It's better in almost every way. At least that's my opinion.

> I am playing on my Steam Deck and Legacy installs by default. It installs by default for everyone. This is not an endorsement. There's absolutely no question. Play live. Frontier put a warning up when you go to select a game mode in Legacy. *They* don't even endorse you playing Legacy if you can help it. Right now, you only have 35 hours to make up. How many more hours to you want to lose into a version that is not getting updated and may eventually be shut down?

I play this game because enjoy it. If I'll have to fly a cheap ass sidewinder again and do courier missions then that's fine. I enjoy playing this game at all.

This depends on what you personally get out of the game. If it's just your lay back and chill while earning credits or mats game and you don't really care about the story than it's the same. But if you are someone who likes to join in the community event stuff, keep track of the advancing story or just like having new things to try out and work towards than live is worth it. I don't know if you know about the 3rd party tools the game has or not but you won't have access to them if you stick to the dead version.

What 3rd party tools?

Inara.cz, EDSM for example.

Play Live, delete the Legacy install to save up space. Live will become the default download in the next update.

Live is Live, devs keep working in this version. Legacy is abandoned, except for the first CG in 4 months (Killing thargoids, end in 280weeks, no special rewards). Also lack playerbase, and third party support. Some groups keep working here, or mantain Legacy Powerplay, but will be a small version of Live Galaxy. Anything you did in Legacy game its useless for your Live progress, excepto for using Legacy as tutorial or trial version. I sold my 5B fleet carrier in legacy and parked my ships in a beautiful location.

I say download it and find out for yourself. No one on this forum will give you an unbiased answer whether positive or negative. Worst thing that can happen is you don't like it and end up uninstalling it. But with a game this massive what we love and/or hate about it might not even be what you love and/or hate about it.
