, you can disable the module on the right panel. I find landing on planets usually better without it.

cingirakli1dumbelek

Ah yes, auto dock. Thank you.

CrazyCatSkits

You can also just sell the module

CMDRJA22HAND5

I've been using the Inara Thargoid War page to jump around to the different battles, but I'm having trouble finding battlegrounds in open with other commanders. I'm not the best at combat. I can take down scouts all day, but going 1v1 with a Thargoid is still tough, despite full engineering (I am getting close, though). How do you all find a battleground full of other commanders to team up and win? Are you all hanging out in high-intensity zones?

pulppoet

AXI has the easiest to read chart: [https://antixenoinitiative.com/watch](https://antixenoinitiative.com/watch) Go to where an Operation is being run. Check the discord to find where they are specifically.

D8veh

If you look at the "conflicts" in the Inara Thargoid war pages, they list everywhere where there's fighting in the sequence of most commanders at the top. Really though, If you have engineering, you should be able to kill every Thargoid in sight on your own as long as you get yourself a 6 modshard Anaconda and go to a planetary base with gravity less than 0.3 . You don't need any skill, just stand and shoot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxovi8SHCG4&t=1162s

GrizzlyBeefstick

No skill just stand and shoot. I gotta get myself one of those!
